I had made a reservation for a 17' truck and when I arrived there were no 17' trucks available. I was stuck choosing between a 15' truck or a 25' truck. Why have a reservation system that has me go to a specific location and to reserve a specific truck size if that truck is not available at that location? Knowing that truck was not available before the pickup day would have made a big difference in my logistical choices. Otherwise, location and pickup/drop-off were not problematic.Matt S.

I arrived to drop off the trailer. I asked to associate to check me in. He told me to drive around back and park the trailer and unhook it. The trailer tongue was way to heavy. I had to search down the associate and ask for help. He seemed irritated at my request. I had to re park the trailer because the associate was unhappy where I was parked. I re parked the trailer. It took two associated to physically lift the trailer off of the ball. I asked for a receipt. The associate said that the receipt would be emailed to me the next day. The email did not arrive the next day. I had to call the UHAUL help number to assist me with getting a receipt. The receipt email appeared in my in box. I am not able to open the attachment because it is not compatible with the yahoo e-mail system. The UHAUL phone help desk was wonderful and did a great job.William B.

THis was Not our pick up location of choice. Thie pick up location was changed to this site due to truck availability. We were told that truck would be ready and we were instructed to use the UHaul app for self pick-up. We prepared for this (downloaded app and researched how to use it). We arrived 10 minutes early to allow time to work through the process. We didn't get past the first step because we got a message that we needed to do an in person pick up. Truck was not prepared for our pick up time (7:30 a.m.). We had to wait for store to open, which was scheduled for 0800 but actually happened about 0810. Then the rental process was fraught with difficulty. The store employee was unable to navigate the process. Fortunately, I had UHaul on the phone. The customer service rep said that because we opened the app and started the process at 0720, we were now timed out. The Uhaul customer service representative was able to override the problem and eventually get us on our way. However, we were 1 hour behind our schedule at this point. This would normally not be a big deal, but I hired moving help and was counting on a specific starting time. Uhaul did give us a $50 credit based on their policy.Joel H.
Reserved trailer and pick site up weeks ahead of time. Two days prior U-Haul called and moved pick up to another location. Computer problems completing pick up of trailer and had to wait at least an hour to resolve. When I opened trailer found walls and floor covered in mud - had a frog inside too. Manager sent someone out to wash right away and they did a good job of cleaning...but who checked this unit in to start with?William W.

The store clerk or manager was busy with other things. I seemed inconsequential to other more pressing concerns. While he managed to close my rental by cell phone, I was not really aware of what was going on. The store was difficult to identify - it seconds as a tobac shop. The worst though, was that he told me to bring the trailer to the back lot - by myself. The paved area was heavily sloped in several directions. When I first un-hitched, after leaving the trailer, it began to roll across the lot. I jumped out of my car to stop it from ramming into the building. I then had to drag it to another more flat location - from which it also rolled. I found the experience very unsettling - the lot was unknown to me, as well as the procedure. He should have met me in the back to at least direct my efforts. Moreover, the trailer let in water (during the trip it rained) and some of my custom furniture was slightly damaged) - but didn't bother mentioning it .... I just wanted to conclude business and get out of there.Rudolf B.

I reserved a truck for 8am pick up. I went back online to add driver and I can't access my account because it was unable to send me the code to both email and cell. I drove to the pick up location thinking someone there could help me but the location wasn't even open even though they were supposed to open at 8am. I sat in the parking lot and I called customer service and I sat on hold for over 15 mins and once a Cust Serv rep answered I explained my issue and I got transfered 4different times only to get hung up on. I missed my pick up because I couldn't access my account and so I wasn't able to get a truck until 7pm later that night. I ordered a dolly and I was told it was in the truck already and I get to my house to get ready to move and there's no dolly in the truck. Uhaul may have the cheapest prices for the most part but y'all have the worst service ever!!! I'd rather pay more for the rental and get good service with less errors and issues than get cheaper rental and get garbage service. I guess u get what u pay for huh!!!Karen S.

The truck ran poorly. While driving it took a long time for the engine to shift out of first gear, it felt like the engine was going to burn out. The agent told me to return the van anytime the next morning and then I was charged double because 10 am wasn't viewed as the right time to return the van.JENCY J.

Was originally scheduled to pick up my truck at this location, until I check my rental on moving day and lo and behold it has been changed to a location in Coon Rapids, 30 min away!! I didn't have time to make that pickup before the reserved time, had to spend over an hour looking for another truck, which this location eventually gave to me. Honestly though I think I just got lucky, could have easily not had anything available. It makes no sense to make a reservation at one location, then have it suddenly change without notice. Really infuriating. Only one person, the store owner, was there. He was extremely busy helping regular customers as well as uhaul customers, many of which ALSO were coming in with problems with their reservations. I don't fault the store owner for the bad experience though, it was all uhaul. He said his computer system was running slowly, and each customer took a while to get squared away. Any attempt to call uhaul customer service met with a â€œ20-30 min waitâ€, and there seemed to be no way to directly contact the local stores to see about availability. I'm honestly considering never using this company again. Terrible customer service. The only bright spot was the truck itself, which was clean and drove very well.Noah S.

I felt extremely unsafe, had many men by the bus stop hollering at me, the store worker was pretty rude and made me feel uncomfortable. My car had bottles laid underneath the tires when I returned an hour later. There was also a lot of broken car window glass scattered in the parking lot in addition to trash and broken beer bottle glass. everywhere.Rebekah V.

Was having troubles with scanning my ID they don't have their own printer/scanner to take record of your ID so your phone has to be able to take a pic of your ID or you won't be able to rent. I had to do it on another phone. Took a long time but sped up once I used another phone.Angela P.
Honestly it's not the people per say it's the location and I just had a hard time with the mobile pick up where it didn't allow me to return it. So when I tried to call and speak with someone, there was a communication barrier and they couldn't explain to me what I would be charged and when I finally got my invoice, they couldn't tell me why my charges were what they were. Had to wait on hold with Customer service for an hour to have them tell me I was charged for another day even though I returned it after hours the same day. But mind you, the mobile drop off wouldn't allow me to do it. Also, the area is just not the best. Customer Service can be better, wasn't the worst, but can't do much about the area 路â€â™€ï¸. Do not support this location! Horrible service, no trucks and waste of time. Cashier held me up for 30 minutes of my time and finally tells me my reservation wasn't available. I told them to cancel my reservation and I asked for my refund. I was told that I wouldn't get charged and everything should be okay. Turns out I got charged. Now I'm wasting more time with customer support. Go elsewhere where it isn't disorganized so you don't waste your time.Blong Y.
When I arrived the Van that I rented was not even at the location I had to wait an extra hour to receive a completely different Van I was not notified of the mileage or the gas I have no paperwork no receipt no email confirmation nothing at all. Highly unsatisfied and filed a complaint and haven't heard from anyone yet.Erica B.

Location was dirty. Assistant helping really didn't know what they were doing. I asked for a printed receipt upon checkout for price confirmation and to see the refueling - he didn't know how to print a copy and told me a receipt would be emailed but he didn't know when the email would arrive. The email NEVER arrived. It wasn't until I returned the truck that the assistance upon returning was able to print AND email my original receipt.Dustin S.

This was the 2nd time I used this location. On both business transactions, with appointment, they will stop completing our transaction if a Tobaccos shop customer walks in, even to look at items, there is another staff person standing there doing nothing, so we had to wait both times, I did an online check in, but the equipment wasn't there, the pricing was different then what I was told online to expect.. It was 20 below zero temp, so I couldnt keep coming back standing in the cold.Davina S.

When I arrived to pick up the truck it had the catalytic converter stolen. I was told the only replacement truck available was 100 miles away. Because my options were limited, i used the truck with the missing catalytic converter which was a rather unpleasant experience. Uhaul needs to ensure that there is proper equipment available and that replacement equipment can't be so far away. Picking up the replacement vehicle was not possible and if it was, it would have taken 4 hours to get it and return to the Minneapolis area. While the location manager was pleasant, he had little capacity to help me resolve these issues as he was too busy selling cigarettes to all the customers constantly streaming into his store.JEFFREY B.

This location is actually a smoke shop which boasts a very sketchy and unsafe clientele to be around. If you are not of the right color and economic status you are not welcome anywhere near this location. Trust me, just filling the van with gas to return it I was made aware by some very angry locals of this. Overall, this location is extremely unsafe and the owners of the shop do not even monitor the u-haul side business as they were scared when I showed up to pickup my rental as they had absolutely no idea I was coming.MICHEAL G.
Have someone who knows what to do? The shop owner did not open his store until 8 30 am. It was suppose to open at 8 am. I was there at 7:50 am waiting. Then it took an hour and 10 minutes for him to figure out how to process the truck we were renting. Even though I had done all of it online previously. Hi there! I am a frequent Uhaul renter for photo shoots and prop moving. I've always had a great experience, expect for this past one. The rental place was at a Rice Street Tabacco (link:https://www.uhaul.com/Locations/Truck-Rentals-near-Saint-Paul-MN-55117/019382/). The store itself was unclean, no masks were worn by store owners/workers, his billing system was dated and needed to use 2 different cards to receive my payment. Beyond that, the truck I rented was in horrible shape. The back padlock didn't even lock! If you just pulled on the lock, It would open with little effort. The breaks of the car are faulty and could not make a sudden stop - making me concerned whenever driving. Please please please, check on this Uhaul location and reconsider. Please discontinue that vehicle so that future accidents don't happen. Please assure this won't happen againBethany S.
Man who worked at this location was pretty rude and not very thorough when I rented the truck. The truck was in fine condition and clean but the lock to the storage was broken and we had to buy our own. Also he hung up on me when he wasn't happy that I wouldn't be returning the truck after being told by a uhaul representative id be able to rent it for additional days.
