The “easy check in” is frustrating and difficult and the employees were not helpful at all. The truck interior was not very clean, the lot was very cluttered with a variety of strange vehicles, and the employees were not redily available to help.

I felt like there were a lot of "hidden charges" that weren't disclosed when I made the reservation... For example, an $.80 credit card fee (I reserved online so I don't know how else I could have done it without a credit card), taxes (I am sure those are imposed by the city/state but they should have been disclosed when making the reservation), the vehicle license recovery fee (whatever that is, it was not disclosed...) The only fees, besides the horde of add-ons that U-Haul tried to upsell me, was the $19.95 per day, $.99 per mile and $1 environmental fee. None of these were a huge amount of money but it felt a bit dishonest to reserve online and not have these fees disclosed...

There was some broken glass in the van, probably when someone replaced the door window. A little extra vacuuming would be nice.

My truck pickup was the easiest U Haul pickup experience I've ever had; Carlos was friendly, helpful and professional. There was a headlight out on the van, however, which was fine driving-wise, but caused me concern that I would be liable. But they didn't hold it against me, nor did they hold against me the fact that I messed up the 24/7 return protocol. I don't have a smart phone and wasn't able to check in online; Carlos told me to put the key in the box, and all was well in the morning. They charged me for exactly what I'd agreed to in the contract and issued my email receipt promptly. This was the second time I'd rented from this Quimby location and I would definitely recommend it to others. Big thanks to them, the ease of renting their truck helped make a moving day in the Portland rain just a bit easier. :-)

Watch out for this location - YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF through additional fuel or cleaning fees (CHECK YOUR CONTRACT after returning the vehicle.) The rental agent stole $47.00 from me by claiming I did not bring the truck back with the same fuel in which. (I put $17.09 in fuel after my short in town haul). See U Haul Contract 96825681. This guy also attempted to add an additional cleaning charge (Fraudulently) to a previous rental - we called him out and got a refund. I gave this location a second chance and I got screwed again! I run a commercial distillery business and rent from U Haul frequently. I will not rent from this guy again, I am going to recommend that others avoid this location.

I was charged for more mileage than I drove. I told the attendant that it would probably be around 15 miles total and 25 miles max. My invoice and charge was for 25.

Clearer guidelines could be useful if the customer wants to drop the truck after hours and parks on the street and needs to pay for parking or not.

Parking while driving the rental truck was not obvious, but the staff was very generous and friendly with advice about where to park. In general the staff was outstandingly helpful; they readied a truck with short notice via a phone call and couldn’t have been nicer in person.

The right rear tire pressure was low. There was a dolly in the back when I didn’t want one so it was just in the way. The driver door would not shut all the way so it felt like it was going to pop open.

the Quimby location is fine, but the process i went through to get there was absolutely horrible. first, i reserved a truck at 1304 NW Johnson, 2 weeks in advance in my move. 2 days before my move, i got an email from UHaul saying my pick-up location changed to an "Express Mart" at 742 SW 18th St. that has got to be the worst idea for a UHaul pick-up place ever imagined! it's an actual express market, with only 1 guy working there (doing his best) and no time to deal with UHaul rentals... also, when i finally got the key to the truck, and then walked the 6 blocks away to pick it up, the truck had been stolen! cut to the end, it was an hour & a half later when i finally drove off the lot all the way over at Quimby with a truck. i was supposed to be reimbursed for this due to the hassle involved in my order, but still haven't heard from anyone back at UHaul saying that i would actually be compensated.

I don't think that they were expecting a 26' truck, there was no good place to park it. It would have been better if you had notified the people working there that someone was bringing in such a large truck.
