I used U-Haul storage for 3 years and never had any issues. The staff was friendly and helpful. I used the website to make payments and it was very easy to use and convenient.

Scott JohnsonThe employee who checked me in was very uninformed and unhelpful. For example, we were never told how much gas we were supposed to put back in the tank before returning our truck, so we fully filled the tank. Upon checking out at the front desk, we were informed that we should only fill the tank half way. We ended up paying way more for gas than we should have and it's a result of the employee who checked us in at the beginning of the day. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

Issadin KOSARHorrible U haul experience. First and one time user. Do not recommend. My experience consisted of having my overall travel increased by over 150miles, changes to pickup location and "acceptable" delivery location with little to no advance notification, and being informed that if I don't take the trailer to their specified (revised) drop off location (which changed via email… an hour after I started driving) I would potentially be charged 100s of dollars. I know the individuals that work at these locations/branches are not at fault and they are likely victims of the system no different than myself; the failure is the U Haul logistics system. If the use of their product is unavoidable, plan on setting your expectations low and watch your app, text messages, and emails… while legally driving. I've personally told 3 people today of my poor experience today and will share my story with emphasis to anyone that will listen. I will avoid using U haul in the future at all expense and will recommend that others do similarly. I would recommend to use local (non-corporate) rental providers instead…. Spending the extra $$$ would have saved me hours, miles, money, and frustration.

Not great customer service on that. As for the vehicle, I wouldn't say it was well maintained. The shifting of the transmission was questionable. Thankfully we didn't have far to go and were able to get our moving done.

Patrick RichnerI have zero complaints about the customer service. The person helping me was very friendly-although he was multitasking between me and another person. (I did not mind at the time-but later I felt "some important things" might've been missed because the attention was being shared) I was hastily told when I picked up the truck that the gas tank was full and I needed to return the truck in the same condition.. I filled up the tank before I returned the truck and the gas charge equaled way above what I used as far as mileage. I brought this up to the person at the register and they said that "they don't give the trucks out with a full gas tank" and "it is all registered within their computer system." Ummm-How then would I know how much gas to put in before I bring it back? I drove 11 miles and ended up paying around $12 in gas to "fill up the tank" as was requested. Aside from the gas issue-everything else was seamless as far as renting the truck.

At the last minute we received a text that the trailer was not available. we consequently had to drive to Blaine to pick up the trailer which was about a 40 minute drive. I feel if there wasn't a trailer available when we reserved it , we should have been told at time of reservation. It hugely impacted our plans by having to drive across minneapolis to pick up this trailer.

The lady who was serving was very aggressive and angry at the person who went to help get the uhaul and also aggressive and angry at me. When I approached her about it she said she was joking at the staff, then she began angrier and canceled my service. Because I didn't have enough time to search for another uhaul location, I decided to retake the storage and uhaul. On the next day, when I went to the storage to put stuff in it, the door couldn't open. Then I went to the staff to get help from them but, no one was available to help me to open the storage door in that cold and freezing weather, so I returned all the stuff that were in the car. Another thing was the car manage. From 9890 central Ave. to 698 Highland Tril was 10miles but the manage they entered was 20 miles.

I wasn't able to even fully explain the situation I was seeing with multiple credit card charges/double billing before breach of contract and auctioning my items were mentioned, and further efforts to try and actually explain the situation were met with an aggressive tone, immediately cutting me off mid sentence and not allowing me to explain the full situation. This experience is THE specific reason I moved out of both storage units we had rented. We now have a storage unit with another company, and will not be using uhaul in the future for our storage or moving needs after this experience.

Told to wait > 30 minutes for locksmith (and I paid $50) and when he did not show employee drove to storage unit and cut off lock in 5 minutes. Should be standard offering and who kept my $50. Some employees to busy to be pleasant or helpful. Customers bother them. Days after we called to verify they knew we were out of the unit, we still got a e-mail for a bill to continue. Need to get your act together. Good: Several employees we pleasant, helpful and knew what they were doing. Overall I would use U-Haul again. Just have to be watchful.

Even though that wasnt the big reason I couldnt pay for the storage units, it was very disgusting and did make me very angry. Personal things caused me to fall behind on my storage and I apologize and never was my intention to bail or not pay for my storage but very disappointed with how the storage units were not taken care of. When I have the funds, I do plan to pay my debts but right now, I am barely making ends meet. Also did not like the attitude of the manager as she was rude and disrespectful.

stephanie mccartney | Expérience généraleIt may seem weird I would give a poor experience when all the bullet points say yes, but here is the deal, was the staff friendly, yes, but it took four people to get the simplest thing done, the first gentlemen was very friendly, but couldn't do one thing right, the second person helped him a little, then walked away leaving him once again to struggle, a third person joined the struggle, but he too left when things got too complicated, finally it took one young man to take over and complete the task of taking my online reservation to rent a storage and make it happen, but this poor soul was running the entire show at this facility, it was like he was the only person that could get anything done right. Even after he had completed my transaction, the card he gave me wouldn't open the gate, and I had to wait and additional 15 minutes just to interrupt the young man who was helping someone else and tell him my card wouldn't open the gate. It took me 1 hour and 20 minutes from the time I got there to the time I left for me to drop off an air compressor into storage. So painful.

I've rented equipment there before and never had trouble. I don't know what to say.

I was told to return the next day and speak with the manager. It was taken care of immediately, but it did unexpectedly make my acct negative and am still waiting for my refund. Moving out could have been done on time had my gate access card worked. Very difficult to get moved out of storage in a timely manner when the best time to move is evening / nite time hours and you can't get in to your unit. JERRY MCCULLOUGH | Expérience généraleThe staff was great; always friendly and helpful. We had three units for approx 9 months; spanning summer through spring. We were storing all our personal belonging from our home after we sold our home and were looking for a new one. All three units were outside. Unit One's plastic sheeting along the ceiling was 'flaking' and left everything in that unit extremely dirty. Unit Two had water on the floor at one point. We are assuming from the ceiling?? It caused an excess of humidity which ruined several items and required lots and lots of extra cleaning. For example, I had a Rock Salt lamp that sweated and left a salt residue all over the box it was in. Premium boxes that were supposed to last for several moves, caved in on themselves due to the humidity resulting in boxes we couldn't restack when moving, and damaged items. Unit Three had mice issues. Everything had to be sanitized; they climbed into the holes that you use to carry the boxes and had feces in 95 % of the boxes. This unit housed all of our kitchen items, so probably had food smells which I'm sure attracted them as well. I spent weeks sanitizing every item I could, and threw away what I couldn't... that included linens, kitchen electronics, furniture, etc. We lost a lot of things. One thing to note is this unit is on the outside of the property which is next to a tree line, so we are assuming that is why we had issues with that one. We opted to go with the outside units because we wanted to save money. We have never used storage before and thought it would be fine. We were wrong. If we have to move again, we would never consider this as a viable option. That being said, the staff was great and very helpful.
