Truck was full of mud, had to mop it before we could use it.lonnie W.
Did not get our utility dolly and we were on a tight schedule so we did not open the truck to look inside. As a result we have paid the $10 rental fee and another $150 for a missing utility dolly (that we never had) and we had to buy our own for $80 at Walmart. The uhaul truck sounded horrible as driving it down the high way if we went above 50mph the steering wheel shook very bad. It took us three days to get to our destination. The chains on the car dolly need replaced. It was missing the rubber things. No one hooked the trailer up for us. The hook-up picture was not taken. They did not check in the car dolly until the next morning, when we returned it around 7 pm the night before, and they close at 8 pm. I rented a truck before from them, the inside was dirty and the windshield was so dirty, I could hardly see out of it, and the wiper fluid just smeared it around :( They need to do their job, and do it better!Loretta L.

They sent us off with a trailer that had two bad tires, one so bald that the nylon string was showing through on part of it. We didn't see it at hookup because the bumper hid it, but after we discovered it we needed to Stop in Bismarck to get the tires replaced. They also did not have 2 inch balls in stock, so I needed to go find an auto parts store that did, which delayed us by a good while. I have rented perhaps two dozen U-Haul trailers in the past, and always with a 1-7/8 inch ball. We were not notified in advance that U-Haul was switching their hitches to require 2 inch balls.ERROL M.

Need more pick-up and drop-off locations in south central North Dakota. I had to pick-up the 10-foot truck in Aberdeen, SD then I had to travel another 100 miles to get the auto transport at jamestown, ND.Carel S.

Had to hook up my own trailer. My trailer lights weren't working. Reported issue to the u haul guy and was told it was my truck and to go to chevy to try to get my lights fixed. Wasn't comfortable driving without trailer lights. Was a Saturday and chevy said they couldn't get me in. U haul gave me a 12 foot trailer to haul an 18 foot car. Car wouldn't fit properly on trailer at all. Very dangerous situation. Decided not to haul the car due to wrong size trailer and no trailer lights. Called the 1-800 number and tried to return the trailer from where I got it and u haul told me that I would be charged a considerable fee if I did not take my trailer with me back to Wyoming. Had an 8 hour drive to make to get back home. Very unhappy that I was lied to about the trailer, Sent out with knowing the trailer lights weren't working, and not allowed to return the trailer and forced to take it with me otherwise I'd be slapped with a fee. Makes me sick to my stomach I wasted soo much money on a trip and u haul completely screwed me and didn't give a second thought to help me out. Never again.BRAD LEE W.
My contract was incorrect in that I was over-charged for the blankets I rented, and I was also billed for a utility dolly which I did not order. I am still awaiting refunds to my card for these errors.NANCY V.

I was very disappointed to learn the night before I needed the truck that I was going to have to drive over three hours to go get the truck. I am sure that information was available sooner. If I would have been able to get the truck the day before, it would have been much easier on me. I am sure that this is done to not loose a customer, but next time I need a truck, I will remember this in my decision of what company to go with. I had also asked for a car hauler. I learned the night before that there was not even one available. This too was probably known long before the night before. I had to travel almost 6 hours in another direction to get a car hauler.Chris C.

It took about 30-45 minutes to check in, while he tried to figure out why this was so messed up. He finally called the National number and they explained that I was in fact correct, and all was well for me. But again, this mess cause not only J&L Service to loose a sale, but U-Haul to lose a client, but possibly gain some seriously bad publicity. Living in a rural state, a whole lot of folks have to make some very long drives to get the services they need (I had to drive over a hundred mile myself to pick up the 26' truck I rented and would have been VERY unhappy, if it had not been available).ROBERT C.
I booked my Uhaul with the Insterstate Uhaul location in Bismarck, ND in store with an employee. Two days later I get a phone call from them saying they may not have a uhaul for me. I don't hear anything over the weekend, so I I attempted to call and speak with them and they would not answer the phone. I actually attempted calling this location on 3 different accounts and every time the phone was left ringing for 30 minutes or more with no one answering to even ask me to hold. I go to the store in person and they are not busy, so I am able to ask for an update on my uhaul. At this point they tell me I may have to drive all the way to Rapid City, SD from Bismarck, ND for one and that they would not drop it off to the location in which I reserved it. There was no apology, no help what-so-ever for this potentially HUGE inconvenience. I finally get word two days before pick up day that I am to go to Jamestown, ND to pick up the uhaul; while considerably closer, still a long drive to go pick the uhaul when in the middle of moving. I arrive to J-L and the manager (at least I think he was) was very condescending to his employees and telling the "shut up" etc. The uhaul itself was fine as far as equipment goes, a little dirty, but in working order. I did not have a very good experience with uhaul and would hesitate to ever use uhaul again after this. If whoever is reading this wants further information on the experience customers receive at the Interstate uhaul in Bismarck, head over to Google reviews. It only has 2,8 stars with plenty of people having same or similar issues with service from them.Erin D.

Picked the trailer up on a Sunday afternoon. No trouble. Someone hooked the trailer up for me. Nice guy, didn't catch his name. He made me laugh. I asked him if there was a spare. "No." Are the bearing on the trailer packed and road worthy? "Should be." My comment was, "That's why you should buy the road way asst package." I didn't and had not problems.CRAIG P.

When we rented the truck, the person in Bismarck was a great help getting us a truck. We were called the night before and the location to pick up the truck was confirmed. When we got to the location in Jamestown there was no truck. We had to go to a second location and found out the truck we requested was broken. Fortunately there was another truck there which we were upgraded to. We were told that that truck had 7/8 tank of gas but actually only had 1/4 tank of gas. They could not print up any paperwork for us, they were friendly but not very professional. Once on the road everything went great but up until that time UHaul was very painful and time consuming.Robert B.
I gave this location a 1 star for the fact that we had to travel ~260 miles total to get the trailer. After reserving a covered trailer almost 3 weeks in advance, to have to travel 3 hours to get the reserved trailer, is quite frankly unacceptable. Especially since no compensation for time/gas was offered. Terrible service!!Kyle S.

I struggle to understand how it cost over $400 on the same equipment to make the same trip (returning home, North Dakota to Houston) when compared to $150 to leave home (Houston to North Dakota). I am terribly disappointed and will no longer use UHAUL due to this ridiculous gouging. ESPECIALLY due to the fact that I was assured prior to departing Houston, that I would be charged the same price to return, since I asked prior to initiating the rental.Justin S.

Each time I have received an email, I have responded that you have the wrong address, and nothing has been fixed. They went above and beyond to help me out! I had to pick up my truck at a different location and that location Norway Inn is a total disaster. No walkthrough no paperwork. They could not be bothered to leave their office. I asked if they could assist me with the hookup and loading of my car on the dolly and he asked me what I wanted me to do. The person at J and L Service came along with me to Norway Inn and hooked up the Dolly and loaded my car. J and L is the best! Norway Inn gives Uhaul a bad name!Mary H.
