Turns out that I reserved the wrong date. So while I was in the uhaul parking lot, because they weren't open yet. I called the uhaul number and waited 10 minutes before talking to a representative. She was very polite and was trying to help, when we got disconnected. Called back, waited another 10 minutes and the same story. Very helpful girl and then disconnected again. Left and was going to research myself on my phone. Nothing, so we drove back and the office had opened 30 mins early. Representative was helpful, got a new reservation and pick up time. Unfortunately had to rearrange our helpers, but job got done.

I was originally supposed to get a 15’ truck from the Kansas location and was told the day before my pick up to drive from Modesto to Angles Camp to pick up one. Mind you I have 9AM pick and they wanted me to go @ 2PM the day before. Tried to call the 1800 number and got transferred 4 times because the first 3 didn’t want to help. I was stuck with a 10’ truck that made moving very inconvenient. That was very bad customer service and I wouldn’t want to use a truck here again.

It was extremely difficult trying to get a hold of someone at the location we originated from. We kept getting pushed from one rep to another - sometimes not even at that location. Placed on hold for almost an hour to get a manager then was hung up on. The box was over 24 hours late causing more expense for us to re-hire help to unload the box. Then the help we hired through UHAUL cancelled on us the last minute to LOAD the box. I had to find a local mover on short notice which cost over $600.!! I would like a REFUND. Call center lacks training and every time I reserve like this they get it wrong and do not know the times of the facilities. Very dissatisfied with their lack of knowledge. I called area manager to complain and left message with secretary and never got a return call. NOT GOOD!

Service was excellent, start to finish. My only complaint was the condition of the U-Box. The back and right side walls had pulled away from the wood base by two inches. A heavy object on a previous rental must have been loaded and transported unsecured in the box. The heavy object must have banged around inside the box knocking the wood screws out of the base and staples out of the back corner wall. I secured the 1/2" plywood walls &wood framing with 6" lag screws at the base and 3" wood screws where the two walls came together in the corner. Fully loaded with my items, this box could have come apart during transport if I had not secured the walls & base. Fortunately, this did not happen and my items arrived safely. It's a good idea to check the condition of your box before loading it up.

When I went back the day after I had rented a 15 foot truck I needed to rent a regular pickup truck. Using the same method of payments to secure the truck they refused to take my identification and form of payments leaving me stranded. The only difference in this equation was the person who waited on me who was I believe the manager and I felt that she was just showing off. You took my money the day before the same payment wasn't good enough the second day very very very disappointed thank you Pamela story. 209-526-5747

Your employees exemplify unprofessionalism, bad ethics and inconsideration for customer service and possible fraud. Their behavior was very inappropriate, abrasive, inexcusable, not to mention an example of what your brand represents. I would hope your company goal does not support the same beliefs and practices that your employees represents, not to mention on of them are supposed to be a manager even though he told me in the conversation before to call back on Tuesday in order to speak with a manager. When I picked up the vehicle on May 25, 2019, I had to wait while one of your employees socialized with some people in the parking lot because they had a bunch of dogs while the other employee was arguing with a customer. Another customer and I were waiting to be serviced had to wait because of the bad customer service. The other customer was told by the employee enjoying the dogs he completed her inspection and her receipt would be inside. All untrue, he had done nothing but conversate and enjoy the dogs running around the parking lot off leash. Then U-Haul attempted to charge me .79 for more than 100 miles claiming I had rented the vehicle for two days so they could not honor the fee of .29 that I was given when I placed the order. On May 26, 2019, I went to return the vehicle early so I called them while I was 5 minutes away letting them know I was returning the vehicle. The employee told me they were close, and I would have to bring the vehicle back the next day morning which was a holiday knowing they would be closed. I indicated it did not matter if you were closed because I would return it with my phone. He then tells me the key is too big to return it in their drop box so I would have to bring the vehicle back tomorrow. I indicated I live more than 30 miles away and I’m 5 minutes away from there company. He told me I could talk to a manager on Tuesday. I called the customer service number to complained about wat was going on and it was unacceptable that I could not return their vehicle. Customer service stated they were going to connect me to a manager, which happened to be the employee I spoke to before I called customer service. I informed him I was going to leave the vehicle on his U-Haul lot rather he liked it or not and deal with them when they opened back up on Tuesday. I ensured him I would be contact the headquarters of U-Haul to make a complaint. The employee then says I could drop the vehicle off. When I get to the business it was open the entire time. What an unnecessary issue to give a customer that no longer wishes to use your services anymore. I have made up my mind to go purchase a truck, so I no longer require your rental service. Thank you for saving me money long term. So the question was what can you do to improve for the next customer. 1. Listen to the recorded conversation to identify true issues. 2. Hold employees accountable 3. Don't allow employees to misrepresent themselves 4. Treat customers

The only thing I can think of is to have some way of allowing rentals to be returned while you are closed. A way to pick up after hours would be helpful too. I don't have a place to park vehicles and trailers in my mobile home park, and I'm others have the same problem. A Game Camera would record the time it was done and cost is low.

Although the truck was clean it was below the E (empty) line. I did NOT use any of the requested items. So the zip ties they are attached to items was not broke showing I never used them but I was still charged for them. The lock boxes for the key pick up we’re not working either so we had to wait for an employee to arrive to work to assist myself to get the key.

Employee asked me to hook the trailer myself because she was pregnant. I am not sure if she was pregnant or she was saving her long nails. I did ask her why should I do it her response was that she is pregnant. Well I have a back issue and I had to lift and hook it up myself. If I could I would rate you with no starts.

Inspect the equipment better prior to departure. I got 10 miles away from my starting point & the right rear tire on my tow dolly disintegrated. A technician was dispatched and he change the blown tire. He inspected the 2nd tire on right side, found it severely worn & changed it as well. After that I had smooth sailing until 100 miles away from my 2,450 mile trip. The transmission in the truck completely failed leaving me stranded on the side of the interstate for over 5 hours. It was then towed to my new location at a little after midnight. I expect to be compensated for these inconveniences.

Modesto Kansas location- Needs better staff. People who work there at a time of pick up and drop off were not helpful and some what rude. I have rented from U-Haul in Sacramento earlier last week and the service was superb!!!! Modesto Kansas location needs to retrain their employees to provide quality customer service. The two Ladies that were working this morning provided excellent customer service, everything was very organized and the trailer was ready to go.

Location was short-staffed, and it took over an hour to check in and hook up trailer. Trailer was not very clean. Had to sweep floor before loading. One tire on the trailer had a slow leak. Had to air up at every gas stop. Tire finally had a blowout on 4th day of travel across country. However, roadside assistance was very responsive and got me back on the road quickly.

Great customer service. I rented the 26' moving truck called 2 days before asked if I could have it A-day early and they made it happen it was a life saver. I had to move 2 houses into 1. Short move but I filled the truck twice. It was surprisingly very economical. I was going to order a POD which wouldn't have fit as much as one truck load. It was less than 1 third of a POD would have cost!!!

The MOST LAZIEST, INCOMPETENT, AND UNPROFESSIONAL WORKERS I HAVE EVER MET. I have personally seen them turn customers away in order to try and leave early. This time, Uhaul OVER CHARGED ME AND LIED ABOUT PREVIOUS DAMAGE TO THE VAN in order to get Paid twice. That location is DAMAGING YOUR "UHAUL NAME!!" UHAUL NEEDS TO GET RID OF THAT LOCATION AS THEY LIE ABOUT BEING 24HR DROP OFF AND 24HR PICKUP! ! They Always have vehicles because EVERYONE is starting to rent less from them because they are Not worth the headache and pathetic games. They rented me a van that was Damaged and the interior lights DID NOT WORK and the VAN was DIRTY..I HAVE PICTURES..AND IF THEY DO NOT REFUND MY MONEY I'M GOING TO SUE THEM AND YOU UHAUL! AS LONG AS THEY WEAR THE UHAUL BRAND, YOU ARE LIABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS! AS YOU ARE AWARE AND ARE DOING NOTHING TO FIX OR MAKE BETTER!!

Called customer support no help was given when trying to return equipment. Had to install the app and figure it out on my own because rep was no help. Her only advice was to keep the equipment over night and bring it back the following morning. This is unacceptable for a returning customer. Makes me not want to rent equipment with U-Haul any longer. Very poor experience overall. Did not find friendly staff I encountered pervious times at the location. Hope these issues can fixed for other customers.

My only complaint is about the after hours drop off check-in process on the app. Once I got to the portion where it asked to GPS my location, the app would not go any further. I checked my settings to ensure my location services were turned on, but it wouldn't register it. I was unable to check in on the app and had to just drop off the key and truck and hope I didn't get charged a fee or something for not being able to check in. It was kind of stressful. I called in the morning to make sure they knew the app wouldn't work and they said that was fine and had already checked it in. But I don't think it should be mandatory to have to use the app for after hours check in. What if a customer does'nt have a smartphone? Or on my case, the app does'nt work right?

I don't normally take part in these surveys, unless I'm really disappointed, usually cuz nothing happens anyway.!! Someone may read it, but that's the extent of it but, here's my take, hire people with a better attitude, really poor people skills. Female that works there i would have fired on the spot. I worked for a rental company, and never would i allow the equipment to look like it did, nor have the personnel such as the Kansas crew in modesto, rude and didn't give a shit. the equipment matched the attitudes of the people... SHITTY, will never go back to that location or maybe even the company. Always a bad experience with u haul. Wanna improve for the next customer? Send them somewhere else
