The person at the reception was harassing me that i didn’t check the vehicle thoroughly. I didn’t know the web checking replaces the personal inspection. The guy (big currly hair white guy) didn’t even explain and blame me that i just check the OK button on my phone. Super dirty customer service. He must lose his job for this attitude.

I was initially given a uhaul with gas reading less than empty, then when I said I didnt know if I could makeit to a gas station I was given a second truck which was barely above empty. Both cars I was told had 1/4 tank. The app didnt work when I got the second truck to upload images(because initial images were not in the system).

It wasn’t made clear to me the mileage charges and I returned the van with with an invoice for double what I was quoted on line. It’s on the location, it’s your on line reservations that’s the problem. I’ll never use or recommend UHaul again.

I will never use U-Haul again. The person I booked with told me I could get the free storage room deal (with rental of a van or truck) even if the van or truck was rented AFTER the storage. Imagine my dismay upon learning at the facility that the van must be rented BEFORE the storage to get the free storage room deal. I'm fine with not getting a deal if it's not applicable - but don't tell me it's applicable and then take it away! I'm on a tight budget (which is why I used U-Haul in the first place), and if I'd known the deal would not be available to me I would have tossed my stuff in my friend's basement. Much more difficult and annoying, but FREE. Customer service was ridiculously unhelpful on the phone, said someone would contact me in 3 business days about it, haven't heard a peep since and it's been three weeks. Now I need to extend my storage (unfortunately, because I hate the thought of giving U-Haul even one more cent, but my stuff is already in your storage center in Philadelphia, which by the way is in one of the worst neighborhoods in Philly and does not inspire confidence in the security of my belongings, but I'm not about to move all my stuff again), and the website's not working! Great job, U-Haul. So I call, given no other option, wait on hold while my blood slowly boils, and then have to explain myself three times to the customer service agent (all I wanted was to pay for another month - how is this difficult to understand?). Do better, U-Haul. I will not be giving you my business again.

I was slapped with a several hundred dollar unexplained damaged/missing vehicle charge when I returned the vehicle in perfect condition. Even that was a very tricky thing to do because their parking lot was nearly full, and was completely blocked -- meaning there was almost no legal parking at all in the area. I was lucky to have found a spot after much waiting, but several others had to park illegally and possibly were later fined for doing so.

Customer service was abysmal. I came with a mass Id and a French driving license, yet the employee required a passport. For info It's illegal (and discriminatory) to require anything beyond a mass id in the Massachusetts. She obviously didn't care much about the situation anyway.

Everyone working there was just hanging out complaining to each other about their jobs (in front of customers). They also didn't tell me that my drop-off location wasn't available and I got text messages while i was driving the truck that moved my drop-off location. I had to spend an hour on the phone while i was driving the truck coordinating how to drop-off the truck at the new drop-off location.

Parking of U-Hauls at the end of the day several trucks deep with no employees there was extremely difficult due to parked cares and improperly parked U-Hauls. Many others returning their trucks just decided to go to other locations and drop off there. Employees should be there whenever people are dropping U-Hauls off.

We made a reservation on 5/14 for our Uhaul for 8:00 PM mobile pickup on 5/28. We received a phone call at 6:49 PM the night of our reservation (an hour before pickup) that we would not be able to pick it up at 8:00 because they don’t offer mobile pickup. This was also 10 minutes before closing, so our only option was to pick it up at 7:00 AM the next morning. Unfortunately this caused a huge inconvenience in our move and we had to rearrange all of our plans to accommodate this and lost several hours of loading time. I definitely don’t think notifying someone of this an hour before their reservation and 10 minutes prior to closing is acceptable.

When we finally receive the email, they over charge us $150 for finding a small dent in the van (which we are sure is not from us). The location is convenience, but it is scam. The female worker was completely rude and arrogant, leaving customers to ran back and forth between places because she was too lazy to explain any detail of the storage and car rental service. Will definitely NOT recommend anyone to EVER use U-Haul service again if the workers’ attitude are all like this. This is ridiculous.

Everyone was very helpful. We had ordered a pickup truck but decided to switch to a van, and they changed our reservation without any issues. When we returned the van, James made the return process very painless. We had also witnessed him having to deal with a very angry customer earlier that day, and he kept calm during the whole thing. (The customer had been yelling at him for a problem that was not within his control.)

Extremely confusing rental process. I had reserved the truck and entered the anticipated milage online weeks before my trip, as I have with UHaul in the past. When I arrive, the truck was not ready and none of my details pulled through. I was rented the truck and the standard rate and was never asked trip details. Wasn't provided a receipt or any paperwork for that matter in check in or at dropoff time. Overall the location seemed chaotic and disorganized. Still haven't been able to confirm what my total charge will be. Why is there even an option to reserve a trip online if all of that is ignored at the facility?

The staff looked exasperated and made faces when I came in to get the key after using the 24/7 online app. I'm not sure if they're used to working with this system yet. When trying to return the truck after hours, the app tried to claim that I'd driven 5000 miles in 11 hours and owed $8000. I'm sure it was just a glitch. I disputed it but returned the truck anyway and it all seems to have worked out.

I waited for 15 minutes at the location before I was served. There was only one person behind the counter and when they were done helping the person in front of me, she left the counter unattended to use the bathroom. When I commented on the wait time, I didn't not receive an apology but was told "to use the app next time". I'm no expert, but Saturday is probably a busy day and perhaps this location should be staffed accordingly.

Read your receipt and return contract carefully. I brought back my truck, and the person working the counter just told me to hand him the keys and I was good to go. About 15 minutes later, I received an email with my final contract and there was a small charge for refueling the truck. I had just refueled at the nearest gas station (Broadway Gas) and ensured the tank was filled to the appropriate level. I have a feeling this location will try to pass by small charges and hope that nobody notices. Just pay attention!

Did not accurately provide services advertised. We made a reservation for the 24/7 service only to find out after an hour on customer service that this location doesn’t offer it. This created a significant disruption in our plans. The customer service agent was sympathetic and offered a discount but the manager at the Uhaul location the next day didn’t seem to care. The next morning he called me at 7am asking when I’d have the truck back. My original reservation was for 48hrs but somehow my new reservation was for 24. Why would I want to return the vehicle sooner when I got it 12hrs later than expected? I returned the vehicle within the 48 time frame and asked the associate to credit my account with the $50 deduction. She looked at it and said, “they’ve already added it”. I received the receipt 10mins later and they had not. I’m disputing the charge with my credit card company since I’m not confident Uhaul is going to make this right. Please note, this is the first time I’ve ever disputed a charge in my life.

The vehicle I rented had Battery and alternator issues. The Battery went dead 3/4 of the way thru my move --- it tool 2 1/2 hours for roadside repair to arrive and correct the problem. James - at the location was fantastic upon my return. He was pleasant, professional and thorough.

Central Square is a very tough area to pick up a large trailer particularly late in the afternoon, congestion is tough. It was not where I had requested to pick up.For that reason I had reserved a 5x8 rather than a 6x12. I was called beforehand and assured it was in Central Square. When I got there I was informed that they had just given my 5x8 to another customer which left me with the 6x12 anyway. Finally it was a long wait while the staff tried to figure out the paperwork.

Figure out if this location has TruckShare or not. I was on the phone for an hour, talked to 5 different people, and was told conflicting information multiple times before it was determined that I could not pick up the truck I had reserved. I should have been informed that I would be unable to pick up the truck after hours instead of showing up and wasting both my times and the time of my family and friends who offered to help me move.

This location was marked as having mobile pick up available and we selected it for that reason as we needed to pick the truck up prior to the time the store opened. The night before pick up, an employee called to let me know that they do not, in fact, have mobile pick up. After explaining that I needed the truck prior to 7 a.m., the employee offered to let me come in prior to opening to get the truck. All went smoothly the morning of and I very much appreciated the employee's willingness to work with me. The information regarding availability of mobile pick up should be updated, however, to avoid customer confusion and potential inconveniences.

I couldn't enter the building or garage, as this location uses a toxic cleaning agent, Fabuloso. With a history of anaphalaxis and the emergency room following contact with this toxic cleaner, my partner had to take over my reservation. When asked why I was not present, he told them I was allergic to the cleaning agent they used, to which the worker replied, "it's just fabuloso." As this cleaning agent was also used inside of the cab of the vehicle, we had to drive, in the rain, with the windows open and clothing covering my nose and mouth. My partner, who is not sensitive to smells, found this to be overwhelming as well. Will not be returning to this location.

There is no way for someone to return a trailer as the narrow street has cars parked on both sides, the U-haul parking lot is filled with vans & trucks and the garage door allowing access to the building for equipment return does not open automatically. So when you want to return a trailer (or a van) you would have to block the street, get out of your vehicle and try to find someone in the building to let you in. I was on the phone for about 20 minutes before I could get through to someone in the building to help me. It was a frustrating and potentially dangerous situation.
