I was charged extra for gas when in fact I returned the truck with a little more gas compared to when I drove it out the lot. I pumped gas right before I returned the truck (gas station was only about 3 blocks away) and made sure it had enough gas. The staff on the other hand were very nice and friendly, not sure why I was being charged extra for gas.

I showed up to collect my pickup truck. I was given the key to a truck completely boxed in by others, I then had to run around to find a staff member to get the keys for the other trucks so that I could pull out. Once I was able to get in the truck I was assigned, the gas tank was completely empty. I then had to go back and find another staff member to assign me yet another truck. I was finally assigned a truck that was accessible and had gas (nearly an hour later). However when doing the vehicle inspection the gas level in the car was lower than what was on the report. I took a picture of the fuel level at the start of my rental to prove that I did not use that much gas. At the end of my rental, I showed this to staff who assured me I would not be charged for fuel. I later get my receipt and I'm charged an additional 63 $for fuel I did not use. I called and emailed the location to resolve this and got no response. Rough experience for me because of how seemingly unprepared staff was for my arrival though I booked ahead of time and arrived on time. And poor communication/issue resolution when errors were identified.

The staff and the mechanic were all professional and competent. I suggest that you ask/point out to the customer, if they/he/she are dropping off their vehicle, some of the local, convenient buses. For instance, I caught a bus on Paul St., only a block away from the U-Haul location... You should point this out...

the worker connecting the trailer to my car was not very informed about the adapter needed to have the tail lights work on the trailer. his manager was there as well and just texted on his phone and didn't address my concerns. i bought the proper adapter and they didn't know how to connect it. i got involved and was able to get it to work.

Very rude manager and front desk woman. I reserved a trailer for 7 hours, but when I got there, they told me I needed to bring it back in 4. They did not apologize or even sound understanding of the situation.

Have fuel in your truck. Avoid people going to the gas station right after they pick up trucks. Give customers accurate level of fuel and making sure someone drive the truck out and supervise the truck to avoid later confusion.

The first truck that they contracted me for had damages on the body of the van and numbers written on the front windshield as though the car needed repair. I reported this issue to customer service and they switched me to a different vehicle which turned out fine

This is the 3rd time you people have charged me for extra gas and you only do it when I drop the truck off and do not go inside for the check in. Great scam if you can get away with it. But I want my 15 $dollars back. I drove 29 miles and I put in 4 gallons right down the block from your business. So I know it did not need any gas . Stop screwing your repeat customers

They don't care about the customers. Debra is very rude. She's is not truthful and she stole or put a lien and sold my stuff w/out alerted me. They were still collecting my monies. She lied about everything as well as staff they need to fire everyone and hire trustworthy and honest people. I put this on Facebook and Yelp for ratings

I had to go get the van from a row where there was no room to get in the van . Once I got in and got it started they said it had a quarter tank and it was empty and promptly ran out of gas.they put half a gas can in and I had to gas it immediately upon leaving

I spent 40 minutes when I returned the truck to make sure the error in the fuel level on the original paperwork was corrected and I would not be charged for gas. I showed photographs with time stamps to prove the error. I showed miles out and the fuel gage, miles in and the fuel gage, and a receipt for 43 $of gas for the 45 miles I drove. I was finally told I was good and would not be charged. And yet I was. For the 15 $UHaul extorted I will make sure you get thousands of dollars of negative publicity. Your fraud needs to be made public. Enjoy the exposure!

Line was too long to get the reservation. With 5 workers on one computer trying to figure an issue. Worker on lot has to put away other trailers rather than just hookup mine first. Very rude and didn't even show me how to safely tow and put car in. Trailer tire strap was broken and have to improvised. Kent WA location return told me that it should've been deemed down trailer since straps are broken.

I've rented trailers several times over the last few months. The only hiccup in the process is returning. There doesn't seem to be any organized way to return the trailer. I am instructed to drive the trailer to the trailer area and"someone" will assist. I wait patiently and it takes several (15) minutes to find someone or get recognized. Invariably by that time, another person or two show up to drop a trailer. Then I have to wait for them to be taken care of.

When I went to return the truck, the girl wasn't friendly. It seemed like she hated her job. When I told her I'm here to return a truck, she told me to drive it under the canopy and leave the keys inside the car then I can go. First of all, I don't feel comfortable doing that since this is a sketchy location with a lot people loitering outside. Anyone can walk through during business hours and hop into a truck with the keys inside and drive off! Secondly, I came from 400 miles away so I want a confirmation that everything has checked out for my return. I also came here with no car so if I needed to come back to U-Haul for some reason, I'd have to waste money on an Uber. In the end, my boyfriend found a worker in the truck drop off area and the worker directed him to drive the truck in front. I felt better that someone from U-Haul acknowledged my return and left, expecting to get emailed a receipt. When I saw the receipt later, I got charged 19,61 $ from U-Haul indicating that I had returned a truck that was 3/8 full when I returned it with half a tank!!!!! I was charged for 3 gallons + plus tax. So done with U-Haul. When we were waiting outside for the Uber, a police officer drove up to us and asked us what we were doing here because this is not a safe area, I was screaming on the inside. This is why I do not want to leave the rental truck with the keys inside for anyone to take for a joy ride!! This is not a safe area.

Poor customer service. Sales people talking on cell phones, not wearing masks and singing with no masks on while customers are in line. Out in the lot the service people had to be page multiple times to come back to the areas that they managed. Having run my own business now for 30 years I can tell you that U-Haul is leaving a lot of money on the table with this disorganization!

I think workers at uhaul should be more efficient & organize. People at check out were very slow & then I got keys to my rental van that was behind other trucks They could not find the keys to move the truck in front of my rental. Then, they gave me another van that was low on air of the tire. The whole process to get my rental van was over an hour. Very dissapointed!

The one thing I would improve on is parking for personal vehicles and also U-Haul trucks. There wasn't enough carts to go around for everyone that was there so everyone was kind of hoarding the carts for dear life so they wouldn't lose it. Couple of the carts the wheels didn't work right and people got frustrated with that. Also I know you have day laborers but the way they linger around trucks keep asking the same question if you need help and I had to answer I am fine I have my kids here to help me. Just made me a little nervous. Also there wasn't enough people working at the counters to wait on all the people that were In line. Including myself I left because my storage is good till 20 September. I wasn't feeling well enough to wait as I waited about 15 minutes in line at least. Your mobile pick up wasn't working so my son and I had to go inside and the person behind the counter seemed not surprised that your mobile app was not working and actually grab my sons phone without even asking to look at the app. I didn't like that neither did my son Otherwise your storage is clean.

The reason why I put the van was not clean is because it needed a wash. The front window was so dirty, I could not start my long drive like that. So I actually washed the van completely! Staff was great !!!!! (Everyone, from phone reps to location personnel). I would recommend however that the vehicles have a full tank when being rented. Before I could make my 8 hr road trip, I had to stop by a gas station first. Not great when time is of the essence. Charge the customer extra on gas like rental cars, this way the renters will ensure to return it FULL (is what I recommend). Thank you. Will use this location again in the future if in need of a long haul vehicle.

The vehicle malfunctioned and caused an accident. The vehicles transmission stopped and made the car unsafe to drive and we couldn't even complete the move due to the problem as the vehicle caused an accident. Also the location did not provide on site parking despite having multiple open customer spots in the lot and all on street parking for several blocks was taken.

The car battery was in poor condition, and did not start back up after turning the vehicle off the first time. We also had trouble turning off the vehicle completely even after removing the key. Roadside assistance was also very difficult to reach (we never did). We waited until someone could help us jump the car.

The entire office experience was harassing, the stope inventory was embarrassing. The inability to accept address on government state and federal policies is disgusting sting. Employee's treatment of customers like cattle. It was a horrible complicated and long winded check out combined with employees lack of experience on the inventory. Boo. Shame!!

I drop off the truck early and I got called the track are missing, good thing I took a pictures. Front desk people are not wiling to help and with bad attitude. The guy on the return line did not give the recipes of my return he said hes too busy and He will do it later, then things happened truck is missing.

It took longer than expected (~30+ minutes) to get the keys for my van, even though I had scheduled mobile pickup in advance. The van was hard to find in the lot, and there wasn't great signage on where to go. When I went inside to pick up keys, the line was long, and it was nice to bypass with mobile pickup, but the staff spent about 10 minutes looking for the keys. It was also unclear where to park the van upon return. The equipment was clean and the staff was friendly, but I remember having a much quicker in-and-out experience at the Bryant street location.

The app asked me to locate my truck and the site is HUGE. I was given no general guidance as to what area to look in as there are several parking area covering this large site. I went into the office and the person behind the counter called on the radio for assistance and got none so she eventually went outside to find the truck herself. She was gone for at least 15 minutes before returning with the keys. Despite me already having scanned in front and back of my drivers license into the app I was asked to do it again. Did she take my license and do it? No, she sent me a link on my phone so that I could do it myself, AGAIN. If I had not mentioned the app maybe she could have just taken my license and entered the info herself. I am standing right in front of the rep. The U-haul app is qute terrible and bare bones. It does not show you the mileage or fuel level of your current rental (what you left with). It only reveals this information AFTER you start the return process. What if I didnt remember what my fuel level was? They are incentivised to make the app not tell you this in the hopes you will return it with less fuel and can charge you a fuel surcharge. The only reason I used the bayshore location was because it was saturday. In fact, I actually scheduled for the pacifica location and they moved it to bayshore automatically. The location is terrible, there are a ton of homeless and illicit day laborers loitering out front as well.

Not clear about rental process as to where to check in and where to return. Waited for very long time in line of only 2 customers ahead of us which caused delay in van pick- up early in morning by more than 1/2 hour. Process not very efficient when compared to car rental agencies. Perhaps if reservations known in advance as they were with me, more staff could have been manning customer counters and/or more info set up in advance such as number of packing boxes or other supplies desired. Waiting area and premesis very clean and we'll kept up. Availability of rentals was excellent.

Make sure there is stock of the hitch promised to be installed before the customer arrives. Improve system for rescheduling appointments (over an hour spent on phones without confirmations). Reduce time spent standing in line to see a representative at store. Very disappointed with service received, will not be using UHaul again and will actively suggest to others to use competitors…

After packing for months, having Covid affect my family, and only having my son able to help me move, finally going to your facility and experiencing awesome help, courtesy, patience From your worker Wendy I felt like such a burden lifted off my shoulders. She made it so easy to check in and get my storage area. She gave us a tour and was very pleasant always had a smile on her face and showed us all we needed to know with the cards in the elevator etc. I couldn't be more pleased. Being 64 years old and moving to another state was a lot on my shoulders. But your U-Haul facility and your worker Wendy made it a much more pleasant experience. Facility was clean, very accessible and with your workers let's just say I will recommend you to everyone. Thank you very much.

My experience with renting a truck and auto trailer then reserving the storage unit was excellent. Customer service to the employees in the offices at West Sacramento the lady an elija ( think that his name) were excellent very helpful. To the 2 young ladies at the Bayshore location in San Francisco. All were very helpful, pleasant , patient, excellent service. And I thank you as moving can be very difficult an stressful. It was great to be greeted with such integrity and knowledge of there job. Thank u so much.

Truly an outstanding storage facility in every way, which I always recommend to friends in need of one or more storage units, and where I have rented multiple units perhaps for 20 years. Without a doubt, the staff at this UHaul understand Customer Service. It's clear that the GM, Don has created a positive environment and sets a great example for his employees on how to conduct business. Both he and the storage Manager Debbie helped my son and I with a quick install of a trailer hitch and solutions on how to get his stuff back to Texas without costing an 'arm and a leg'. I especially loved hearing that someone from the cleaning crew offered up tools and a helping hand when it was apparent that getting the pallets of stuff from the third floor to the dock was going to be a challenge. Kudos and thanks to everyone at this UHaul!!!

Poor unprofessional staff, indifferent, lazy. On my check out day, I had to wait for a staff member who was too busy on her cellphone to help me even though she didn't have someone at her window. I won't even go into all the problems I had with your staff not processing my payments and then claiming I was late.

Would like 24 hr access to my unit. Also I only got the storage because you guys canceled my Ubox. It's pretty frustrating leaving my belongings behind in California as I move to Idaho. I got in at 6:45 and the staff that was working refused to allowed me to move into my unit. So as a "favor" they "allowed" me to park my open trailer with all my stuff in the hitch bay. I do not understand why you say you're open until 7. When I came the next day I was told that no one knew how to open the hitch bay and that I had to come back at 3. They also told me that they don't understand why the people on Saturday didn't let me move in then. This was extremely inconvenient. Then, even though I reserved a ground floor unit, it turned out to be a 5th floor unit with steps that had to be climbed to get my stuff in. This wasn't mentioned anywhere and was not what I reserved. So I had to upgrade to an 8x8x8 on the third floor to avoid the steps which is costing me considerably more money. It also has a column in the corner so it's not really an 8x8x8. The column is easily 1x1x8 so why am I paying for an 8x8x8? Doesn't seem fair. Lastly, zero of your male employees were masked berating a mask around your neck or mouth doesn't count. Suffice to say, I'm looking for another place to store my stuff and judging by my experience on Saturday evening, I'm guessing no one really cares so. I also need to say that while there was some effort to remedy my situation on Saturday there is no reason I couldn't have been given my card and allowed to move my stuff in. My "staff friendliness rating" was based on the Saturday crew. The Sunday crew was much more helpful and I'd give them a "yes" for this question.

The worst experience EVER - first the location on Bay street saw my reservation but said they had nothing available due to a glitch and didnt see to care that i made this reservation a month in advance and called everyday the week leading up to me need the storage for a week and they confirmed it but when i arrive they tell me otherwise. I had to really lose my patience from the frustration to finally get them to find me a new storage facility which is how i ended up in Bay shore. What is the problem with you people? I have money in my account, my account is still the same and nothing has changed. I have been a customer with you for 5 years and my account has been on auto payment the whole time. You have to first request payment from my bank and in turn, they pay U-haul as they have for the the last five years but you already know this and that's why I believe you periodically try and scam or deceive customers into delinquency with their storage rooms. Please do what you were supposed to do in the first place and request payment of 129,00 $ from my bank and refund the late fees. Also stop your decitful practices of dropping active credit/debit cards, not requesting auto payments then alleging customer defaulted all in U-haul's attempt to place delinquency liens in order to wrongfully confiscate clients storage rooms.

I have been here between 5-10 years. The past couple of years I have always found it clean. Obviously there is trash that appears all of a sudden but I have noticed either someone cleans it up while on their regular rounds or someone is sent up to clean it. Very well run storage property. In my two years of having a storage unit at this location I can say that all services rendered and provided were done so in a professional manner. Never had any issues in getting to and from my storage unit. Staff were always helpful they get a 10/10. If carts weren't easily available, a hand truck was provided as an alternative.

This was the worst experience I've ever had hands down and you better believe this won't be the only place I'm reaching out about it. every review channel every phone number you have... expect to hear from me. After being told my the van company that we could only have the van till 5 even tho we rented it for the day because "other people needed it" our movers were then 2 hours late (booked by UHaul) and when we got to your "facility" we are told the unit size we reserved not only isn't available but doesn't exist. at which point the dude who was "helping us" called over Wendy who obviously couldn't care less about what was happening even though I had 2 movers waiting that had already completely unloaded our van and STILL she wanted to make us go to the Bryant location to get a Ubox from them instead. The most mismanaged badly run facility i've ever seen. While i was there i heard 2 other people have meltdowns because you guys ruined their reservations and took payment for services you could not provide. whoever the GM is, expect to be hearing from me. I had to pay my movers an extra 120 $to stay another hour since this dumpster fire of a situation took up an hour of the time they were supposed to be moving my stuff into the unit. On top of this nightmare the one locker available was at the top of a pully ladder stacked ontop of another unit. AND IT'S 40 $+ MORE THAN WHAT I RESERVED ONLINE. I expect this price match to be met after this hellfire saga. I have to say the mismanagement of this location is a joke. Your employees are working class people that don't deserve the abuse they get from their customers because of how badly your management runs this location. FIRE HIM.
