The confirmation email on the website only contains my name and the confirmation number. It would be helpful for it to also contain other details of the rental booking - location, time, vehicle, etc. This would reduce the call volume on weekends, as I had to call and confirm it all and was on hold for a very long time. In the branch for pick up and drop off, staff were competent and professional, but were obviously short staffed as everything took far longer than it needed to if they had more staff around.Christie L.

I have been emailed an accident claim and I was not in an accident at all. The unit was returned in perfect condition yet I'm being presented with a bullshit bill for something that didn't happen while i used the unit. I find this completely unacceptable considering I got a call the day after I returned the truck to ask where the keys were cause they couldn't find them but got a call after saying they found them. They were put exactly where they asked me to put them, so why were the keys lost and then found and now a damage claim that I know is 100 % not from me. Just very unprofessiinal and absolutely no proof that this so called damage happened when the unit was in my care. I am going to be sure to tell everyone i know that Uhaul has no idea what they are doing and blaming an innocent customer for something that they did not do. The lady who rented to me seemed to have racially profiled me, I've rented from this location before and to my knowledge they've never treated me the way she treated me. I had a lot on my plate with a move so I rented anyway despite what seemed like unfair treatment. I gave 100 $deposit and due to the wind, we used 150 $in gas and the uhaul guy charged me 80 $because the fuel was just below what it was when we picked it up. I maxed my back account and credit card on this move and was expecting my full deposit, or at least 75 $of it back. Now I'm broke and can't provide food for my household.Andrea C.

The complications of the checkout and check-in mobile App, added about an extra 45 minutes to what would have occurred, if your service personnel were engaged. Although I had a reservation and then waited about 20 minutes (in addition to the 45 minute) to be served, the man at the counter was courteous and knowledgeable, which was the highlight of the rental experience. Also during the checkout I took pictures of multiple other defects with the 10' truck that were not already marked by your company. (windshield chips, body damage, etc.). I will shop around next time I need to rent rather than automatically contact u-haul. Thank you for asking.Randolph M.

Maybe wash the vehicles out. The bed of the truck I rented was so dirty I went straight to a car wash to deal with it myself. There was less than 1/4 tank of gas, wouldn't it be easier to rent out a vehicle with a full tank of gas so it's easier for the client to know to just return the vehicle full of gas instead of trying to calculate how much is 1/4 tank or 1/8 of a tank or whatever. Like a car rental place does. But when I returned the truck, the lady in the parking lot going over the returning vehicles was absolutely AMAZING!!!! It's only because of her I would consider using U-Haul again. She was very kind, thorough, helpful, caring, I could go on and on. I was having a horrible weekend and she made the return process so much easier. She truly was a blessing! I needed someone to help me through the process as I was in a very stressed state. She made things so much better. I was told only major credit cards can be used at U-Haul but when I went online to extend the rental, I used my visa debit card and it worked. So when I returned the vehicle, I expected the charges to be put on my major credit card I used at the initial visit to pick up the rental. Nope. Apparently, my visa debit card was good enough to use to take the balance owing. Which caused two payments to bounce in my bank account. This has just caused me a whirlwind of problems. I was very pissed off U-Haul did this. Don't tell the client they will only use a major credit card but then turn around and use the visa debit card. I haven't missed or bounced a payment in six years until now thanks to uhaul. About an hour after returning the truck, Donna or someone called me to ask me to return the rental. I had an hour previous to her call. I returned it on time. I did it online with the help of the wonderful woman put in the yard. So I told Donna this and all she said was "oh I should refresh my screen" ummm......yeah Donna....good thinking. Maybe refresh your fucking screen before calling clients!!! I was busy moving and had to.stop to take this bullshit phone call. Then mm y visa debit card was used causing two payments to bounce. I'm pissed. My major credit card should've been used LIKE I WAS TOLD IT WOULD!!!!! So because of Donna, I don't think I'll use uhaul ever again. I don't need this shit happening to me again. Totally unnecessary and.very unprofessional. So U-Haul can eat my ass. Except for the nice lady in the yard. Even the guy working the counter when I picked up the rental was ok. Seemed very grumpy and not friendly, had a bit of attitude but not everyone can be perfect. I cannot say enough good things about the lady in the yard working. I wish I knew her name, I'm so sorry! Give materials that were purchased (mattress cover and box spring purchased not given). I tried calling to get a refund on covers. Was on hold in total over 70 min and still was unable to talk to someone. When I picked up the rental trailer I was told to find someone in the yard to help me. After 5 min of searching I went back inside and waited another 20 min for them to come out to help me. All in all the trailer was great but service was very poorCarl D.
I picked up the 9' cargo van from this location and was very surprised by the condition of vehicle. The van did not look like it had been washed in weeks, and required cleaning on the back window so I could actually see out of it. The front windshield still had the 19,99 $ sign up, the passenger seat had crumbs all over it and there was a strong barn smell in the van. The worst part is that the front right tire deflated as I drove home. Luckily I only live 5 minutes away but noticed the tire pressure light come on after a few minutes of driving. It did not appear that flat when I left the parking lot but regardless the van was clearly not maintained and I didn't not feel safe. Finally, the day after, I realized that I had forgotten my credit card at the location but no one called to let me know. They had it in the safe and were aware of my name and number but no one called me. This was easily my worst experience at uhaul and I'm not sure I will be going back in the future.Nathan N.

The new post-Covid self-inspection procedure is an absolute disaster. The website is simply not there yet in terms of functionality and ease of use. None of our information matched and it kept erroring out on us and telling us to get a staff member to help... at 9PM at night... The new fuel surcharges are astronomical and them there is the new "call your contact procedure". But I guess you still get a vehicle, so there is that. Just be sure to pay extremely close attention to all the details when inspecting your truck and contract. All the responsibility is now on you.Alexander K.

Trailer wasn't at the pick up site .. I had to go find it al another uhaul. Wouldn't let me have the trailer I paid for unless they contacted a second point of contact. I was being screwed around. Going to rent from someone else next timeJesse L.
Actually inspect your equipment. Trailer had no running no lights on the passenger side, only brake lights and signals were checked before leaving. One fender was missing 2 bolts and was loose, the other had one of two rubber tie downs almost broken off. The rear safety chain was broken and would have been very obvious if the an employee had even walked around the trailer. Trailer was filthy upon pickup, straps were stuck in the ratchets and had to fight to remove them. I also needed the trailer for a full 24 hours, but upon pickup, was told you booked it out at 7:30 the following morning, causing me to have to rush back, and not get the full usage I needed out of it. Not very impressed whatsoever, and still had to pay full price.Curtis M.

There are two entrances at this location and the lines for the tills can be formed on both sides, so the customers don't know who is next in line. Excessively long waits for staff assistance, there were always large uhaul trucks parked in the way of the “drive up storage locker” and would have to go inside and request them to move the truck, and there was mouse poop all over the floor of the unit with no barriers to prevent mice from getting in. I had made online reservations, and for some reason the associate could not find them. I had to go through the whole initiation again with her. I also signed up online for the free lock promotion, but they didn't have any in stock so I had to purchase a lock. The hold ups and disorganization is a typical experience at this location. When my friends had rented an indoor unit a few months back, we had about an hour of wasted time trying to deal with the swipe card not working for the facility, having to return in and out of the store to get help from an associate as nobody was willing to come outside to help deal with the problem, and the alarms going off constantly. Everthing was good except when the uhaul people in Calgary confirmed our 10 by 15 storage unit for us for 215 then when we got to Edmonton and they said we had no reservation for a storage unit so we had to take a 10 by 18. But it was 240. So we said okay we had no choice cause there wasn't any 10 by 15 left. My only concern relates to your practice of charging for the month. In my case I vacated the storage locker prior to the end of the prepaid month. I expected a partial refund of my monthly payment.
