Didn't get a receipt. You should be asking about the whole process, not just the pick up and drop off sites. I was satisfied with the people and trailer once we pinned down where we were supposed to pick it up. The UHaul process isn't that great. I thought I had a trailer reserved close to Conover, WI for a specific date. I called a month ahead to reserve it. We ended up having to go way out of our way to pick it up. When I complained on the phone, I was told your policy was that you'd guarantee me a trailer, but couldn't guarantee how far I'd have to drive to pick it up. Not acceptable. Will never rent a uhaul again. I'd buy a trailer before renting from uhaul in the future.

The UHaul desk was not easy to find. Manny was friendly enough but DID NOT walk out with us to help us find the vehicle or give any instruction. We were not aware until we arrived at our location that there was a small leak in the roof. This leak issue was written on the back of or ticket but WAS NOT pointed out to us. Luckily there was no damage, only wet blankets. Also, less than 24 hours before our scheduled pick up time we were told we would have to go to this Huntley location NOT our "preferred spot" (fine print) in our home town. We had to drive 45 minutes to pick up the truck. Appreciate the extra day & 50 miles but think this is poor customer service. Why couldn't the truck have been brought to our preferred location? We had to concede as there was not time to make changes with the movers.

Was told our "U-Haul guy isn't in today, we'll try to figure it out". Tried to find me a car hauler when I reserved a 6' x 12' closed trailer.

First off I reserved the truck near where I live in Rockford way before time then Uhaul cancelled that and made me drive an hour out of my way to Huntley to get the truck. I called the new pickup location the day before and spoke to the owner. He said he would be open at 9:30am and would have my dollies ready to go. MB Garage where we were picking up the truck was not open as promised. I spoke to his next door neighbor and he said MB Garage is NEVER open on the weekends. So I was lied to. I even told him that Uhaul called me and said I could pick up the truck at 9am. And he strictly said I could not pick it up until 9:30am when he opens. He had no intention of opening on Saturday, so why did he insist on 9:30am when he knew I would have to use the self serve option. Then on Saturday after waiting for him to arrive, we had to spend almost an hour using the self service option on the phone. Then we found out he did not put the pads, or both dollies in the truck as he promised. We had to get those from another Uhaul location and it wasted another hour or so. After waiting for a while for MB to open, I called the Uhaul 1-800 number. That was another joke. The first guy had to transfer me. Then the 2nd guy just sent me a text with video and got me off the phone. All the video said basically was to log in to my Uhaul.com account. The first and 2nd guy could have just told me that. What ever happened to normal communication? Once logged in to my Uhaul.com account, the steps were pretty easy and the video was not needed and redundant. What a time waster that all was on top of the other wasted time.

I won't drop off another truck to this place in Huntley again. I'll use Huntley self storage. Between the pick up and drop off it was a terrible experience with u-haul.

Uhaul sent us to 2 separate locations for drop off. We did not need the responsiblity of unhitching the trailor. Uhaul area supervisor said they would NOT charge for additional days after relocating. Charged us the extra days, and tried making up with a $25 credit that barely covered the gas back and forth.

Van was not clean (driver's area). Its a cargo van so no big deal. The location is VERY convenient and it is VERY VERY easy to rent a van simply with your phone. Great process!

Requested moving blankets with my order. No blankets were available. Also, I was moving from Cary, IL and requested a pick-up in Crystal Lake, IL. Because I was using the vehicle for a one-way move I was told I couldn't use any of the vehicles in Crystal Lake despite placing the reservation well in advance. Felt like a second-rate customer because I was using the vehicle for a one-way move.

I had reserved a truck in Rockford IL that was supposed to have a dolly and furniture covers in the back to use for my move. The DAY BEFORE my move I was told my rental was available in Huntley IL (45 minutes away). This was not ideal, but I chose to go along with it. Upon arrival in Huntley I was told that the man who runs the Uhaul shop there was "not in" and that I should come back later. After fighting that for a while I was able to get the truck, but there was no equipment in the back (the equipment that I had on my reservation), and it was connected to a trailer that I did not request. I had to drop it myself in the pouring rain. All in all this experience was not smooth, and it cost me too much time/extra money. MBgarage is not a place I would ever recommend, and uhaul was not very accommodating in this whole situation.

The owner at this location is a thief. I used a truck for a local move and only drove 7.4 miles. The truck was slightly below 1/2 when I picked it up. I put in about 1 gallon of gas from my lawnmower gas can. When I returned the truck the owner marked the gas at 3/8 and charged me $13.50 for the fuel. I told him the facts and he said blame Uhaul and there is nothing he can do. I attempted to argue my point and was basically called a liar and then told to get the f... out of his shop. Completely unprofessional establishment.

Transmission did not shift smoothly and truck got less than 8 miles per gallon, which seems due to automotive defects. Pricing per mile should be in ranges. Because I drove 120 miles, the cost of the rental was $200 for 24 hours. In contrast, I did a one-way rental from Arizona to Illinois (2,600 miles) for $700.

Upon arrival I was told they could not find the key for the van rented three days prior. They tried to upsell me a much larger truck, of which I would have to pay the difference. I called U-Haul customer service, and they were VERY helpful. They agreed to honor the price for the smaller vehicle. When I told the desk guy about that, lo and behold, the key turned up. I can't help but think they were being less than honest. It ended up working out exactly as intended, but I will not go back to that location.

Truck was not clean when picked up, nothing was ready when I arrived after reserving on-line. Was charged a $25 cleaning charge? The truck was used for 1 load of high end furniture, nothing dirty and pads were used. No garbage was in the cab when dropped off, only the pads since the business was closed (so the pads were not stolen). I will rent elsewhere if cleaning charges will be assessed for no reason, the truck was in the same location as it was dropped off.

I scheduled 9am pickup. No one was at facility till 9:20. When I told the guy I had a 9am appointment, he told me I was lucky he came at all that morning. He said I'd made the appt with U-Haul, not him. Told me to "wait outside". His wife tried to help me but didn't speak English. They had their very young son at work with them, maybe 18 months old. The whole setup was inappropriate. The man was extremely rude. He could not give me a receipt, said he'd take care of it later. (?) Will not recommend, nor use U-Haul again. U-Haul needs to reconsider your relationship with this guy.

I was expecting to pay $19.95 plus $.59 per mile. I was not told that the mileage rate is higher on the weekend! I was not in a hurry and could have done this on a weekday if I was told! Very poor customer service!
