I had a 7am truck share reservation. I showed up only to be told by THE APP that my reservation had been switched to an in-person pick up and to come back at 9am. I spent the next two hours trying to reach someone to assist me in customer service in the NY area to no avail (all available agents could only assist NJ or LI customers). This is unsatisfactory and delayed my move by 2 hours. Customers should be notified when this occurs. The staff at the location did move my reservation without issue, but it was still a very unprofessional and frustrating experience.SARAJ B.

The van was fine. There was some damage to the rear door top tail light and a giant scrape on the roof that was not noted prior to my inspection so I'm glad I checked. I requested 10 blankets but they only had 5 and they were pretty dirty. But the guys were polite and the van was there ready to go when I needed it and drop off was easy and convenient because it's a gas station so you can fill the tank right at the end. The worst part was that the app makes you upload photos if you don't agree with their photos which they took of the van when it was brand new. So you have to take all of these photos and upload them and then, suddenly, after a dozen photos, the app crashed and reset and erased all of my uploads! Then, because it was 22 degrees out, my phone died retaking the photos. It's a cool idea but in execution it was a hassle. Better to have a guy with a clipboard just walk around the truck with you and make check marks. In the end, it was a good van and it got the job done.JOHN D S.

I wanted to leave a bad review for Christine Movers (job#JB-7bcb9f7c) but it's been removed from my account. We paid the required 100 $received confirmation from them yesterday that they would arrive at 10:30am today (rescheduled because of the blizzard in NYC). They never showed up, wouldn't answer the phone (I left 4 vmails) and wouldn't reply to txt msgs. I had to book another company that was 3x the cost because it was last minute. Inexcusable poor service and uhaul should discontinue recommending them through its site.Ryan M.

This location is trying to charge me to damage to the vehicle I rented that was there when I got it. They called me the next day and told me about the issue and I explained that it was like that when I picked it up. They said they would call me back. They never did. Instead they charged my card an additional amount without my authorization or any kind of documentation. I do not believe I am responsible for the damage, and even if I was this is not an appropriate way to handle it. I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB and the NYAG if this is not resolved and I am not refunded the full amount.EMILY HARPER K.

I had a poor experience attempting to pick up my uhaul. I arrived on time, but there was one person working at the gas station/uhaul location and it took 30 minutes for him to attend to me, cutting into my reservation time. When I spoke with him, he first said "reservations are closed," despite me having a reservation already. He wouldn't help me but stated I should call uHaul customer support. I was on the phone for 20 minutes while I figured out the self-check in process. When I had to get the key from the attendant, he said "I need to see the vehicle number and key number." I clicked through to show him and he was still confused by the process (one person in front of me also had difficulty collecting the key for his rental). He then went inside and couldn't locate the key for several minutes, while it was right on the counter where it would be expected to be. Overall, this was a poor experience and I would not recommend this location to others.Jory G.

The back of the truck had leftover plastics and water bottles inside. The check engine light came on and was quite a distraction. and the location was very congested. If not for convenience I would have looked for another location.Darin B.
I was very frustrated with my experience renting a Uhaul. One, I requested a one way for my uhaul to be dropped in Brooklyn. It was not unclear to me that this was changed. I also wasn't told in Check in that this had changed and confirmed that this van would have to be returned to that specific location. Two, I tried to call and resolve this but wasn't met with flexibility on the issue and was told that I would have to pay double in fees if I was not to return it to the original location which I did not have time for. It was already a lot going on that today and an extra two hours to return the Uhaul was incredibly wasteful. Three, there was no one there in the office when I returned the car and it was confusing who we were supposed to return it to. There was no proof of return. We thought we put in enough gas and apparently we were just under the required amount so we were charged more. I was unhappy with this experience and I never write negative reviews.Kfir - Michelle K.

The online pickup/drop off process is far too tedious. The additional info requested was overkill and the calls and texts to both of my contacts listed was unnecessary. This specific location is extremely congested and the service was fine, but there was no skipping the line when picking up the keys, as it's a gas station with one employee.Cory V.
My experience with U-Haul was very poor. I first emailed them directly before posting this, hoping to get a response. I did not. 1) The supplies I needed (1 queen mattress protector, 1 medium box) were located at a different U-Haul facility than the location I was supposed to pick up my truck from. I went to pick them up first, then once arriving to the location to pick up my truck, I see all the supplies I needed at this location. Someone had not done their inventory correctly. This cost me wasted time and money on two Ubers getting between the two places to pick up supplies and the truck, because it was raining. 2) There was no point in me making my appointment time. The U-Haul system was down and the attendant could not check me in or log me in to get my vehicle. I waited for a total of ONE HOUR to get my vehicle. In this hour, we a) called U-Haul several times, were told it was a tri-state wide outage, then told again it was a "nationwide" outage, then left on hold b) I downloaded the U-Haul app and started the U-Haul check-in process (which I had already done prior to arriving to the location, because the email from U-Haul said something like, "complete your online check-in to same time!" what a joke) to see if that would allow me to access the vehicle, as per the attendant's suggestion. c) the app left me on the 'awaiting approval' page during which I received no correspondence from any U-Haul representative. d) at this point, I was ready to cancel my reservation. I was told by the attendant's U-Haul rep (whom he called) that I could get a 50 $credit for the inconvenience. e) whomever I spoke to at U-Haul (and this was really disrespectful) was very rude when I told him what had happened, he said abruptly that I would get my 50 $credit, then hung up. He did not even ask for my name or know where I was calling from, or my Order #! 3) Because I was waiting for 1 hour to get my moving truck, I was now severely delayed in my moving schedule, and into traffic time in New York City. It took me an hour to get to and from my storage unit to my apartment, and because of traffic I had to take different routes that were longer mileage amounts. I specifically requested my vehicle at 2pm before traffic in NYC, but instead got it at 3pm, and it took an extra 2 hours for me to move because of traffic, AND I got charged for extra miles taken to avoid this traffic. 4) The venue that had these U-Haul vehicles was a gas station. This is NOT A GOOD LOCATION for U-Haul either, given that a million different things were going on while I was trying to get my car and the U-Haul system was down: people coming in to get snacks, gas, and there was a car service center so people also coming in for getting their tires fixed, etc. The phone was ringing off the hook. The attendant was not focused on helping me fully and was frustrated. We got in a disagreement and it was very uncomfortable for me. U-HAUL DID NOT HELP ME AT ALL, we had to wait for the system to reboot and let me put down my credit card before I could take the car. The whole ordeal was so unpleasant. The fact that I cannot return vans to a different location is incredibly inconvenient and much more expensive. What I was told on the phone, and what I saw online VS what happened in store was totally different. This was a miserable experience, added 200 $and 6 additional hours to my trip. I was happy that the location was convenient. I would have given this location 5 stars but the attendant was giving me a hard time to get the keys. Thankfully the customer service from U-Haul helped me but it was very unnecessary. He was asking for more proof than U-Haul required and that made me lose time in the time frame I had to move out. Overall truck was great and U-Haul customer service was awesome.Andre F.

My reservation was for 8am, but this location, one that I was switched to last minute for the pick-up, did not open until 9am. Someone did come at 825am and I was able to pick up my truck, but I was late by 10 minutes to a running clock for the start of the move out for the hired mover's 2-hour period.Daniel D.
This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have been charged for extra gas when I returned the truck with more gas than it had when I started. I told the attendant that there was less than half and when I took it out. I showed him the picture of the gauge and he said no problem return it with the same amount. Drivers side headlight was out, which we discovered as soon as it got dark. The battery was low, and each time we turned the truck on, it sounded like the ignition wouldn't turn over. I'm surprised we didn't get stuck in the middle of no where. Drivers side windshield wiper didn't work. Overall......really unsatisfied for paying over 1 200,00 $ USD.Joel B.
