Gas in van was not full, gauge was in high position so it looked full but when filling up before return took an extra 20l! Agent forgot rental blankets so had to drive back & retrieve; took 1/2 hour

We had a flat tire on the trailer and because of it had a delay of over 3 hours.Instead of getting home at 7 pm, of only 2 hours of driving in the dark,we got home close to midnight and that's why we had a late next morning start to unload the moving van. That is the only reason why we returned the truck and trailer late.

Inside truck was filthy when we picked up, told my bill would be 290 $ something inc 600kms, that was with a 2 day rental then got a 2nd bill for another $53 for the 2 day rental lol ridiculous

For some inexplicable reason my reservation was cancelled by Uhaul at the corporate level. I do not understand why this would happen and I was not impressed. Once a reservation is made it should be honoured.

I've gone and rented a pickup twice from this location now while renovating my condo. It's always been clean, had a full or nearly full tank of gas, and been a pleasure to drive. The gentleman at the desk has always been great to deal with as well. Thanks for the rental!

stop allowing people far away from the rental site to cancel others rental bookings, change drop off locations from a location rented from, Duncan bc, to the usa, etc, as my rental bookings have been interfered with a few times now.

Don't stress the customer! The lady at the desk was extremely helpful, but I was told different things by a gentleman who kept calling me saying I had less time than I needed. Moving is stressful enough, and if it's the companies mistake, then the customer shouldn't have to pay for it.

The computer servers are unable to keep up with the demand and almost cost me $2500 for late fees on a real estate deal. had I not made the guy keep trying to get it to work. The vehicle had a lot less fuel than it was supposed to and the rental guy told me not to bother with an inspection. Fortunately the office where I returned the vehicle in Coombs phoned uhaul head office and they made it all better. The people at the place I returned the truck and Uhaul themselves were great but the Duncan location like everything else in Duncan sucks.

No dropoff box for key. I had to make a extra trip (1 hr) to drop of key. The response to my comment about the no drop off box and extra trip was uhhh and a shoulder shrug. Not impressed. I will be using Budget next time.

Arrived to to a safe drop after hours only to have a note on the door saying "drop box broken, was not waiting here all night, come back tomorrow with your truck". There was some poor fellow outside that was supposed to be picking up a truck and was totally screwed. He couldn't reach anyone. So I left the key in the locked back and put the faulty shitty lock back on it, just the way it was left for me. 5 days later I get a call from that location telling me I will have to come and unlock the back for them. I called and told them the same code that corporate sent me and the guy was so rude and huffy that I was not coming to unlock the back for him. Then he hung up on me when I tried to explain calmly why it is locked due to their drop box issues. Where do you find these people? I own my own business and if I treated people like this I would go broke. I am half inclined to call corporate and complain, but it won't solve anything If you employ assholes then I guess you are settign the corporate culture as that is acceptable. Needless to say I will not be using uhaul in the future nor will I be telling anyone good things. Have a fucking terrible day!

The service was extremely slow. Uhaul needs to get a faster booking system. It took them 30 minutes to serve 3 customers, due to a slow computer system. I was checked-in before I arrived. It didn't make a difference.

I find that information that I have entered online and then have to repeat to the individual offices is a huge waste of time. We are well beyond a time when this should be happening. Your offices should have pertinent information as soon as the website does. Then maybe people wouldn't have to wait 45 min to pick up rentals. This is after the first location we went to didn't have the truck size we needed because someone didn't return a truck. No trackers?! I missed a ferry and had a very stressful day moving only one item because of how inefficient your system is, not to mention had to drive more kilometers too!

get your 24/7 pick up sorted. We we waited over an hour at the pick up as the truck share app had clearly not worked. Do vehicle checks with the client. Don't park so close to posts and or other trucks.

I could not do my on line registration due to your web site, I called and was on hold for over 30 minutes waiting for a live person. The location manager showed up early at 8:30 and opened 1/2 hour early and did my paper work. She saved my day and your web registration and phone center needs to be reviewed

The first time I used this location the hours on the door were different from online. This time when I returned the truck the key drop box was missing so I had to throw the keys through the gap in the door because I was leaving town that night

Absolute horrible experience. I started receiving calls 6 days after I returned the truck and was continuously hung up on. When i drove to the office location I received verbal abuse like I was some kind of moron for asking why they were calling me. Gentleman I received the abuse from was by the name of James Hancock according to the contract. This is beyond acceptable behavior

I understand with the covid-times we are experiencing that hours may have changed, but perhaps staying open later than 4pm so that people who use a trailer/hitch combo are able to return the hitch, as there is no drop box. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience, and great staff.

Keep a broom or dust pan with unit to keep it clean. Also have signage where ownership papers are when stopped. Some jurisdictions only accept original paperwork. Hard to find these in rented unit. Clearly marked in vehicle would help.

My experience there prior to this last rental had been good, I rented 3 times. However, this time I was informed that I had to pay for fuel, which had never been told to me before this 4th rental. She said the fuel was at 5/8ths, which was not accurate. I therefore had to put in 12 dollars of fuel for 12 km of use, which to me and how much a truck burns for fuel anointed to much more then I think the truck used. So on addition to the new fact that I had to pay for fuel, the amount I had to replenish it to was inaccurate and that overall attitude of the women there was not pleasant when I was confused how this could be so. I will never rent from U-haul again, and I will inform people of the type of business that is being conducted there.

I am still waiting for a call about my bill. Te has requested a furniture dolly, yet when we picked up the truck after hours, there was no dolly in the truck. It was very inconvenient as we had to carry everything by hand into the elevator and down four floors.

Even though I checked in online the day before to supposedly make picking up the van quicker, and arrived at the scheduled pick time, I still had to wait approx 15 minutes while only attendant dealt with another customer. I had to sweep out van before using. Didn't put on alot of km's so even paying .59 cents a km, was still less than half the cost of other rental companies.

If you are wondering if the “after hours pick up” is a good idea or not, read on: We needed a moving truck for first thing Monday morning. This is the only location nearby and only open 9am-4pm M-Sat... so a Sunday self checkout was our only option. Uneasy about trying self checkout for the first time, 3pm was chosen as pickup time as assurance that if things went terribly wrong, surely somebody would get called in to fix things (wrong!). In a lot full of clean shiny trucks, a mud splashed, cigarette smelling, beat up truck with grimy seats, ashes in ash tray, unwrapped food scraps in the cup holders was what was left for me. The checkout app, while a bit cumbersome and inflexible (you can only attach 1 photo of damage), is functional and did the job... too well. The process was over before I felt comfortable driving vehicle off lot. To satisfy self, I decided to check the engine oil. Only the very tip of dipstick showed any level, well below the ‘add oil' mark. I then also noticed a blistered sidewall on a rear tire. At this point I started to call the STE/Uhaul numbers off this business' door: the Duncan number rang and rang before it disconnected. The affiliated STE franchise was answered eventually by an unhelpful employee who stated “I'm in Sooke. Whadda you want me to do about it?... cancel booking and go somewhere else”. The 1-800-GO-UHAUL after a half hour on line got me in touch with a real person who tried to transfer me to someone who could help... of course I get disconnected. Back on hold for an hour... real person says I'm booking you a repairman... nobody shows up... call again... and again... long story short: the on-call repairman never did answer Uhaul HQ's dispatch. They did eventually offer me another rental from a town an hour north of where I was ($0.65/km rental) despite the fact there were 20 trucks at this location. This game of phone tag lasted nearly 4hrs and I never did get a truck. I eventually had to do the self return using the app. Because I ticked the box that indicated that the vehicle was ‘not clean for the next family', I was additionally charged $30 for cleaning. STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT RENTING FROM HERE USING THE SELF CHECK OUT METHOD.

The only thing that worried me slightly was not all the dings on the truck were marked! I did take pictures beforehand but it seemed to make the initial process longer for us. Other then that, great experience! Was really happy we got to extend our rental too. Made our life a lot easier! Thanks!

I went in a day early to clear things up , cause I never rented before , my dad asked a few questions to the lady running the place and she blew up at him and threatened to kick him out, it was not until I showed that we already booked a truck that she calmed down, it was one of the weirdest encounters with a person running a store in my life, I would have told her how rude she was but I still wanted to rent the truck still, she was never rude to me but my Father will never step foot in their again, but overall experience was good and I will rent again

A truck or van was too big for my needs however trying to find an enclosed trailer was very difficult. Apparently there are just a few of these trailers available. Staff was polite and helpful in finding a trailer for me. I have used Uhaul in the past and have been very happy with the service.
