Not sure improvement is needed, other than the gas tank was half full when I started. Thus I refilled the gas half full when I returned it. The Van ran Great, I felt very safe while driving it. It was clean when I started my 6 hr. Trek. I'd use the U -Haul truck rental again in the future.

Easy pick up. The truck was waiting for me in the lot outside. Tank was 7/8 full. Did the online booking so all I had to do was pay. Simple and would do again.
Sophia SI rented a regular dolly and they only had an appliance dolly. Space is extremely tight between parked U-Haul trucks making it difficult to get in, back out and take the required pictures.

KAORU OI had a 6:00 AM pick-up to move my son down to Southern California. I did not receive the verification call the night before, as stated in the reservation E- mail and when I arrived, the 15 foot truck was not on the lot. The staff at the pick up station could not find the reservation despite me having the reservation number. Eventually a staff member, Mike, arrived to assist, and solved the problem with the help of the Uhaul manager. Although I didn't get the size truck I needed and didn't get as early of a start as I wanted, I was very impressed and appreciative of the help I received from Mike. The truck was very clean, and ran perfectly. Drop off was smooth and easy. I would definitely recommend UHAUL, and will use them again when the need arises.
CHRISTOPHER KI was late for my reservation and it was cancelled. I called the U-Haul customer service and the representative was so patient and helpful, she made another reservation for me. Checking and out was easy. I was very very pleased overall.
MITCHEL H- Fix the air conditioning. It was miserable having zero A/C for the week and driving in 80-96 degree weather. - Vehicle was not clean upon pick up. Have video. - Vehicle had damage upon pick up. Have video. - Tried uploading pictures to show uncleanliness and damage but uploading to website kept failing then link said "expired".

PAUL RWhen a new customer joins U-Haul, and they their first vehicle, step 1 in the process is to arrive at location then step 2 is to take pictures of your face/ID. Then phone call reference. This process above took longer than it should have. I believe you should do this process prior to arriving at location. This process should start after your first time renting a vehicle, that way, as you arrive to pickup location, that whole process is finished and you can just checkout your vehicle.
robert F7/8/24/; The customer service was bad. This was 3rd time using Uhaul within 3 weeks. The 1st and 2nd time was at different locations with no problems. I did not upload or sign up for Uhaul app due to the poor reviews. On 6/15/24: When I was picking up the truck at (1716 Webster St, Alameda, Ca) after giving Sandy my reservation info it took 30+ min to get into van. It took too long to take pictures on my crap phone of my id and my friend's ca driver's license when Sandy had the company tablet with her that could have been used & saved time. I returned the truck by 405pm that day and gave the keys to the clerk JQ behind the counter at Circle-K. I asked JQ where Sandy was & he respond with "she not here". I asked JQ if I need to sign anything and her said "No". Later the following week when I check my email from Uhaul it said I return the truck at 730pm when that office closes at 6pm. Incorrect info your incompetent clerks! The toll charge should be included in the initial charges if applicable like in my situation, not after the truck has been returned and Uhaul looking to access my credit card!

Iemaima TI RSVPd van online with dolly for assisting with move. System confirmed. I made payment. I arrived to pick up van the morning of RSVP, was informed a dolly was not available. I was directed to Sherman t location for a dolly. They advised that you cannot reserve/use eqpt if you do not reserve vehicle. I was inconvenienced so much I had to purchase a dolly to help with the move. I don't know if I would recommend this location to others. Perhaps I would if others didn't have other rental options
Fedelies RCheck-in to physical pick-up of the vehicle was straight-forward and good. The staff at the Webster 76 location was attentive and professional so definitely made for an easy start to the reservation. I am glad the reservation wasn't hijacked this go-round (see below for experience using the online reservation system through the U-Haul App). In terms of the online reservation system, there needs to be improvement. When a reservation is made, several different U-Haul locations would switch out the original appointment---it happened at least 3 times (maybe 4 times) IIRC. This needs to stop. When a reservation is booked for a vehicle at a specific location, DO NOT CHANGE it without the customer's approval since 10 out of 10 times the customer chose his/her preferred pickup spot/vehicle.

STEVEN RJun was an amazing person to work with on both pick up and drop off - he is VERY good at his job. Great communication skills, swept out the van when I realized how dirty it was, kind, professional, explained technicalities well. The vehicle was extremely dirty and smelled bad though, which is U-Haul's fault.

JOSH WI was charged for a dolly that I did not receive. We had to move down four flights with no dolly… I spoke w the cashier and she assured me the charge would be removed. It was not.
Adelita GUsed to UHaul app to speed up the rental process. The app required that I take a photo of the mileage and gas before it gave the OK for getting the key. The van was locked and requires the ignition to be on to get mileage and gas tank readings. I went inside the location to get help, and the person behind the counter was confused about the issue and could not resolve it, so after more than ten minutes of looking confused, got my driver's license and phone (to look at the app), then just gave me the key. This resulted in a very long wait to get into the van, and ended up making the process take much longer than if I had just reserved the truck online and picked it up without using the app. So two issues here--there needs to be some sort of fix so app users can fulfill the app requirements without human assistance (or why use the app?), and personnel at pick-up locations needs to be trained better so troubleshooting is not such a laborious process.
James MRequire the clerk to check the odometer, fuel gauge and look for exiting damage with the customer. This is routinely done by the car rental companies.
MICHAEL LPros: Location: - Decent and easy-to-access location. - Despite being ESL, the staff were well informed and could answer my questions. They were extremely thorough when reviewing documentation and reviewed what was available on-site and what was not. In addition, the staff were willing to extend my vehicle usage to suit my needs. How they handled everything definitely stood out as well-versed, especially considering their main role here is gas station attendance. Overall, I'm seriously impressed and thought they did an excellent job. - Van: - Had a reverse cam found on the mirror itself. It does not appear unless reversed. - Mirrors could be adjusted by using the mini nob on the side. - As a non-driver with a driver's license, I needed my friend to explain how the parking brake works in the van. Once I got everything rolling, the van provided a much smoother ride than expected. Very easy to operate, although I couldn't figure out how to activate the emergency flashers. - CONs This is more of a complaint of the U-haul website itself, but the site needs to do a better inventory of what products are in-house and what aren't. I was able to obtain a dolly from a neighbor, but it's disappointing expecting to reserve equipment only to find out it may not be available. At least on the site, state that some items may not be available when dealing with smaller U-haul vendors. - The van did have a slight pull to the right, so there's some correcting that's required on the driver's side. I can't speculate how much, but it seems there's a 15-degree pull for every 60 ft. - While the reverse camera was a welcomed addition, there were some unusual white-balance issues when attempting to reverse, as the bright areas appeared too white, and the shadow areas appeared too dark. The reverse cam also did not have guides to help gauge the width of the vehicle. This is still a minor complaint, and a reverse cam is better than none. -There was a bit of a used diaper smell in the van. but it was faint.

Ken LThe van was extremely dirty and sticky on the floor, the staff was refused to switch another van, but only provided two cardboards (from recycling bin) to put on the floor, and her attitude was not friendly, "take it or cancel reservation" she said! Please clean the car before give it to customer!
Julia ZI was overcharged..I did not ask for insurance and i was not asked. When I heard the price the attendant did not know how to delete it. I had to go. It was not my choice, attendant did not offer a solution after minutes waiting. Even with the insurance, the bill did not add up.

Samuel VThe van had a service engine oil light on upon pickup and had over 6 400 miles. I really recommend them to change the oil because the motor sounded strange which means its low on oil and needs to have its first oil change done
