There were pink panties in the trucks. I had to load my own add ons (dolly, furniture pads) with no assistance. Staff is blasé, unhelpful. When I called after two fees that I did not understand, the staff member I spoke with was terse, and essentially told me "that's on you." I'll be disputing the charges with my credit card company and NEVER using this location again.

I picked up my truck from Norwood and called before drop off to ask if I could drop at Cambridge. When I brought it there it took 20 minutes for them to figure out how to check me out and I got a message saying it was never done and uhaul thought I still had the truck. I’ve been trying to resolve this for 2 days and can’t get a professional response, held on the phone for hours and still no response from the Cambridge manager. This is a nightmare and I will NEVER EVER rent from or recommend uhaul again.

Absolutely terrible experience! Uhaul employees at the central square location know absolutely nothing about customer service. They treat customers very poorly and show they do not care about their job or the customers. Stay away from this location!

I initially signed a contract for $50 for an in town van rental then upon returning it (several hours early) I was charged an additional $50 for over 50 miles worth of usage though I had driven only 8 miles. I tried to explain the situation to a representative and I was sent to a dispute line where after explaining the situation multiple times and waiting for an hour I was placed on hold and then hung up on. No attempts were made to reconnect with me. I won’t be using these services again and would advise others against doing so. I understand mistakes happen and no business is perfect but after providing prior business to Uhaul and taking care of their equipment I was treated like I was trying to weasel my way out of paying them.

Very chaotic management of rental trucks. I've reserved one moving van one day in advance. And the employee working in this location changed my reservation time WITHOUT my authorization. Only one email informed me that 5 hours before the original reservation time. I still had to pay for the movers I arranged even they did nothing because I couldn't offer a van. Then I contacted U-Haul by phone and the staff had a very bad patience about it. She kept blaming me it was my fault to change the reservation time by myself, even I had the evidence to prove I did not. I had to walk into this store the next day (which is a business day and I asked for hours leave of my work) and talked to them to inquire the reason and figure out a new time to rent the van. All the process resulted in a great loss of money for me. And I had such a bad experience that I haven't met for years.

I booked the UHaul expecting to arrive and pick it up using the app on my mobile phone. Instead when I arrived all of the parking spots the app gave me had different trucks parked in them, and the truck I was being given were no where to be found. I tried approaching multiple UHaul staff members to ask for help and was literally ignored, not even a response or a word from them as I waited 45 minutes. Finally I was only able to get the van after refreshing dozens of times, and then being told I need to go back to the counter. A huge amount of my time wasted, which would have been fine if I wasn't promised the ability to pick up the van immediately, or even if I had just gotten a response from any of the 3 UHaul employees I approached. They just needed to tell me things were behind and I had to wait, at least I'd have known. Its not my first UHaul experience but it was honestly a terrible one and I will go with a Zip Van next time, at least trusting that I will get what I am promised for the price I am paying.

The truck was too big for my needs but that wasn’t asked. The pricing was nuts. Charging one rate and then adding on all sorts of fees shouldn’t be allowed. The storage area is really hard to load /unload and has a bad angle that makes the ground space actually less than advertised. Anyways Ezekiel was awesome in helping me at the end! Very nice guy. Made it a smooth experience.

Dolly was not available after I reserved one and I was charged for it anyway after I asked HER to take it off of my contract and I paid $40.00 to purchase another. The truck was not gassed, she tried to give me a truck with 1/8 of a tank - couldn't even get out of Boston with that little gas - and only gave me another truck that was 5/8 when I insisted. Also, I had to haul all of my blankets to the distant parking area and look for my truck. Terrible experience! You need to tighten that place up because it is not the experience that UHAUL advertises itself to be. Will never go there again and will warn others, too!!!

The equipment was reasonably clean but operationally seemed to be problematic. The steering was not operating as expected and there was a constant audible screech seemingly from brakes/rotors/wheels (?). All in all the truck performed and I guess it would have been a lot to expect from an equipment that has seen a lot of use. Overall I am satisfied.

I was initially given a uhaul with gas reading less than empty, then when I said I didnt know if I could makeit to a gas station I was given a second truck which was barely above empty. Both cars I was told had 1/4 tank. The app didnt work when I got the second truck to upload images(because initial images were not in the system).

I will never use U-Haul again. The person I booked with told me I could get the free storage room deal (with rental of a van or truck) even if the van or truck was rented AFTER the storage. Imagine my dismay upon learning at the facility that the van must be rented BEFORE the storage to get the free storage room deal. I'm fine with not getting a deal if it's not applicable - but don't tell me it's applicable and then take it away! I'm on a tight budget (which is why I used U-Haul in the first place), and if I'd known the deal would not be available to me I would have tossed my stuff in my friend's basement. Much more difficult and annoying, but FREE. Customer service was ridiculously unhelpful on the phone, said someone would contact me in 3 business days about it, haven't heard a peep since and it's been three weeks. Now I need to extend my storage (unfortunately, because I hate the thought of giving U-Haul even one more cent, but my stuff is already in your storage center in Philadelphia, which by the way is in one of the worst neighborhoods in Philly and does not inspire confidence in the security of my belongings, but I'm not about to move all my stuff again), and the website's not working! Great job, U-Haul. So I call, given no other option, wait on hold while my blood slowly boils, and then have to explain myself three times to the customer service agent (all I wanted was to pay for another month - how is this difficult to understand?). Do better, U-Haul. I will not be giving you my business again.

I was slapped with a several hundred dollar unexplained damaged/missing vehicle charge when I returned the vehicle in perfect condition. Even that was a very tricky thing to do because their parking lot was nearly full, and was completely blocked -- meaning there was almost no legal parking at all in the area. I was lucky to have found a spot after much waiting, but several others had to park illegally and possibly were later fined for doing so.

Customer service was abysmal. I came with a mass Id and a French driving license, yet the employee required a passport. For info It's illegal (and discriminatory) to require anything beyond a mass id in the Massachusetts. She obviously didn't care much about the situation anyway.

Staff is extremely helpful and provided a good customer experience. But elevator was not operational--hauling heavy items down the ramp on a dolly felt unsafe. The rolling ladders also need fixing.
