This young man met me at the truck and was very polite. He made the return very pleasant.
MICHAEL G.I needed to return the trailer to a different location than the one I had scheduled. After calling three different numbers (because UHaul makes it unclear which number to call when you need to make a change), the person who answered my call did not know to tell me that I could go to the new location and find out if it was possible and if there was any charge. She just kept saying there was no way for her to tell me if there would be any charge (which is technically true, but unhelpful to me. She should have been told to say "Go the the location that you want to return the trailer to, and they can help you"

When I explained that our uhaul had caught on fire and we were there to get another truck so our items could be transloaded into the second truck. He was more interested in the wild events surrounding the uhaul fire than actually trying to help me.

Was the absolute worst experience I've ever had. while we were checking out he first tried to hit on my girlfriend, which freaked her out so she got up and walked off and I took over the process. He then proceeded to tell me that he doesn't agree with transgender people and that he believed a man and a woman should be together and on and on, until finally his coworker (a strong voiced African American woman) stepped in and told him he was being inappropriate. I can't thank her enough for her voice, as I was just sitting there in complete disbelief.

I have had to file a dispute with uhaul, which took 2 hours on the phone, and I still had my credit card charged for extras that were not applicable. Now disputing it with credit card company. A complete failure across-the-board in terms of customer service and could not recommend to anyone.

My mom is still upset about this and I find this unacceptable.

This should be done well before the reservation date. Also, returning truck instructions should be sent with reservations not just the address but a guide.

TIMOTHY M.My original reservation was with the Tuscaloosa Alabama store on Skyline Drive. I made the reservation about 6 weeks in advance for a 6 x 12 trailer. Two days before I received a notification that Skyline Drive did not have my rental, but one was available at Bolger Alabama 38 miles away, south of Tuscaloosa. I was coming in from North Alabama. This was totally unacceptable. I then called the reservation line and the call kept being dropped. Again, totally unacceptable. I cancelled my reservation and recreated it going to the 6th Ave Store. With my schedule on Friday and having to meet my expected arrival date in Tuscaloosa, U-Haul's in ability to keep a reservation costed me an extra day's rental. I am EXTREMELY unhappy with this. U-Haul could make this right with me by refusing 24 of the 48 hours of the rental. That would make up for the extra gas I has to expend pulling the trailer the extra distance. On a positive note, the 6th Ave Store is my go to for local rentals, the staff is friendly and professional, equipment well maintained. I so far I have had a very good experience working with them.

Lori B.The location smelled disgusting. They didn't have the appliance dolly I needed and made me go across town to get it. They could have demonstrated excellent customer service skills and easily went to the other store to get it before my reservation time, but they chose to make me do it. The truck steering needed some major work done to it. They're was a lot of play in the steering wheel. They shamelessly put blankets and a furniture dolly in the truck, but it was locked up so they could charge me for it if I used it. Not only was this a dirty truck to try to get me to pay for something that I didn't want, but it also took up precious room in the truck that I could have used.

(packing, auto accessories) The storage unit was fine for a climate control while the others were regular units while I was transitioning and moving family. U-Haul doesn't refund early vehicle returns, that's too bad. U-Haul was available when I needed them!

She could not give me an answer to the issue and said "she couldn't help me" in a less than desirable tone and demeanor. She also said that she would have the manager call me for further clarification and help that she could not provide but I was never contacted. Taylor was always helpful through email and the in-person staff was always accommodating, helpful and friendly. One bad experience was all that I had.

I called the after hours number to report in on why I had to keep the trailer and extra day because I couldn't get in my unit. They told me I wouldn't be charged because they was at fault but then the next day I was charged $80 extra bucks on my card I had to go into the office not once but twice to have them move empty trailers out of the way where they parked them in front of my unit. I was suppose to be about to get my uhaul at 2 am but wasn't able to pick it up until 9 am. Throwing off all my schedule for them move. The whole thing using uhaul has been a nightmare Next time I will pay extra to get an istorage and Ryder truck. I was very disappointed on uhaul. When you went into the office or store on 6th ave. The customer service was very poor. I stood in the store over 15 mins with no one to be found and they was all seen out back smoking. This store needs new management or employees. This is getting ridiculous

Billing is bizarre...account online shows NO balance due but then assessed a late for not paying! "There was no balance due the 21st. You didn't have a balance until the 22nd. But you didn't pay it so there's a late fee." Well if NO balance is on account why would I pay? If there's a balance DUE the 22nd, then it should show that online from the 23rd of previous month until date due! Seriously?! But it was convenient to home and available when I needed it but I bought a small shed and put up at home b/c it's much more convenient and affordable!
