This was my first time renting a UHaul. More explanation needs to be given to new customers about running the vehicle and a clearer explanation with a demonstration should be made about returning the equipment after hours so the customer is not confused about the location or requirements. After hour return information was not clear, and I feared being charged a fee for improper return. Also, my phone had died so it was impossible to do online return validation. Please make a written (or other) form of return that does not require internet access.ARIADNA L.

Customer service is abysmal if you could even qualify it as service, the individuals had no interest in talking on the phone or in person, reminded me 5 times they were closing in 1-5 minutes and that I needed to leave the premises. Rarely am I in need of a van or truck to move anything however after this past week I will not be using UHaul or the Cambridge location again.MARC P.

Stop over charging for a cleaning fee , honestl it's really cheap of a company to charge 25 dollar to a customer because they forget a single item and some dust , verbally remind customers that if you don't leave the truck spotless you will be charged a ridiculous amount for a task that took an Molly's less than a minute to complete . I rented for 24 hours, returned at night, 12 hours early. Parked in the designated area. Nobody told me to inform online at night. They charged me $20 extra as i did not inform online. I would never recommend anyone for Uhaul. Enterprise rentals are much batter with the policy.MOHAMMED K.
My friends and I arrived to turn in the truck at 650pm for a closing time of 7pm but the counter-person had me return the truck online which I didn't think was good customer service. Some people struggle using technology, don't have a smartphone, or just prefer to talk to a person when conducting transactions and that the employees should be available to assist their last customer until the end of stated businesses hours. Otherwise, the closing time should be 645pm. Everything else was good though.AUSTIN C.

The dollies and furniture pads that I had reserved two weeks in advance were not available when I arrived to pick up the van.Joshua K.
Staff was very friendly ,found out when I arrived that they had 0 blankets and I reserved 12 not good (got a $50 credit).Did not get a walk down of truck with staff they just left it running at exit.The link for vehicle info expired before having a chance to open it.The ventilation controls were stuck in position could not turn and the truck made a squealing sound when stepping on gas.Location was central to area which is good.Scott M.

I reserved a van with no indication that I might not get a van. The day before pickup I was informed they do not provide vans for one-way trips. I was very uncomfortable with driving a truck but I had no choice. I did not want to risk trying to maneuver a truck into a gas station to refuel, so I could not refill the tank, and the charge was $75 to replace the half tank I had used. I reserved a dolly, the agent in Cambridge confirmed this with me at the pickup, but no dolly was provided which made the move much more difficult. The latch to lock down he back did not work well, needs adjustment. I could not close it and had to ask someone stronger to help.PAMELABETH K.

This whole experience of me using uhaul was by far the worst. I had ordered multiple reservations at different locations, because the website says the truck I'm looking for is available. To then have reps call and tell me it's not available because driver doesn't want to drop off. I was offered an extra 100 miles over phone, but When I got to the store the message wasn't relayed to the store. If trucks aren't available try harder to make sure the system is updated. I had to drive from Boston to Plymouth twice because the truck I wanted wasn't available.ANTHONY M.
I made a reservation for a 20 ft truck. The day we were going to pick this up (2 hours before we were supposed to pick up the truck), someone from UHaul called and said the truck wasn't at the location and so I was left hanging. They offered a 15 ft truck, but where we needed to move planks from a patio we dismantled that were 16 ft long, these wouldn't fit and explained this to the lady on the phone. But this was like talking to a brick wall. The way UHaul handled this issue - without trying to help me really - was so bad that I will be sending a letter to both the CEO of UHaul as well as the Boston Globe and Boston Herald with details of how bad my experience was and where the issue was only partly that the truck wasn't there, but also that UHaul made no effort in understanding the huge problem they created, nor thus trying to solve it (the most important part clearly). That's what happens when a company has an almost monopoly in a market - their customer service becomes awful.Luis B.

I did a reservation for a 9Ft Van. However, then it was changed by a 10Ft Truck because Van was not available. When I picked up the Truck, I saw several Vans in the location ready available, but personnel did not offer it to me because I will return the vehicle in other location.EDGAR P.
The attendant was in such a rush that he said I would get a receipt via email, but he didn't read my mileage or inspect the vehicle or read the gas gauge to ensure it was full, until I told him I wanted him to do so and then I wanted a receipt to confirm that I hadn't exceeded the allowance and that my gas was full and that I didn't owe any additional money. When he agreed to check those things, he again said I would get a receipt but it didn't come through so I had to ask a different customer service person to print out a receipt for me from the computer.CADY G.
