After having to use a truck that was 6 feet smaller than the truck we reserved, and having to do multiple trips, we dropped off the truck to the location where noone was present. Then I received a receipt stating that I owe for.gas that I had already put in to match what was used, and kms that we were told were covered. Nobody was available to take my keys or check the truck that could speak English properly. 2 weeks later and I still have not received my $100 deposit back yet. I was told it would come in the mail in a week and nothing has come and no one is ever available over the phone. Very disappointed. The field the trucks were parked in was full mud and water at time of arrival. Still waiting for my money to be returned and my have to contact the local authorities if needed.Curtis B.

The rental that I had confirmed was not available upon arrival and the retailer didn't have a clue as to where it was or why it wasn't there. I had to settle for a smaller truck which required multiple trips, resulting in an increase in cost on an already tight budget. They also did not have the appropriate dolly that I had reserved and was given a much heavier dolly that was ultimately useless for the job I was doing. I was also just given the key witb the truck number on it and sent on my way, and when returning the truck I found the facility locked and had to ring the doorbell for service, at which time I was met by a young boy of maybe 10 years old who took the key. When I asked if I had to sign anything further or speak to anyone, I was told no and he just walked back inside the building. Overall, not a great experience at all in my opinion, and I will definitely not recommend thisocation to anyone looking for Uhaul equipment.Scott P.

I reserved a one-way trip 26' cube via 24/7 pick up destination Cornwall to Gananoque for approx $147, upon arrival the location did not prepare the unit and was closed at the scheduled time, left stranded and in urgency as this unit was rented for us to move on a real estate sale closing day we called U-HAUL customer line whom offered a 15' cube and enclosed trailer at another location, with a $50 "inconvenience fee credit" and free trailer. Upon visiting the other location with the 15' unit and small enclosed trailer it was clear this would not suffice our required volume to haul, we required a 26' as per the reservation, this location then released a 26' unit on the account that we return it same day (300KM round trip). Therefore our travel expense went from $147 to a pre-paid cash point of sale expense of $547 in addition to a total of $175 in fuel. I spoke with U-Haul customer line again once we arrived at our destination in Gananoque prior to returning to Cornwall asking if they could make an adjustment and allow us to save the return mileage fee's and fuel and drop of at our original drop off destination just out side of Gananoque, she explained it was a Cornwall owned truck needed to be returned which we understood and quite bluntly the representative said she could create a customer case number and have someone reach out within 72HRS though "not to get my hopes up" that I can anticipate only receiving a $50 inconvenience credit on the guaranteed reservation not following through. In conclusion, we relied on a guaranteed reservation that did not hold its promise being unavailable, we lost time in finding another location without our reserved dolly and mats included in the original location reservation, we then had to return the unit from Gananoque back to Cornwall an approximate 1HR45MIN drive and returned back to Gan via a cab to our new home from Cornwall, we incurred additional $400 expense in rental fees and half of our total $175 fuel bill therefore a total additional cost of $487,5 plus cab fare from Cornwall to Gan of $200. All of the U-Haul units advertise save on travel and fuel costs hauling with our equipment and guaranteed service. Yet the customer service rep dealing with a polite interaction in a blunt tone states we can only anticipate a $50 credit and to take care then quickly hanging up after I acknowledged I did want to speak to the complaint file representative within the 72HRS. This is the worst undelivered promise and triple reserved expense let alone our additional time lost, additional mover fee's due to additional time, and cab fair back from Cornwall to Gan. I will never deal with UHaul again and I will share this experience in effort to save any other movers for being put in such a horrible situation. I run a business and we treat people fairly when unfortunate circumstances arise, we the customer in this circumstance at no fault of our own incurred triple the expense because your organization did not deliver its promise and additional time and stress. This entire reservation should be credited including our additional fuel expenses.Mary A.

When I arrived to drop off the trailer, the one person that was working there was about to take their child to school and I was left to unhook and park the trailer on my own. I am surprised that a company, the size of U-Haul, and who has been around as long as U-Haul, Is run as incompetently and unorganized as I have experienced.Ken D.

I had to rent a doley for the big aplyance they had only a box doley I had to call to get a 20 foot truck after I paid for truck they wanted to give me 17 I had to move a two bedroom house in one time and had to wait for the peaple to move out I said if I don,t get at least a 20 foot to give my money I paid a head I would go some place els I rented u haul before lot time and never problem like this at the office were ok with me but no poduct to give me to use I think head office of this company needs a waking upRichardT V.

Got to the place and our 26 foot trailer was missing a windshield wiper. Luckily they had another 26 foot trailer there they swapped it for us but even then every truck on the lot was full of ice and snow, vehicle needed an alignment had to drive it with given it was almost an hour to get the vehicle in the first place. Seen another customer had to tow their U-Haul our of the parking spot as it was cover in snow and ice. Very poor presentation, desk person was nice but everything else was poor.JACOB W.

Truck cabin wasn't the cleanest when I got it. (Dog food in cup holder?) I was annoyed when I found out that would need to be the one paying the $25 cleaning fee at check out, if I said the truck wasn't clean enough for the next family. The truck bed had a dolly and several (dirty) furniture pads scattered across the truck. I did not pay for, or need, any of this equipment. Just took up space for nothing. I guess that I will be checking the truck bed before leaving with a truck (if I ever decide to rent from uHaul again.) I left the truck cleaner than when I picked it up, and I'm frustrated that I had to be the one to clean it.Mathieu H.

Improve booking so that you are warned earlier that the truck will not be available at the set location. Drop off took 40mins wait on the phone because the website was down. I was pretty unimpressed with this location. The previous day when I rented the truck, I didn't even get the option to refuse insurance. They just added it. When I went to return the truck, my car was blocked in by a Uhaul van. I had to move the van myself that was blocking my car. I had to take a picture of the kilometers/fuel for the vehicle I was returning and show it to the person at the desk. I did ask to have insurance removed; they agreed to do so, but does not to appear to have been done. Will never set foot in this location again.Peter G.

The staff at this location need to provide customers with more information up front. I was never advised that my mileage rate was going to be $1,47 because I drove over 10mi. I also had to move 2 larger trucks to access the truck that I rented while the attendant stood and watched me. This location also did not inspect the truck before or after my trip. The gas level was EMTPY when I picked up the truck, so I returned it on EMPTY. The attendant advised me that I was responsible for filling the tank even though I picked it up on empty. I have pictures of the odometer and gas level pre and post. When I was surprised about the price ($0,59 vs $1,47/mi) I asked for a receipt or confirmation so I could review and I was advised that they are unable to provide paper copies. As far as I know, as a consumer, you are legally obligated to provide me with a written breakdown of what I'm paying at the time of the transaction.phillip B.

I have used Uhaul multiple times now, either for myself or family. This was the most unprofessional place that I used. To start with, no one had verbally alerted me to the change in pick-up address so I went to the wrong address, a good 20 minute drive away. Then this location had a very unprofessional worker. Granted, he was young, I would be surprised if he was even 15, so some leeway could be provided. However, he was not wearing a mask, he was slouched over his phone when we entered and as we left, and when we came back in with some garbage items from the truck, and he would not do the walk around the truck with us, even though that had been protocol at every other location I have ever rented from in prior years and requested it personally. This is when he had also stated that the truck had been assessed and cleaned since the last user. The truck had dirty wrappers and food packages on the inside, dried spilled drinks, and smelt rancid, like vomit. We personally had to remove everything and wipe it down with our own Lysol wipes to remove the smell. The building that we had to pick stuff up in was not the cleanest neither, it was cluttered, and looked like someone's personal living room with the well and commonly used appearance, not the clean you expect of a motel. There was even a very distracting fish tank which was emptied to the point that the filter was not able to take in water, I think the only reason the glass was as clean as it was was because a Placoe had been inside it to clean algea. Also, the door to their private area (behind reception desk) was open, and the grandmother lady with a cane was trying to push shoes with her cane that were piled throughout that open doorway to the side so that she could get through the door safely to walk. Which brings concerns to the safety of others there. The next day, I got a call from a customer service worker at UHaul about the fact that I was not given a location to drop off the truck, even though the worker at this place had mentioned it. This customer service worker was AMAZING! He asked if we had anything else to speak about, even though he had been the one to call us, and had opened up the opportunity for us to bring our complaint of the experience up. He was very professional, and by the end of the call we were aware of the plan going forward and to expect a call within 48 hours from this location. Speaking of which, that deadline has passed over 24 hours ago, and I have still not received a call. Overall, I am very frustrated, feel sorry for that grandmother, and the fish, and am grossed out from this location and truck.NATALIEREBECCA S.
We arrived 10 minutes before we were to pick up the rental and the business sign said open but we had to ring the bell numerous times before someone finally answered the door. The truck was definitely not sanitized or cleaned out, there was a little car in one of the cup holders and a granola bar in another. There was a dolly in the back which took up space that we needed and did not request. I did not want to pick up at this site based on reviews I read and us stopping there and not getting help because the girl did t know anything about the uhauls. If I wanted to use this location I would have chosen it to begin with. I do not like choosing a location and then uhual telling me where I must pick upMICHELE K.
