Make a note in pricing that insurance in mandatory. If insurance is not mandatory, I would like to speak with customer service, because I was informed by attendant daily insurance was mandatory.

In Ketchikan the office hours are not available on Saturdays, so the customer is forced to rent a day early and pay for the day they don't need-- it would be nice if you made the online rental pick up available in Ketchikan so that we can pick up on Saturdays-- it was strange to be able to return on Sunday without anyone in the office, as well as pick up Friday evening without anyone in the office-- but I could not rent on Saturday, so had to pay for Friday when I didn't need the truck-- very disappointing

I LOVED the truck!! So fun to drive! Made me want to be a truck driver! Also, was well priced and despite being a couple miles out of town still fine to access as there was a spot to leave my car overnight. That really saved the day! Not only will I rent from here again soon to move a few more large items but I would happily recommend others rent from here as well. A satisfied customer describes me well!

Chick couldn't manage to email my receipt, she didn't even log the unit in properly. Got a call from Anchorage asking when I was gonna return it. Then I had to drive to another storage lot park and unhook it my self. Folks in Anchorage had to sort out the entire contract bcuz of her. This incident will not preclude me from uhaul in the future, overall you are an outstanding outfit and the inability for one person to do her job correctly shouldn't reflect on the entire organization. To be fair a week later we got a new manager and she is fantastic.

Worse customer service ever. We rang the bell 10 times..no answer, we called 3 different phone numbers listed, at least 10 times each. No answer, we had reserved for 9am pick up and were right on time. After fifteen mimutes we went to privste residence on site and knocked very hard repeatedly until a 2 yr old answered the door and we told him to get his mom. She finally came and said she heard us repeatedly calling and knocking but was having a friend work for her that day so she did not feel she needed to answer oir calks or the office door even thougn she is the manager. I asked forthe number of her superior and she said she wasnt allowed to give it out. I had heard this was a horrible uhaul place and it is true

I have several complaints: 1. I called this facility several times in the days before my reservation pick-up date, and they never called back. I even dropped by their offices during business hours and the door was locked and no one answered. 2. My appointment for pick-up was 9am on 7/13/19. I arrived at 8:55am and the office was locked, the lights off. I waited till 9, then tried again. No one was there. I called all three numbers posted on the front door, but no one answered. I rang the doorbell several times. After more than 10 MINUTES of waiting, I heard noise in the upstairs floor. 3. The lady came down in a pajama shirt and very unprofessional yoga pants. She seemed half asleep, and had trouble functioning. Upon entering her office, I was caught off guard by a foul smell, as well as mess and clutter everywhere. She apparently lives in the same building in which she'd set up her office, and it clearly showed. There was junk piled around all the walls, and the only real evidence of it being an "office" was that there was a computer desk with a chair on each side. 4. She spent 45 minutes of my time unnecessarily in that office. She was late, her computer wasn't booted up and ready to go, her printer wasn't functioning properly, and she didn't know the answers to most of my questions. 5. She asked if I wanted insurance. I asked for details. She literally did not know. She couldn't tell me how much coverage applied to what within each policy, nor did she know about the scheduling details (like if I'd be covered if I returned the u-haul past the set return date). She had to Google search this information. I was baffled by her incompetency. 6. She printed me a receipt, but her printer cut off 2 inches of text from the right-hand of the page...including much of the "fine print" and the actual charges. Instead of fixing her printer, she just hand-wrote the price totals. Again: I was baffled by the unprofessional performance of this person. 7. When we finally got everything settled and left the office to get the trailer, I realized the trailer was not on-site (though several u-haul trucks were and there was room for it). Instead of guiding/driving me to the location of the trailer in her annex parking lot so that she could make sure I hooked up properly and was off without a problem, she instead settled for pointing down the road and saying "turn right over there beyond the guardrail, open the gate to the parking lot, and hook up to the trailer nearest the gate." This was made worse by the fact that I wandered around looking for the parking lot, which was neither marked with a sign nor obvious. I spent over $1,700 to rent your u-haul. I expected prompt, professional, competent service. I received the opposite. I expected to walk into your office, quickly do some paperwork, pay you, then walk out with you 10 minutes later so that you could help me hook my truck up to your trailer--which I expected to be sitting in front of your offi

Couldn’t reach this office for days of calling and leaving messages. Finally went to location. Rang the buzzer as indicated on window. Man opened upstairs window and yelled that ‘she will be down in a minute’. I waited for twenty. Freezing cold outside. I rang buzzer again. Man opened window again and screamed down at me, “you don’t have to push the f*****g buzzer! She’ll be down when she gets there!” I waited another 10 minutes. Finally, woman arrives to open the door. As I step inside she explained that she was sick in bed. I told her she should indicate that she’s not open for business if she’s too sick. I asked her why her coworker upstairs cursed at me. She said she didn’t know it had happened. (Hard to believe because he was screaming) anyway it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The office was absolutely disgusting. Trash, debris, personal items, garbage and paperwork strewn everywhere. It was filthy, dusty and dirty. It smelled bad. I was going to rent a truck for a week but after this encounter I changed my reservation to only two days just to get my move done and then rented a container to be shipped instead of using UHaul. Never in my life have I had such a horrible experience while trying to spend my hard earned money. I’m actually worried about this woman and her children. Upon return no one was there, during posted hours.

the lady wasn't helpful at all. I showed up 3 different times during business hours and nobody was there, and she wouldn't answer her phone. then I needed help attaching the trailer, I needed an adapter for the trailer lights, and the previous customer left a padlock on the door.. but the lady had no interest in helping with these issues. she drove off before I could even get hooked up.

They sent me out with tires that were bald, knowing I was traveling the Al Can Hwy towing my car. I had asked about the tires, and was told they are changed quarterly.

I am concerned about the additional charge as I was told not to worry about bringing in the Truck after the 10:00 AM time. We were not given access to the truck by the Barge Company as it was locked in a fenced location until Monday morning. I spoke with the agent and told about the problem and she told us "not to worry about it" She said that we could bring in the truck after I got off work that evening. I could have taken off from work and unloaded it if I had known that she was going to charge us but she said "don't worry about it, you can bring it after you get off from work." Hence, I am confused about the additional charge.

Be more readily available. phone numbers posted everywhere are incorrect and when you do call correct number no one answers! I made at least four calls before someone finally answered and then it was like I was an inconvenience! If it wasn’t the only game in town would not recommend them. But then again it served its purose. Rant over!

This is by far the most unprofessional business transaction that I have had in my entire life. I returned the U-Haul truck on Friday August 4, and my bill still has not been resolved. The final invoice overcharges by saying the vehicle was returned on Monday August 7th, which is impossible because I got on a plane and left Ketchikan on August 4. I can send a plane ticket stub if I need to prove it. Not only is the local store in Ketchikan incompetent, but so is the regional store in Anchorage, and corporate HQ. It shouldn't be this hard to pay a bill. Going back to the Ketchikan store, I don't have enough time to explain how gross and disorganized this place was. First off, the front entrance is locked and the "owner" lives upstairs. You have to call her on the phone and wait outside for 10 minutes as she meanders downstairs. She lets you in to a small, dank, piss-smelling room. She repeatedly apologized about the smell. I don't care if you have a new puppy, this is a place of business and its disgusting and hard to breath. I had to open the door because it was literally choking me with ammonia. She is also a new mother, which is not a complaint whatsoever. that being said, when I went to pay my bill upon return, the baby was crying in the back of the room at the top of its lungs. I have two kids so im not really overly bothered by this. However, we were having issue getting the bill resolved, and she basically said, "I have to deal with my baby, I have your card information and we'll be in touch," and shuffled me out of the door and locked it. I 100% understand that a small child is the #1 priority for a mother, but if you're running a business, you cant shirk off customers and let your business suffer, you need to figure out an alternative. I was on state of Alaska business when I checked out the truck, and my state card was not being processed. I gave her my personal card just so that I could put down a refundable deposit and be on my way (and to get out of the disgusting ammonia tank of a front office). When I returned the truck and my state card wasn't working still, I specifically said "I DO NOT GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO CHARGE MY PERSONAL CARD!!!" I couldn't have stressed it more. She had all of my contact info, the number for the state card, my business card, etc. I told her to let me know if there were issues and I can work with her. She proceeded to charge my personal card instead of just calling or emailing me to try and resolve the issue. ****U-Haul, I am letting you know that because of this experience, I will no longer be using your services at any location. This is beyond excusable and I have never had such a bad experience with any business. This women should be stripped of her franchising duties, she's a disgrace!!!***

I called on a Friday to rent a u-haul for moving a week in advance. The lady on the other end of the phone was not very helpful at all. I was looking to rent a u- haul for the following Sunday her response was I'm not open on the weekend and then hung up on me. After calling back she said she would be in on Sunday to check one In and to be there at 10am. Upon showing up the out side of the u-haul place looked like a garbage dump and the inside of the building looked like some one was living In it. The lady didn't have anything ready and took her over 45 mins to get my paper work ready the whole time I had to intertwine her 4 month old cause he was screaming and crying while the father sat out side and smoked. Will never go to this place again.

The local contractor was very unprofessional and very difficult to work with. She had no idea I had made the reservation online a month prior, and acted like she was doing me a favor to rent me the truck. On the day of rental, her power was out, and she refused to call U-haul to complete the reservation, stating it couldn't be completed via phone, when indeed that is how we completed it. This person is doing a great disservice to U-haul. She is quite unprofessional and somewhat combative in dealing with her customers.

Due to ocean weather, state ferry was late. The u haul lady told me over the phone that they would waive the two day extra charges for being late turning it in.. Not so. Another$160.
