Please have ID photo scanner at uhaul locations. As my phone's camera doesn't work. Checking out at uhaul used to be simple, now it's more complicated and it doesn't even work. The so called safety protocol at uhaul is a joke, I've seen so many workers not wear masks. Ventilation is poor. There's no clear defined line for proper social distancing. The covid delta variant is here and its rapidly taking over much much faster than before. There's no point in panicking, we just have to be smart about it.shu Y.

We were able to park securely overnight in the secure locked gated lot while we rented our 20ft truck! the security guard kindly greeted us when we came back to pick up the car at night, and the gate was locked to our surprise, but we came back in the morning to get our car no problem!Marya K.

Hello. My name is Frank Burns. I live in San Francisco. I have always held your company in one of the highest respectable company. Been with you all my whole life; up to now. I was late with my truck, and the catalytic converters were stolen, I was charged over 1 000,00 $ for them. My total bill was, 3 255 $+ 30,00 $. When I finally get the money up to so I could get my tools, over 10 000,00 $ worth of DeWalt Power Tools. I was yelled at by the manager, who told me my bill had just doubled, and you'll pay it if you want your Stuff back. I told them( the girls at the counter out front. All the I had just lost my job, and getting this truck wasnt easy for me, and the bad part is, is that all my tools were in that truck, and it was gone, I went to find it, and I got bullied out of the yard. I have a job offer from the lady at church, and my tools have been stolen by representatives of your company, and you are going to force me to still pay you for the use of that truck. It truly hurts my insides to say to you; I unfriend YOU ALL. I will no longer be doing any business with the company known as UHAUL. You have always been an example of hope and wonder, today; though, I've never cried more about anything, this hurts on so many levels. Good bye yawl. JOB1:8 I want that every day of my life. If a customer is checking in through their mobile/app, why make the customer go find the car then go inside the office to collect the key? It makes the process a lot longer - it would make more sense to have the key ready in the truck or to have someone outside/nearby to have the check in process ready to go. Also, make the online support and in-person support more seamless. After I checked in in person because the advisor said she could just do my contract instead of having me wait, the online advisor called me needing to "complete the pick-up" but I already had my keys... Not to mention I kept receiving mobile app notifications saying I had not checked-in. The system needs to read one another better; online and retail location.KARINA R.

The mileage stated on the contract and the actual mileage varied by 7 miles. The contract showed that the gas tank had quarter tank of gas, whereas in reality it had absolutely no gas and barely made it to the gas station where I had to fill gas. When I went back to the rental counter to complain, I was told to use the app and correct the errors. I am a tech savvy person. The App is so bad, I was unable to record the correct mileage and gas tank levels despit several attempts. After entering the actual mileage and gas level, when I 'submit', the data reverts to the previous erroneous data for mileage and gas level. When I returned the vehicle, I had to show proof, luckily I had taken pictures, that the mileage and gas levels were different from what was showing up in the UHaul records online. The check in process is not good. The mobile check in did not work at all and I waited 25 minutes for my rental credentials to be reviewed online. When I finally went to the counter, they told me to keep waiting. When I went to another attendant after another 10 minutes, they were able to check me in on the spot. To be truthful my truck was not on the lot but outside on Bayshore. That was a bunch of homeless/indigent guys approaching me as I attempted to pick up the truck. They took the cardboard window sign and ran off. It smelled like urine and was a little sketchy. The rest of my experience was fine but you guys need to clean this up. Either keep all trucks on lot w a security guard and prevent the homeless from encroaching on your Turcos and clients on the street. Come on. It's Business 101.ROBERT T.

The drop off location in San Francisco was in a shady neighborhood with homeless people and garbage everywhere...but, that's not really U-Haul's fault. We did the after hours return at night and it was a bit stressful. That said, the instructions were posted clearly and the immediate area felt safe.James W.

Service representative did not tell us where to return our boxes. We had to ask 2 different employees where to return them to. The first, said no take them outside, and then the employee outside said take them inside. Meanwhile we are hauling around all of these plastic boxes just trying to return them. When we got back inside the employee just rolled her eyes and told us just to â€œdo whateverâ€. The store is also dirty and impossible to park at due to cones being left around and unused trucks blocking parking spots. I will avoid this location at all costs in the future.Will H.

Make the blanket pick up closer to the trucks. It's too far too walk 40ft or more with bunch bags of blankets. Also have people fill the tank full for trucks so we don't have to guess how many gallons to put in. It's ridiculous: No other truck company does that!Shu Y.

Truly an outstanding storage facility in every way, which I always recommend to friends in need of one or more storage units, and where I have rented multiple units perhaps for 20 years. Your staff are excellent too, in particular the Storage Manager at Bayshore U-Haul, Debbie Zaldana, who has always been exceptionally helpful and provided supervisory assistance if needed throughout the many years I have rented my several storage units, as have friends to whom I recommended the location, none of whom ever regretted their decisions to rent units at Bayshore U-Haul! Make sure that employees dont give dirty Vans to customers while they have so many clean ones in the parking lot. They think it is fine. It is really bad customer experience. i did reservation day before so i got there by 9:45 am to pick up my van for 10 am picking up but i had to wait till 11:15 am to get out there because employees are so slow. Without a doubt, the staff at this UHaul understand Customer Service. It's clear that the GM, Don has created a positive environment and sets a great example for his employees on how to conduct business. Both he and the storage Manager Debbie helped my son and I with a quick install of a trailer hitch and solutions on how to get his stuff back to Texas without costing an 'arm and a leg'. I especially loved hearing that someone from the cleaning crew offered up tools and a helping hand when it was apparent that getting the pallets of stuff from the third floor to the dock was going to be a challenge. I got in at 6:45 and the staff that was working refused to allowed me to move into my unit. So as a "favor" they "allowed" me to park my open trailer with all my stuff in the hitch bay. I do not understand why you say you're open until 7. When I came the next day I was told that no one knew how to open the hitch bay and that I had to come back at 3. They also told me that they don't understand why the people on Saturday didn't let me move in then. This was extremely inconvenient. Then, even though I reserved a ground floor unit, it turned out to be a 5th floor unit with steps that had to be climbed to get my stuff in. This wasn't mentioned anywhere and was not what I reserved. So I had to upgrade to an 8x8x8 on the third floor to avoid the steps which is costing me considerably more money. It also has a column in the corner so it's not really an 8x8x8. The column is easily 1x1x8 so why am I paying for an 8x8x8? Doesn't seem fair. Lastly, zero of your male employees were masked berating a mask around your neck or mouth doesn't count. Suffice to say, I'm looking for another place to store my stuff and judging by my experience on Saturday evening, I'm guessing no one really cares so. I also need to say that while there was some effort to remedy my situation on Saturday there is no reason I couldn't have been given my card and allowed to move my stuff in. My "staff friendliness rating" was based on the Saturday crew. The Sunday crew was much more helpful and I'd give them a "yes" for this question.allan g. | Premières impressions

The worst experience EVER - first the location on Bay street saw my reservation but said they had nothing available due to a glitch and didnt see to care that i made this reservation a month in advance and called everyday the week leading up to me need the storage for a week and they confirmed it but when i arrive they tell me otherwise. I had to really lose my patience from the frustration to finally get them to find me a new storage facility which is how i ended up in Bay shore. What is the problem with you people? I have money in my account, my account is still the same and nothing has changed. I have been a customer with you for 5 years and my account has been on auto payment the whole time. You have to first request payment from my bank and in turn, they pay U-haul as they have for the the last five years but you already know this and that's why I believe you periodically try and scam or deceive customers into delinquency with their storage rooms. Please do what you were supposed to do in the first place and request payment of 129,00 $ from my bank and refund the late fees. Also stop your decitful practices of dropping active credit/debit cards, not requesting auto payments then alleging customer defaulted all in U-haul's attempt to place delinquency liens in order to wrongfully confiscate clients storage rooms.Paulette (Paula) L. | Premières impressions

Never had any issues in getting to and from my storage unit. Staff were always helpful they get a 10/10. This was the worst experience I've ever had hands down and you better believe this won't be the only place I'm reaching out about it. every review channel every phone number you have... expect to hear from me. After being told my the van company that we could only have the van till 5 even tho we rented it for the day because "other people needed it" our movers were then 2 hours late (booked by UHaul) and when we got to your "facility" we are told the unit size we reserved not only isn't available but doesn't exist. at which point the dude who was "helping us" called over Wendy who obviously couldn't care less about what was happening even though I had 2 movers waiting that had already completely unloaded our van and STILL she wanted to make us go to the Bryant location to get a Ubox from them instead. The most mismanaged badly run facility i've ever seen. While i was there i heard 2 other people have meltdowns because you guys ruined their reservations and took payment for services you could not provide. whoever the GM is, expect to be hearing from me. I had to pay my movers an extra 120 $to stay another hour since this dumpster fire of a situation took up an hour of the time they were supposed to be moving my stuff into the unit. On top of this nightmare the one locker available was at the top of a pully ladder stacked ontop of another unit. AND IT'S 40 $+ MORE THAN WHAT I RESERVED ONLINE. I expect this price match to be met after this hellfire saga. I have to say the mismanagement of this location is a joke. Elevators out of order. Rodent eating my furniture. No supervision of other customers, not even a guideline, so once I came upon a man clipping his toenails in the aisle. Another time, a customer took every single cart and the staff would do nothing about it. I waited for a very long time for the sole staff available (20 min). I had rented an 8x8x8 storage. She had to unlock the storage first, yet she chose to take care of the next client. After waiting for an additional 10 min, we proceeded to my storage unit. I discovered that a quarter of the unit was occupied by a very large column (2,5 x 3). She mentioned she knew about it and almost insinuated that I should have known; she insisted that it was an 8x8x8. The unit was useless to me as I needed to place 2 large items (a couch and an erg machine). She refused to upgrade me. She refused to help out finding an alternate facility. I eventually had to drive close to 30 miles away to be able to store my items. A terrible experience unlike the one at the Oakland Coliseum's. It's a terrible facility run by rude and unprofessional people. The employees were always slow and inefficient. There are way to homeless and unstable people lurking around and loitering, so much so that I never felt safe.
