CROOKED! Will screw you given the chance. I picked up a trailer at 4 PM and returned it at 6:30 PM. They close at 5 PM. I couldn't get my picture to upload, required by the app, to return at that time. I figured, no problem, I have the trailer for 24 hours, I'll just return in the morning. I woke up to my receipt being emailed charging me for an extra day and a 20 $after-hours fee even though it was entered after they opened. I questioned the charges and was told to call UHaul if I didn't like it. They had no interest in correcting.JOHN F.
I was highly upset as I reserved a 20 foot truck for a 1-way move. The night prior to the move, I received a call that a 20' truck was not available for 1-way, but was for round-trip. So I changed my reservation to a round-trip move to keep the 20' truck. When I arrived to pickup, I was told this location doesn't even rent out 20' trucks and only had 15' trucks available even though I had an email confirmation from the previous night's phone call and reservation change confirming that I had a guaranteed reservation for a 20' truck. This caused several more trips to move than I had planned. Highly upset, and will use another company other than U-Haul in the future, as relatives have since told me they have had the same experience on multiple occasions. I'm not okay with a company that knows they have you in a tough situation just saying whatever you want to hear so that they can take your money. Will be recommending to friends/family that they do not use U-Haul for this reason.MICHAELTYLER H.

Charge less for short local rental. Associate with franchises that excel in communication and push the others out. Make it easier to determine what equipment is where right now for use/rental. Repair your equipment rather than renting auto transports with clearance lights non-functional. Focus more on the customer transaction experience and less on sending 20-page contracts over and over in a mobile world. You have so much experience, resources, and opportunity to do better than an electronic CVS receipt..Geoffrey R.

I have just one complaint about how the system is set up. I thought that I might drive the truck at least 50 miles on my use on 09/08/2021, so I paid for 50 miles, but I only used 29 miles. I have yet to be reimbursed for this.CORTLANDEUGENE B.
The inside of the truck was dirty. I took a video, because the check in would not allow me to upload but one picture. Of the driverside door storage. At check out, it ask if that truck was clean to rent to another family. I put no because of the condition I recieved the truck in. I was charged a 25 cleaning fee, for something that wasn't even my mess. There was a old wawa food wrapper in the lower middle console. The inside of that truck was gross. I thought there would be a higher standard with cleanliness with COVID. I have rented from other locations, and at least they mad sure the inside was clean.APRILLYNN J.

Adhere to the reservation system. I used the 24/7 pick up option, but when I got to the location, my reservation had been changed to hand delivery. There was no notification telling me this and as a result, I was over an hour late with picking up and starting my move.Matt P.

Actually go inspect the vehicle and write down the out mileage and the return mileage so you stop overcharging people for miles they didn't accrue. We have proof. It would also be nice to get the truck with a full tank of gas and not 1/2 tank, only to return it at 1/2 tank and get charged for not fueling! Will never rent from uhaul againSCOTTA M.
I rented a 6x12 trailer and I was required to both attach and detach that heavy trailer on my own. Those trailers are incredibly heavy, so it was a huge inconvenience for me, but had it been my wife, or even an elderly person renting it, that would be absolutely unacceptable to expect them to have to lift the tongue of that trailer.BEAUWESTLEY H.

This location was by far the worst experience I have had when renting a UHAUL. The man behind the counter was rude. He attempted to charge me twice when I showed him I was already charged for the rental on my account and then refused to rent me the truck. After we argued about how I was lying he finally gave up. He then just gave me the key and that was it. He didn't tell me where to find it on his property as well as the auto transport. It took my about an extra 10 minutes of walking around to locate my equipment. He also didn't help me hook it up and get my car on the trailer. I had zero experience prior to this rental in how to hook up trailers and driving my car up on one. I am sad I provided him with a commission on this one way nearly 1 000 $dollar rental. I urge anyone who is looking to rent a UHAUL to STEER CLEAR OF THIS LOCATION. Let him loose his dealers license. At the very least he shouldn't be allowed to rent trailers.Benjamin M.

I signed the contract for 29 dollars. The store only has 1 worker, and she is trying to maintain a gas station, uhaul, and a restaurant. When I signed, I was told to drop the trailer off where I picked it up from because she is so busy. The next morning, I received an email that I was charged 60 dollars. The store owner refused to honor the original receipt and contract. He was extremely rude and aggressive. Very poor representation of the Uhaul company.THOMASZEKE S.

I opted to use the truck share feature so I wouldn't have to go inside or anything like that, just get in the truck and go. With that being said that feature didn't work, it kept asking me to put in additional contacts and phone numbers, I put in at least 4 different names and numbers all leading to the same result of need another contact. The automated messenger thing that is supposed to help said that the contact didn't answer the phone, which is not true; my phone never rang and neither did my partners. The only way we even go the truck was because we went inside, talked to someone, and had to fill out all the information all over again. (The people working at the store were so helpful and nice, would go back just for them.) I just don't understand how you can make a feature that is supposed to make getting the truck easy and seamless and Then have it make the process so much harder.JEREMYMICHAEL S.

First they call us and say they don't have a trailer for us the day before we picked up and we had to then drive an hour to get it. He told me to hook it up myself, it was pouring down rain, so I didn't get to check the inside. So after I already said it was all good (because I wasn't standing in the rain any longer after hooking up the trailer myself) I discovered the inside was filthy and had trash in it. I filed a complaint and still haven't heard from the area manager 10 days later. And when I dropped it off the person there said the chains weren't on right and we were lucky to make it safely all the way to Washington from Virginia.Paige C.

I was charged 28,00 $ for insurance I declined. The man who helped me insisted I take the insurance repeatedly, when I declined he became very rude and told me, "good luck, you'll pay". He had me sign that I declined the insurance, but I was charged anyway.KYLEK O.
You did not honor my original pickup location, chosen over a month in advance of my move and instead forced me to drive an hour out of my way to get the truck, costing me extra time and money. You did not offer any compensation and overall were completely apathetic to your screw-up and my predicament as a result. I will not ever be using uhaul again in the future. The truck I rented was not there at my reservation time. I was told they did not know if they would have it later that day or not. I asked if I could get a different truck for the same price since it was their mistake. I was told no - I would have to pay the higher rate. My only option was to pay more or call uhaul's 1-800 #. When I called -there was an estimated wait time of 40 min. There was no customer service at all and only 1 guy working so every time I tried to talk to him - I had to wait in a long line behind people buying gas and lottery tickets!!!Michelle C.

That was 30 minutes out of my way and was very inconvenient. I wasn't allowed to return to a more convenient location. That's pretty poor customer service.
