TAMMY PThe reason I say this is because the store manager (female) was rude.. unprofessional... bad attitude. She was trying to over charge me on a rental. Until I contacted another uhaul and was told that she ran my bank card as debit just to charge me $160 on my rental and charge me $60 for a dolly that was broke. She took the dolly off and still tried to charge me $100 when my reservation stated that it would cost me $57.52. Far cry from $160.00. But I will praise the uhaul on Airport thruway. The store manager there was in point.. truthful and honest...I believe her name is Lisa top notch service. Again my contact date was Saturday September 21 at 10th Ave wouldn't go if the store manager is there. But the second crew top notch. Manager not so much...
NICHOLE BThe staff was nice and helpful. I had a problem with the website while reserving my trailer. The drop down menu asked what type of vehicle I had, I placed in a Jeep Rubicon. When I arrived at the store to pick up my trailer, the assistant at Uhaul said she could not let me pick up my trailer unless I had a hard top on it. Two hours later I was able to come back after putting my hard top back on the Jeep. If this is the policy of Uhaul, it needs to be reflected on the website as well so I know, before showing up to the Uhaul center, what the requirements are.

MIA CI used a debit card to hold my rental. And, the agent was told it was to only hold the rental. When I returned the rental, the counter person ran my card without asking me if I wanted to use that card. That was unacceptable. If I am charged any insufficient fund fees, uHaul will be liable. Other than that, it was a good experience.

MAURICE WNot nearly as friendly as store in Auburn on Opelika Road, where we had a reservation. We were relocated to Columbus the day before, so we had to get up an hour earlier because of time change AND pay about $40 extra for the additional mileage. Very disappointed!!

ADEDAYO OI was told that I couldn't use Varo bank card nor Cash app. I had to use my credit card. The location I normally use doesn't have that rule. If I didn't really need the Van… I wouldn't have used this location.

Rodney VI was incredibly disappointed with my experience using U-Haul. I will never use U-Haul again moving forward. My original pick-up location was over an hour away from the location they moved me to and not a single employee tried to help me find a better solution. I had booked the truck a month out and they moved the pick-up location a couple days before my move. There was no attempt to make our situation better, no compensation for the extra gas used, no compensation for the extra time that I had to use from my already very busy moving schedule. On top of all that, the car smelled weird and felt grimy. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had and I will not be returning.

John CPretty positive experience, overall. I will say, however, that owner Misty was relentlessly grumpy at pickup. In general, she appeared to hate her job and my appearance was an unpleasant bother. No matter how cheerful I was, I could not change her mood. By contrast, the young man who dealt with the vehicle return was service-oriented, had a happy demeanor and was genuinely interested in our experience with the equipment. In a service economy, it is essential that every customer experience exceeds expectations at every stage of the transaction.

I reserved 10 days before online at another location only to be told DAY before that I had to go to this location. 1) U-Haul should have sent truck to my desired location versus me having to get there 2) Don't wait until day before to say you don't have truck 3) Then an hour before I was told to go to this location, I get another call saying there's no truck 4) Then after 30 mins I m told go to this location but once there man says there's no truck 5) After 15 mins now there is truck but no dolly which I reserved. Absolutely the WORSE experience. Never ever again will I rent from U-Haul of Columbus GA

Marc NDon't rent vehicles with broken wiper blades. Don't allow customers to operate vehicles with check engine light on. Give veterans a discount. Give an more accurate fuel level accounting. My beginning fuel level was a fraction least that three quarters filled, I took a picture and will need to return later to dispute my claim with a manager.

I didn't feel comfortable dropping the car towing equipment at the burnt down building I was directed to go to, instead of the Uhaul place actually being run, and in a safer location in town. I work for the government and would not leave anything at the destroyed business. I still had to unpack the truck. So I was told when I needed to be back with the truck, to avoid late fees. We drove straight through from Oklahoma and at 55 miles per hour in a truck whose brakes were very questionable, it was not a good drive. I also am a licensed CDL Driver, and that Uhaul which I reported should not be rented out until thorough maintenance was completed, was messed up. Anyway we arrived safely. And if I were to get a position with a state agency, I would not hesitate to to lease at the 930 10th Ave Columbus, GA 31901, location. The young man he help me start and close my 1133 storage rental is amazing and needs an award, or monetary bonus of some kind. Thank you for being there for my family. Respectfully, Lydia B. Unfortunately the climate-controlled unit is exceedingly hot and does not have as much vertical space as I would like. Also the layout of the facility makes it difficult to access your unit even with a small vehicle and it is difficult if not impossible for multiple customers to access units simultaneously. I'm not certain what the employee parking situation is but an employee vehicle had to be moved in order to facilitate the relocation of the rented trailer from near my unit to the desired return/drop-off location.

I set up an autopay that NEVER worked - not once did the autopay withdraw funds from my account, try as I might to get it to work. When I called the UHaul national phone number to request help and a refund for a late charge applied despite setting up autopay, the person on the phone refused to help, stating that the fault lay with my bank. They claimed that the funds took a couple more days after the due date to process, which was allegedly my bank's fault. When I tried to have autopay set up for another, earlier date to ensure payments went through on time, I was informed this was not possible. Then I monitored autopay only to find it NEVER withdrew funds at all. I have taken my business elsewhere. While I am a fan of UHaul's trucks and moving services, I was quite disappointed with the customer service I received on this matter calling the national number.

Your representative gave me a temporary access card to enter the building I left Uhal shorty to retrieve my unit key from home. When I returned couldn't open my unit because there was still a lock on it hours later after I made my past do payment. Having walked in the rain for a employee assistant to remove the lock so I can enter my unit. When I entered the unit I noticed water dripping down the wall of the unit and a puddle on the ground my things where wet. To many issues that could have been handled better.

This was very inconvenient and a bit of a hassle. After a month they finally got it fix. Probably because they were tired of having to let me in weekly. Other that that it was good and if we ever needed to store our belongings again we would consider this location.

I was told to come back later and ask office staff to let me into the card-gated hallway to access the unit. I was not told the unit number. Office staff were obviously overworked and too busy for pleasantries. These issues are not the fault of the staff, but the fault of Uhaul. Uhaul needs to provide their staff with adequate resources to do their jobs effectively. Based on this experience I will not use Uhaul for future needs, as their pricing does not reflect their ability to deliver on a consistent and reliable product.
Justin g | Premières impressionsWhen booking the space online from out of state, I selected the size I need and a unit that was described as "drive up exterior". When we arrived, that is not what we got. Instead we had a unit that was inside a storage building, at the end of a long & narrow hall, with a pole in the middle of the unit. We refused the unit for these reasons. The associate took us back inside and offered us a larger unit, which we accepted. Although the unit was still inside, the hall was wider and the unit was closer to the entrance. When finishing up the rental agreement at the counter, I was asked if I needed to buy a lock; I said no, I had one. It was not pointed out that a specific type of lock was required. A couple weeks later when we return to get a few things out of storage, there's a second lock on our unit with a tag for non-payment. We go to the office because a payment hasn't even been due yet. We were advised that it was because we weren't using the right type of lock, and that housekeeping would continue to put the additional lock on, and we would have to come during office hours to have them unlock it. We weren't happy about this, but said fine. The next time we came, the additional lock is on there and we are now informed that a charge for the lock has been added to our account. I will take ownership that the agreement requires this type of lock, so I paid the fee for the lock without complaint. However, the handling of this is very poor. Rather than lock a paying customer out of their unit, you should at LEAST call to inform them at the first notice. Also, this should truly be explained up front, as I would not have known the difference in lock styles in just reading the agreement. To wrap it all up, we cleared out our unit on 06/13/20, and followed the online instructions for move out on 06/14/20. The move out was not processed until 06/30/20, when I called because I received notice that payment would be due soon. Overall, we only had the unit for 3 months and it was a bad experience from start to finish with customer service. The unit was clean, secure, and well-lit, but the parking and access to the lot is also not ideal; many times we were stuck waiting for others to move a truck or trailer they were renting/dropping off and causing congestion in the lot.
