We have rented many UHAUL trucks over the past 5 years and we have never had as good an experience as we have with John (and Kevin) at Northwest Sporting Goods! There was a problem with our reservation (the truck we ordered was not available) but both men came together and figured out a solution to the problem so that we could continue with our move plans. John was especially helpful and went â€œAbove and Beyondâ€ for us. He was pleasant, helpful, caring and knowledgeable. We were so fortunate to have had such a competent employee helping us during a very stressful move. Thank you for helping us to go forward with our moving plans by coming up with a quick fix that made our move possible! We are SO grateful for your help and expertise.CriCri G.

This location was closed, however a lock box for keys was provided. We had to return the vehicle on line. The app had a step by step process which was good, however it did not work properly. Both my husband an I took the required pictures (too many) and tried several times to upload the required pictures. This part of the app did not work. We both called Uhaul individually, after about 15 minutes the representative who was very pleasant, than transferred my call. At this point,my husband hung up his phone while I was still holding. He tried a 4th time to return the truck using the app, only to be directed to another section requiring more photos. At this point I am still in the que over half and hour and counting. After about another 15 minutes my husband finally uploaded the required photos. I was still on hold . A few minutes later he received confirmation and I hung up. What would I have done if I didn't have a smartphone? I believe there was and additional 20 $charge if this wasn't done. ðŸ˜'TIMOTHY B.

When I reserved the truck I also ordered 2 dozen blankets and a hand truck, neither of which they had on pickup. I was not notified prior to arrival. The gentleman at the store said he's been trying to get blankets for a month. He gathered what he had for me unfortunately it wasn't enough and several of my furniture pieces were damaged.Melissa J.

Truck had over an 147 000 miles on it, the check engine light was on, and truck didn't run well.Robert J.

Help was courteous and accommodating. When I explained to them that I had to drive an extra 10 miles both ways to get to the vehicle, plus another 10 miles to my destination, they added mileage to the move to compensate. Very reasonable compromise. The vehicle, however was dirty. I had to sweep and wash down the unit before it could be used for a furniture move. I also do not understand why I had to pay more than my contract price for the vehicle because of the switched pickup location, as that was not my doing. Given that the location help was so accommodating on the mileage issue, I chose not to make a fuss about a few bucks. Finally, this location had limited moving blankets and could not fill my order.Brian M.

The location is a gun shop where no one was wearing a mask. The employees were nice and helpful but the environment is potentially uncomfortable for some.Maria C.
It was filthy, full of the previous occupant's trash. They also left cigar ash, loose tobacco, a damaged cargo area, and missing yellow roof tabs. I documented it and did everything on my end to the letter before renting. Picked up and dropped off remotely, as directed to by your App. Despite it being an unpleasant environment to spend 6+ hours, I accomplished what I needed to, returned the Van on time, and followed the instructions in the App for returning it. I threw out my trash and the trash that was already in the vehicle when I rented it, but obviously did not clean up the ash, dirt, tobacco, etc that was left by the previous occupant. I noted this in the UHaul App and yet was hit with specious charges that I tried to dispute unsuccessfully. I feel scammed and taken advantage of by an unethical business that I will never patronize again because this was such a negative and trying experience in every sense.Arnon F.

The dirt lot is riddled with debris that include screws and other foreign objects. It is easy to enter and exit from though. Also idk why there aren't more locations closer to the Norfolk /Canaan area. I had got charged for extra mileage due to that inconvenience.JOSEPH A.
The truck was not ready upon pickup time. It was broke down. Two movers were supposed to be ready at 8:30 am, they were not. They said it would be between11:30-12:30. Then they sent a text saying it would be another 40 minutes. What should of taken a few hours resulted in being all day. I would NOT recommend the moving company again.Richard P.

They were NOT included and I contacted Northwest Sporting Goods and they stated they would remove the items from the order because they did not have any available. While Northwest Sporting Goods did a wonderful job in helping us hook up the wrong trailer and answer our questions, U Haul (the company) did a horrible job with getting us the trailer we wanted in the place we wanted. We planned ahead and made our reservation early, and checked on it two weeks, and then one one week prior to rental, only to be given the wrong trailer at the wrong location!! Their answer to my complaint was, â€œYou can have the wrong trailer, at the wrong location, or you can cancel the order.â€ U Haul has extremely poor, actually non-existent, customer service. Find another place to rent your trailer or truck!Ben P.
