The hours of this location are pathetic. 9-4? Come on. It's ok if you can use the phone setup to pick up early or drop off late, but if you're renting a cargo van, that option is not available. The reason? The location doesn't have a drop box (why?) and they say there's no place to put a lock box in the cargo van. Excuse me, but the cube vans I've rented before had the lock box placed in the unlocked box…roll up the back door and there it is. You get a code to open the lock box. How secure do you want it? Why can't the lock box be put under the seat in the drivers compartment? Anyway, thanks to the Vancouver office, they made it work for me and once an arrangement was made, the on-site staff said they were glad it worked out for me…why couldn't they have made it work without me having to go “over their head”? Overall, I was satisfied. Merci

The person who served us at the office was rude and unhelpful. I had ordered two dollies and when I arrived he said there was only one available - no apologies or questions asked. Then he told me I would have to return the truck at 4:00 when the office closed when I had reserved it online until 6:30. I asked why I could reserve it until 6:30 online then and he finally agreed to allow me to leave the truck after hours but insisted I leave a door open or I would be charged a break-in fee! I only saw that after hours drop off would cost $20 after I got the contract later in the day. When I went to see if the dolly was in the truck, it was not, so I asked him to provide it and he brought it to the door and walked away, when he should have put it in the truck himself. No inspection of the truck was done. As soon as I left I got a number of emails and texts. First I was told I had to inspect the truck myself and document it online. When I tried, the application froze when I added pictures so I stopped. Then I got contradicting receipt and contract information - the contract said I would have to pay a significant amount more than my receipt. In the end, and at this point in time 4 days after the rental, I have been charged correctly, thank goodness.

The customer service of the fellow was far below acceptable in any way to speak to anyone, let alone someone who is paying for your shitty service. I arrived and opened the door and said hello. He snapped at me and said "you are early!" I was 12 minutes early. He was bitter during the whole 2 minute exchange. When I was ready to leave he said you've rented the truck for 6 hours but we will be closed once you come back and there is no key drop box so you will need to be here before 4pm or we will charge you an extra day. Don't offer a service you cannot accommodate. Or better yet, get a drop box. You haven't had once since 2020, which is utter bullshit because you could easily have one on your shanty shipping container you call a business. This is my 3rd experience with this location and it will be my last. I am a business owner and if any of my employees acted as such they would be fired on the spot.

We tried to phone there, but every time we found it would ring once and hang up so we went directly to the location. The owner was extremely rude to deal with and very grumpy. He also overcharged me by $6.40. He sent me an invoice for 5229 and on my credit chart it was 5869. I am disputing this charge with my credit card company, I would not recommend this location at all

Just don't go at 9 a.m. on a Saturday to pick anything up! Took about an hour, even though I filled out all the info out online beforehand (several people were ahead of me in line). If you go during non-peak hours, it goes pretty smoothly. The dude working there was great, despite being ridiculously busy doing everything solo. Seems to be a disconnect between uhaul corporate and their locations…

I have rented here at this location many, many times. They have always been great to deal with. I didn't answer the 2nd question because our community is on max water restrictions, in addition, the site is in a temporary portable building without water, due to the original building being burnt down, & reconstruction is painfully slow !

The location has no Dropbox and we were not informed when we picked up the vehicle. Consequently, when we dropped off and the office was already closed, we wandered around for at least 30 mins in 30 degree heat, even asking local businesses if they knew where the drop box was, checked online with uhaul. In the end we took the key with us and had to make a special trip back to the town to drop it off during business hours. What a waste of our time.

Disappointed with UHaul at Boys Road Duncan. The agent was unfriendly, and the vehicle seemed neglected. The cab's interior looked as if it had never been cleaned and the brakes were spongy. Felt more like a burden than a customer. He was rude and snappy for no good reason. Considering other options next time. Won't be back.

No key box. Returned truck on the evening of the 31st. Left message advising where I hid keys as I had to leave it. Truck was not marked as returned until august 4.

More consistency. I received three bills for one truck rental and all different amounts.i also got the run around for a truck and now being charged for it as they were suppose to.include the milage in my costs. I wanted a one way truck which was supposed to be pick up in Victoria and drop off in Duncan but I had to go to Duncan and pick up the truck and 9 days later they send me another bill. When they said I wouldn't be charged for those miles of having to pick the truck up and bring it back to Victoria

I had contacted the staff at the drop off point to say that I was coming in. It seemed that I was an inconvenience. I had to ask where the location was and what to do if I was arriving after hours, if there was a fence etc.. Nothing was suggested. I was driving a 26' so gas stations that I could maneuver in were limited in the area. I arrived a few minutes after closing, but staff had already left in spite of my wife arriving there 10 minutes prior to closing time to let them know I was on my way there. Like I said, an inconvenience.

I booked a dolly and 4 wheel cart with a truck as I was moving my daughter into an apartment building on the 5th floor and it was shown on my reservation. When I picked up the truck there were no dolly's or 4 wheel carts available. Had to run around to other rental companies to get them and put me an hour behind. Why show them as reserved if they're not? Brutal.

There was only one poor overworked employee. When I arrived and completed my online check in, the blankets I'd ordered were not in the truck and there was a huge line. I got my keys and the move went smoothly. When I returned the truck at 7pm I completed the online return. At the end of the process I was instructed to put the keys in the key compartment in the cargo area and scramble the code. There is no key compartment in the cargo area. I had to call uhaul to find out what to do with the keys. After waiting for 30 minutes I spoke with a representative who looked up the location and told me to put them in the orange key return box. There is no key return box at this location (this location is using portables while a new building is being built). After a long day of moving in 27 degree heat, having to wait for 45 minutes just to be told I have to return the next morning with the key was very frustrating. Would have been nice to know this when picking up the vehicle.

I'm not sure if it's related to this location or not (I don't think so), but I booked online and chose the 24/7 pick up. I arrived at my designated time, only to have the app tell me the location doesn't open for another hour. This was the whole reason I selected the 24/7 pick up option - so I didn't have to wait for the location to open. I called customer service and the person I spoke with confirmed that although the system allowed me to book the 24/7 option, I had to wait for the actual location to open. This was extremely frustrating and I hope that something is done to fix this problem going forward.

Actually have the mobile pick-up (self-serve) available - I was able to book online for pick-up at 7:30am but then received a call the night before that the mobile pick-up service is not set up at that location and pick-up needed to be at 9am when the office opened. Very inconvenient when other things regarding a move were scheduled around the 7:30am pick-up time and then needed to be changed last minute because they didn't actually have the service they made available when booking.

Your traffic centre was the worst. They re scheduled our pick up, down sized the truck we wanted , cost us an extra trip , double the mileage use & double the fuel Plus had us set up for the wrong day. We've rented a lot from you & the Traffic centre has been a problem before but this was very costly. The U-Haul was great thank you very much definitely helped with our move and everything worked perfectly. Pick up was a little awkward gentleman wasn't exactly all that friendly but that's fine. I didn't realize they would be closed when we dropped off and wasn't informed of anywhere to drop the key. The drop off app did have a photo of a place to drop it but searching the entire parking lot high and low we couldn't see it. so unfortunately I still have the key and will have to go back.

The truck smelt really gross, the service was horrible.The guy was younger and knew nothing and only how to charge you, and even that he didn't really know how to do. That's the first time. Then I rented the second time the older guy rented out my reservation then tried blaming me because I made the reservation in the morning!! Now I am out of a truck and a couch, because I was scheduled to pick up a couch that day!!

I was waiting outside in the morning and the person came early to open. I had already reserved my unit. He rang me in again and charged me for extra drop off fees because he opened the store and proceeded with renting me the unit. I returned it exactly 23 hours after I rented it and was charged 20 for after hours drop off? I asked him at the beginning why I had the charge and he said it would sort it self out. Well, it didn't. I'm going to have to call in again tomorrow.

I had a horrible experience but I feel it was more due to uhaul than the actual location. The mobile check ñ process is an absolute joke. I tried to pick up the truck before open so I was told I'd have to do the mobile check in. I couldn't get it to work properly and I had to wait until the location opened to get help. Also when I reserved the truck it asked if I wanted to rent any moving supplies. I selected a dolly and a 4 wheel dolly. Upon talking with the guy working there he informed me “they don't have that stuff”. Why even allow that option to rent a dolly if the location “doesn't have that stuff”. I wish uhaul had more competition as all my experiences are always crummy.

Rented dual axcell trailer . Tire flew off, didn't know that this has happened. Pulled over and parked . Called the uhaul number and they sent a tow truck to pick up . That was good, but however I had to rent another trailer ti complete my task . Two many hours lost

It was easy and convenient to reserve a truck. The people who did arranging and answering questions on the phone were great. I was very disappointed with the in person interaction at the Duncan, BC location. The young man did not greet me, he was rude and evasive and when I asked about payment he merely pointed to a note written on the wall. He did not offer a solution when I did not have a visa/mastercard and I wanted to pay with visa debit. He simply shrugged his shoulders, making no eye contact. He seemed more worried I hadn't shut the office door when I came in, as I was on crutches and couldn't shut door. I do not like that I cannot hold a reservation using my visa debit, or cash. NOT convenient in that way. Not everyone has visa or master card, there should be more options
