I highly recommend this U-Haul location. Rented from Alfonso at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Brighton Park, 3401 W 47th St, Chicago, IL 60632 on Saturday, April 6, 2024 to drive to Washington DC. Alfonso was so helpful on the phone to figure out how best to get there for a good price for my move. Then at pick up we met Arlene who had excellent customer service skills. I am going to recommend this particular location to any one of my friends that want to rent a van or truck. I have not had this great service at other U-Haul locations so it really stood out. Thank you to Alfonso and Arlene.

Stop lying to customers and be helpful to resolve problems for customers,when the problem was caused by uhaul .Was sent from one haul to another by the uhaul employee. just to be denied the equipment at other uhaul despite having reservation . Had to go to 3 uhauls for all equipment,horrible experience

Service at counter was great. I think manager was contributing to desk since was a line. First truck rented to me was 1/4 tank and I requested more fuel to save my time. Manager quickly and courtesously made change to another vehicle. Easy drop off, fast. Would recommend. Only issue: truck had slightly less fuel than contract stated, corrected via app.

Flatbed/cart ramps in the loading area but none to second floor storage units. Just stairs. So you need to carry up your boxes anyway. Kills the convenience a bit. Everything else is good

Perhaps consider putting garbage cans for SMALL throwable items but overall VERY GREAT storage spot!!

On the day my box was scheduled to arrive, I had to reach out to the text-only customer service line and was informed my box would be delivered the next day instead. This was after I had already confirmed the drop off and pick up via the phone calls. Overall, I was refunded some money and the overall customer service I received was great but the lack of communication about the delay was unprofessional.

The straps were damaged if my tires were alittle bigger i would not have been able to properly strap my vehicle. First time i rent a dolly and straps looked cut short

I was kind of annoyed that I needed a credit card (like, the kind that you go into debt with rather than the kind that's tied to an actual bank account) in order to rent certain vehicles. I don't use credit cards. I will never carry credit cards. Why isn't that spelled out when reserving a vehicle? I could've saved a bunch of time picking a vehicle I don't need to go into debt to rent.

Excellent experience as my storage place, even if it was only for a month. Plenty of equipment ready to use all times I had to go and store or take out stuff, the staff was always helpful, accommodating and polite. Special mention to Miguel who helped me the day I went searching for a room for my stuff and also during check out and always had a professional and friendly service.

Try to ensure that the rental vehicle has at least half or more gas in the tank. My scheduled trip had to be delayed because I needed to stop by to fill up the gas tank. Additionally, I noticed that the pictures that were uploaded by the previous renter didn't include accurate pictures of the drivers side. I had to dispute the picture on record and submit a new one showing the damage that was there before I drove off the parking lot.

The truck sounded like wheel bearing had failed, steering was very sloppy, seats were worn out. The check in was very poor and seemed like we were bothering attendant. Would go out of way to not use location again.

Uhaul has been charging me for storage rent for the past three months, even though i have not been storing anything. I have spent hours on the phone with customer service, and on hold, and have not been able to connect with anyone who can successfully remedy the issue.

The experience sucks we got a truck that was really was mass up that some parts on the the back drivers side in the back of the truck was missing & by us not putting insurance on the truck they wanna charge it to us like we did it when the truck was already like that before we pulled off in it I usually do get the insurance but I was on a budget I only had enough for to rent the truck I don’t like the service at all I’ll never rent there again

Delivery was a nightmare, I requested morning delivery and the night before they gave me a window of 12:45 - 2:45 pm. I asked if it could be changed to morning since I hired movers through their online recommendations that were coming at noon. They were rude and unwilling to help, I called the movers and rescheduled for 2:45 to be safe. 3:00 came and I called to check and they told me there was no way to check but she should be there momentarily. Called again at 3:30 and was told about 10 minutes and the person that time was more willing to look up and contact the driver to see situation. Movers waited until the container finally arrived and was unloaded and placed by 4:00 pm. The delivery person was apologetic and helpful compared to the Brighton Park customer service. The updates along the way were great to see and it arrived in FL ahead of time. The final delivery in FL was the opposite, everything was on time and scheduling was very friendly and the delivery of the container was a breeze. They were on time, the delivery women were very friendly and helpful with suggesting the best way to have it face for the easiest unloading. They let me tape them to send to my grandkids and were very excited to be doing what they're doing. It was the complete opposite of the UHaul in IL that was late, not friendly at all or helpful and even knowing I had condo restrictions to work with and and be out by 4:00 pm and had the movers waiting and waiting and wasn't concerned I might have to pay more for the delay. All in all everything arrived safely, only one dish with a chip which was caused more from the way the movers packed the container. We had quite a few boxes that had fallen down and were upside down by the door when it was opened. Suggestion - don't back everything any boxes higher upfront. Pack all boxes evenly all the way to the door (as I had suggested to the movers) and then put a few blankets at the door to avoid anything falling out when you open the doors. Overall it was still a cheaper means to move our stuff (mostly boxes) and only a few pieces of furniture from IL to FL. If the container had been fuller everything would have worked out perfectly.

My unit does not lock properly, so my items were left unsecure for the entire night. My son was told a manager would contact me at 7am when they arrived. I never received a phone call and my unit remains unsecured as I am afraid to place a lock on the unit because of the latch problem.

The manager himself is an excellent communicator, explains the contracts short and well his team of girls are super helpful all the time. Nothing but good things to talk about the girls, respectful, straight forward, friendly. The hallways are always being kept clean it smells nice when the cleaning lady is mopping and after. There's always alert workers on site so it feels safe and not abandonned.

Alfonso is a great manager, quick problem solver, explains well in detail what needs to be understood about contracts. I can tell he is a great manager by how the team/staff handles the customer with courtesy and caring in such a way. I have been renting a locker there for about 2-3 years up until now Alfonso and the girls are ALL super helpful. Thank you for your hospitality.

The place smells it is full cockroaches everywhere the manager is super rude. Does not train the employees properly because they make simple yet costly mistakes people live in that in those storage units. It was just a terrible experience overall.

La verdad estube muy agusto por un tiempo no tuve problema alguno... El problema fue con Alfonso García el manager cuándo descubri que un cliente tenía llave para poder abrír una de las puertas grandes yo pedí hablar con el manager quien es el ! Y le pregunte cómo esa persona tenía acceso a esa puerta solo el ? Cuanto tenía que pagar más o que debía de hacer ? Su respuesta fue que esa persona tenía un contrato exclusivo y es la única persona que tiene una llave para poder abrir esa puerta por la madrugada... Que yo no podía hacer nada para evitarlo hablara con quien hablará... Solo esa persona tenía acceso a esa llave y nadie más no me parece justo xq todos pagamos lo mismo para otra persona tenga ese beneficio por esa razón decidí dejar el storage ... DE VERDAD ESPERO LEAN ESTE COMENTARIO Y HAGAN ALGO AL RESPECTO NO ES JUSTO .

The staff were wonderful and helpful. The overall facility was always clean and maintained. The only issue I had was with the unit above mine constantly leaking some sort of detergent into my unit. The leak ended up growing mold.

Your facility damaged my items in a flood and I was told the facility is not responsible for any damages. It was your employee who caused the flood by not posting caution signs and I'm told they are not responsible for damages.

U-Haul was a poor experience. I called several times asking about access to storage unit times and was given wrong information. A security guard.close the black gate in front of this storage unit 5 or sometimes 10 minutes ealrier than the time storage unit access supposed to be closed. So, several times I was unable to access.my unit because of this issue. This past Saturday I moved all belongings out my storage unit and cleaned it out. When I enter the door it smelled like andeadnrodent or something. I informed one of your employee about the smell and about my unit being cleaned out and she told me leave door up, which I did. Yet, I still received a bill reminder and I had to call them and asked about my unit being check. Also I did not feel safe health wise because everyone was not wearing a mask. Why not try to inforce that issue at least post a ÷%÷:× sign up!!

My unit had roaches i bought roach traps to place on my door . It looks Like their coming from some one around my unit .. I think they should have all renters open their unit once a month to get sprayed for bugs. Also my unit had a mouse trap inside it I should've took that as a red flag .

I had been a customer for 4 years and things have improved so much. For example; the rotten problem has improved dramatucally, the storage area doesn't have a foul order or dead nice inside the vins. I rented two vins and because of change in management and staff, I decided to stay a customer for 4 years. However, the first two years as a renter were horrible but because I had an injury at work I couldnt lift anything heavy, that's why I stayed at that location for two more years. Then, I notice a great improvement and I've been very satisfy with the service overall.

I went there to rent a 10x30 on phone that was reserved a 10x30...instead I receive 2 10x15..unit wasnt long enough...and was held hostage there, not allowed to leave forced to rent a second truck when there were still 61/2 hours available on 1st truck, wasted 10 hours of time on use of minivan being stuck at facility unloading and reloading for 10 hours...being charged $500 a day to finishing packing a building whereas not getting any work there as was at 47th street location from around noon til 10pm. Reserved storage locker and will waiting for counter girl to prepare contract...she answered other call and made me stand there 25 minutes ...then finally finish rental...then took on tour of units left me standing in warehouse in my orthopedic book post amputation surgery to hobble around lost while they did something else. I am appalled at unprofessionalism, neglect and abuse by employees. Also reserved a truck at 2801 s. Pulaski and sat there for 3 hours trying to get different rental...which had a $50 Reservation guarantee be which I haven't received Your repeated lies and abuse are unreal. I am very upset to spend over $1000 in rentals and not get what I paid for.

The women at the front desk and phones were very friendly and helpful 100 % of the time. The woman who picked up and dropped off my storage pod also went above and beyond. Very pleased.

I have used this facility for years. From storage to trucks. I have always had great experience with all the staff and the facility. It is safe and secure and clean and would definitely go out of my way to go here the next time I need anything. I have used other facilities and this location is definitely standout from the rest.

Good customer service and got the truck for a full 24 hours in August at the same place when I moved in I was told they don't do the 24 hours anymore I ended up being charged like 160 180 for the rental because a csr didn't know what they where talking about or just dumb af. Anyways this time around the policy probably changed back I don't know. Thanks 47th homan Brighton park probably new management I don't know but you guys took care of me in a timely manner. Don't over work yourselves you guys are doing great
