I signed the contract for 29 dollars. The store only has 1 worker, and she is trying to maintain a gas station, uhaul, and a restaurant. When I signed, I was told to drop the trailer off where I picked it up from because she is so busy. The next morning, I received an email that I was charged 60 dollars. The store owner refused to honor the original receipt and contract. He was extremely rude and aggressive. Very poor representation of the Uhaul company.THOMASZEKE S.

I opted to use the truck share feature so I wouldn't have to go inside or anything like that, just get in the truck and go. With that being said that feature didn't work, it kept asking me to put in additional contacts and phone numbers, I put in at least 4 different names and numbers all leading to the same result of need another contact. The automated messenger thing that is supposed to help said that the contact didn't answer the phone, which is not true; my phone never rang and neither did my partners. The only way we even go the truck was because we went inside, talked to someone, and had to fill out all the information all over again. (The people working at the store were so helpful and nice, would go back just for them.) I just don't understand how you can make a feature that is supposed to make getting the truck easy and seamless and Then have it make the process so much harder.JEREMYMICHAEL S.

First they call us and say they don't have a trailer for us the day before we picked up and we had to then drive an hour to get it. He told me to hook it up myself, it was pouring down rain, so I didn't get to check the inside. So after I already said it was all good (because I wasn't standing in the rain any longer after hooking up the trailer myself) I discovered the inside was filthy and had trash in it. I filed a complaint and still haven't heard from the area manager 10 days later. And when I dropped it off the person there said the chains weren't on right and we were lucky to make it safely all the way to Washington from Virginia.Paige C.

I was charged $28.00 for insurance I declined. The man who helped me insisted I take the insurance repeatedly, when I declined he became very rude and told me, "good luck, you'll pay". He had me sign that I declined the insurance, but I was charged anyway.KYLEK O.
You did not honor my original pickup location, chosen over a month in advance of my move and instead forced me to drive an hour out of my way to get the truck, costing me extra time and money. You did not offer any compensation and overall were completely apathetic to your screw-up and my predicament as a result. I will not ever be using uhaul again in the future. The truck I rented was not there at my reservation time. I was told they did not know if they would have it later that day or not. I asked if I could get a different truck for the same price since it was their mistake. I was told no - I would have to pay the higher rate. My only option was to pay more or call uhaul's 1-800 #. When I called -there was an estimated wait time of 40 min. There was no customer service at all and only 1 guy working so every time I tried to talk to him - I had to wait in a long line behind people buying gas and lottery tickets!!!Michelle C.

This was not the location I requested. I had requested the Powhatan location and was told at the last minute that I needed to go to another location. That was 30 minutes out of my way and was very inconvenient. I wasn't allowed to return to a more convenient location. That's pretty poor customer service. I reserved and paid for this trailer rental months in advance. I wanted to pick the trailer up in Farmville. I was informed the day before the rental began that I would not be able to pick up the trailer in Farmville and had to drive 50 miles each way to pick it up. Further, they were not open on Sunday so I had to pick it up Saturday during my daughters graduation. I sent my two sons to pick up the trailer and the gentleman would not do the transaction with my son. I was on the phone for an hour trying to clear this up DURING MY DAUGHTERS GRADUATION. NOT HAPPY. The rental place did not help my sons hook up the 8X12 trailer and they had to wing it themselves. Ridiculous. What can you do to improve for the next customer? Have competent people that rent these items and give earlier warning when an item is not available in the city desired and you have to drive 100 miles out of the way to pick it up.JOHNPIERCE L.

Transmission was not great...got stuck in a higher gear a few times. I must add I really disliked the hand truck and padding being attached to the side of the vehicle when I did not request it nor did I need to rent it. The equipment took up space that I really needed and paid for. This felt like I had to rent it to move it out of the way. We ended up packing around it but it was very inconvenient.DARRENS W.

Awful experience from the beginning. I thought the store manager was very nude and unprofessional. I reserved a truck online but for some reason my name was not showing correctly on the reservation. I could not pick up the truck at the time I requested and had to leave the store and returned hours later after calling U-Haul to get it straight which did not happen.
