Walker auto closed early on 8/5/22. An area manager was in the parking lot helping customers. I didn't want to leave my car at that location so I got the key, took my car back home and had a friend take me to get the truck at 7 pm. After picking up the truck I noticed a light on the dash read â€œengine hotâ€ and â€œengine overheating.â€ I stop at a service station and called roadside assistance. I told them I was going to drive the truck to my home. The mechanic was at my house within an hour. He said the truck was not drivable and needed to be towed. The tow company showed up within 2 hours and took the truck. Roadside assistance was extremely helpful getting that junk truck out of my driveway on Friday night and again on Saturday morning getting me another truck. The only other U-Haul location I have dealt with is your location on Sharon Road West in Charlotte NC. Douglas, at that location, was great Saturday morning when I showed up around 7:30 am to pickup a truck. It took some time to get the truck but Douglas was very patient AND pleasant during the process. I hope his day got better! I'll definitely use U-Haul at Sharon Road W for future rentals. I WILL NEVER EVER USE NOR REFER WALKER AUTO FOR TRUCK RENTAL!!! I'll probably never use another â€œmom and popâ€ U-Haul location. This experience was very stressful and a little scary. I'm just glad I saw the problem right after picking up the truck and close to home, not 50 miles up the interstate stranded on the side of the road by myself!!!sheila L.
The Rock Hill location had one person assisting customers, with 4 people waiting in line. At that particular time, the lobby was closed even though the hours posted were from 8am - 4pm. Once my turn came, the guy that helped me was expeditious.RYAN R.

Rear door in 15 foot truck got stuck open, truck was unusable for 4 hours with 24 hour rental in the middle of packing. Service call placed, tech arrived without required supplies to fix issues which resulted with him cutting cables making opened door extremely unsafe and difficult to slide open. The place had half a dozen trucks of the same size, all looking very nice and new, and I got one that looked like it was cobbled together from UHaul parts from a landfill. Get rid of that truck and don't give customers your worst vehicle.George B.

Better explain pricing. Our price was calculated and we were given a total online when we reserved it. When we went to pick up the truck, our $80 rental required $200 cash deposit or a $125 card hold. None of that was listed prior.Matthew Z.

The location was fine. It's uhaul as a company. They have third party movers on their website but they don't make sure the customers are taken care of. My movers were two hours late and I called 1800-uhaul they don't care about their customers and charged me to extend my time because of the movers. I would go with another company or never book online. Uhaul charged me $80 because I changed my date. I changed the date early enough for it to be reserved again. I usually don't complain but this was a bad move. The moving company owner never answers his phone. A time had been confirmed and that time went by I texted the number that had texted me to see how much longer it would be, no answer. I waited and called again someone answered you could hear people in the background sound like it was a gathering. They hung up and call right back and said their truck was broke down. The issue was not with the Location but with U-Haul itself! I specifically requested a 2-day rental and was told it was only for Friday April 1st 2022. I even said to the UHaul Representative that I needed the truck for 2 days and he confirmed it was for 2 days. I had to do all my moving in a 10ft truck in one day due to UHaul's Screw Up!Charles L.

IN FACT, IT WAS SO UNCALLED FOR THAT I THOUGHT I WAS THE ODD ONE AND LOOKED UP GOOGLE REVIEWS AFTER MY UNPLEASANT ENCOUNTER TO SEE THAT SEVERAL OTHERS HAVE HAD VERY SIMILAR EXPERIENCES. I WILL DEFINIELY NOT GIVE BUSINESS TO THAT LOCATION AGAIN. U-HAUL, IF YOU'RE LISTENING, MR. WALKER AT INDIA HOOK RD. GIVES YOU A VERY BAD NAME AND SEVERELY TARNISHES YOUR REPUTATION. I brought the truck back at 4 pm on Tuesday, February 22. The office was closed and there were no signs for parking the return truck. The instructions on the drop box showed a website to use to return the truck. I did great until it asked me to take a picture of the odometer and the amount of gas at return. The site would not let me add the picture so I put the key in the drop box and the contract which I showed the gas at return. Why was this office closed at 4 pm? Needs to be opened until at least 5 pm. Give this location to anyone except this person.Sarah S.
