Customer support at U-Haul is second to none. Using phone and helpful phone staff helped me with the automated check in procedure. Walked me through the process then used the U-Haul app on my phone to complete the return. Smoothest thing I have done in a long while.

Very rude lady at the pick up and drop off location. Called and accused of property damage and informed me that no parking on the property is allowed. How am I supposed to rent a truck without leaving my personal vehicle onsite?

I was unaware I had to have certain things to enter during pickup. You should be able to submit them before you're standing in a field trying to start moving your belongings. Also the system kept messing up upon return of the vehicle and OVERCHARGED me by ~$650 !!! And customer service was awful. They did not care that I had that much taken out and it was being refunded. Mind you... it takes “3-5 business days” to return into my account and it was a Friday. What if I needed that money for gas or food for me and my 1year old daughter? What if I didn't have that kind of money sitting in my bank account? Would I be responsible for overdraft fees etc? And then I couldn't get any amount of my money back because the $65 for my U-Haul was accurate...... the charges being accurate wasn't the point. The point was a system failure on your part delayed my pick up and return of the equipment and also caused me to be charged an extreme overage of money. I'm never using U-Haul again.

They quoted me 54.00 to rent a car hauler. When I get there it's 95.67 because it was the last one. When I dropped it off I took pictures of trailer placement, hooked and unhooked from my truck. The worker there after I left jacked the trailer to high to hook up to a moving truck and broke the jack. I have pictures with a tape measure. I think they finally conceded this was on them. Next after I checked it in the workers decided not to come in making my online check in null and void because it was now past 24 hours ( mind you I rented it at 18:30 the day before and it was sitting on your lot the next morning at 10:56 am with time stamped pics. My wife made the online reservation because I was on the road but put in all my information including my email , credit card , phone number and truck type. Now the very rude people at the Freeport drop off charged me another 21.40 because my pic weren't off my wife's phone. I clearly had the guy once again add all my information at the pickup site. Now I'm out $117.07 for a 15 hour rental. Is this how you allow these people to represent your company? I would like a refund place back to my credit card immediately. I would not return to this place again when it's not manned. Luckily I had someone with me and together we were able to bounce it off the hitch ball. Also the directions need to be MUCH more specific as to exactly where the bar code is that we are to photograph and send on the check in app. Just not very user friendly.

The lady that owns and runs this is very nasty. And they put our stuff in the wrong truck and no lights to see when picking up truck. She argued with me about the truck and she didn't set us up to pick up.

The pick process was a NIGHTMARE! My location and time were changed without any notification. Then, I got curt phone calls from the Freeport female agent who said she was the owner of 2 locations locally. She offered no flexibility in pick up time options or any explanation of why my location and time was altered without my knowledge as well. The attitude displayed was "take it or leave it..." She could not have cared less about any level of real customer service. Going forward we will likely rent with Penske, Home Depot etc....where there is a level of professionalism, and basic understanding that the CUSTOMER should have priority not the Owner and/or employees convenience.

Had an online pick up at 9:00 AM. There were 5 customers on the lot when I arrived at 9:00. No U-Haul worker arrived until 9:45 and it was around 10:15 by the time I finally got my trailer. Received no assistance from any staff to get hooked up.

The online check in was a little cumbersome. Had poor cell/internet service at the location. The owner/employee was very helpful though and got us through the process.

we had a truck and a car carrier. Dropped off the car carrier late night and could not check it in on your app with out the truck. We turned in the truck the next day. This place closes at 1:00PM so nobody there. We used the app to check it in but couldn't check in the car carrier. The app isn't very accommodating. It was pouring rain and we had to get drenched to get the photos. Horrible experience.

when I dropped off the truck at Bj bait shop the online check in was fine until I was asked to approve an extra mileage charge for the drop off. That was not explained at all. I will never use U-HAUL again because that should have been disclosed up front. This was not my first one way truck rental but it sure will be that last with you guys!!!!

The dropbox for the key was hidden behind all of the big trucks. It should be next to the trailer/office where it is more visible. We could not find it anywhere. Took forever to go through the checkout process online. Taking pictures was not working. There should be a way to make this process a lot smoother.

Book from one location within DFS then had to drive 22 mile to Freeport to pick up the van then when we returned the van was told that I would be charged for picking up and returning which added 44 miles to the cast.

The lady working was very nice and helpful, she came out to inspect the trailer and let us stand there and fold the blankets instead of just automatically charging us for them being unfolded. She made sure we were able to loop around to drop the trailer instead of having to back it in. She was very customer service oriented and I would definitely rent from her again.

My first time renting a U-Haul at somewhat of a self serve location and I loved it and had zero problems. Can't beat the pricing. Well pleased.

Have a qualified maintenance person actually inspect the trucks. I'm thinking Uhaul is borderline lawsuit liable for renting me a truck in this state of ill repair. The fact that I paid for this and ended up spending hours trying to get it in a safe to drive condition which cut into my personal time to load the truck still frustrated me. How is this acceptable to a company of your size? Where's your CRM process?

Facility is not staffed on a Tuesday. The return message board is not lit up well at night for being able to drop off equipment/trucks and key to rigs. When I called the required number to speak with a Uhaul rep., the woman could only see my return info. For one or two questions on her screen. Also, she was servicing me by phone while trying to serve another customer simultaneously by phone, presumeably. Then when downloading mileage and gas tank level photos, the download failed and I had to repeat the questions asked from the beginning. Then after a second failed download, the phone rep said she could only see a small portion of my entries, but that she would make a electronic note saying she could see I had answered a few questions and that would suffice. I dropped keys in truck return box as ondtructed. Next morning I returned to facility in Freeport, FL. And the UHaul rep. On site said the truck Ibhad returned day before was reported by UHaul as being "missing" from facility. Eventually the UHaul service rep on site checked rig in, The return site staff person or service rep was able to process my return.

This location is strictly do it yourself. There is not an office or a person to speak with. It is in the country so cell service is not the best. If you booked your reservation on line be prepared for a 45 minute wait because you will have to go through the whole process again. Uploading pictures of drivers license and when returning truck they want you to take a couple of pictures of the truck the mileage and fuel gauge. I do not recommend this method of renting a truck. I would not have rented here had I known that it would be this inconvenient. Moving is stressful, I did not need this added stress. I feel like U-Haul owes me a paycheck because I did their jobs.

Online hours of operation said 9am to 5pm but there was no one onsite when I arrived at 10am. I had to quickly drop the trailer off and leave then later on I was informed when I called to ensure that they had recorded my trailer into the system that i was going to be charged $20 bc no one was present, even though it was during their "open hours".

BJ's was great and the Brewton pick up location was great. But U-Haul sucked on this deal. Bruton location said I would have to call U-Haul to change locations as they did not have one in my city for drop off. There was one 5 miles down the road. So I did call them and they told me to take it to that location and they still charge me $20 service fee. That's some bull crap as I rent from U-Haul at least two or three times a month. Zero stars on U-Haul on this trip. Five stars on Brewton and BJ's U haul

Great customer service, very helpful. Couldn't check in at first, called and they did it over the phone right away. Super nice and explained everything very clearly. So, it was very easy to use and do the self pickup and drop-off. I will definitely use this location again when I need to move and will recommend to friends.

The cell phone coverage is not that great at this location, therefore signing into the app to check out my truck and also return it took several tries & over 30 minutes. Perhaps adding wifi coverage at the location would help? BJ's was very responsive to my problems, but I found the online check-in very cumbersome.

Let's start by U-Haul and the location being on the same page as to if there will be someone at the site. U-Haul states (and we SPECIFICALLY asked) someone will be there, well guess what, nobody there. There were approximately 25 pieces of U-Haul equipment, a passenger vehicle - but no one there. I return the equipment a day EARLY, and now you are sending me a overdue statement. I want to speak to someone at U-Haul about this situation Bob 615.420.0614

Might just be me, but not enough mobile data signal there to complete the reservation pickup/drop-off. Called the local service and they wanted to charge $20 to assist claiming after hours, but the location was scheduled to be open.

I rented a 26' truck and a 5x9 open trailer while moving. Upon returning the truck and trailer we were charged $80 in excess fees, the most infuriating one was the $20 “after hours return” fee since we we returned both early. When I asked why I was told by the local representative on the phone that “that's just the way it is” and “we don't have proof you returned it early” even though I used the uhaul 24/7 check in online as I was instructed. That same rep instructed me to drive all the way back to their location to take a picture of the equipment I returned so she had “proof”.... so I wasted another 20 mins of my time and also gas driving back..... of course the local area manager “wasn't available” this has been horrible customer service and I am NOT happy about this.

I asked that someone check me in...they said no, that I had to do self check in. The result: I was overcharged a day and on gas. Now I have to go through the complaint channels to get my money back. I will never use U Haul again!

In the past I have used you all and a lot of their trucks were almost junk. It seems to me like fit the overall condition of the whole company has greatly improved. This place, "JB's Bait and Feed" ripped me off to a tune of $120.00 plus tax for a cleaning fee. I turned in the truck with it clean as could be. The shipping pads weren't folded as I was never told that they needed to be. The lot that I turned it at was nothing but a dirt lot. There was NO lighting and I wasn't able turn in the key as I couldn't see the drop box as THERE WAS NO LIGHTING. I have never been so poorly treated or ripped off by UHaul. My total cost should have been nothing more than the extra mileage at $48.00 and the $40.00 the I authorized through UHaul's 800 number. I was ripped off by more than $135.00 tax NOT included. I want some action taken against BJ and refunded my money! This company is run by seemingly thieves and liars.

No office nearby or person to talk to directly. So confusing and not convenient. Took me 1 hr to get keys to the truck.every thing is done thru their site. You have to send them everything in the world then younger calls from Houston to make sure it's you that is renting the truck. No equipment there no dolly no blankets to protect your stuff. After sending the requested stuff then you wait for another additional 30 mins to get verified then they send you a code for the key box to unlock it. Pain in the ass.never will I deal with uhaul ever again.

Lot was small. Had a hard time parking. Got charged to clean inside cabin because there was mud on floorboard. That is because the lot was muddy and had to get out and back in truck to check paperwork. Did not have access to clean it. I should have not been charged for this.

The original location on the reservation in Panama City Beach FL could not complete the reservation. After driving an hour out of my way it took an hour to rent my equipment at this location.

I wish I had known I couldn't park my car there. Also, I originally rented 2 dolleys but only used the loose one and was also told right before I got charged at return that I shouldn't get charged for the dolley zip tied to the truck since I didn't used it but after further review, my receipt shows a $28 charge for 2 days (should only be $14). My husband will call today to try and get it reimbursed. Otherwise, I had a great experience with the long haired lady at pickup and Darrell was nice when checking the truck at return.

The customer service that was handling me was incredibly rude. I had talked to the owner the day before and he had stated that the truck was in and cleaned and I could pick the truck up at 9, when I got there she had a customer come in after me and said you weren't supposed to pick the truck up until 10 after I had talked to her the night before. She was just a nightmare. The dolly wasn't in the truck no big and the boxes either. She was just incredibly unfriendly didn't take you out to show you the truck would not recommended.
