I was supposed to get a 15ft truck. I booked it and travel from toronto to Ottawa on bus, that's 450km away. Even though I booked it for 12pm, and got there around 145pm. They gave away my truck, of which I had to take it due to not much available and I have nothing to travel around nor able to go to another U-Haul. What made me so mad was, they gave the truck away without asking or giving me a call to warn me ahead of time. I was late yes, however I booked it and either way I would pay for it. It was very inconvenient for me because now I have to go back to Ottawa on another day to finish moving everything that I needed. I took an Uber from where that bud drop me off to the U-Haul. If they called me to let me know, I would have book or look for 15ft truck in another place. Bad experience, yes, but I need the service. If I had to recommend to another person, No I do not think I would. Uhaul isn't considered for me, then I why should I be.nhut T.

I signed up for truck share 24/7 which was supposed to let me grab the truck before the office opened. The site didn't work and I lost 40 minutes of my reserved time.Margaret R.
Cabin of truck was quite dusty. The app isn't bad, but it would be nice if they used km's rather than miles.John T.
I did not receive the dolly I ordered with the truck, and no one answered the phone despite multiple calls, and voicemail message left was not returned the day of or following day. When we returned in person hoping to pick up the dolly, the office was closed despite advertised hours that it would be open for another hour. Customer Service was very good. However, truck bed was dirty, and the moving blankets I ordered were not available. As a result, I was given used blankets from other returned trucks. Truck also had a low tire pressure warning light on.Jeffrey H.

U-Haul needs to reduce their per km rate for short term truck rentals, especially if the customer is renting a truck for multiple days - it gets a little too pricey, and customers will go elsewhereLee S.

This Uhaul location over charged my rental by 300Miles, when I only used the 10' truck for 58,1km. My bill was 500,00 $ when it should have been under 100,00 $. I'm filing a complaint and fighting for my money back - this is a huge scam. The time of return is even incorrect. We picked up the vehicle at 10am and dropped off the vehicle at 3pm. Once again U-Haul has proven to be a shady operation. Though I had no issue with the booking agent he checked the gas level saying it was full - it was not, it was at 7/8 which I had him change and sign on my receipt. My booking clearly shows 0,89/km. The final receipt shows I was charged 1,43 $ for 46km. I would like a correction or at least an explanation as to why this is.Mike P.

Your app wouldn't work for me (Samsung Galaxy S9) so I had to call the help centre to get the truck. I ordered two Dolly's and 20 blankets and I got a total of 5 blankets, no Dolly's. Now after all the stress of moving I'll have to deal with your customer service to get the dolly and blanket money refunded. Why would you offer those options if you can't provide them? Why would I ever use Uhaul again after this?James N.

The location was fine, the information and instruction was not. At pickup I was told to drop the vehicle off and put the key in the mail slot. I was not told that I would need to log in while on-site to verify I was at the correct location. As I was moving, I did not have my phone with me and only saw the text message telling me this several hours later. I was then charged more despite not being told this was a requirement. I've rented trucks in the past and never had to do a check in like that. I'm very disappointed with the overall service and lack of explanation.Jennifer J.

The inside of the building where your business is located is filthy. I do not believe the floors has been swept in years. The service provided however was quick and efficient. The van had not been washed on the outside or swept out on the inside. There was gravel, stones, dried leaves on the floor in the back and front of the van. I actually went inside and told them the van was not clean. I was told the steering wheel, arm rests and seat belt had been sanitized. That was the only cleaning required. I brought the van home and swept it out before I started moving my furniture. The location works week for me but I was very disappointed in how dirty the van was.Nancy G.

Slow process at the front desk. The online check in didn't work and the customer in front of me found out they lost his reservation and didn't inform him until he arrived at the location. The location was also incredibly run down. I also reserved some moving blankets and not a dolly, but only the dolly instead.James B.

The check in process was glitched - it kept telling me to turn on location access when o already had. I spent 1/2 hour sitting in the parking lot waiting on hold for customer service, who gave me the solution that worked right away. PLEASE put COMPLETE instructions on your website so other customers don't run into this issue! It was really inconvenient and delayed my move.Isa C.
If you change the location from the preferred pickup location, an email explaining the change would be helpful. I was confused when I was sent the â€œhow to pick up your truckâ€ email because it indicated that I had to be in two places at once.Kaitlin L.
Everything was fine except the dolly. Utility flat bed dolly advertised online during the booking, but the actually dolly is terrible and essentially dangerous to use. Uhaul needs better dollies for use by everyday people without the help of professional movers.Kartikay S.

There was garbage and an unfolded blanket in the back. I had to throw out someone else's trash in order to not get an additional charge. The link wasn't work from the text message - I spent almost an hour trying to get the drop-off link to work. Had to open it from another app. Spent 20 minutes on hold with customer service to never get help. Tried using 4 difference electronic devices before trying to the last ditch attempt which was opening the same link from the facebook messenger app instead of the text app - and somehow that actually worked. Over all it was a very frustrating experience and I did not appreciate the lack of customer service or the charges for being late - when I got back in time but then spent an hour in the parking lot trying to return the van (because it wouldn't accept it with out a location confirmation from a device). I had my location turned on, it won't work, so I was stuck there. Hire more customer service or create an option for folks to pass the location confirmation step if they want to (if there tech isn't working for that bit).Miriam I.

I was charged30 $.dollars for something I can't read on the email contract. I rented a van for 24, drove 50klm, returned the van one hour before I was supposed to, with a three, quarter filled tank as when I picked it up. Yep extremely disappointed.Linda C.

The UHaul person was gone from at least 2:30pm onwards without warning, despite the sign saying it closed at 4pm. I waited an hour to try to return the van in-person only to give up and do it via the online option. He said he would be there when I returned the van but he was not - very annoying and I would have appreciated being told that he would be gone.Jaime S.

Trucks are not well kept. Doors were left open in the rain. Both inside and outside is dirty and there were some garbage on the floor and around cup holder which I had to remove myself. Also, I doubt that the truck was sanitizedEnkh-Amar E.

Comme cela ne semblait pas fonctionner, nous avons pris des photos et vidÃ©os sur place, avant de dÃ©poser les clÃ©s. Puis, lorsque nous avons quittÃ©, nous avons rÃ©ussi Ã ouvrir le formulaire, pour dÃ©couvrir qu'on ne pouvait pas soumettre de photos, mais seulement les prendre. Les photos semblent donc de mauvaise qualitÃ© car j'ai dÃ» me les envoyer par courriel pour les photographier sur un Ã©cran. The staff here were amazing. It was a really wonderful experience and I would recommend using again. All of the challenges from Uhaul truck rental (our trucks got rescheduled 3 times last minute and we had to change our move-in dates twice with the worst customer service I have ever seen) were somewhat made up for by how accommodating this non-uhaul storage facility was.
