The absolute worst experience. They computer system was a mess, long wait to get the truck. They said I could drop it off the truck after hours with no extra charge. When I dropped it off the website to check it back in tried to add a bunch of extra charges for just that. When I said that I did not agree with the charges they said they would contact me in 72 hours. Three days latter nothing, they already had my upfront payment so I did not worry about it, they did not contact me in 72 hours so that upfront payment should have been the final bill. TWO WEEKS LATTER they with NO notice or contact they pulled out a payment from my card. Now looking through my account it looks like the upfront payment never went through. Just how much of a mess is your company for the prepayment that showed up on my account to just disappear to show up TWO WEEKS later with not notification and for a different amount though the new amount is less however that happened. And three days after I turned in the truck they sent me a text to ask if I had returned it because they could not find it. How does it take THREE days to figure out one of your trucks are missing, (it was probably not missing they probably just did not update their computer that it was returned, as this was the issue that happened when I came in to pick it up), and instead of trying to figure out where they messed up first they decided to ask the customer if they know where the truck they turned in three days ago is. My experience felt like they had no organization and that no one was completing all the steps to return/rent the trucks out to people, and the website to pick/return the truck is an absolute dumpster fire with no consistency or quality control. The computers had gone down that day (which had caused the delay in me being able to pick up the truck) so I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and hope that most of this mess was do to the reboot of their system not going well. As someone who works a lot with computer I know how much of nightmarish mess it can be when systems goes down/ get out of sync/ crash. But also as someone who works with computers and spends a lot of time working on usability and testing, it is unacceptable to have website/computer systems that are that much of a mess. Though that issue is more with U-Haul itself then the actual location. The interactions with employs while in the store, while not anything great, was also not terrible. Over all, next time I move (may that be as far into the future as possible) I will be trying a different company to hopefully not repeat such a mess.
Windshield Wiper need to be replaced.... That was the only thing.
Taylor’s a great general manager!! She always helped me, even the other girls who worked with her were great!
Turn in was easy. Personnel at Decatur, AL told me to wait inside where it was warm. Took attendant maybe 10 min, told me the charges and I was gone. I mentioned the chip in the windshield.
I had to hook up the tow dolly myself and unhook it. The truck also smelled like an ashtray. It was very disappointing. I only rented the vehicle for a few hours but if I were moving long distance. I would have never taken the truck at all because of the smell...

The drop-off sign needs to be bigger
The truck was not clean inside and the tow button was on the whole time and I didn't know tht would cause me to use extra gas until after I was done with it. I also NVR knew I wld get charged $300 almost for miles just to Madison fr decatur! I drove maybe 4 times I also got charged for the dollie tht I did not evn use. I did ask for the appliance but I didn't evn use it so I accept tht charge. I also couldn't evn open the back door to the truck and had to take it bk to the store to get assistance in opening after wasting 2 hrs trying to figuring it out myself. I've nvr spent this much money on a uhaul before in my life!

Make it easier to contact the local store/location. Wait times to get to actually speak to an actual location employee is entirely too long and complicated process.

The website said that the first month was free. When I got to the site and completed my check in, I was told that I wouldn’t receive the free month rent because I didn’t rent the truck from that site. I feel that I should have been informed about that.
Truck stunk like cigarettes. Otherwise, all good.
I rented a car towing dolly toward the end of closing. Everything went well on the inside with a comment from the technician to "follow these instructions when you return" (Note 1: No mention of needing to log on with your mobile device for check in to avoid an additional $20 charge). Went outside, watched Technician (i.e. this one in training along with an experienced technician) hook up dolly. Was shown how to use the dolly/how to load vehicle and strap on and then told what to do upon return. Asked specifically if that was "all I needed to do upon return" and was told yes (Note2: No specific mention of needing to log on to mobile device to check in to avoid an additional $20 charge). Believe this was a mis-communication on both parts - No mention of needing to log on to mobile device from Technician and Shame on Me for not reading the specific instructions and taking the technicians word for "that's all I needed to do. Called the store to discuss this and no return call, went to the store to discuss and was told that there was nothing anyone could do....I was willing to make a purchase of the $20 so money would not have to change hands, but just the "we can't do anything to change or make the customer happy" is disturbing.....This is a handy location for me to use and have used when needed over several years....may have to consider a drive across town to utilize a different location in the future.
I was over charged and had to pay an extra day because the customer service that help me didn’t a activate my card for my 24 hour access. I called the after hours number to report in on why I had to keep the trailer and extra day because I couldn’t get in my unit. They told me I wouldn’t be charged because they was at fault but then the next day I was charged $80 extra bucks on my card I had to go into the office not once but twice to have them move empty trailers out of the way where they parked them in front of my unit. I was suppose to be about to get my uhaul at 2 am but wasn’t able to pick it up until 9 am. Throwing off all my schedule for them move. The whole thing using uhaul has been a nightmare Next time I will pay extra to get an istorage and Ryder truck. I was very disappointed on uhaul. When you went into the office or store on 6th ave. The customer service was very poor. I stood in the store over 15 mins with no one to be found and they was all seen out back smoking. This store needs new management or employees. This is getting ridiculous
Fix the online return process. Tell people ahead of time about "after hours return fees"!!

This guy was nice, but he didn't say i get my cash back by mailing taking around 2 weeks to get it back(i paid cash), and he said if i do not drive the 25 miles i get the difference back depending on how much i drive. The lady on Athens she said that i get it on check only by mailbox taking probably 2 weeks and no money back about my miles. I didn't expect that.
Expensive. Next time I'll rent a truck from Enterprise, it will be cheaper in the end.

I would think by putting a request into Uhaul 3 days prior to my RSVP, only to tell me that I have to drive another site 25 miles away. Can't keep the equipment there in Moulton, than shut it down. I have to waste my time and gas to travel 4 times back and forth. You have a lot of balls to ask me to answer a questionnaire. Your customer service sucks.
This is the friendliest UHaul location ever. Quick transaction, quick trailer hook up and instructions. Easy payment through their phone app. Can't be beaten.
The truck was filthy and we were overcharged. The attendant never walked outside when we picked up the truck.
Quite a bit more than I'm used to paying! Could NEVER get a hold of anyone by phone! Always on hold. Billing is bizarre...account online shows NO balance due but then assessed a late for not paying! "There was no balance due the 21st. You didn't have a balance until the 22nd. But you didn't pay it so there's a late fee." Well if NO balance is on account why would I pay? If there's a balance DUE the 22nd, then it should show that online from the 23rd of previous month until date due! Seriously?! But it was convenient to home and available when I needed it but I bought a small shed and put up at home b/c it's much more convenient and affordable!
1st class Uhaul location. Clearly what Uhaul locations aspire to become.
Don't be so nitpicky about extra charges like mileage and gas. The turn location was over five miles from my residence. I was charged for 5.9 miles over the allowed limit. Also, I was charged almost $12 for being about gallon short of filling the tank back to what the fuel gauge said it was when I got the truck. Ridiculous. I left with a bad impression of Uhaul. I will NOT use them on the future.
Be present Don't waste customers time. Realize when you hold a customer from loading it could cost them a day of pay at work be courteous and think before you speak.

first they must be working on commission, they overcharged me, when I brought the trailer back the girl was very indifferent and didnt want to hear what I had to say, she deliberately charged me for another day even though I had it back by 17:00. then she charged me $49 for a $7 dolly that I used for 2 hrs. Ive been a long time very satisfied customer, 1st time at this location and the last. The BBB will be notified.

The man who rented the truck to me was wonderful and made it very easy, but the lady in the afternoon was crabby, unhelpful, and seemed to be very confused! But the truck was clean and nice and it was overall a good experience!
Get a new manager. She was rude and obviously knows nothing of customer service.

Competent, friendly staff, awesome new van. Why on earth is it so expensive though. 3 days, $212 + fuel. Local travel in-town, & yes, i understand 'added mileage', blah blah blah; but for crying out loud, corporate greed is out of control. 'Regular' Americans rent these vehicles & trailers out of a (desperate) need, an added expense. As EVERYONE knows, no one can afford to support even a houseplant in America, why does your damn CEO make it harder?

The lady that was working that day was rude and very unhelpful. We told her we had the wrong dolly and instead of her changing it herself she made us load it into the truck. She lied about the gas and we incurred an additional charge. We will not be renting from Uhaul again!!!

Put the customer first. It took 40 minns. to get a small trailer. They are slow to react. They dont know how to use the software . They lost my information and had to reapply . Its always that way.
Exceptional customer service on both picking up and returning and will continue to use U-Haul for my moving in travel needs

Carts to move items in are very convenient however the entry is so rough the carts will not roll, repairs needed.
Some staff are pleasant and helpful. Other staff have been basically rude especially considering that I have paid them $4700
Made reservations put my bank card on file called 2 days prior to pick up lazey assured me that everything was fine got to the store off of shorter Ave and nothing was correct from Georgia store or Decatur alabama 6th Ave store your employees were mean slow and unprofessional an i still ended up with the wrong storage up stairs dissipated with the service all day
The manager Taylor is awesome and extremely helpful.
Rain water got into storage and i had some water damage to a few items. I believe water came from under the door. I did not purchase any insurance from Uhaul so i just packed up my furniture and left

Door was falling off at the bottom. Kept rental 2 months, door was never repaired. Access/ egress was bad, in back by gravel alley with trash, & Hugh potholes. Hardly any lights in that area at all.
The only problem - my storage unit leaked. Pictures got ruined. I did not get the insurance, surely I thought the place would be dry. I learned the hard way. Manager paid one month's rent.

They saved me some money with the free month storage for renting a truck , I rented a truck 11/2 years ago and the free month was still good to use but I forgot until I was about to pay !!

I was disappointed that last month’s rent was not prorated. I paid on 3/13 as due, removed contents & cancelled on 3/20. After six years of quarterly on-time pays & rate increases wish prorated bill.
Mgt issues day one rules won NEVER WILL USE ANYTHING FROM UHAUL or ever recomment your company. Call if really interested.

Some of the staff were nonchalant and some seemed to just want you off the phone. Felt like I was being rushed.
Tammy and Taylor were fantastic to work with and very helpful. I appreciate them helping me finish my half across the country move which involved a large number of u-Haul U-Boxes.
Our storage building was destroyed in a storm. UHaul gave all of the victims of the storm one free month of storage. I really appreciate that. Thank you UHaul!!
