I meant to go to the Vaughn location, but I wasn't driving. My "amount due at check out" for my online quote was $58. I didn't realize we were at the wrong location until the total due was $85. I asked how and why it changed when my quote was $58. The guy who was hard to understand in the first place informed us we were at a different location. I should have stopped it right then and there. But we were on a time crunch having to vacate a rental apartment. Long story short, I had to extend the use of the truck until the following morning. We lost one of our helpers the night before and tried so hard to be back on time but we had gone until 3am and were all just exhausted. When we dropped the the truck off we were about 40 mins. late, I had called twice to let them know we were going to be a little late. The agent could Not tell me how much my bill was! I questioned it, he said "call me in an hour, I very busy right now." I asked again, why can't you tell me what my total is? He went straight to the "man" I was with and told him the same thing. As though I didn't understand his version of English. The man, my son in law, thought maybe it meant he was going to give us a deal! No! In fact I called twice throughout the course of the day and was told the same thing... "call back, we very busy"... Finally in the evening I got an amount.... $200+ and when I questioned that amount he told me to call the 800 number if I have questions. I did not want to go to this location because it has 2,5 Star reviews. Believe the Stars! I DO NOT recommend this location. He knew I would fight face to face that $200 charge, so he repeatedly blew me off. They had my debit info, they were happy. I was so exhausted I did not bother to call the 800 number. I'll say this though... This location and it's "workers" suck! Don't give them your money.

First of all I reserved at a location that did not have my vehicle. Then when I was directed to the next location the service is so poor. Finally, I drove the truck less than 1 mile however I was charged for 2 gallons of gas. I've use this location before and I knew before I even went there that I would be scammed out of money somehow. Your company is a perfect example of a corrupt monopoly in the area. Shame on you

absolutely terrible customer service. the staff at the Quimby location told us nothing about refueling protocol and we were charged 45 dollars for 12 miles of use for refueling. this location should be shut down. they give uhual a terrible name and are total small time criminals. extremely upset by this experience and i will be making phone calls for reimbursement.

Late opening, asking specifically if we would like the vehicle we reserved or one (that would have been preferred) that was not even available, and other confusing aspects that lead to us ordering furniture protecting blankets and who knows what else because it was so confusing and difficult to understand the representative. Additionally, was not able to look at the itemized list of what I was charged for prior to my card being charged

It was hard to find parking on the street after hours. Also, the online after hours check-in seemed to have a big when it came to the upload photos step.

Tony who works there provided a very poor customer service. He accused me of causing a dent that I didn't cause. Later manager confirmed that the claim is not justified. The truck overall had a bunch of dents already, it's a very old truck and is poorly maintained. After Tony claimed that I caused the dent and I explained that I didn't, this was his response: I don't care. That was also said with a smug-like smile. Probably the worst customer service I've seen. German, the manager, is actually a nice guy, very respectful and supportive.

Everything about the order was a mess from the start. Different pick up locations, different trucks and when I returned the truck I got charged over $600 more than I was supposed to and while the person at customer service was VERY good, he had to send the customer action form further up the chain and it won't get reviewed for 3-5 business days. Meanwhile I have a massive credit card charge sitting there. This was a horrible experience. I will not use, nor will I recommend U-Haul again.

The truck had less than a quarter tank to start with and then I was still charged for fuel even though I returned it with more than I took it out for. I also only wanted a half dozen moving blankets but was charged for 2 dozen. This is outrageous.

The contract for a previous customer was left in the vehicle when I had it, which had personal information on it. Return time was listed on my receipt was almost 20 minutes after I dropped off the vehicle. I handed off the key at 8:45, ahead of my 9am return time. The listed time on the final contract was 9:07. Following the text prompts before I picked up the vehicle I ended up uploading my license twice before I got there but they still needed me to do it one more time in person before I was ready to leave. Very clunky execution.

GPS to this location is horrible. It directs you to take the bridge above non-stop making it take abnormally long to find the place on your own.

He was on his ear piece talking to someone when Iwas asking a question about the furniture dolly during checkout, told me yes i was getting one. Printed the receipt in an unreadable font. I had no dolly. Disappeared after handing the keys, when I got in the truck the mirrors were off tried adjusting, while driving the mirror completely turned around. The tire monitoring system light turned on. It was a disaster. I will never use this location and makes me not want to use uhaul ever again.

The truck smelled so bad of cigarette smoke I had to change clothes. The woman at U-Haul Was aware of this issue and didn't find it a priority to fix it. I filled the tank back to where it was when I got it and was sent an email that the gas was below where it actually was when it was returned. After that, I was charged for gas that wasn't missing.

Either this individual location or Uhaul in general have a gas scam going. They give you very little when you pick up the truck then charge you an excessive amount upon return. I used the truck for 30 total miles, was made to pay for 12 gallons of gas and a service fee. SO, in essence I paid over $100+ in fuel, on top of rental fees and miles fees, to go 30 local miles. Also, I submitted a request for more information about my situation and I received no response. Terrible customer service experience all around and I will be sure that our university and students no longer use Uhaul for their moving needs.

The dolly was too small for the dresser I had to move. The agent sold me a cord I couldn't use/ 10 dollars, so I left it at the shop. Would be nice to offer a few blankets to protect furniture. The windshield was dirty and so it was difficult at time to see through with the sun.

The gallons to fill the truck to the level needed are more than double! I needed to put in 1/4 tank of gas. The scedule said I would need 10,4 gallons of gas. I really only needed 5 gallons! Who do I talk to about getting a refund?

Both locations I dealt with to pick up and drop off were awful. Worst parts of town. Under staffed. Dirty and I'm amazed I got a U-haul at all. I will use U-haul as a last resort.

The UHaul check-in process needs big improvements. The system overwhelmed the staff and the wait to check out a truck was an hour long. This is critical when you have paid helpers and time schedules which get pushed back to start a moving day. Everyone was very stressed unnecessarily. The staff at Vans Towing was great and friendly trying to work as fast as possible, but they needed help from easier check in procedures. Express online check-in the day before barely made any difference.

It seems like every time I use U-Haul I always have issues. Starting with the app! Literally less user friendly app, the app constantly crashes, slow to process and when I go to check it in to receive The truck it says “this page doesn't exist”! So I had to go inside to check in. Waited for 50mins before someone came to the front desk to help. Finally got the truck, and it was filthy inside and out. So much so I wanted to ask for a better one, however by it taken so long getting the truck I was already behind schedule. When I started to load up the truck, that's when I noticed how dirty the back of the truck was, I didn't even want to put my stuff back there. I ended up having to take additional time out to sweep the back of the truck out. Overall other bad experience with U-haul. I mean moving within it self is kinda of stress full, but this experience add more to it. Probably would not be using U-Haul in the future!

For the next customer, please notify them that this location does not accept after hours drop off, even if a person lets you in to the fenced in area. There is a towing service on the same lot and employees of the towing service are not authorized to check you out and process your rental, even though they do what I stated above and tell you you are good to go. I was charged $20 for the overnight drop off fee. So do the self checkout every time. The trucks are completely dirty. So dirty I had a hard time seeing out of the font window during the day time. Also, there was graffiti on the side of their trucks. Which I only saw later and made me want to return it earlier than scheduled so people wouldn't be tempted to paint on it over night (turns out I shouldn't have been that courteous, b/c the owners don't care). If the next customer is in doubt that they are at 1/4 of a tank, just do ahead and put 2 gallons in there. Even if the gauge is touching the 1/4 mark, put gas I. There is no tolerance, and they will not hesitate to charge you a $30 service fee and $7 per gallon.

I told the person there that I had received the truck in a filthy condition, and I showed him the trash, the dirt, the sticky, dirty cab. He had limited English, and now I have been charged a cleaning fee. (The lot where I returned the truck had broken car parts on the ground to negotiate when returning it.) I returned the truck with extra gas, for which I am getting no credit ($15.). Dealing with UHaul over the cleaning fee is taking time and stressing me out. Now I have to hassle with UHaul over a cleaning fee unless I can provide photos, which I took, but which will require me taking the flip phone which I had on the trip to the phone dealer to try to retrieve.

This location was extremely difficult to find event with mapping app. It is in a very low end of town and I get why it closes at 4:00 PM, nobody wants to be there after that, especially in winter. The agent was very nice as I slid into the gate 2 minutes to 4:00 PM.

I ordered two dozen blankets for my move. When I got there, just one hour after opening, was told that there were NONE. Blankets are pretty essential for moving furniture. I ended up using my bedding to pack my furniture. No bueno.

Door key was accidently locked in cab and U-haul location had no extra key! U-haul 24 hr service was called and they refused to respond. The truck was located less than 3 miles from my pickup location in Portland OR. I had to call a private locksmith at my expense ($85)! Not a happy renter!

picked up truck and was told that it had 1/4 tank of gas. gauge appeared to be below 1/4 tank and did not move visibly during the short trip we used the vehicle for. i was still charged $80 over and above rental/mileage fee: fuel service fee ($30) and 8 gallons of gas ($50, which works out to $6,25/gallon !?). i feel like I have been taken advantage of, having just paid $160 to use a truck for 2 hours. I definitely won't be coming back to this location, and will try to avoid using uhaul in general in the future.

Although the young gentleman at the counter was semi pleasant he seemed very unhelpful when I inquired about storage space. Additionally I called the store several times from 330pm to 5pm and no one answered to advise them that I would be returning the car just before 5pm. When I got there before 5pm no one was there and instructions very poor on drop off procedures. Also drop box was hard to find. It took me over 40 minutes after calling the 1-800 twice on instructions. This shouldn't have been the case.
