Equipment was fine. Customer service is awful. I tried calling a half dozen times and they just forwarded me to the national customer service menu. Employees are not friendly at all.

Everytime I use their location in Bismarck they are always accommodating and work with me and my needs, the workers are amazing as well as the owner who is always there working as hard as everyone. I would fully recommend them for every move you need!

When I initially rented the U-Haul truck, its tank was almost on Empty. When I dropped the truck off, I left it with only a half of a tank. I do not donate fuel to a company that didn't provide a full tank to begin with. I parked the truck myself as there didn't appear to be anyone working. I managed to find the front office and one of the employees was laying down on a stack of boxes, immersed in his cell phone. He got up when I walked further into the main entrance to drop off the keys. Another young man, who was sitting at the desk was playing with his cell phone as well. When I dropped off the keys, they seemed quick to get me out of their. They did as if I parked it, which I had. They said they would send me the receipt. I asked if they had an email on file to which they asked for my email (my email wasn't initially given to them, it was my daughters email on file) The two young men didn't seem to care what condition the truck was in, nor ask me if it was clean. I've had good experiences in the past with this location, however, I would recommend that management reevaluate who they schedule on weekends.

Everything was great, there were only 2 slight issues. Originally I had reserved a 5x8 enclosed trailer but when I arrived they didn't have any so I was given an "upgrade" to a 6x12. Normally this wouldn't have been an issue, but it would have been nice to know that ahead of time the vehicle I had planned on using for it is rated for it so I had to use a different vehicle. Also, when I did my self return the app wouldn't let me upload pictures, but so far that hasn't seemed to be an issue.

I made my reservation for minot location however the day before pick up I received a notification that they did not have anything available and I was to drive 2 hours to the next closest facility. This was an inconvenience, however the staff was very friendly and helpful for picking up and loading my vehicle on the car hauler.

Location tried applying a BS charge to my credit card on file because they had to refold moving blankets. I didn't agree to the charge and they refused to remove it. Will be contesting it with my card issuer.

We rented a trailer. Returned it two days early. The guy at the counter was complaining about the company, had no clue what he was doing and apparently failed to log it back in. Three days later we get a call with UHaul wanting to know when we were bringing the trailer back. They charged is for the full period of time even the time of their mistake. Make sure you get you follow up on what they do as this is not the first time they overcharged us.

I tried moving out of my storage unit before I got charged another month, but there was two locks on my storage unit. The next day I went into the office and they did not know why there was two locks on the unit. They tried blaming my husband and I said he wouldn't do that. They told me they would have to charge me $50 to remove it, even thou I did not place the lock on there and have no idea how an extra lock got place on my unit. Even thou it was a uhaul lock they provide to renters. I asked maybe if it got placed on there by accident but they said there are no notes or anything they can find and I will have to pay the $50. I ran home to grab my wallet once returning they told me the guy was no longer there to remove the lock till the following day. So I got charged another month and now have to pay $50 on top of that to remove a lock I did not place. I got a phone call the following day saying the lock wa are moved that afternoon around 11am. I got off work and was there about 5pm get to my unit and both locks were still on one was damaged and it was my lock. The man came around the corner and I told him you are cutting the wrong lock. He told me the staff told him that lock and I specifically told them which lock. He looked at both locks and said they will both have to be removed anyways. So we waited for both locks to be removed even thou they said it had already been done. I had removed all my things that night and let the office know I want moved out of the system. He said he was not able to do it that night that it will take two days. I called corporate office three days later after moving out due to Bismarck location not picking up my phone calls just to find out they had moved me out of the system that day. I am very upset with how things had transpired and how the customer service there was handled. The front desk man did not care I was being charged did not care I was upset and did not have the time to care for his customers.

I had a 10 foot truck and a 10x10 storage unit reserved for my move, I got the truck but when I got to the uhaul with my truck full of stuff Nick was new and having a hard time and was pm the phone with the GM, he checked me out for a 10x10 storage unit and gave me a key card, once I reached the storage unit that I was told would be mine it had a lock on it. I sat around this uhaul for 3 hours trying to figure this out. Just for the GM to tell me there were no storage units available meanwhile I have a uhaul truck full of my belongings and nowhere to put it. I was then charged for 2 more days ONTOP of the extra day for the storage unit mistake. I want a full refund. I am extremely dissatisfied and upset. Not only did this affect my job, now I'm 700$ in the whole because of an expense I wasn't expecting.

Nick was great he helped me out as much as he could. However I had a storage unit reserved and scheduled for my move in date but when. I got there it took 3 hours and 10 phone calls to the gm just to tell me they have no storage units available, I got charged for 4 nights but only had it for 3 and only needed it for 2. I am demanding a refund. This has cost me more money than I have overno fault of my own

Excellent job upon retaining a rental truck very friendly professional and courteous office work. I rented a unit as well but the bathroom facility was filthy. My previous experience renting a unit the bathrooms were clean every time I went there.

Trk wasn't ready. Rear door froze shut and worker refused to assist. No hand dolly's. Had to go buy one. Trailer transport not available and had to drive 3 hours to get. Paid fuel for this trip myself. Overall, a terrible experience. I may not ever come back to rent from U-Haul

You're detailer. Beyond the worst uhaul experience yet. Besides being forced to pay for 2 days when I was reserved for one, the vehicle was disgusting 濫 cigarettes and ashes in ash tray, black sticky stuff in cup holders. The vehicle has a constant squeal and had issues moving from a stopped position. And I am still waiting for my 100$ refund from a previous rental I never received. None the less. I detailed interior(besides ash tray, took out cigarettes tho) I washed the truck and put more fuel tha required in it.

Tell customers about the 15 minute rule when customer pays. Has to be off lot and you can't make changes like adding insurance once you leave the lot.. I asked to pay and come back in hour... wanted to go eat, relieve after 3 hr drive gas my car and prepare for loading. Plus after insurance info was gonna call my insurance company while at meal. Said no you pay you take off lot. I asked if I could add insurance after I called my company..she said no you have only 1st 15 minutes to add insurance. Was lucky to learn she extended my pickup time so I could do those things.

Terrible was to use app but didn't work then had to go inside which turn into another wait then handed keys find for yourself. Went to return at night after places said return to this location the app wouldn't let me dropped at that location waited on phone for 30 minutes to figure out. They sure charge if you don't do something but nothing when they mess up. 1 hour could of been loading and unloading wasted which anybody knows time is never on your time

Trash! Charging people after they drop the truck off is shady. Everyone should be told before they leave what they are paying NOT have hidden shit come up like a cleaning fee for dirty equipment smh. How you gone charge people stupid shit like that? Never again.

I would first change your website! On Sunday afternoon I scheduled the installation of a hitch. I selected Monday at 9:00 AM and I also checked I would wait for the car. At 8:45 I show up only to be told the technician doesn't start until 11! Why let me schedule for 9? I had fortunately had a friend who said he would pick me up. The estimated time to complete is under two hours and it was done at 4. I should have priced hitches elsewhere.

In winter months, please make sure the pullout ramp is free from ice build up. The person that rented it before must have driven it on the highway creating ice build up underneath. So when I tried pulling it out, it wouldn't come out. I spent about an hour using a hammer trying to break off ice so it would roll out.

The location should have the reserved vehicle ready and all warmed up for customers once they arrive. Customers should not have to warm the vehicles up and scrap snow and ice off when they are picking up the vehicle.

So at this facility One customer service rep was very polite knew her knew her job correctly and was very happy with that but there was a gentleman there that was very nasty added something to my bill that was not supposed to be added and then when I commented on it he was very rude and then on the way out the door he looked back he was laughing I said I'm glad you think that's funny he said I wasn't laughing very unprofessional other coworkers said he was salty the day I rented it because he was the only one at the desk so for him to be nasty to customers because of that is really not not professional at all and I was really upset this morning before I went to work which was not cool I suffer from anxiety anyway. Didn't make for good start of a day that's for sure.

This is the best U-Haul Storage I have been to thus, far!!! Staff is very friendly, helpful and high quality! 10 out of 10 recommend getting a storage here and nowhere else. The extra pay for the 24 Hour access is worth it weight in gold as a stand alone.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Kyle,at first meeting and signing up,I was quoted a monthly rate. It was increased 2months later to almost 50 bucks more. They said I was in the wrong storage unit!! As if I assigned myself into the unit. That unit was budgeted into my bills and I couldn't afford it,so guess what The unprofessional and illegal actions Kyle took: This general manager charged my debit card without my permission!! Several times. He got the debit card info not from me submitting it for automatic payments, but just looked at what I used in the past to make payments with. I would be in jail if I did that to him or uhaul.

If The local phone number to the Bismarck uhaul would be easier to get through it would be way more convenient. Uhaul worked with me on fees when I couldn't get there to take care of things and staff was always friendly.

My initial intake was decent with the explanation of how the storage work. Downhill afterwards,FAR downhill and the sad part is I like the general manager,Kyle. However,Kyle showed me how he feels about his customer's experience. First, my debit card was charged without my permission. Never even discussed an automatic payment. He just went back and used an account that I used to make a payment and charged it. I told him about it and he ignored me and never apologized. That's transaction fraud and if I had done that to U-Haul I would be arrested. That's illegal and he charged me cause I was in the wrong size storage and THEY are the ones who assigned it to me. Caused me to have to pull out and now my stuff is outside somewhere. Bad moves on U-Haul.. bad. I'm disappointed because the system is great but when decided to move in , I did it with a certain budget in mind, then after a couple of months, it goes up$30+ dollars and Kyle said it was MY fault!! Excuse me but I don't assign myself the room if my choice. No apologies from anyone, no customer options , no diligence to fix and nonprofessional from the general manager. Let me tell you, the store is always a reflection of the manager. I called customer service at U-Haul and the things I was told would be done in my behalf,was a lie. No one looked into it and now I'm about to lose everything I have. Thanks Kyle for lying and being a let down.

There's a mistake on the key to my locker which caused a surmountable inconvenience time I had to rent the truck then for an extra day put extra miles paid for extra gas took another probably another 12 hours of my weekly schedule and then I didn't have much help kind of like it just wasn't much help the snow was not removed I did the snow removal and I expected discount I want my mileage count I want the truck count and I guess I'll pay for the gas which is quite a bit in my time which was way more than all of it together Thanks I'm not sure if I can recommend or refer. That being said I really do expect a refund on the truck rental at least but other than that the facility looks good it's convenient stuff like that but I shouldn't have to do your snow removal twice I didn't have to ask questions or I shouldn't have to sit there till 9:30 on customer service wondering why nobody will help me or why I just can't open up a customer ready locker and put my stuff in there right away instead has told I had to wait by your customer service so that took the next day which it snowed which I had to work which pushed everything behind and it cost me tell me about $500 in wages so but if you count the truck I think we'll be good and then I'll probably refer you thank you

Staffing was always courteous, the lady who set up the unit explained everything very clearly, the facility was clean. Pricing was steep considering nearby cities offered better rates. Overall score would be 6 of 10. The biggest disappointment was a non-working elevator for nearly two months. Due to a 2010 back surgery, I had to hire movers to remove my items from a lower unit at $127.50. Uhaul needs to offer more support to its stores in situations like this. As a former call center supervisor, there is no good reason for such slow action, the elevator is in your advertisements. Expenses are part of doing business, and response times to issues are noticed by customers.

There was nothing wrong with the facility itself. I had a 10'×10' storage unit. The cost was extremely high at $159 a month. Temperature control statement is a reach as it was really cold in the winter and hot in the summer in there. I was on vacation one time this past summer and forgot to pay my unit. I was like 2 days late, that's when you guys forced a payment through eventhough I don't have my card on file with you.... weird huh. I had the money that's not the issue. Issue is someone had my card number there, and that's what I tell peoeple when asked about storage with you guys.. . Cost way to much and their employees will have access to your card number. I just got a 10'x16' storage unit from your competitor for $65 a month.. Much better deal.

You would've received an excellent rating had it not been for your poorly maintained elevator that I was temporarily trapped inside of! This slow and more immobile than mobile safety hazard of an elevator has been broken down and not working properly all so that customers can actually move their belongings out of storage safely and efficiently. Are their no Elevator mechanics in Bismarck who can maintain and keep this elevator working properly so that it doesn't take 5 times longer to haul items from the bottom level to the main floor?This is not acceptable and needs to repaired immediately!

The Dude that checked me in was very nice and helpful. Sat am I go back and the drive way had 2 trailers and a uhaul vehicle blocking entry. The guy said I couldn't get in. I turned my car off and said I need to get to my storage. He moved uhaul. Hopefully all goes well Sunday.

General Manager was impossible to get ahold of. He failed to prorate units as stated in the move-in. We reserved a 10x10 unit and since he gave our unit away, he gave us 2 5x10 units stating we wouldn't pay extra and they "are the same square footage". When it came to pay rent, we were getting charged for 2 5x10s instead of a single 10x10. We tried for 3 days to contact him, and never actually did get to talk with him. The issue was solved without us ever talking to him. When I moved out of the first 5x10, I did so online. It stated that it would be pending general manager approval for up to 48 hours and he never did approve the move out. When we moved out of the second unit, we talked to a very polite and helpful female worker who was able to move us out of both units. The entire process of getting the units and trying to pay rent was stressful and frustrating. We won't be using U-Haul again as long as the same general manager is there.

My only complaint is your prices are a little too high for the size of storm that you offered but I do like that they are climate controlled The only other thing I did not like was constantly having to swipe the card to open the door while loading a U-Haul it would be nice if you had something that you could just touch even if you had something that you could hook to someone’s keychain to sit in touch with Bobbe or something to let you in

My storage unit was broken into and I lost property. The store manager Kyle was not helpful, my insurance agent and I was unable to see video footage. There is a suspect and when she is caught, I am asking law enforcement to investigate the relationship between her and staff/manager. I believe this is an inside job. Uhaul advertises safe clean secure. Not secure at all. I cleaned my unit when I moved out. There is a large water puddle out side of my unit in the hall. I informed staff and they just said it's always there. It has been there for two years.

Your clerk Ashley was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, but she seemed to be the only one there, so busy with 3 of us to take care of. She did an amazing job. The only complaints I had with the experience was, online it said I reserved a main level unit (2 showing available) but none were available when I got there so I had to take a lower level. The other was the access key, takes some learning with the many card swipe units available so a tutorial would have been helpful. Ashley showed me the basics but she could have used more counter help so she would have had more time to get in depth with the access key. That was not on her. Overall, very pleased. Thank you. First I was canceled on for my ubox's twice the day before they were to arrive. Then when I got my uhaul I was told to call and talk to a staff member at the storage location. I called and talked to a guy saying I will need storage in two days I'm driving up from idaho and I was told to call by uhaul to make sure there will be space the guy I talk to chuckled and said they will have space. I got to the storage and said I was told you guys will have room for my stuff when called the guy said ok. I told him what I was driving and asked what I would need he said he will only have 2 large units which will only fit my first truck. I then said well what can be done about the second truck. He then said I don't know what it will fit in I only have the small units left. I ask how many I will need to fit my truck load in. He said I don't know. I was like so you don't know what your storage units hold. He said yes but I don't know what you are needing storage so I can not say if it will fit. And then said I do not like your attitude. At this point I was still calm just talking harshly because the agent was not even making an effort to help me. But after he don't want to assist and didn't want to listen to misidentified or my frustrating experience. I then said oh OK let me tell you why I'm frustrated explained the canceled ubox and then the call that I made earlier. He then said but did you make a reservation. I'm like I did not say the word reservation but I spoke to someone saying want I need and when and when I got off the phone I thought it was taking care of. I then asked again what I need for my to trucks at this point he says I will not service you you need to leave. I was like really you have not done anything have not answered any of my questions and are completely un willing to help me I asked for the manager that was not there he gave me a card and told me to call the manager. I asked to use a phone to so since there was one right there oh and the. He finally did something and called the manager on his phone. Which the manager was not going to be in until 2pm I was frustrated at this time. And still continue to ask what I would need he still said I do not know what your hauling so I can not help you. At this point I had verbally ask if he is going to ask what I'm hauling so I can get help. He then said I don't know what you want from me. Really I only have been asking the whole time. So I said slowly are you going to ask me what I'm uhauling so you can help and actually help me. He then after the long time ever just trying to get some assistance said I will give you the 2 box to start with and then you can come back and order more if need be ..... so I said thank you that is all I want this whole time is some help and some effort on you part and this whole issue could have been resolved.

But renting a truck with uhaul I never rent a truck for out state driving I was told I wasn't going to be charge for tolls or anything in my car nd after 2 months of renting I noticed I was getting charged every 2 weeks from 30 to 20 dollars at my debit card when I paid almost 1 800 dollars in cash nd I was told it includes toll nd mileage I end up paying almost 2,ooo after I noticed the charges on my debit card wich I went and changed my debit card to avoid charges I recommend do not give ur debit card when renting for uhaul nd if u do use a pre-paid master card

Waited about 20 mins before a staff even came to front desk. Yelled in garage but no one still only to have worker come out of bathroom and was rude. I've had good experiences with other workers but this worker was on the phone first time I went to open storage and i had to keep repeating myself to him. Second time he had ear buds in his ears and I again had to repeat myself!!

The online process is very easy and I appreciated it. Maybe the only improvement could be the possibility to choose which unit among those available? Because I have now 2 units, one on the 2nd and one one the basement floors. The human factor is less than ideal. There was no lock in either room, although the emails from the online booking specified it, and I had to purchase those. Every time I had a problem ( and I had many related to the in person renting process, as well as with the online ) the wait on the phone call for customer service was more than 1/2 hr and the person could not solve my problem ( the first time she could not even understand it). Luckily, your online format is very helpful so I could solve my problems despite the human factor...

Kyle Wright sucks at managing this place. He had charged me for a late fee of $15, twice before the 6th day of the month. It clearly states $15 after the first and $15 again after the 15th day of the month late rent. So I had to pay extra just to get into my storage, and when I went in to get a bag out of my storage he stated he was going to call the cops because I wasnt allowed to go into my own things/storage without paying first which I told him I had paid that day and to go head and call who ever because I had proof I paid online. And then I finally closed me storage with them last month and now almost 2 weeks later he has charged me a " $25 cleaning fee" on my card which was only removing a 2 queen size mattresses. When I was closing out my account I had told the young man who closed my account for me they were in there and I couldnt get them out by myself because I am 8 and a half almost 9 months pregnant now and he said he would take care of that for me. Now to see Kyle is charging me $25 for that is ridiculous. This storage is way over priced and the manager, Kyle, is not fit to be running businesses where he can just rip people off like that and feels like he can do as he pleases with others money. Especially during this pandemic. He is a awful and I hope he gets replaced or demoted overall. This storage has so much more ability to get customers if he wasn't such a a**hole and money hungry

The best part about the storage is that it is climate controlled and has security. I also appreciated the large loading/unloading bay, large elevator, and the free to use moving carts.

The staff rating really should be a "sometimes" friendly. We leased up to 4 units for 5 years & U-haul Bismarck was a well oiled machine back when Brian was the Manager.Not the same service like then.
