I was charged extra $20 eventhough I've returned the rental van in time because the office was close and did not use the an app to check it in. The only instruction I've got was where to drop the key after office hours . I was given a paper with fine prints about the online check in . Beware .

FRANK RTruck was clean but drove horribly check engine light came on struggled to drive up small hills the doors were very hard to close had to roll down the windows and still hard could not get the truck to go over 55
GEORGE LLocation was easy access; however, I arrived at 10 AM and a female employee was standing outside, and she provided no directions or assistance even though I was pulling a U-Haul trailer. When asked where to drop off the trailer she said to drop it in the grass around back and no information on where to go to check out. I had to walk back to the office for assistance. It was not after hours, and they were not busy. I have used U-Haul at several other locations and received better customer service.

Tamara BThe women told me in a very rude way to take the tow dolly to the back. I went to the back and she came out and screamed I said to the back. I saw red when she yelled at me. That's when I went off on them about how the equipment was defective. She was Rude on another level and I went right with her.
fay pThe a/c was not cooling and the battery was no good so when we stopped for gas the truck wouldn't start back up. U-haul roadside assistance had to come replace the battery.
Erin FThe office staff was rude and condescending. They forgot to give me the packing blankets I ordered and I had to turn around and go back. The young man who was working in the office basically scalded me for doing what the other person in the office told me.
Martin FVan was not clean and employee did not go outside for pick up to check in but I am not sure this is still a thing as it has been a long time since I used a rental.

GARY MWas told just to bring the trailer back before 8PM, and if the front office was closed, just drop it off where I left it, no other instructions provided. When I went to drop it off, just seemed weird that there was no other checkout process, so I looked at all four emails yall sent, as well as the receipt one more time and didn't see instructions for drop off, so I dropped it off and left. Next day I get charged a $20 fee for not checking the trailer in, I only paid $15 for the trailer rental itself…. Called and the woman that answered gave me a very kind and detailed explanation which was "it's on your receipt, we have fees for everything". Absolutely horrendous customer service. If im in the wrong, then by all means, yeah, I should be charged a fee, but nowhere is it obvious the return instructions. There is only one place on the receipt giving instructions on return after hours buried in the middle of a paragraph about fees for damage or late return. The verbiage given is also "returning after hours incurs a $20 fee", which to me translates to "returning after your agreed to time (8 pm in my case), you will be charged a late fee of $20. I'm disappointed in U-Haul and will be telling all my friends and family about this encounter. You have lost a customer today.

Brooke CI would not recommend the overnight process, U-Haul need to do a better job of assuring everything is ready to go when the customer makes the reservation. I was there for an hour waiting to get verafied, this should be done ahead time.
