Not a friendly place!! If you ask questions they are annound and just point rather than help you. No Communication what so ever.... The large truck I rented had no gas, I pulled up to the front office and spoke to one of the men at the door and he told me put gas in it!! I called office and explained to the Lady that helped me and she also told me to put gas in it I told her. When I return the truck is she going to reimburse me the money that's left over in the truck!!

I was charged 24 hours for an 11 hour trailer rental. The folks at the location said nothing could be done to get it back to an hourly charge and I must be charged the full day because that's what the "autmoated system" does and "we have no control." I gelt taken advantage of and lied to and they used technology to blame deceptive trade practices. I find this to be pretty average for corporations and pretty shitty.

I had rented trailers in the past from this location at the San Pedro Ave. The other times, the experience was fine. However, this time, the dolly that I rented was very dirty and full of mud and the wheel's fenders were damaged. I tried to get another one, bud I was not allowed to get another dolly since the guys who connected the trailer toy truck said that this one was the one that was assigned to me. I called the UHaul customer service number and submitted a complaint. The next day, l got a call from one of the UHaul representatives at the San Pedro store apologizing about my experience. She mentioned that the reason that they were not able to provide me with another dolly (when they had two other ones that were clean and looked very new) was because the lights of those TWO tow dolliys were not working. I explained to her that it was very disappointing that they were not even able to even offer a quick powerwash to the dolly before me taking it. Very disappointed. Although she apologized, it is still very disappointing.

They were fast to charge but when a refund is due they gave me the runaround,, spoke to an English speaking person after a 45 minutes waiting time ,,they switched me to someone who speak Spanish not knowing I speak Spanish,they said it was my bank,,they got my information about my bank card on Monday and 4 days later no refund san Antonio

We followed signs to where (we thought) we were supposed to drive into to return the rental. There were cones in the driveway, but it was unclear as to why they were there. There were signs at the street and above the garage that indicated this is where we were supposed to drop off the rental. It wasn't until an employee came out mad and admonished us for pulling in through this location. He rudely said in a hateful tone that this wasn't the right place to pull into to drop of the rental. This was conflicting with the signs indicating otherwise. If they don't want people pulling into this location, then they need to either remove or cover up the signs. Also, not sure what happened, but the mad employee did not show that we returned the rental that same day we dropped it off (I wonder if this was intentional, as if he wanted to teach us a lesson). We weren't aware of this until another employee called us several days later asking if we were going to return the rental. We explained we dropped it off the same day we rented it in Corpus Christi. The employee on the phone said she'd talk to the employee and look around for the rental. It wasn't until later in the day that we finally got our receipt which we took to mean they found the rental. It stressed us out thinking we were going to be on the hook for the lost rental until we finally received that receipt. If I rent from UHaul again, I will find another location to drop off.

No improvements are needed. We were seen promptly and finished the transaction quickly. As it turned out, I had thought I had ordered a hitch online, but it didn't happen. They had lots of hitches in stock, and we purchased one. The clerk, whose name I don't remember, was friendly and helpful. He installed the hitch, the trailer, and the wires for the lights and made sure they worked before we left. When we returned the trailer, the turn in process was fast and easy. Overall, we were quite pleased with the experience.

Process the rental return the same day the vehicle is received. Do not charge for fuel when the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level it left with. I brought the vehicle back with MORE fuel than it had when I rented it for a couple of hours and I was charged 17 for 4 gallons of fuel. UNACCEPTABLE! I have photos to back my claim.

This is the third time I have rented a U-Haul and I used the app to check in. I spent time uploading my license picture and filling out a lot of information. Then I went inside and had to do it all over again. I don't know why you guys even offer to let people check in on the app when they just have to go inside and do it all over again. What a waste of time.

Other than being told to drive the haul to the bay. Everything was great. I ordered any other customers should not be told to drive a haul to the bay. That is the responsibility of the maintenance person to do that due them being certified as mechanics.

In this location nothing everything was great, but in other locations please tell the works that when someone calls to get information about a U Haul tell them they need to reserve it first. My frustration with all of this is that before I picked up my U-Haul in Elyria Ohio I informed the sales person that my destination had changed from Colorado city Texas to San Antonio Texas. Tell me why U-haul is charging me over $700 as a wrong drop off mileage difference. It was only 100 miles difference. On top of that, why didn't the Elyria Ohio location update my new drop off location before I left? The only thing they updated was my current address. They updated my destination address to San Antonio but not my drop off location to San Antonio. That makes no sense and furthermore, I had to call around for the drop off location because Elyria gave me a number to call when I got to San Antonio because they were saying that there were no drop off locations close to my destination popping up for Spencer in the computer and I would have to call the 1-800 number he gave me in order to get a drop off location in San Antonio Texas .

This is a large convenient location. I've rented from here several times. It was a Monday morning and not very busy, either when I picked up or dropped off. The 15 ft. truck I got this particular time was clean, but not in the best condition. Still, it was fine for a short, local move. A couple of staff were on their personal phones when I was picking up, which I found off putting. Further evidence of the erosion of social norms and professional behavior. Then again, it is just a U-Haul rental place …

It's best to start the rental process online for a faster check in. It's seamless and so much easier than going into the location and renting the vehicle from the store. The return process is so fast and easy that it feels like "one and done". The website is easy to navigate, and all of the pricing is up front. I highly recommend.

We went to just a pull dolly but they would not give one because of weight requirements. So we had to rent a truck from U-Haul and the pull dolly. The person that checked us out said that someone will bring the pull dolly out once we reverse the truck near the entrance of the yard where the pull dolly's were located. We waited 30 minutes for someone to help. Finally when we did get help the person didn't want to get the dolly that was on the paperwork because it was too far in the back so they made us go back inside to do another contract to get a dolly closer the the entrance. What should have been a 30 min in and out scenario turned into a 1,5 hours. I would not recommend this place and I would be telling all my family how horrible my experience was and how lazy then people here were.

One of the Spring clips on safety chains was broken. Yard guys both said they are not given parts or training to fix. Definitely will not come back to this U-Haul.

The entry Gateway to exit the unit is always blocked BY The car dolly's making it impossible to even drive up or get close enough to punch in code that opens gate so very inconvenient TO have to get out of car ! sometimes they completely block the gate entry way, I assume Customers Needs come second TO Business needs !! Also Sold me an OVERPRICED box TRUCK that as soon as I loaded my personal belongings from my storage unit that I had been renting for years , THE Truck was stolen from The lot DURING business hours and Manager was notified she said she had to call owner first &NOT TO Call POLICE?? I had 2 large $250 a month units and had loaded 1st units contents worth over $25,000. Of my belongings with the intention of loading the second unit which is why the truck was still parked at the store , but the manner in which it was handled Was so Rude unprofessional and mean !

This was our first time renting a storage unit. The unit was very clean.. some confusion over the unit in the very beginning because our first unit assigned was taken when we arrived, but the staff quickly resolved things. Getting in and out of unit was a breeze with our access card. Check out on the app was simple.

Honestly, it was such a hassle dealing with U-Haul and I deserve some sort of compensation. We reserved a truck over a month in advance for our travel. The day of pickup, they inform us that there are no trucks available. I drive 30 minutes out of my way and town to pick up a truck they didn't even know was available until I showed up and reserved it. Then I had to deal with incompetent staff members at the facility to get a storage unit. I didn't end up even getting one coz the one I reserved was not available and they needed to get managerial approval to give me 2 storage units next to each other since the one they put me in was too small. This is very hard for me to do because I just dropped off a vehicle. The only interaction I had was being told where to park ensuring there was nothing else for me to sign/do. I never went inside. I didn't do anything with the gate. I never saw hours of operation. I hope people look at these surveys. My recommendation would be to add a column of not relevant, or do a survey based on purpose of being at the facility.

I highly recommend this storage facility! They are secure and very conscientious! I accidentally left my unit unlocked one day and I had a phone call that afternoon alerting me so I could go back and lock it. I felt my storage items were safe and secure. Merci.

I cannot express how helpful and nice everyone was for my situation. As a separating military member I was given so many options even when it was very likely inconvenient to the staff. They were always nice, helpful, and understanding when it came to working with me and the government contractors. The associates that run the front counter are awful. Both times I was in the front office the supervisor was in an argument with a customer. When getting the U-Haul from Austin they did not bother explaining or helping with anything they just handed me the keys and sent me on my way the employees looked and acted like they did not want to b there. When I dropped off the truck in San Antonio the employees were more in a hurry to close and get out of there rather than taking care of the customer.

The only issue I had was that I came home from Iraq and tried accessing my unit. The key would not fit into the lock. I tired asking several of your employees what was going on and nobody knew anything. I was told I needed a supervisor to cut the lock. A few days later the supervisor was available. Just so happened to be the same day I hired a locksmith. Supervisor cuts the lock. Turns out my wife entered the unit while I was gone, she locked it in the open position. Someone at U-Haul out a new lock on and didn't tell anyone about it or made a note in the system. So here I am, wasted 4 days trying to get into my unit and $50 out of pocket (locksmith fee). Other than that, you need more staff. There shouldn't be a 30-45 min wait to get a vehicle because you have 1 person working the counter.

Got some quite rude phone calls about replacing locks. In addition, on the last day, got a similarly brusque call to immediately go fix the lock, because the door was only partially locked. Arrived to find no lock on latch (had just put new lock there one week before) and no lock on floor of unit that had been left there on purpose.

There were a lot of issues regarding the storage for move. The upside is that the manager went far above and beyond to reach a reasonable solution. he called and called again any and every resource but ultimately he made something happen for us. During this time, he had put his lunch off, and was bouncing between assisting many other big issues with customers. It was only him and another worker. His name was Matt Kalinec, he deserves a rise and praise. Will be sending him lunch for the lunch he put off to deal with our issue.

I've been using their storage for 2+mths now. And every time I come in, everyone is always so helpful and welcoming and in a content/relaxed/nice mood. If they can't help, they'll quickly direct you to who can. They actually messed up my storage unit reservation when I was down-sizing, and they completely took responsibility. They notified me quickly, fixed it, and made me feel like they really cared about me as a person. I greatly appreciate all the gentlemen I've came across there!

I had to return a trailer half way through my trip and upgrade to a moving truck and a car transport because my little Ford ranger was struggling to pull the trailer. Technically, because this wasn't where I was supposed to return it, it was a "wrong location" and I couldn't return it. But couldn't figure out where I could return it. I called 1800gouhaul and got transfered 6+ times. Each employee claimed that they didn't have access to the info I needed. They couldn't make changes and didn't know why the previous person sent me to them. I think each employee should be granted access to everyone's order, be able to see all their info, and make changes. Everything is online these days. I should be able to contact an employee in a random state and they should be able to tell me where I can drop stuff off and make changes to my order. Each time I called to figure out drop off locations there was a 10+ minute wait. Calling 1800gouhaul again, I wanted to change my drop-off location because it wasn't the same as the storage location. The telephone line said that I could change it online. I would have preferred to do it over the phone. But after another 10-15+ min wait, I gave up. When I went online, neither my wife or I could figure out how to do it online. We asked the guys at the storage location if we could just drop it off there? They replied, oh, no. If you do that, we'll have to charge you double. Fruatrated, we just took it to the other location and dropped it off. Storage locations are free for the first month. Unless you don't have a round padlock. Then you charge me 10$?! I already had my own regular padlock with me, ready to go but you said, oh no, they can't be that type of lock. It has to be a round one. When I went to lock it up, my lock fit just as well as yours did. That was a totally unnecessary move on your part. The self storage container had two tears in the roof covered in white duck tape. What if it rains hard? Duck tape won't keep the water out.

I came in from out of town and arrived at the Uhaul at 6:45pm, 15 mins before closing. I had called ahead of time and already had a reservation for a storage unit. The employee I believe his name is Matt at 5810 San Pedro, San Antonio, Texas 78212 was fast, helpful, and very thorough. He gave me my paperwork, access gate card and explained everything to me in 15 minutes. I asked him if business was busy,and he said yes, but he was calm and friendly. I was told I was enrolled in automatic payments and that I would be billed on a certain day, when I was not. Two days afterward I received a late charge and was informed I was delinquent. Wait times at the store were also frustrating. Each of the three times I went in and spoke to staff, I had to wait 15+ minutes due to there only being one person.

u haul is your best bet for moving and storage, very secure and they do great job of maintaining every thing. i will always use them for my storage and moving needs. they also have quality boxes and stuff to get the job you need done right. they get thumbs up from me!

Classic scenario where the right hand didn't know the left hand had already done. Got there and Gloria asked for my information, tried to charge me another fee for the storage that I had already paid for over the phone. The gentleman I spoke to must have been new as he answered the phone telling me to hold on he was dealing with another, possibly irate, customer. I appreciate the 30days free. Maybe you all should give me another 30days for the inconvenience of having to provide info that was, or should have already been, in their database about my reservation.

FYI - your trucks are ALWAYS DIRTY! My truck had milkshake in the cup holder. Looked like someone sneezed on the steering wheel. Windshield filthy. Just do some basic clean up!
