I was happy that the location was convenient. I would have given this location 5 stars but the attendant was giving me a hard time to get the keys. Thankfully the customer service from U-Haul helped me but it was very unnecessary. He was asking for more proof than U-Haul required and that made me lose time in the time frame I had to move out. Overall truck was great and U-Haul customer service was awesome.

It took over 30 minutes to complete the process online to actually get access to the vehicle. This seemed excessive and should be completed during the actual process of renting the vehicle.

My reservation was for 8am, but this location, one that I was switched to last minute for the pick-up, did not open until 9am. Someone did come at 825am and I was able to pick up my truck, but I was late by 10 minutes to a running clock for the start of the move out for the hired mover's 2-hour period.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have been charged for extra gas when I returned the truck with more gas than it had when I started. I told the attendant that there was less than half and when I took it out. I showed him the picture of the gauge and he said no problem return it with the same amount. I returned the truck with the same or more gas and I was charged for an additional 2.5 gallons.

Drivers side headlight was out, which we discovered as soon as it got dark. The battery was low, and each time we turned the truck on, it sounded like the ignition wouldn't turn over. I'm surprised we didn't get stuck in the middle of no where. Drivers side windshield wiper didn't work. Overall......really unsatisfied for paying over $1200.00 USD.

I paid for a furniture dolly but the uhal rep would not let me take it because I wasn't returning the truck to the same location and it was apparently "his property". You scamming assholes can't charge me for equipment then not let me use it.

We were able to select a pick-up time of 8 am, but when we arrived found out the store did not open until 8:30 am, which set our move back on a tight schedule.

The gentleman at the location was great. He was dealing with many customers and handling everything by himself, doing a great job. Give him a raise. As to your "online process": Rude, slow, illogical and deficient. When a customer arrives to pick up their truck, all they should do is get the key and leave. Why the hell are you asking for more documents that you 1) did not mention before and 2) had ample time to request during the on-boarding process. You are a joke, and an insult to your customers and anybody that has spent 1 day learning about process work-flow and management.

The fellow who managed the transaction was helpful and understanding. Being that the location is in a gas station on a corner lot in Manhattan, it wasn't that easy to pull out onto Lexington Avenue. That is the reality of being in the city. But once on the street, it was an easy drive.

I was told one locations and given another. The number didn't work at the location and I had to call customer services further more they didn't have the peripherals (pads and dolly) that I paid for there.

Customer service agents were all over the place. They were sending me to other departments that couldn't help. They did not seem to truly comprehend what I needed so instead they sent me to a a manager that theY thought could fix the issue. I spent over an hour in the phone trying to get them to simply send the store my updated information. The hold time is atrocious.

I had rented certain equipment but when I came to the location for my reservation they didn't have some of the equipment and I had to rent something else that was more expensive, which was annoying.


Very easy pickup, the gentleman checking me in was terrific, very personable and helpful, actually took me in a bit early which helped a lot. The only issue I've had is how long wait times are when trying to talk to a phone agent. I had to change the reservation because of travel plans being modified, and we had rented a car dolly as well. Of 5 different agents I spoke with only one mentioned the car dolly might not be at same location as the van. Indeed, when we got the scheduling call the day before, we were told the dolly was at an entirely different location in the Bronx (the van was in Manhattan). it took almost an hour and a half to get there in a driving rainstorm and NYC traffic lights. I think the phone bank needs work, as well as proper instruction to agents about what exactly the requirements are in urban areas like NYC when renting any trailer. Otherwise the vehicles were terrific and a comfortable smooth drive. Thanks.
