For a GMC cargo van with over 18 000 miles it was great. We used it to haul our Scottish items to the Columbus, Indiana Scottish Festival on a Friday. Reloaded and returned to Bloomington on Sunday. Perfect vehicle for the purpose. Easy to drive, easy to load and unload. Right side double door & rear double door. Not new vehicle sparkling clean, few scratches (marked as already recorded with stick-on labels), and some dust. Big deal. Did the job with no problems at all. Will rent again next year.

Vehicle was very easy to drive and would 10/10 recommend price wise over any other place in Bloomington.
nicholas mThis location had absolutely no accompanying items for sale. I could not purchase a lock, rope, or straps. Also, the side mirrors on the truck were not properly tightened and I had to constantly reposition them throughout the rental period.

Alex OI'm disappointed because we were charged for a dolly that was put in the cabin so it wouldn't be stolen. The employees only looked in the unlocked back of the truck and marked that it was missing. There was a dispute made to get our money back but an inconvenience to me the customer because I have to go through the process when the store admitted the dolly was later located in the cabin but too late because they didn't do their due diligence.

GLENN BSouthside Rentals needs to be investigated for not performing safety checks on returned equipment. I rented a 20ft Box truck and a car transporter. The first car trailer we attempted to hook up to the truck had a coupler safety cable almost sawn through by rubbing up against apart of the trailer tongue. The cable was held together by only few steel strands and the vinyl jacket. When I pointed this out the clerk said "That's OK that's why there are two". I refused to take the trailer. When my friend asked if they had replacement safety cables the clerk said no; so that trailer was probably sent out to someone who doesn't know any better. Why does this U-Haul location not have the ability to do basic repairs and maintenace. I ended up taking the second trailer. When I got to my apartment to load the car I found that the ratchet on the drivers side of the trailer had been smashed. I tried calling the store but by then it was 1:10pm; the store closes to early on Saturdays. People usually move on the weekend because that's when they have friends to help them. I ended up purchasing separate ratchet straps to secure my vehicle to the trailer; I could not wait for the store to reopen on Monday to begin my move. It is U-Haul corporate's interest to reduce liability by insuring locations like these are performing inspections and maintenance.

Philip SWe dropped off the unit in the evening before it was due and had to unhitch it ourselves and had to be creative to undo it because the unit was definitely firmly attached!. The unit did not have a jack on the hitch and us old geezers were not strong enough to pull it off so we used our car jack.. Otherwise, everything was great.
Paul BJust takes so long to check in and have someone connect the trailer. More of a location issue, but only one computer terminal to process uhaul rentals, apparently only one employee to do this task as well even though three others are behind the counter and no other customers in the store. Also the store was very warm inside, essentially no air conditioning. Which again, wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have to wait inside for 15 minutes.
BENNETT DThe safety chains were supposed to have a plastic "keeper" according to the employee at the Milford location, but it was never installed at Southside. The chains did fall off once, and I had to adjust them. Also, not related to the Southside location necessarily, but I originally reserved a 5x8 trailer, and U-Haul called to tell me they only had a 4x8. The smaller trailer wouldn't fit our mattress box springs (even though the mattress did fit).
Jeffrey VDrop off was fast, employees were busy but very helpful. Location was very tight because of all the people dropping off.
Jay BThe truck was surprisingly clean and in good condition. The U-Haul order processing site was down at the time I picked up my rental, which is NOT Southside Rentals' fault. The staff at Southside Rentals used the backup system to process my order, but it took them some time to figure out how to use it.
Taylor LThe staff was rude and hateful. They didn't notify us they rented our trailer to someone else until we showed up. Instead of trying to make it right they told us it was our fault for renting a trailer during one of their busiest weeks of the year. How are we supposed to know it's a bust week for them. They told us they didn't care and it's our problem.

Isabel WThere were a few safety issues with the vehicle. The passenger side view mirrors were unstable and didn't stay in position. The rear camera didn't work until I juggled the wires connected to the rear view mirror. I reported both of these things when I returned vehicle in Texas. These are serious safety issues. Thr passenger mirror had to be moved back into proper sight line position at least every 30 miles due to the movement

Don VThe truck had almost 100k on it, there was nothing digital, the only outlets were for cigarette plugs, and the steering was so bad that you could not drive it without 2 hands white knuckling it. To be clear I didn't have any expectations of a luxury vehicle but this was a hunk of junk. Also, we selected mobile pickup but never received the instructions and the key was not in the drop box.

Robert BThe truck was extremely out of alignment (I had to have the steering wheel turned 90 degrees to the right to get it to go straight and it was pulling me all over the roadway. The steering was loose so it was hard to correct it. I had to drive the truck on curvy highways and it was dangerous. I tried to call about the issue but the male I talked to denied that it had that issue.

kevin lOwner of this shop is not honest. Always tries to add insurance without informing you. This time I booked a trailer cost was about 18 dollars, they did not have the equipment and changed me to trailer which was listed for 24.99. I thought since it was not my fault they will not upcharge me. I got a bill for 24,99 plus tax. Crooks, stay away.
