Worst facility and their manager

The Uhaul app is the worst. I rent trucks monthly. I try to use the app every time. It has NEVER, EVER worked. I always waste five minutes trying to get the app to work and inevitably have to go inside and speak to someone. The desk staff are great and helpful, but if there was literally any other company I could rent a truck from, I would. Uhaul is the worst.

Hector is a great manager Always helpful, knowledge amd willing to assit however and when can Alot of his supporting staff unfortunately is young and their behavior and mentality is unwelcoming and many times I have experienced complications with them But the facility manager Hector has always been fair and professional

Goog Morning! I ask that you review the procedure for returning your vehicles! I returned the 15' Truck to you yesterday (14/03/2024) properly CLEANED!! Inside the trunk and inside the driver's cabin!! I was charged $25 for cleaning and I DO NOT AGREE with this charge! This was wrongly charged as I cleaned the entire car myself. They also charged me 1 extra mile and I can also confirm this as I have photos of the vehicle's odometer when I got into it and when I returned it. I ask that this be ratified as soon as possible. Before I forget, when I went to pick up the vehicle I rented, when I went to do a safety check before operating the vehicle, the engine oil level was below the correct level (at this time a very helpful gentleman told me helped and topped up the oil to the correct level), the vehicle needs to be aligned because when driving it wants to go to the right on its own (vehicle out of alignment) and is making a sound like a damaged bearing. Hector Alan and Zulfiya are an amazing trio. When i walked in the store it was full of customers and to watch them demonstrate calmness, and quick efficient service it was great. Zulfiya was very kind and payed close attention to detail. Linwood st. staff is amazing. Keep up the hard work.

The girl that works there is no help to anybody at all. She refused to help me told me she was busy. She had 15 different jobs to do. I was quite upset when I first arrived she saw me and totally ignored me. I went home and came back thinking it wasn't open, then when it was open I went in and I asked her why she did not even say good morning to me and asked me what if I needed anything she told me she was busy. I have been to the facility three times already in all three times, I've heard her refuse to help , everybody else there be more helpful to me I don't know if it's because she's young or what her problem is but it's a huge problem

I was disappointed to hear that a furniture dolly was not available at the time that I had arrived to pick up my rental. If one wouldn't have been available, I would have preferred to get a call or a notification that it wouldn't be so that I could make an alternative arrangement to have one. I was moving large and heavy furniture, so it would have been very helpful to have one on hand.

This was a great experience, somerville location staff were helpful, polite, friendly. Price for truck rental was great. Only suggestion would be to repair ignition on the truck I borrowed - it had a trick to it that made it hard to start.

Scheduling the UBox drop-off at final destination was a pain. The website wasn't working and the women over the phone that helped me schedule with MovingHelp charged my card 3x and claimed that the order couldn't be processed and now 7 days later I'm still waiting for my refund. I wish I could re-do this whole process with another company. I don't want to use UHaul ever again.

The person was wearing flip-flops, left hand in a bag of chips, trying to type on the computer with just his right hand while receiving calls on his personal cellphone, couldn't help us at all while we were having trouble with our reservation. A young girl came in and took over since she seemed to be the only competent person there, but still couldn't help us much as there's a system issue with uHaul that was preventing the "check-in" and I had to complete it on my phone. So after all of that, I realized there's no point in having someone at the location whose only job is to waste nearly an hour of their costumers' lives while we end up having to do the work ourselves.

I was a first-timer to using U-Haul and had a great experience from start to finish. The ease to book on the website. The friendly and helpful telephone support when I made changes. The notifications by email and text. The excellent loading and unloading crews. The staff on the day of pickup. The smooth return process through the app. All outstanding. Seriously appreciated.

Truck stunk , smelled like Marijuana in the cab. Windshield was filthy , some type of slime on the inside glass. Truck felt like the wheels were gonna fall off or the transmission was going to fail every second I was driving it. The only reason why i gave an average rating is because the employee that helped me was very professional , knowledgeable and efficient and the location of the uhaul location is very convenient

Need to improve staff training. A Uhaul associate connect the trailer, which fell off the trailer ball a short distance down the road. Fortunately they did a decent job with the safety chains, but I was not too excited to have to reconnect the trailer on the side of I-93.

When I got in the truck (clean) there was a message for low tire pressure, and I could not see the mileage. 1 hour later a message for low oil.....not a good start. I took care of the air and called in about the oil. Overall, this location is excellent and the people are helpful. It seems there could be additional preparation of trucks before they go out.

Hector and Andreina went above and beyond in helping us with the trailer we rented from the Somerville U-Haul on Linwood St. Because of them both we felt confident we would get to California safely. They answered all our questions and made helpful suggestions to make sure we would have a successful trip. I highly recommend them and the Somerville U-Haul.

They didn't put the dolly, which I ordered and paid for, in the truck. When I got to my first location and discovered it was missing (35 minute drive) the movers were there and I didn't have time to drive there and back to fetch it. When I called Uhaul to request they bring me one, they refused. Not putting a dolly inside a moving van is a REALLY big deal. The staff could care less. The kid behind the counter smelled like pot and the place overall is dumpy, but that is reflective of Boston in general…a dumpy city.

Once I stopped trying to use the app to pick up my rental van and went inside, the experience suddenly changed from terrible to really great. The folks in the store got me on the road in my rental in about 90 seconds. Great crew there.

The only reason it is not excellent is I had reserved a larger unit months in advance..when it came time to check in there were no large units left. Staff member did give two smaller units but still feel reserving a unit should secure one.

Experience was great but I wish the team had been more proactive. It took me 2 unreturned calls to their manager hector, 1 additional call to anyone on staff, and 2 visits to finally get setup with a storage unit. Consider making this process a bit more seamless for the customer. If there was a better local option, I would have not purchased from Uhaul.

The general manager was completely unresponsive to my emails and phone calls about setting up alternative payment arrangements (by check instead of credit card). Instead, i was referred out to a collections consultant who didn't have a U-Haul email address and then abruptly left the job leaving me without anyone to work with. Totally unacceptable.

After finally locating the office for service, I located a staff member who seemed bored throughout the process. He achieved the task of helping me find an available space--which is hard enough with UHaul--but refused to do provide any service beyond what seemed like a rotely memorized routine. When he asked, "Anything else?" I responded, "Could you please help me move this item into my unit?" He then said, "We don't do that here. We don't move things in." And left it at that. I then struggled for the next few minutes to lift my hefty suitcase into an upper-level compartment with only a spindly step ladder on wheels to assist me. It was dangerous. I could have fallen backward. My final struggle was with the lock, but I was able to find a second staff member at that time who was much friendlier and professional. It may not have been in his job description, but he took time to step away from his desk and resolve the lock issue for me. Otherwise, the whole experience felt cold and impersonal.

the staff was great and friendly. but the organization and customer service overall was horrible. there were 30 people in line when i got there, and it took nearly an hour to get through, even though i had booked everything before hand. for long stretches, no one was even in the room helping customers. they were out taking care of something. i truthfully have never seen a more poorly organized customer service experience. The only thing that made up for it was the staff friendliness. i feel like you are vastly under staffed.

Our overall experience was good, but Edgar went above and beyond and made our move-in SO easy and pleasant on an otherwise stressful day. He was helpful, informative, and seemed genuinely invested in making things run as smoothly as possible. Side note, he was unexpectedly alone at the beginning of the shift on Sunday with a line of people outside, and he handled it with grace and calm. He's an absolute gem, and whatever you're paying him isn't enough. ;) Thank you, Edgar! We'll be recommending this U-Haul to anyone we can, and it's almost entirely because of your excellent customer service.

Our unit was highly trafficked by mice. We had some belongings destroyed by mice and were reimbursed by Uhaul. The rest of our stuff survived unscathed but there was poop all over-needed a lot of surface cleaning. The staff was exceedingly helpful, friendly and easy to work with.

Hi! my name is Justino. I went in to Somerville Uhaul office yesterday after reservation online. I made the reservation to move in on Sunday 9/27/20. When I got there, I saw a girl at the office, instead of helping she asked her coworker Edgar Lopez who just walked in from outside to take over and help me because she wanted to use the restroom, Edgar was in the middle of doing something outside but came over and started helping when she popped out of the so called bathroom she claimed she went. Edgar almost finished with the contract and was telling me the amount to pay to move in when I was explaining to him that I was supposed to have one month free according to my reservation and I have a proof of it. That was when the girl jumped in saying "no that's not true because I was here last time when you came in and my boss told you you need to rent a truck one way before getting one month free. I told her that's right but this is the proof that I'm qualified for one month free according to my reservation. she didn't want to hear it. Then I pulled my phone out and trying to provide the picture evidence I have, she said:"even if you have a picture to prove it we're not going to do it". However Mr Lopez Edgar took his time and listened to me and saw the evidence I showed him then advised me to come back the next day and see his manager because he's the only person who can approve the one month free rent. I got out of the office and decided to contact the manager because I'm used to that office and I know the former manager George and the current one manny. I sent a text message to Manny and told him the story of the girl been too harsh. Manny took his time to document everything and then recommended me to JUAN BAUTISTA and asked me to go back there and see him for the contract. I went back to the office and Juan took care of the issue and resolved it and assigned me the unit that I reserved which happened to be at the upper level. I told him it's too high for me to load heavy things up there and he reassured me that if anything becomes available at the lower lever I can switch to that lower level unit. I was so happy with the excellent customer service provided by Manny the manager, Juan B. and Edgar Lopez. All a customer needs sometimes is attention and be listened to and be advised when the service he or she is requesting cannot be provided. That's what Edgar Lopez did. And Manny as a team leader proved his leadership by asking a talented team member JUAN BAUTISTA to care of the issue which he resolved with an excellent level of service which brights my day.

While the staff was helpful, the design of the storage units are horrendous. Why are there overhead storage units? This defeats the convenience in paying for storage units. Nowhere on the online booking tool was o warned there were overhead units at lower cost and floor units were $40 more! Arriving at the facility with my fully loaded for check in, My hand was forced to go with the slightly bigger, floor unit. This is the type of thing that infuriates customers and further drives them away. Bad business practice.

The storage assigned was located three meters above the grounds. I had to use a ladder to put my things in there. It is shameless that storage line that can be sold. The worst experience. Moving is already stressful and to come and find out that your storage is on the ceiling of a poorly managed facility makes it a nightmare. Horrible experience with u-haul storage. I had to rent another storage. I WOULD NEVER USE IT AGAIN AND I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Great service. The only problem was that the 24-hour access card did not work. Unfortunately, the Somerville site closed before I finished unloading, and I did not receive my replacement key card. But, I'll be going back today during business hours, and the helpful staff will be able to replace it for me. Thanks, U-Haul!
