Turns out that I reserved the wrong date. So while I was in the uhaul parking lot, because they weren't open yet. I called the uhaul number and waited 10 minutes before talking to a representative. She was very polite and was trying to help, when we got disconnected. Called back, waited another 10 minutes and the same story. Very helpful girl and then disconnected again. Left and was going to research myself on my phone. Nothing, so we drove back and the office had opened 30 mins early. Representative was helpful, got a new reservation and pick up time. Unfortunately had to rearrange our helpers, but job got done.

I was originally supposed to get a 15’ truck from the Kansas location and was told the day before my pick up to drive from Modesto to Angles Camp to pick up one. Mind you I have 9AM pick and they wanted me to go @ 2PM the day before. Tried to call the 1800 number and got transferred 4 times because the first 3 didn’t want to help. I was stuck with a 10’ truck that made moving very inconvenient. That was very bad customer service and I wouldn’t want to use a truck here again.

Call center lacks training and every time I reserve like this they get it wrong and do not know the times of the facilities. Very dissatisfied with their lack of knowledge. I called area manager to complain and left message with secretary and never got a return call. NOT GOOD!

When I went back the day after I had rented a 15 foot truck I needed to rent a regular pickup truck. Using the same method of payments to secure the truck they refused to take my identification and form of payments leaving me stranded. The only difference in this equation was the person who waited on me who was I believe the manager and I felt that she was just showing off. Your employees exemplify unprofessionalism, bad ethics and inconsideration for customer service and possible fraud. Their behavior was very inappropriate, abrasive, inexcusable, not to mention an example of what your brand represents. I would hope your company goal does not support the same beliefs and practices that your employees represents, not to mention on of them are supposed to be a manager even though he told me in the conversation before to call back on Tuesday in order to speak with a manager. When I picked up the vehicle on May 25, 2019, I had to wait while one of your employees socialized with some people in the parking lot because they had a bunch of dogs while the other employee was arguing with a customer. Another customer and I were waiting to be serviced had to wait because of the bad customer service. The other customer was told by the employee enjoying the dogs he completed her inspection and her receipt would be inside. All untrue, he had done nothing but conversate and enjoy the dogs running around the parking lot off leash. Then U-Haul attempted to charge me .79 for more than 100 miles claiming I had rented the vehicle for two days so they could not honor the fee of .29 that I was given when I placed the order. On May 26, 2019, I went to return the vehicle early so I called them while I was 5 minutes away letting them know I was returning the vehicle. The employee told me they were close, and I would have to bring the vehicle back the next day morning which was a holiday knowing they would be closed. I indicated it did not matter if you were closed because I would return it with my phone. He then tells me the key is too big to return it in their drop box so I would have to bring the vehicle back tomorrow. I indicated I live more than 30 miles away and I’m 5 minutes away from there company. He told me I could talk to a manager on Tuesday. I called the customer service number to complained about wat was going on and it was unacceptable that I could not return their vehicle. Customer service stated they were going to connect me to a manager, which happened to be the employee I spoke to before I called customer service. I informed him I was going to leave the vehicle on his U-Haul lot rather he liked it or not and deal with them when they opened back up on Tuesday. I ensured him I would be contact the headquarters of U-Haul to make a complaint. The employee then says I could drop the vehicle off. When I get to the business it was open the entire time. What an unnecessary issue to give a customer that no longer wishes to use your services anymore. I have made up my mind to go purchase a truck, so I no longer require your rental service. Thank you for saving me money long term. So the question was what can you do to improve for the next customer. 1. Listen to the recorded conversation to identify true issues. 2. Hold employees accountable 3. Don't allow employees to misrepresent themselves 4. Treat customers

The only thing I can think of is to have some way of allowing rentals to be returned while you are closed. A way to pick up after hours would be helpful too. I don't have a place to park vehicles and trailers in my mobile home park, and I'm others have the same problem. A Game Camera would record the time it was done and cost is low.

Although the truck was clean it was below the E (empty) line. I did NOT use any of the requested items. So the zip ties they are attached to items was not broke showing I never used them but I was still charged for them. The lock boxes for the key pick up we’re not working either so we had to wait for an employee to arrive to work to assist myself to get the key.

Employee asked me to hook the trailer myself because she was pregnant. I am not sure if she was pregnant or she was saving her long nails. I did ask her why should I do it her response was that she is pregnant. Well I have a back issue and I had to lift and hook it up myself. If I could I would rate you with no starts.

Inspect the equipment better prior to departure. I got 10 miles away from my starting point & the right rear tire on my tow dolly disintegrated. A technician was dispatched and he change the blown tire. He inspected the 2nd tire on right side, found it severely worn & changed it as well. After that I had smooth sailing until 100 miles away from my 2,450 mile trip. The transmission in the truck completely failed leaving me stranded on the side of the interstate for over 5 hours. It was then towed to my new location at a little after midnight. I expect to be compensated for these inconveniences.

Modesto Kansas location- Needs better staff. People who work there at a time of pick up and drop off were not helpful and some what rude. I have rented from U-Haul in Sacramento earlier last week and the service was superb!!!! Modesto Kansas location needs to retrain their employees to provide quality customer service. I left disappointed. Thank you.
