Unorganized workers, under staffed compared to the amount of customers. The line was at the back of the store. Mobile check in sucks cause it’s a slow process. When returning vehicle the lady was eating a breakfast platter. I’m not renting here ever again.

Truck was clean but not in good condition. Transmission shifted very unevenly, and the engine surged a couple of times in low gear which nearly caused me to run into the car in front of me.

Terrible attitudes, lazy (I was given a key fob and told to go around the lot clicking it until I found the vehicle. What kind of customer service is that!?) Upon return, my GPS said I had travelled 76.4 miles (address to address) and was told I was being charged for 106 miles. There was NO WAY I travelled that far. I will never go to this location again and will probably go to another rental business. On a positive note, the people at the Call Center were great and the reservation process went smoothly.

Staff could assist customers better by stepping out of their air-conditioned office instead of pointing in the general direction of what is to be located, ex. The storage unit, the uhaul truck,... . Also, the way they try to post a charge for an entire month at 12 am on the day it's due!! unfriendly and lazy staff

I paid for a dolly and when I received the truck there wasn’t a dolly. I didn’t realize I wasn't provided the dolly I paid for until I started moving. I returned my truck before my return time and wasn’t able to check the truck in on the uhaul website. I was charged an additional $20 although I called a representative and informed them I could not check in online.

Area had more Vans Than They needed and not one Van was set up with a tow package witch left the customer with no choice but to rent a box truck to use a tow dolly to move my car. if I wanted to use one of the vans I would have to buy a 2" ball from them. I will never use u-haul again.

I rented a 15 foot truck for one day, I went from Suffolk to Vb va twice, mileage should have been 65 miles there and back,for both trips, then to a friends house to drop off some other furniture and back to the house. I know it’s 12 miles to a friends house and the truck said that it was 22 miles, I can prove it if need be, so by my guesstimation I should have drove 157 miles five or take a couple and I was charged for 221 miles......No way, I can give address where I went. I’m very upset because I feel like I was ripped off and it’s absurd to think that I paid over $300.00 to travel such a short distance and then when I get to drop it back off, the gentleman tells me it’s gonna be $250.00, when I already paid almost $95.00 for the deposit. Like he would refund me the $95 and then charge me again for the new amount! Seems fishy to me!

I felt deceived and cheated because the Uhaul employee in Portsmouth, VA verbally conveyed that I could drop off the vehicle at a location convenient for me but failed to put that in writing so I was shuffled to other locations. He also recorded that I received 12 blankets after directing me to take a BAG that was UNOPENED (I had no idea that there was SIX per bag). As it turns out I had no use for them so the bag was returned unopened. It may seem to be trivial, but if 100 customers per day overlooked that detail then the Uhaul Corporation would have cheated their customers ‘Trojan Horse style’ out of a substantial amount. The inconvenience caused by this experience was truly disappointing!!!

Lights on right side of trailer stopped working, due to corroded ground wire. Since I am a ASE certified mechanic I was able to locate and repair the problem. The average person would had to call someone. Check wiring for corrosion and repair.

I would rate the Airline location as average. My poor rating reflects the overall experience of my rental. I called the Airline location to set up a rental for a trailer. The representative was courteous, but indicated that the size trailer that I was looking for was not available. She politely transferred me to the Greenbrier location. I set up a rental for 4 pm, 2 hours later than I wanted, but that was the earliest that the trailer would be ready. I get to the Greenbrier location and my reservation could not be found. I was told that my rental was shifted to the airline location. I asked to rent a 5x8 trailer that was on site and I was told that it was reserved...When I got to Airline, there were two 5x8 trailers available. Bottom line: I wasted a ton of time and effort to get my rental. I am highly displeased.

The truck I rented had a cockroach infestation. We had to go buy insecticide and bug bomb our belongings after delivery. I notified the employee and was not offered any compensation for my disgusting inconvenience. Now I potentially have an infestation on my hands because of U-Haul.

The appointment window I reserved and requested was not honored. I completed an online reservation to have the truck until 7pm. When I spoke with the service assistant I told her I would like the truck until 2pm. However, upon leaving the store with the truck, I received a text message stating the truck must be returned by 12pm. I now understand, after speaking with someone at another uhaul location, that this location likes to overbook its equipment thus making the customer pay more. It is unfortunate I was not listened to and my request was not honored. I will not use this location again.

This location is no as customer friendly. The last uhaul truck we rented before this one stunk badly of cigarettes, which is gross. The staff is decent, but I had to call and get extra miles on my truck because the allocated ones are not enough for the one way trip and the person on the phone was not only very ride but put me on hold without asking or telling. All the other locations are very helpful.

My issue with this was I don't like how you hold customers money for 30 days even after you have already paid your money. That's unacceptable to me. Also, you have to go through way too much just to get it released. Im not sure what the reason for holding a customers money way after the transaction has been completed, but that is something that definitely needs to be changed. I dont know if I will rent another Uhaul truck again just for that reason. My parents was moving the same week as me, and they were going to rent a uhual but I stressed to them to be aware they will put a hold your money, and its very hard to get it off, so they didnt rent one. Please fix this
