I originally rented a truck for 12/03 at 0900 in El Mirage AZ . I was instructed to pick up vehicle at Avondale, AZ location. I arrived at Avondale location at 1035 and was told my reservation was given away and instructed to pick up vehicle in Tempe, AZ, which added an additional 42 miles to my mileage on vehicle. Staff at pickup location were professional, helpful, and acknowledged the flaws in Uhaul's habit of double booking vehicles, inconveniencing customers, and leaving staff to clean up the mess. Upon returning vehicle in Prescott Valley, I was charged for additional mileage, and instructed to contact Uhaul to request compensation for mileage, credit for additional 1/4 tank of fuel which I returned with truck, and compensation for 2 unopened bags of moving blankets which were not used. I have rented uhaul vehicles multiple times through the years and this is my first encounter which turned into a complete disappointment. To top it off, the driver side corner of â€œmom's atticâ€ leaked during moderate rain.Ryan B.

There was one issue was filling up the gas tank. When we filled up the tank and turned the car on the gauge did not register how much gas bit put in. We actually had to drive the vehicle to see the gas level. And, it ended up being more than we needed to pay.Debra L.

I was disappointed with this U-Haul truck rental because the truck was practically empty with gas. I drove less than 2 minutes and the gas light came on. Whatâ€˜s worse is that U-Haul asks that I return the truck with the same amount of fuel left, essentially <10 %. Why was I given a truck with such little fuel? So that I could turn around and screw the next person in line. Or, so that I had no choice but to refill it with more gas for the next person to use. This system is broke and customers are the ones suffering.Brian B.
I may be old fashioned, but I believe you should acknowledge the customer when they come in and are waiting in line to pick up their truck, even if only to say, "Welcome in. It will be a minute until we can help you. Thank you for your patience." I waited in line for 10 minutes and none of the 3 employees behind the counter acknowledged me until they actually handled my reservation. The man who handled the return of my truck was very friendly and personable.Katie Z.

This was my 3rd. time renting a U-Haul truck for my move. I absolutely love this location. The gentleman inside was very professional and courteous and polite. I recommend going to the s.priest location. Thanks very much for your good service this time, truck was nice and clean.Tonette N.

When I booked this online I declined the Safemove coverage, however it somehow ended up on my final bill. I think the employee checking me out changed it. I will warn people about this tactic.William P.

Made reservation well in advance of move for a one-way trip for the Priest (Tempe, AZ) to North Eastern AZ (175 miles from Phoenix) which I received a confirmation. I had two drivers scheduled to help with the move in North Phoenix & I live in near Tempe (south Phoenix). I went to the pick up location several days in advance to make sure everything was on track, which was confirmed. I received a call on 11/9, stating my one-way was not possible from the Priest Location and would have to drive to East of the City to Apache Junction to pick up a one way truck or keep Priest location with a return trip required. While the truck was discounted, it was a logistical nightmare for the drivers. Received another call the day off the drop off has been changed to the Apache Junction location instead of the Priest (Tempe, AZ). The operator was able to change back to the Priest location. Such chaos. Left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. Bottom line: Renters should be able to trust a reservation, period. The truck itself had damage the left side front bumper.Cindy R.

The fuel gauge readings as printed on the contract before we even walked out to the vehicle were inaccurate. The fuel gauge reading was listed as full when in reality it was at 3/4 full. I was in a rush so I didn't notice it until a mile down the road. I didn't bring it to their attention because of the time schedule I was on which is no fault of theirsRobert S.
We returned the truck the same day less than 1,5 hours from when we picked it up. I received a call several hours later asking when we would be returning the truck we rented and we were well past the time it was to be returned. There were also issues with the fuel level. We used the vehicle from pickup to drop off a grand total of 8 miles. So we put in a little over a gallon of fuel. The paper was marked that there was 3/8th of a tank on pickup, which was wrong. We did not notice it at first (I am a day sleeper and it was past my bedtime by several hours at that point). We brought this up on drop off as the mileage showed we only used the vehicle for 8 miles. The staff member checking the truck in asked if we had taken a picture. I said we had not, however, we could absolutely calculate out the gas mileage of the vehicle to determine usage. I felt they had over estimated what was in the tank which is a shady business practice. If I ever need to rent again, I will look at other businesses first before we go back to uhaul. I have never been so disgusted with uhaul's service. The kicker here is that I spoke to the supervisor/manager in passing when we returned the truck. So why we a call was made rather than checking the lot first is beyond me. I did send my son up to make sure they did check and it was employee error, not ours. Did not appreciate the implied accusation without verification the vehicle had not been dropped off first.G Adelle H.

The checkin process for the trailer on 10/28 went very smoothly and quick. With the truck on 10/29 it was dreadfully slow. No one in office but customers when I arrived. Then when rep did return he was very slow with computer for customer in front of me. it all took way too longbob C.

Wow, this was my 2nd visit here and a major disappointment, first the vehicle was dusty and unwashed, even a large orange stain in the cargo area, then when I returned the vehicle I left my hand cap emblem in the van by mistake when I went back the next day no one could find it, so it was either tossed out or more likely a staff member kept it. and then a day after that I got a threatening call that I needed to return the vehicle or I would be taken to jail for steeling their van, the same van I returned to them two days ago before the call. A very rude and untrustworthy place. I will not be returning!Todd S.
Saturday AM, began renting a car transport and between employee being VERY SLOW and repeat phone calls I was waiting over an hour before we ever began to hitch up. 2 employees in office chatting it up while 3 customers behind me waited. TERRIBLE customer service. Return on Sunday there was 1 female inside and 1 male outside. Both seem to have a hustle in them not seen on Saturday. The guy was fast, efficient, and friendly.DUANE D.

I reserved the 9' cargo van but it was not avaiable! There was one on the lot but apparently it was stolen property and not available? Everyone was very nice but the office smelled like weed. I don't mind it myself but some people might. I DID NOT USE ROAD ASSISTANCE! Not sure why this survey is forcing me to rate a ton of towing services that I didn't use! my brother and I went to the office on the morning of Oct 18 at 10:15 and we were told we were late and could be charged 75 for not getting there at 9:00, we have never been told that we had to be there exactly at the time we told them that we would pick up the van. Then the two guys that were there said they could not find my reservation, they finally found it and proceeded to let us have the van. The two guys were very rude to both me and my brother, we have been renting vans from this location two times a year for at least four years. We have never been treated so bad by your employees.LORETTA O.

Please have a look at the tire on the front driver's side. I do believe it's rubbing on the wheel well when making left turns. Just a slight left deviation on the freeway would make the tire rub and produce a noise.Clayden T.
The information I was given was very inconsistent. The service was and has always been bad. Either you wait 30 mins or an hr, no matter if there's staff. I only go there because they have the trucks and equipment needed. But I always reserve an hour for wait time in my day. Even with appointment. This most recent experience will probably be my last. This job was to move across country. Biggest move of my life. The staff made an error and didn't actually schedule the truck so it was not available at. The scheduled time even though I had email confirmations. I had to travel south to Maricopa to pick up, which threw off extremely time sensitive plans. Thankfully, they admitted fault and attempted to correct with a discount, but it didn't end there. They mounted the trailer wrong. It was so wobbly and unsafe on the highway, we only made it to Mesa before we had to stop at a uhaul for emergency service. The staff at mesa were so kind and helpful even though they didn't have the equipment to lift the hitch off due to a fully loaded trailer. I had to bring a car Jack to lift it with their help. They recommended me file a complaint with who ever installed the trailer. That would be Maricopa. I've tried contacting customer service via email, but the link appears broken. Overall a very bad experience. And still had to pay near 1 000 for this all together. So no, I don't recommend. Sorry, but somethings got to change folks.Tory M.

Well I was told to receive guarantee reservation for $50 and I received an email from reservation mgr Rebecca but nothing has been made after 5 days(9/23). And due to my delay with job, the costs of my expenses were more when I could have been resolved the truck asap. I have been with U-Haul since 2015 and this is not the way to treat customers.Jane S.

Fraudulent!! They charged me 2k for a rental. Charged another customer 8k at the location. They did not give any instructions just the keys. I returned within one hour and drove 15 miles. They charged me 2k saying i drove 3k miles in 1 hour. The paper works was also incorrect. I was sent personal information from another customer as well.Zovek F.
