The truck worked great and was overall clean but the windows inside the truck were filthy. The drivers side windshield wiper was VERY worn, it wouldn't wipe away rain. I've used this location before and I will use this location again.

The Ace Hardware was great. The whole 24/7 process is freaking terrible. I mean, literally, terrible. I don't even have the time to explain how bad of a process it is. I'm just glad the Ace was open when my wife dropped me off or I would have frozen to death in that parking lot trying to work through adjusting all the settings in my phone browser to make their process work. Then switching from Safari to Chrome because, well, nobody should ever use safari, EVER. Then, maybe you should know ahead of time that they are going to want you to take pics of the front / back of your license then you standing there with your gloves on because this is supposed to allow you to do all of this on your own after or before hours. So, its cold out and that is not Uhauls fault, but they have to assume that not everyone is going to only rent trucks from may to august. Now without gloves on in 8 degree weather trying to take pics and send them on their web page on your phone with your little digits shaking and can't feel the tips but hey, this is a quick easy process. Then, get your passport, birth certificate or phone a friend ready that you didn't know you needed ahead of time. I mean who the holy fuck carries their passport with them to move a garage full of crap to a new garage? Now lets talk about the janky key. I mean, anyone with any type of physical limitation or even just short fat fingers in 8 degree weather would not be able to get this crapy lock unlocked. It has this minute little flip switch that you have to use to force the bolt of the lock open and I thought it was just stiff due to the cold but no, 4 hours later when it had been in the truck with dante's 3rd level of hell heat blowing to un freeze my little sausage fingers - it still sucked and was harder to close than it was to open. Lets talk about turning the truck in. First, you are never told what to do with the lock. I just left mine laying on top of the lock box because it wouldn't close. Now, be prepared to get back out in the cold and take seveal photos of the truck to show that it is clean in the front and the back. More pics with your gloves on or off in 8 degree temps. I sure as hell hope the people in Alaska or Montana do not ever try to use this process, you will lose fingers. So, one more thing to note. Don't call their support number. After spending 20 mins trying to get safari to work with their process I called their support line. I was on hold for 14 mins before I hung up because I got chrome to work while I was on hold. You have to allow Safari (or chrome) access to your camera and location services. I did this about 10 times in safari, restarted my phone and did everything I could and safari would not work. So, just do yourself a favor and copy the link and go straight to chrome. I think in summary, what I'm really trying to get at, is that you should just go rent a truck from a human being. Uhaul has a long way to go to get to the point that you can rent a truck and ensure you are who you say you are and actually return their truck instead of stealing it and driving to a warmer climate. The only good part of the process is when I realized I had to give them the number of someone to validate I am who I said I am (by the way, thanks homeless lady with a cell phone, appreciate the help) you get a box to start a chat once you get tot that point. As my patience was already slightly thin, after about 7 mins of waiting for them to call the number I gave them I typed that I was going to cancel and go to Penske and the person replied with hang on I'll get you approved in just a moment. So, while you are doing all this stuff to not interact with a person, their are people in the background doing the EXACT SAME STUFF that you would do at the counter of the ace store or uhaul center or wherever you might go to interact with a person.

I did not like having to take pictures of my is and send them to the man at the counter. Now my info is out in a cloud somewhere. Nor did I like inspecting the rental van by comparing pictures from the text message. I prefer one on one human customer service. No discount for military????? Then upon returning during business hours. Just lay the keys on the counter and they will get to it. I did not appreciate that. I had to I spent the van using pictures they should inspect the van upon returning. So what customer service we actually had was very good. But using text messaging for pick up and inspection was annoying to say the least esp. When a live employee was there.

Overall i have had good experiences at this location however this time was not great. The truck was dirty. The app did not allow me to properly document the condition of the vehicle. It did not ask me to review the cargo area and when i got to my residence i found a hand dolly a furniture dolly and blankets all over the cargo hold. The truck smelled of smoke and had not been cleaned. The app also limits how many photos can be taken. Upon return i tried to have a person from there store help me return the vehicle since i found so many issues. I was instructed to use the app to return the truck. When i tried to note the truck needed cleaning i was going to be charged $25. i don't know that theconvenience of the app really pays off if the truck is not in great condition.

Answer their phone. Called, got put on hold, no one ever picked up. Had to register on line. After 5, no one at the store knew anything about U-Haul. On line check-out and check-in took to long - it was supposed to be faster. Would recommend based upon location not based upon service.

Well renting from U-Haul I reserved a spot for 9 o’clock in the morning at 8:45 I got a notice about how my rental has changed until 3 PM when I needed it for nine so I spent about an hour trying to figure out what was going on the lady who I talk to you in customer service was very rude the employees at Ace Hardware were very rude and smart to people when trying to rent a truck. This is my first time renting with U-Haul and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my entire life with customer service. I will never be renting from U-Haul or Ace Hardware ever again.

It took over an hour to rent, because the mileage was not accurate and neither was the gas. The back was covered in leaves. I brought it back clean and told jeff about this problem and was unable to see my bill. I was unhappy but it is the way things go.

Was supposed to pick truck up at 8:00 am. They didn’t have truck ready for 24/7 app pickup. I had to wait 2 more hours until they opened. It was a nightmare! I had hired movers who drove an hour to get to me at 9. No truck. Won’t rely on them again!

The hardware store I rented from opened at 8 am. I arrived at 8:10. When I went to the counter the girl informed me Uhaul didn’t open until 9am. I said ok and wandered around the store until 8:40, then the same girl came and got me and checked me out. It reminded me of an episode of Green Acres LOL. After that the service was great.

This was the most disgusting experience all around and felt totally ripped off. That place and u-haul should be reported and I may do that. The bill I ended up paying is the final straw. Extremely unfortunate is that because I was so caught up with seeing the gas level at not much over 3/8 while being reported to be at 3/4 I did not look at the mileage. There is no way is this living hell that I drove almost 90 friggin miles. I is no more than 10 miles each way for my 2 trips which is 40 adding 10 for a round trip to a local store makes it 50 so 60 would be a stretch. Extremely unfortunate #2 is I have it reserved for another day at the same friggin place. Somebady drove that truck using gas and miles before I got it

I started rental process on line, it switchex me to the 24/7 process. Next day on line access horrible customer service. The onsite staff was the saving grace for uhaul. I will not use the on line service again. Custoner service staff for the on line not helpful and rude!!!!!

Not necessarily unhelpful, but seemed inconvenienced that they had to deal with a customer. I returned a truck last week at same location at 5:00. By the time they got to me it was 5:02 and I was told to use after hours check in. This time at 4:30 she looked at watch and said just give me the key. That was it. For simplicity you can't beat it, but they sure didn't put themselves out. Did not ask for any feedback regarding truck.

I arrived at 5:00 to return the truck. By the time they finished with other customers (ACE Hardware) it was 5:02. The clerk informed me that since it was "after hours" (after 5:00) I would have to check the truck in via on-line and key drop box. That process is a pain.

I noticed I got charged 20 dollars for an 'after hours storage fee'. They knew that I was going to have the truck until 8pm and they closed at 5. I was there around 7:45 and dropped off the keys in the box. Not sure if I should have had it back by 5 instead but I just figured it is just more fees.

I made a reservation for a 15ft truck a month and a half in advance of the date needed. When I went to pick it up I was told they didn't have a 15ft truck but upgraded us to a 20ft truck "free of charge". We did not want or need a truck that size and nobody bothered to call us in advance to see if that was acceptable. My husband was very nervous about driving that size truck having no experience with it. We were traveling to Ball State. The most direct route was going up I69 which we normally travel. My husband did not feel comfortable driving on I69 with that truck so we went up 31 and then went east to get to Muncie. This route was much less traffic but was longer. This put us over on our allotted mileage which ended up costing us $21.00. So that"free" upgrade did not turn out to be free.

My rental was at 11am on for four hours. I was there at 10:55am to pick up. I waited in line until 11:20 and then had to leave to pick up my daughter from church. When I returned at 11:50, I again waited another 20-25 minutes just be be told, “You weren’t here at 11am so the truck you reserved was given to someone else.” The gentleman at the site was able to get me a truck larger than the one I reserved. It did not come without an additional delay though. Both times that I was in line waiting, there were customers that had issues with their rentals they were out of their control, caused by U-Haul. This is one of the poorest experiences that I have ever had with a service provider.
