The reserved pick up truck was not available as they could not get in touch with who rented it before me. So I go back home, call over an hour later, still the truck was not returned that I had reserved. I was offered a van and took it as I had to move something that day, but since it was not a truck I could not pick up another piece of furniture so I only did half of what I intended due to the reservation not being available. The attendant told me the manager at this store would try to not give me the reservation guarantee money, so she gave me a number to U-Haul directly. This was on a Saturday and the manager was out of the office. So I call back Tuesday and was told the manager already denied the guarantee BECAUSE I PICKED IT UP LATE! THE TRUCK WAS NEVER AVAILABLE and of course it was technically picked up late because I waited a few hours to see if the pick up truck would be returned. I called U-Haul customer service and the lady pretty much laughed at me. It was an extremely wild experience. I will be posting this review on the local U-Haul's Google reviews as well. I will also say, no one called me to tell me the truck was not there, which seems like a basic step in this process when something like this happens. The manager at this location seems to be some sort of power trip loser.

When speaking to the employee he originally informed us there was nothing he could do and would need to cancel. When I called UHaul directly in front of him, he "all of a sudden" remember they had another car carrier and issued that to me. Overall, very unsatisfied with UHaul. I will most likely not use your services again as well as recommending others to avoid. Between messing my reservation up 3 times, in 2 different locations, to the people we hired to move our stuff (who where very unprofessional and damaged walls in our house), what a huge waste of money I wish I could get back. Never again.

James BrannamThe brakes were broken - anytime I went over 40 when I applied the brakes the steering wheel would shake back and forth violently. The faster I was going the worse it would be. I ended up not being able to go over 55 for the entire trip and nearly had to double trip time due to how often I had to get off the road to deal with the brakes. I also couldn't move the mirrors which was incredibly unsafe. I could call to switch vans because I had a specific timeline snd only had help to move stuff for a few hours the day before the move. I'm not sure how the trucks are inspected before but it was very scary traveling down a mountain with a truck thay didn't want to stop.

Dean EvansI hope new trainees are taught the ins & outs that these 2 know. I rent enough that I have extra phone numbers for scheduling & other mishaps that these 2 know can be fixed. My starting location, though in business a long time, are 2 men that don't know how to do certain things on the computer or the right people to call to make things right. These 2 ladies DO! I can't isn't in my vocabulary & it isn't in theirs. There's always a way to fix things & the Boone location can. It just takes asking nicely! Thx gals! Train all your help the things you both know to make transactions seamless!

The staff was extremely accommodating. Michelle went above and beyond assisting me. I had to keep changing our arrival time due to road and weather conditions on the way up.

And the "free lock" was as covered in heavy dust. The latch is rusty and very hard to open and close. And that rope to open and close the door felt like a crusty sock. I also said I was going to move in the 8th and I arrived and had to call the office to move their parked trucks out of the way so I could access the unit. And if it wasn't for the knife I was carrying I wouldn't have been able to remove the latch. Definitely don't recommend unless you wanna feel scammed.

There needs to be a logistical overhaul for where to park the trucks when they're not in use so they are not be in the way of customers trying to park and and get into their units. Overall, the staff made it an excellent experience and they were great with their communication and quick to respond.

The staff is rude when you ask them to move the vehicles to get access to your units. Staff member even lied on me and my friend saying we harassed her when asking to have trucks moved. This facility needs new management and needs to resolve there issues with blocking people unitswith trucks. Burnt out units that haven't been fixed. Tow dolly sitting around without wheels in between the isles. Just a awful place and thats why I closed down my unit.

It literally only took Michelle no longer than fifteen minutes for us to complete our two rental units. We also added U-Haul's insurance for both units because of Michelle mentioning it us. We had no clue until yesterday about the insurance your company provides when renting one of your unit. I've rented y U-Haul's units for years and your company's insurance has never been mentioned to us before until yesterday. We do have home owners insurance but for the quote Michelle gave us for both units to be insured by U-Haul we couldn't resist. Michelle is definitely a keeper. Thanks, Karl Smith Boone, N.C.

We spent about $1000K on 3 moving trucks over a 3 week period. 2 of the rentals entitled us to 2 months of free storage. I was told that I could use those consecutively but when I tried to call and verify at the end of the first month, I could never get through to Jennifer who needed to make the decision. Her ineptitude caused me to go over the first free month and since they did not honor their word and let me have the 2nd free month, I had to pay a whole month's rent for storage of a simple antique desk. I was entitled to 2 free months. The greed and unfriendliness makes me want to never recommend UHaul in Boone on hwy 105.

McDaniel Beard | Expérience généraleThe facility was great. The online billing was not so good. I could not pay my bill until the day it was due. Until then, it showed a Zero balance due. With the first month free, it was misleading that my bill on month 2 was zero dollars as well. I received a late notice and paid the $15 late fee. If I had been notified that it was due, even the day of, I would have paid on time. Please considering allowing people to prepay and not have to wait until the day off to pay. I am aware there is an automatic payment option, but my rental was so short I did not want to use this feature. Merci.
Michael Murphy | Expérience généraleOur confirmed reservation for a 20' truck was 'bumped' therefore we had no truck for moving. This was college move out/in weekend. The staff showed no concern at all and offered no solutions. We decided to rent a storage unit for 24 hours to be able to store and protect the large amount of home items we needed to move. The staff made no efforts to help or support us. Actually acting quite aloof about the whole issue. Not their problem, they didn't care. We rented a 10x10. As we were moving in to the unit, one staff member repeatedly was very aggressively driving past us, on a corner, and loudly telling us we had to move out of the way. It was unnecessary to be so aggressive. We were trying to stay out of the way with very little room to park our vehicles to unload/load. Other clients managed to get around us fine. I would never use this site again, nor Uhaul and I will be SURE to inform my friends/family of this nightmare situation. The biggest issue I have is the absolute lack of care or concern by the staff that Uhaul had caused this problem for us. We had our reservation and Uhaul didn't follow through with the vehicle.

It was frustrating doing frequent trips to the unit with our cars and seeing several trucks etc lined up in the facility. moving took a lot longer than it should have done , a van or tow would have meant we could have done it in one go.

William Schlick | Premières impressionsThe place seemed in disrepair (the gate to the facility was actually broken and remained open all the time) the monthly cost of a unit isn't prorated (we only used about half of the month at the time of our departure) and the unit we were originally set up with looked like it had a homeless person living in it (sleeping bag, microwave, yellow rice packet...) The only reason I'm not indicating "poor" for overall experience is because Olivia, the college student who seemed to be running the show both times I went into the office, was getting it done. She provided good customer service and seems like she's got a bright future ahead. But ultimately the facility's condition caused my wife and I to find storage elsewhere.

I moved out a week after paying my storage fee, but I'm sure uhaul has already moved someone into the space I just gave up. Getting in and out was often a pain. The back gate has been broken, so you had to use the front gate (which was never closed) only to find it was often blocked by trucks getting checked in/out.
