Called customer support no help was given when trying to return equipment. Had to install the app and figure it out on my own because rep was no help. Her only advice was to keep the equipment over night and bring it back the following morning. This is unacceptable for a returning customer. Makes me not want to rent equipment with U-Haul any longer. Very poor experience overall. Did not find friendly staff I encountered pervious times at the location. Hope these issues can fixed for other customers.

I tried to call today 3/11 to see if I left my credit card over the weekend and never received a return call. I tried to call the location a few times and was never able to speak with anyone at the site.

My only complaint is about the after hours drop off check-in process on the app. Once I got to the portion where it asked to GPS my location, the app would not go any further. I checked my settings to ensure my location services were turned on, but it wouldn't register it. I was unable to check in on the app and had to just drop off the key and truck and hope I didn't get charged a fee or something for not being able to check in. It was kind of stressful. I called in the morning to make sure they knew the app wouldn't work and they said that was fine and had already checked it in. But I don't think it should be mandatory to have to use the app for after hours check in. What if a customer does'nt have a smartphone? Or on my case, the app does'nt work right?

I don't normally take part in these surveys, unless I'm really disappointed, usually cuz nothing happens anyway.!! Someone may read it, but that's the extent of it but, here's my take, hire people with a better attitude, really poor people skills. Female that works there i would have fired on the spot. I worked for a rental company, and never would i allow the equipment to look like it did, nor have the personnel such as the Kansas crew in modesto, rude and didn't give a shit. the equipment matched the attitudes of the people... SHITTY, will never go back to that location or maybe even the company. Always a bad experience with u haul. Wanna improve for the next customer? Send them somewhere else

When we came to this location we were lied to by the employee. We rented a box truck to haul a car trailer because our car broke down on the freeway. We never inspected the box trailer because we didn't need it besides driving it to haul car trailer and we don't rent from u haul normally. When we arrived the Bakersfield location had left a pad lock on the box truck. Modesto location kept accusing it was ours. Bakersfield admitted it was theirs and that they usually leave it on when people rent the box truck for hauling car trailers and forgot to remove it and that they gave Modesto permission to cut it off. Modesto u-haul still wanted to say it was our lock and even if it wasn't we should of inspected the truck. It was a very upsetting ordeal. I would never do business with Kansas road modesto u haul again!

We ordered this new Truck Share thing. Upon arrival, it said a truck had not been assigned. They had all weekend to do this. I feel that if you are going to offer this quick check out service, that it should be ready to go when a customer arrives at 7 am sharp. The clerk was fast and friendly. I see that gas theft is still a problem at this location. I was given the truck on the very end where access to the gas was unlike the other 2 trucks that were parked close to each other, and it was empty. Sad that they still haven't found a way to prevent this even with those cameras and alarms. Glad to see Fabian still works there.

The Modesto location is the same as I have experienced there in the past. The folks that own it aren’t very friendly. You can tell it’s probably kids that would rather be playing video games or something else... they instead help with the family business. Unfortunately... the family would probably be better off hiring actual employees. You can fire employees when they can’t provide customer service. Functional just not friendly.

The first u-haul location rented me a trailer and there was a blinker problem. The system was down and couldn't refund yet. The kind gentleman reserved one at this location on Kansas. I could not believe the horrible customer service, Serina was very rude and unhappy the whole experience. I asked if I could pay cash since the other u-haul transaction had not been refunded and she said no it's not policy. So I go to pay, she tells me the total and its double the cost because deposits. Unfortunately I was recommended U-haul and was very disappointed. Serina seemed very inconvenienced to help me, possibly even a slight smile could of made the experience pleasant.

Went in to rent trailer I told them I would be pressed for time was traveling far Sunday . I arrived approximately 4:25 the sales assistant told me trailer needed to be back before 4:00 I looked at time it was 4:38 I asked isn’t it 4:30 since I rented at that time he said no we round back up to 4. Then went to hook up trailer they left light wiring harness on ground and said have a nice day, I then assured wires would not drag myself since employee wasn’t concerned with them.

Hello, There are consistent difficulties regarding my reservations. One of the truck's padlocks wouldn't open. I reserved a 26' foot truck and then when I went to pick it up I was told that that particular location doesn't stock 26' foot trucks. Thank you for your concern regarding these matter.

I was 40 mins late on my return and they charged me another full day. I’ll be using your competitors rental service from now on. I couldn’t believe it, 40 mins cost me an extra 70 dollars. The person at the counter even had a smirk on their face like they enjoyed charging me. What a joke.

Returned U-Hail trailer from San Jose to Modesto near closing hour at 5:00pm, Had to drop U-Haul load off first at storage center, it was cold and raining, we were wet, cold and exhausted from the day. I understand the 2 service desk workers were ready to go home. Would be nice if U-Haul would compensate there workers with a reward for over and above service for there kindness. Not a warm welcome.
