I did everything on my own. I went after hours to drop the car after cleaning it by myself and I did the self checkout. the location was in the middle of nowhere and I didn't meet anyone so I can't judge their service

I placed a reservation for a 17 ft truck and when I got there they gave me a 15 ft truck. As the 2 men behind the counter were checking me out they kept saying "oh it gave her the broken down one". On the website when I made the reservation it said that if I didn't get what I ordered I would get $50. They also charged me the price for the 17ft truck.

Well I had to go to Winsted, CT to get the UHaul when there was a UHaul in my town. The problem is New Hartford, CT never seems to have any trucks. I suggest moving some trucks around so people don't have to travel so far to get a UHaul.

Got a flat tire, waited over an hour for roadside assistance. They arrived and didn't know how to change a tire so they left in under 10 minutes of being there. Took 45 minutes to get in touch with Uhaul corporate number. Ended up changing tire by myself with no assistance.

I was booked into a local location and UHaul called and changed the location to one 8 miles further away with the promise of a $50 discount. However, when the contract was finalized the discount was not there. I do not appreciate the bait and switch and having to pay more in mileage due to a change that UHaul made. Have to think twice about booking my next rental with UHaul.

Agent/contact people at Northwest were great. Truck cab itself was full of crumbs when picked up plus an open bottle of water. In days of Covid this is not really acceptable. Change oil light was on, so maintenance questionable..Agent prepared me about oil light so it was not as stressful as it might have been. Van performed well and cargo space was cleaner than cab. Again Northwest Sports people were great.

The trailer was not hooked up to 20' box truck correctly and became unhitched at highway speed 10 minutes after leaving the pick up facility creating a dangerous situation. The 6'x12' box trailer began fishtailing wildly while being dragged by the safety chains. I was able to slow the truck down, but was shocked that the trailer did not flip and destroy itself on the highway. Once I got the trailer re-hitched I correctly secured it and had no issues for the rest of the rental period. BY THE WAY THE BOX TRAILERS DO NOT HAVE JACKS ATTACHED SO YOU HAVE TO LIFT THE TRAILER TONGUE BY HAND TO HITCH TO THE TRUCK. IF THE TRAILER WERE LOADED YOU WOULD HAVE TO UNLOAD THE ENTIRE TRAILER IN ORDER TO RE-HITCH IT. Of course, if it were loaded it would have likely snapped the safety chains and crashed, destroying everything inside. U-Haul's car carriers and some open trailers have attached jacks. It is crazy that the enclosed trailers do not. FIX THIS, U-HAUL!!!

The truck share app was not that user friendly. And when I forgot my drivers license and wanted to use my wife's, I couldn't get anyone on the phone to ask if that would be accepted. The people at both the pick up and drop off location were great.

Check to be sure everything works. My rental had no A/C.Called for roadside assistance to have it fixed,was told 90 minutes someone would be there. 60 minutes got a phone call from someone saying no one was coming out an suggests driving it to a facility. Mote miles on my tab. 3 hour round trip with my dog and no A/C. In the 90s yesterday

I originally made a reservation for Wednesday June 17th. Then, my plans changed a bit and I needed a uhaul truck for Sunday the 14th to be returned the 15th. I went to the Winsted, CT location around 8:45 am and asked the man if I could rent any type of van and or truck. He said, “no everything is booked, good luck.” I said, “great thanks!” So then I called 1-800 uhaul and asked for the closest uhaul that had any availability, she then said the Winsted location had plenty of trucks available. So essentially, the man lied to me. I then expressed that I felt disrespected and discriminated against because I am Latina, and Winsted is predominantly “white” and “country”. So I then made the reservation for 9:45am, and had to drive all the way back to Winsted. When I expressed this to the customer service representative I was switched to a “manager”. After I explained to the manager what had happened, that he essentially lied to me about not having trucks and that I felt I was discriminated against she only replied, “no you're wrong, absolutely not. Look, you already have a reservation for 9:45am” and I said “yes ma'am I just made that with a customer service representative.” I tried explaining 30 different ways that I made the reservation with someone ELSE and not him AFTER he lied about not having trucks available. I felt she was very rude, condescending, and argumentative. I will NEVER use uhaul again, and I will especially NEVER go back to that location, and I will be sharing my experience with everyone I know. I wish I had caught the woman's name, because she definitely needs retraining in customer service. Lastly, when I went to pick up the keys, he said “oh, I didn't know you already had a reservation, I thought you were trying to make one.” I simply said “ok” because I did not want to argue with him as he was lying to my face, because I made the reservation AFTER he said shot me down the first time. The drop-off process was a bit cumbersome but much smoother than pickup. Both locations were fine, but i think your truck share systems need some work and I would not be inclined to use again.
