First truck assigned to me had a broken passenger side door. The situation was fixed promptly and a replacement truck was provided. The replacement equipment was clean and well maintained.

We made our reservation online a week before the move. We were supposed to get a call the day before to get the directions for obtaining the truck since it was before opening hours and a holiday. We never received the call or text, the app was useless. The app had the wrong location for pick up, my husband went and they sent him to a location that had no one working on site since it was a holiday. I had to go through at least 45 mins of phone calls being switched to different departments until I finally reached a competent worker that found us an open UHAL location with trucks available. When we finally got the truck, IT HAD NO GAS! We lost about 3 hours of moving time! Also it didn't include our dolly we requested.

Very poor customer service. The desk ladies never acknowled me, there were no other people in the store. I stood and waited until I was recognized by one counter rep. She was curt and seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else but there. After the paperwork was done, she told me to go ahead and pick up the trailer never telling me where that was. After I asked, she pointed to a section of the yard where the trailers were I pulled my car to that area. And waited, 5 min, 10 min maybe longer. I started hooking the trailer to my car, finally a guy came over to hook it up. I told him I have been waiting , his reply was " I'm busy too" I told him I'm pretty fricken busy too. Hurry up and hook this up so I can get out of this place. I got the total San Francisco attitude. Thanks for that

Gave me the GMC, but realize too high for height. Ask the staff to exchange a smaller cargo van, like a ford. But don't want to help me exchange, telling me it's the smallest among cargo van. When doing the delivery to my client. The cargo van can't get in where GMC is high on its height. A very disappointed rental agreement. I already explained it to the staff.

When I got there, I took pictures of the gas and the mileage because the gas was incorrect. There was only slightly around quarter tank when I returned it. I returned it with slightly over a half a tank but yet I was charged $118,75 for fuel. None of this makes sense to me. We had to U-Haul for three days drove 51 miles and three days and we got charged a total of. $420路‍♂️ never again well I use U-Haul and I would not recommend using them.

Never seen any rodents, never had any problems and I was there for 2 years straight, came and went frequently especially after hours, any other customer of theirs that I came across was even nice, the bathrooms were always clean. Definitely recommend & I usually don't even write reviews.

I was extremely pleased with my service at U-Haul Candlestick SF, Adalia Abordo the manager went above and beyond to get the right package I needed to make my moving experience stress free. Moving isn't ever easy, but Adalia helped to make it as smooth as possible. I can't recommend her enough she is a compassionate, kind person that understands how to make the moving process just a little easer. Thank you Adalia. The only negative thing was my muffler needed repair on the truck, very noisy

I recommend to improve your customer service Bayshore location, the worker on the rental area is not helpful as they don't seem to care. We rent the trailer and the dolly. The trailer set up did not meet the height with hitch,the person who installed the trailer did not listen to us about the issue, we have to go back to U-Haul to figure it, however the worker was not helpful and we waste a couple hour trying to make the trailer to the same height with the hitch and end up got additional charge for the hitch that we did not rent. We gave up asking for their help fixing it and drove the uhual at Fremont, the guy was great there and as soon as we drove up, the crew member comes to us and help us fixed the issue. Tomorrow I have to go back to this location to fix the additional charges that I did not get. Very bad. I would recommend people to avoid this location and go to other uhual location. Also this location feels very unsafe with many people standby the gate, as soon as you drive up there, they will walk up to you and try to get some work or something from you.

I returned the Uhaul six hours after renting it and with more gas than it had when I picked it up; however, the representatives charged me for two days. This is a dishonest location, not the first time this has happened. The clerk also refused to provide me with an updated/corrected receipt for my records.

You know I live down the street from the facility that I have my storage at and I noticed that when the trucks are parked out front from the overnight people are taking the gas the catalytic converters I hate to see that happening especially in my neighborhood and especially to such a good company if you're interested in that cheap solution please feel free to give me a call thank you

My second rental for the same truck, they were asked to give me the same and didn't. The manager/owner on site was very rude. one of them hung up on me, I asked to speak to a higher level of manager and finally spoke with Mr. Omar Silva who rendered an acceptable solution. I will not do business with that location and will not recommend anyone else do until the management is trained on how to communicate with your customers Cage Weary

I got a call less than 24 hours to my reservation stating that a truck was no longer available. After about a half and hour of being put on hold, transferred about 5 times, and a headache I was told the location of my truck pickup was switched. I would not recommend Uhaul for a move.

I made a reservation for a 20' vehicle and notified 5 minutes before arriving to this location that the only vehicles available for 10'. I had to take the 10' vehicle because I had already made plans to move boxes of product for my business, but would now have to make several back-and-forth trips, drive more miles, and waste more gas… making it a much higher expense. The desk agent didn't help the matter, as she didn't seem to care and would delay my check in because another agent kept interrupting. Making matters even worse: she ends up assigning me a vehicle that was blocked by another one. Fortunately, one of the cleaners offered to go back to the office and move it out of the way. Never going to this location again.

Terrible. It took 1 hr to get a truck. The first truck had no battery in it. The 2nd truck was already given to another customer and the third truck they had misinformed. And when returned they didn't let me pay with cash and I have additional charges showing on my car instead of the credit I'm supposed to get back. This place is a joke.

I went here because the U-Haul at Parkmerced Shopping Center screwed me over. I scheduled my reservation on Thursday at 4:30pm, and it was green, meaning I can reserve the 15' truck. But upon arriving on time, the store actually closed at 3:30pm! Worst of they, they never reached out to me, explaining that not only were they closed before my reservation, they also don't have the truck available after-hours. So an agent had to book Bayshore as a last minute effort. The worst part is that this was for a JOB. Yes, I mean paid work and this incident caused me to run late and affected my job badly. Had this store communicated better, none of this mishap would've happened. Worst of all, when I went there, again, to try booking another reservation, they tried to claim I'm a problematic customer, according to their system. And when I called customer support, they had no issue booking the reservation for me. I demand to have my upcoming reservation to be fully covered! And I demand that store to get reprimanded! Either that store gets new management or the job I work for will notify their thousands of workers about that store, affecting their business with bad reviews.

Absolutely absurd, your entire company should be ashamed of itself. EVERY TIME I rent from this location I get charged for gas. I was given an empty gas tank, filled it half a tank and returned it only to be charged $70+ for the gas. The previous time, similar situation where they charged me $27 and I only traveled a few miles. The time before that was another tank of gas charged. I am tired of arguing about this with the manager. At this rate, I am owed more than just a reimbursement but a credit for the trouble.

Everything would have been "Yes" and "Excellent" until I moved out. On that day I discovered packing materials on the floor and at least a couple of boxes missing. I didn't have an inventory and I don't believe the contents were valuable, but it was disturbing to see this. It never happened in over 20 years storing there.

I found mouse droppings all over every piece my furniture stored in the SF Bayshore facility floor 2 large unit. The amount of droppings found was beyond the amount of "small" infestation. Every piece of my furniture stored was professionally shrink wrapped with packing blankets, the exterior shrink wrap was covered in mouse feces. I even found droppings inside the couches. Lots of designer furniture ruined. Herman Miller Eams, Steel case, Knoll etc. also my furniture has a stink/funk to it now. The fabric furniture now smalls Like a old barn/ 'old persons house' that smoked. The unit next to mine was rank. If you have any furniture of value store it anywhere else! Super bummed considering I paid over $10k to store my furniture for the last four years.

The people are callous/mean. They threaten us when we ask a question. I moved out yet they continue to charge me. I don't understand how U-Haul works so I makes sense to ask. The employees bark the answer. Maybe AI would be better? Also- This "U-Box" has been in front of my home since last month. Is anyone going to ever pick it up? I'm not responsible for that box. Everyone there is so nice and very professional. They're always there to help with a smile. The facility is really clean and organized, and the lighting too, enables even the corners of each floor to be very well lit. I highly recommend this U-Haul facility to anyone! They have rentals as well as storage, so anything you could possibly need is in one convenient place! Excellent!

I closed my unit May 22 and was still charged in June then sent a threatening email with late fees in June. There is clearly a disconnect between your storage facility and your billing department. I made 4 calls to your call center to try to rectify this, there appears to also be a disconnect between your call center and your storage facility. This was incredibly frustrating. 

GOOD: Easy check in. Friendly staff. Clean. Lots of moving carts. BAD: The hallways to the units are narrow making it extremely difficult to load larger furniture items into the 8' x 8' unit. Also, at 7pm they closed the large garage door in front of our loading truck, locking my husband and the movers inside (who did not know where the other exit was) while I had to move the truck around to a different entrance. It was a very stressful experience.

This was such a hard time in my life. I'm dealing with my mother being terminally I'll, having to move because I lost my previous job. Starting a new job, and on top of that I had my U-Haul truck stolen in front of my house. Luckily it was found and the police towed it. This particular store has worked with me so well through it all even the one on Bryant .They don't understand how much less stressful it is the way they've handled my situation. I'll be forever grateful. I hope God blesses everyone in the store that's helped.

This is the best rental trailer/truck and storage facility. The staff is wonderful they are proactive in seeing your needs and assist you with as much as they possibly could. Anytime I need to store my belongings U-Haul on Bayshore is the only one for me and I highly recommend them to all my friends and family. Thank you for your great service U-Haul.

I was disappointed as I had stored with uhaul due to a email saying I'd have a free month for the storage unit. I even asked about it when I called to reserve and was told it would be taken care of at the location. When I pull up I saw there was also an advertisement for a free month outside. When I asked about this free month I was told I did not qualify. I had already moved all my things in so I felt I couldn't change my mind anymore. I felt I was promised an offer and didn't receive it. I ended up renting for two months as the storage access hours did not line up well with my work schedule. If I'm ever in need of storage I wouldn't store with uhaul again.

It would be extremely beneficial to have 24 hour access - especially considering the high pricing (and frequent increases), as well as due to the fact of being located in a major urban area with such a variety of working and sleeping hours. I actually did not even enter my unit for several years due to the hours not fitting with my schedule and/or those of someone with a vehicle (I do not have a vehicle, due to living in an urban area). Mechanical lifting equipment or lifts would be extremely helpful for those with units that are up flights of stairs or with upper level units. Especially for the units with permanent stairs, wheelchair platforms could be installed which do not require operation by a licensed equipment operator. And platforms which do require an operator could be requested or reserved by appointment so that a certified employee could be present to operate it. It would be nice to see more availability of larger units. It is not in everyone's budgets to maintain more than one unit, but the lack of larger units forces people to make downsizing decisions, where a larger unit would keep them in your property. The card access systems could use updating - it takes a while to get the hang of the correct speed and firmness of card swiping, leading to unnecessary trips to the office (if it is open), just to be told you are not swiping slowly enough. Perhaps tap cards would be better? Especially for those looking to reduce wallet bulk, a small keychain fob would be great. Otherwise, everything was generally great. Employees were always friendly and helpful - often even ready to go out of their way to assist with any concern or issue. The environment was always clean, with not a single rodent or pest to be found. The temperature/humidity always seemed in great control. Overall, I was mostly satisfied. I would be likely to maintain this location as my lifelong storage location if the above-mentioned issues were corrected - especially the ones regarding access hours, mechanical equipment/lifts, and more plentiful availability of larger units. Junk was left on top of the units on the 5th floor. I asked employees there several times to get rid of the old mattress and blankets that were left directly on top of my unit for fears of bed bugs. Nothing was done.

I have had a U-Haul storage room for several decades. Yesterday I got a call to say that my goods were about to be suctioned. Then problem was that they didn't have my new credit card number. But the problem was also that they were sending notices to 752 Lakeview instead of my address, which is, and was the whole time, 572 Lakeview. The worker who called me in the nick of time had my driver's license number, but had to ask me for my email address, though it has not changed for several decades. Also, U-Haul records showed my backup contact person at an address on Holloway. I have never even known anyone who lived on Holloway! I paid the bill via credit card, corrected the information U-Haul had wrong, and re-instituted auto-pay with my credit card, but I am upset and mystified as to where the wrong contact information could have come from and very upset that I nearly lost my stored goods.

the staffs are helpful and nice. I will give them 5 stars. however, the storage unit was at upper level, and there was no lower level available, which didn't work for me, since I had many large and heavy items, it wasn't safe for moving them into upper level storage unit. also, there was only one elevator available, which wasn't so convenient. also, while I reserve the upper level unit on App, I didn't know what I got after I saw it. it wasn't clear on App for first time user. I never saw this type of storage unit before in other uhaul storage, so it wasn't expected.

The reason why I rated a 2 is because there was a person who was giving me a hard time. And she didnt only do it to me she fid it my family too. So that's why me and my family decided to move out because of her. Her name is Debora. Known as Debbie. When she saw me or my sister, she will talk really bad to her colleagues about us in front of us. And that is just disrespectful and she also will be rude. Another thing I also rated it 2, Was because the people who you have in front Will take about 10 minutes to get the next customer. When they don't have no customer serving. Ad if Debbie is there and she sees me they will take up to 20mins to attend to my needs. It's sad to see a supervisor who is just gossiping about others just because she doesn't like certain people. And my last reason for rating it a 2 is because Debbie and another staff member allowed someone else to go into my storage and my sons passport got stolen. (That is known as a federal law document) and she lied to the cooperation that she will never do something like that. When I went a few days my storage wasn't how I left it. So I don't understand why is this individual still working there. I want to thank those above Debbie position for their help. And I wish the best for Debbie and those under her. I never used the storage because the person who set up my account couldn't generate a code to allow me access to enter. That storage unit stayed empty for almost 6 months, I sent them an email to cancel the storage and I never got a reply back. Worst service ever!

The policy of not renting trucks to people who are clearing out their unit is unnecessary, stupid and punitive. How am I supposed to move the contents of the unit if I can't rent a truck. BAD POLICY. I had to go to the UHAUL in San Francisco to rent a truck. Your services for rental are overpriced and your billing staff created the need for me to move out because they couldn't just give me a call when I went dilinquent? Incompetent. Rip-off. Never again.

I've been storing at this facility for 15 years and the experience was beyond exceptional. Staffing is wonderful and helpful and keeps you informed about your locker. Would definitely rent storage space again.

We used billpay and the UHaul office had a hard time opening up their mail to process payments in a timely manner and sent our contact a past due notification which was not our fault and very embarrassing. This scenario played out almost every month where we had to do follow up calls etc. Very poor customer service.

Got out of the truck and said I'm here for storage and got a weird attitude from a Latin guy, didn't catch his name.Went in and got the worst customer service in my entire life from J Hernandez! She was very very rude and played games with me! She didn't explain anything correctly and repeatedly went out of her way to try to make me feel stupid! Worst attitude of any customer service that I have ever had! I was being F ed with! Incredible! She deserves a serious reprimand/ job threats!!!

I was told over the phone that the location had a 6 x 11 available, so I chose this over another company's site. There was no 6 x 11! I got to the location and instead wasted over an hour looking at rooms with pillars and poles in them that were NOT the size advertised! By the end, it was too late to schedule with the other site and I now have to rent my uhaul an additional day. Will not be using this service anymore. Go Turo!

I reserved a space that was accessible by the elevator and the space I got was not. The staff were trying to wrap up, understandingly so I couldn't ask for another spot. The elevator accessibility was portant as I have mobility issues.

The access hours are better than most places in the city that I can find. I do wish that they had 24 hour access, which apparently is not a thing here. The staff was ★★★★★. (To be clear thats 5 out of 5 possible stars) very helpful, I was having a problem setting it up by myself online wish they fixed me no problem and it was done pretty quick and she brought me upstairs to show me where the unit was and explained how to use the elevators and everything and yeah very pleasant and clear communication.

Nellie was great. I needed to get in when I rented the unit and could not the units have a locks on them from the facility so after hour move in would be impossible (do not allow after hour rental; you will have really upset customers) and I could not get in the gate to start.

I arrived to pick up my rental trailer on Wednesday, Sept 28th. My trailer had been given away. The employee stated that their customer service overbooked them. I was then directed to 2 different sites to pick up another trailer. I was given incorrect information again and finally found one after driving around Phoenix. I then drove to San Francisco to find out that the storage unit that i had reserved was given out as well. I was left to take a unit I did not wasn't and had to store my couch at a different facility due to the fact that it would not fit. Very unsatisfied and left with a headache. It was my time, discomfort and money that was affected.

Our unit was robbed during the hours where you were OPEN WITH NO SECURITY. The manager literally did nothing and seemed annoyed that we were upset that we didn't want to ignor it. We had to take three days off of work waiting for cops because the manager refused to call us when they got there even though we live 10 mins away. The man who robbed our unit used a very loud angle grinder in the facility and no one noticed. Not secure. He also robbed other units and when I asked the manager if she was going to contact the unit she said no it wasn't her problem which makes this tenants very unlikely to recover their stolen items the longer it hasn't been reported. I would never recommend this place in fact I've been actively telling people to not rent in this unit because it's unsafe and management is useless

When I came to the storage, they assigned me a triangle one at the corner, which is half the area of the normal one. And after they figured out the other one that can assign to me, it is already 6:30, and they close at 7. They said I can only move in tomorrow which was really annoying since I need to move my stuff in on that day. It was a really awful experience.

When I first applied for the storage locker I was not pleased that I had to climb stairs to move my items in. It made the process very difficult and tiresome to carry boxes up stairs. I also believe that my storage fee was increased several times. My last comment is the large amount of Day Workers congregated at the front of the facility. They stand in sqaular all day and wave at customers as they drive in and out. There are also plenty of unhoused people roaming at the gate. The overall feeling of the environment was dismal and downtrodden. The inside of the storage facility was clean, however the outside environment made me anxious when I was on the property. I made it a point to never go to my locker after hours because I was intimidated by the circumstances of the vagrants at the gate.

Everything was great except for when I had the larger unit (8x12?) the guy next to me was there a lot (every day?) and had all his stuff out in the walkway making it hard to get by. He almost seemed to be like a crazy/homeless guy. Other than that it is a great facility!
