I would suggest ensuring that everything that was in the vehicle is put back in. I have to return tomorrow for my cargo cover. Perhaps consider a drop-off/pick-up service for the customer. I had to walk 2 miles each way. Otherwise it appears that they did a great job.

Early check in with phone was diffucult and frustrating. App would not allow photo take and had to use uhaul.com plus associate for help. Needs to be a better way. The process took about 35 minutes and I was almost late meeting 4 people helping me move.

The employee's and Hitch installer were very personable. There was some confusion with the online representative and the actual service hours of the Hitch installer at this location.

I rented online, my reservation wouldn't let me pick up my uhaul, went inside to get help the guy stood there for a good 10 mins asking me questions about my reservation without even looking it up, then took his sweet time "redoing" my reservation, and apparently your system "doesn't save cards on file for already scheduled reservations" which is beyond me why would you require a reservation if your system doesn't hold cards for that reason. Makes absolutely no sense. I will never use uhaul again. Especially at this location.

ON the pickup trucks tailgate, would not operate, using the button outside on the tailgate in cold tempertures You should have a Frequent Flyer program. Frequent users of U Haul should get a discount. I am a small local handyman service provider. U Haul cost hits hard on my bottom dollar.

It took an hour for the associate to get the paperwork done (the supervisor was able to deal with a client who came in well after me in under 10 minutes, while also assisting the associate). The associate originally assigned me a trailer that was needing repairs. I will not be going back to this site.

I returned my truck at 430 pm as well as some extra moving boxes that I purchased but didn't need. The clerk didn't refund me for the boxes AND didn't check the truck back in, I drove back to Uhaul after hours so that I could do the return on the app so I wasn't being billed for extra time.

The young lady we dealt with when we pick up the trailer was unfriendly and rude. When we would ask a question she would answer rudely before we even finished what we were saying acting like it was an inconvenience for her that we were even there. Drop off went a lot smoother because she wasn't there.

The person who checked me in needs a bit more training. He has nice and everything but there where 4 other parties waiting behind me. It would have been more helpful for someone to open the other register to help the other people. Everyone was good about the long wait.

I originally rented the truck for 6 days but my garage had mine fixed the first day so returned uhaul's the same day I rented it. In hindsight I'd have liked an explanation as to the procedure to lower the total charged on my credit card and the expected new amount. Otherwise everything was excellent.

Back of uhaul was not cleaned. Had used moving blankets that I did not ask for and dolly that I did not ask for. Also tons of coffee grounds and black window spiders.

Will you start with going on the Internet to look for a U-Haul close to you that will install a trailer hitch it gives you a list of for the date you choose. I choose the one in Augusta Maine to have the hitch installed. Three days later I get a phone call telling me you no longer have a technician there and that I now have to go somewhere else or I can take it somewhere else and have them welded in or I can transfer to a different U-Haul. I choose to choose to a closer U-Haul but now I have to drive all the way up to Augusta 50 miles out of my way to get the part That I bought or the hitch that I bought to take it to the Brunswick store to have them install it, which makes no sense to me wanna ask the girl that's on the phone if she could just ship it down there to the Brunswick store she said well you'll have to pay for the shipping and tells me I don't make the rules that's just the way it is my comment to her was well are you hiring me as a pick up service because my rates $10 a mile to pick something up and deliver it I mean it is U-Haul don't you carry trailer hitches at each location? Why is the one that I ordered online only at the Augusta store and not at the Brunswick store anyway that's my experience would I use U-Haul again no I wouldn't. I'd pay the extra hundred dollars to go somewhere else .

Quick check in and quick check out this time - not always the case at this location. Sparsely staffed, but I guess that's all the location can support, so I try to be understanding. (I prefer not to do the mobile check-in).

I had to reserve a couple of trucks to move the contents of a store ahead of quickly rising floodwaters in Hallowell. The young woman who worked there (I don't recall her name, but she had red hair) was very busy with other storm-affected customers who needed equipment and propane fills and I think she was working there alone. I was impressed by how she kept her composure and managed to help me out quickly and with kindness. You are fortunate to have her as an employee.

Very disappointed that my unit reservation was not honored. I was told there were no more units available in the size / price I reserved. I was offered a larger unit at the *standard* price. Since U-Haul did not honor my reservation, you should have at least honored the price on my reservation. Otherwise, this is just a game U-Haul is playing because finding an alternate storage provider in the area with the desired size and price is impossible to do on the day of move-in. I do not understand the purpose for U-Hail to offer unit reservation if they are meaningless… And giving me a free lock is ok, but I didn't ask for one, nor did I need one. I had the lock that I purchased from UHaul in May (plus the one I had purchased in May 2022). Further, the unit I was given had a rat poison container inside. Why would I want to entire rats to come in to my unit?

I was put on e alert because i brought my truck back later than my contract allowed. E alert is uhauls penalty for being late on a truck rental. Keep in mind i am a moving contractor and have been doing business with them for 13 plus years. I buy all my packing materials exclusively from uhaul as well as my truck leases. POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS !

We rented a car trailer. The straps that you put on the front tires. The handle that tighten those straps could use some oil or whatever you use for that. For a woman with small hands it was hard to use. Other then that it was great and would definitely go there again for my needs.

I reserved the 20' truck online. When I reserved it said it was guaranteed to be ready or I would get $50. When I got to the location it was not ready. They said I could take a 20' truck but I would have to drop off at a different location. They also said this would be a one way rate they could adjust. I didn't like this option because I would not have transportation upon returning the truck. They offered me a local 15' truck I asked if they had a 26' truck they said no. They didn't give me the $50. They told me I could not have the truck for the entire duration I had planned it had to be back before noon. I filled a complaint online and asked to contacted by text. I never heard back on this complaint from anyone.

For a 6hr rental $314 dollars was rather expensive with a mileage charge of &1,29 per mile Charge. Is Ridiculous if I may say so. Disappointing Richard

I arrived at this location to pick up the 15 ft truck at a time I had done on the phone for a reservation, there was no one available to assist me..Then I was told the truck wouldn't be available until 8:30 the next morning, of which didn't work due to my move. I stated that I needed a truck at that time, and it would be at the rate I had reserved for when I phoned and had confirmation to the rental. The service at the desk inside and out upon return , were rude, unpleasant, so much so I was angry upon pick and drop off.. The customer service is one I hope I never have to endure again...The attitude from the employees at the Augusta Maine location were just so disrespectful, and cold in their approach..You may want to consider developing a whole new approach and training in your customer service, as it now , I will never use this company again

The equipment was not properly maintained and was a safety threat, causing the vehicle to be loaded to fall off the trailer, due to a defective ramp latch

Order the parts before customers drop vehicle off for service, had to bring my vehicle two different times as uhaul didn't have what they needed. Then misplaced the hitch, and had to reorder a new one… took over a month to get a hitch on my jeep due to uhaul being unorganized… would not recommend… still had to pay full price after multiple mistakes.

I originally booked in Gardiner. Gardiner called saying they did not have the equipment and I could pick up in Augusta. I told them that would be right. When I got to Augusta the cost that I had coffee with Gardiner all of a sudden doubled because it was a new and different booking. Emily at Augusta was super nice and honored the original price I booked with Gardiner..

The truck pulled to the left bad. My only concern was they may not check safety measures. My drop off on Sunday I was unable to get anything to confirm it was dropped off on time due to the store being so busy with only 1 staff

Maybe have a crew on that isn't reeking of marijuana??? They explained NOTHING. I had three people involved in the rental pickup because nobody had the presence of mind to complete the work in the computer. Female swearing that she was leaving at two tomorrow (Saturday) no matter what was going on. It was dark when I picked up the vehicle, they pointed in the direction of where it was parked and said I should check the number on the key tag to the vehicle to know it's the right one. They didn't go to the vehicle with me, nor did they tell me anything about how to operate it. It was grinding and struggling every mile. I returned it after nine mikes and putting in a gallon of gas, yet they want to charge me an outrageous amount for fuel. I am disputing the charge with my credit card company. The redhead swore at me, "shit, fuck, bitch." Said she has to get high to deal with people like me! The young man also called me fucking stupid because I didn't take photos of the gas gauge and mileage before I left. Both these idiots were trying to take video of me! They said they were going to call the police - for WHAT? A dissatisfied customer? Female also threatened to increase the charges on my card - said I'd have trouble with it because of what she would do to the charges. I'd stay away from this place. The only person who acted professionally was an older guy who was trying to calm down the two young idiots. He said he'd only been there a couple of months. Keep him and clean up this 'joint'!!!

Windows and Windshield were Very dirty , to the point of being blinding when the sun hit them. not ideal for anyone heading out in a vehicle they are unfamiliar with, that's probably much larger than what they are used to! other than having to clean the glass inside and out... The Van was great, Rental and return were easy, and the folks in Augusta very friendly and helpful.

Often times, the staff did not seem to know what was going on. I called and spoke with Aiden who told me it was OK for ABF trailer to be delivered to the site and left overnight while I loaded it. Then Brianna refused to allow the ABF trailer to stay -this exacerbated the stress in my move. I'm also concerned because I was told that with each U-Haul truck rental, I would receive one month of free storage. Seems silly to me that the rule is Storage in one facility is not allowed. but what if that is what your customer needs?

Process to secure the unit online was inconvenient and time consuming. The pictures wouldn't load and the whole process took some time. Then I got charged double price of 99,95 when I only asked for 1 month. I called and they said they didn't see 2 charges but the money has already been taken out of my account. So it's my loss i guess. Not fair.

Overall a good experience. I have two critiques that made this a 4 star experience rather than 5 star. 1) I had a upper level locker which required use of the portable staircase. The opening at the top of the staircase was too narrow to easily passing U-Haul medium and large boxes into the locker. Therefore, we had to lift the boxes over the rail. I would have expected the staircase to be designed to the dimensions of the U-Haul boxes. 2) The units are billed by the month, and the rate is not prorated if I move out mid-month. I went one week past my bill date, but paid for the whole month. I'm sure they rented out the unit after I moved out and effectively collected double payment for the last 3 weeks of the month. I leaves a bad taste.

I did not like driving into the U-Haul driveway, towing my vehicle after a six hour trip, and not knowing who to talk to for assistance. There were several staff people there unbeknownst to me as they had no uniform or T-shirt, indicating that they were employees.

One employee I would never want to deal with again. He did the rental truck return check. I'm not sure that I wasn't still overpaying. He tried to add a $18 fee for the gas tank amount. The truck as returned just under full as what it was when I rented it. He tried to document 1/2 full tank. This guy was not pleasant in any way, was very arrogant! The other employee was very professional and verified that the gas tank was as I said. I'm sorry for not catching his name or the other guys name. One should be terminated and the other should get a raise. My complaint is of the rental truck and not the storage rental.

Very clean and staff were friendly, the staff were not well trained, however. I'm used the system, so I assisted in locating available storage at the facility. Also, I helped them navigate the check-in process… I am happy with the convenience of the storage and rental vehicle(s) at this facility.

My unit had no lights and leaked when it rained. The insurance we purchased is refusing to pay replacement value for damaged items, depreciating even new items and delaying payment. The front office folks were decent and assisted with reporting that the unit did actually leak, but the insurance company would not accept their word and required photos from a unit with no lights and a roof leak.

To many hidden charges when moved out was charged a fee of 16,95 that was not told about I moved out the day before any renewal was billed for another month when I went in and told I was all move out very poor service also was charged for the return of truck when staff didn't even check out the truck when I was present

The young black man who was working out back was most helpful. However the young man who waited on me needs to lay off the marijuana while he is at work. I' m sure he is a nice young man but this is not helping him think clearly. He was trying hard to do a good job though. .I feel like someone may have alerted my stalker that I was there as he pulled in while I was renting. Which is not a coincidence. I am in hopes that my stuff won't be stolen from the unit before I can get it out. This is a very small community and everyone seems to know the person I have a pfa on. I stopped by today to ask some questions and change the lock. I also called about getting extra insurance on my things and no one could answer my question? Please let me know if I can purchase additional insurance. The truck I rented was a clunker and I had concerns about it breaking down. It was an old moving van. Im sure you have newer models. I also tried to change the lock into something that could not be picked as I am concerned the lock I was provided with can be picked and my things stolen. I hope you can understand my predicament and watch out for my unit.

A sign at the foot of the stairs mentions that elevators are available. I couldn't find an elevator. Otherwise a good facility.

Zack in the augusta maine facility was more than accomadating and helped us with a flash light while there is no light inside the storage unit we rented and also let us know that the trucks were going to be moved and the back was to be snow plowed so we could get the rest of our stuff out before our free month ran out . Above normal customer service . He has great people skills and needs a pay raise 殺

Staff was not helpful in research into account and charges related to the account, told to call customer service as they sat and watched, refused to service after being asked to look into charges nobody could seem to find that was linked with a reservation # and order #. Why would a company provide a customer with such reference numbers if you have no way to research with them, gives your customers and future customers a false sense of trust in company that refuses to stand by their word and then refuses to help a customer when they are being told they are rude for inquiring. I'm allowed to be frustrated that my confirmed reservation was cancelled and charges from UHaul on my debit card could not be located and refused to give the merchandise purchased without the researched receipt. Bad customer service for such a high priced storage unit. Let's hope the rest of my interactions through out this process improve.

Uhaul is a great company to work with. I have rented trucks from them numerous times and it is always hassle-free. Recently rented a climate controlled storage unit from them and it was also a great experience. They keep the building clean and secure. Very customer oriented company.

The pricing is steep, we where told when we first inquired that they had units " half the size of a two car garage!" We thought sweet okay for that price that's great.... come to find out it was actually 10 times smaller than that and we needed to utilize 2 units instead of just one!( thank fully staff on was able to help work out a deal for this false information and took the first month of of the second one so we had a 2 for 1 month deal, but all we had was a couch a bed Frame( in peices), a box spring, and a few loose items, these took up 90 % of both units " half the size of a two car garage!" Not!, and the late fees are ridiculous one day late and you charge $20 for a "delinquent Fee" I appreciate the storage availability.. but again the prices, lies, and late fees are what took had us move out!

I signed my contract repeatedly and it never stuck in the system until I did it online. I repeatedly changed my address and left a credit card but never was charged as expected. The store locked my storage unit and would not reply to my messages until corporate got involved. I know times are hard but this was ridiculous. So happy to be done with this mess.

The manager, Shane, was very helpful. I am not an easy person to work with but Shane showed great patience and respect working with me. His knowledge and people skills speaks volumes for UHAUL. I would definitely recommend UHAUL to anybody that asks me.

Loading dock should be monitored, sometimes vehicles unload and just stay parked. Besides that very clean and a free lock!

Was told that original unit I reserved online was not available. Very unclean storage unit (we swept a lot of dirt, two construction nails). Large pole in middle of storage unit. After-hours contact didn't answer when we called, or return my call. Overall a very disappointing experience and I don't plan to return.

The unit I reserved was an 8x10. Reservation on the books for two months. Upon arrival the unit is about a 6x8 if that and no other units available. Not to mention the astronomical price. I went elsewhere and got a 10x25 for the same price. Extremely unhappy.

I was quoted $29 for a 4x4 storage locker. When I got there it is $59/month and I have to climb rickets stairs. Its a complete hazard and completely unsafe. I will be moving out asap! Horrible

Heather Poore is OUTSTANDING! First, she took my initial phone call, answered all my questions and made me feel comforted in having to handle a last-minute, unplanned move of my college student due to coronavirus. Then when I arrived from NJ the next day, her smiling face met me and she again calmly explained everything and got me set up. This is my first time renting storage; she was patient, helpful and didn't rush me. Then I made three trips to the facility in the next 24 hours. I was impressed with the cleanliness, the access to carts, the security, etc. I can't say enough about how Heather went above and beyond and how all the little things she did added up to reducing my stress in a time when I greatly appreciated it. Also, thanks for the one-month free for displaced college students. I thought that was a very classy and empathetic move by UHaul. You earned my business and Heather is the reason you'll keep my business.

The only problem I experienced was that the overhead garage door would not open so we couldn't get large items in or out for at least two weeks. They fixed it and we had no further problems.

Overpriced storage units (roughly $135 more than competitors). Pad locks are required, but not provided. Often understaffed. & They input a character limit to decrease quantity of criticism.
