The office person was friendly and professional. This is the second time we rented from this location and she did both of our reservations. When I returned the truck the fellow working in the return area outside was also friendly and energetic.
CHISTIAN UJust keep doing what they're doing, the equipment they had was in good shape and the employees are very friendly and helpful.

DA'VEON DThe simplicity & efficiency by the staff is amazing. I was in and out in a matter of minutes. The staff were friendly & communicative. The return process was lighting fast. I was greeted and tended to immediately upon entering the lot.
JAMES NOnly problem I had was locating the drop box , the store said it closed at 7 & wasn’t open when I returned & I had difficulty locating it
TAMEISHA DIt is not uncommon for UHaul equipment to be dirty on the outside when picked up, but that is not important to me. But the inside must be cleaned (especially the cargo area), and in general, this location does very well in that respect. The one shortcoming I often experience is that the windshield is not clean, especially on the inside. That is a safety issue, and it is frustrating.
PETER CThey charged me $48 for fuel even though I drove only 5 miles. I should have known they were planning to pull a fast one on me when they rented the truck with less than 1/4 tank of gas.

Neil FService was great, they accomdated us being a few mins late close to closing time! So thankful, lady at desk was very nice and quick to get us in and out with our trailer being it was late. The guy that helped hook it up was fast, friendly and helpful, same for the guy at return. The trailer was very loud and banged around when towing, the hitch was too big for the ball we had on our jeep and banged all around, thank god it had chains attached to it, we did mention it when returning it.

Uhaul had me drive around for 90 minutes to each location, one closed the other two did not have trailer. Last location had the trailer just returned when I arrived, still slightly dirty inside, but is mechanically great shape for a 1600 mile trip

EDWARD S | Expérience généraleThey didn't have the proper dolly. I was given an appliance dolly which was too heavy, too tall to make corners, and the lift platform was not big enough. Also, I reserved blankets. I picked up half the blankets and the representative said I would only be charged for half of the blankets, but in the end I paid for all of them
TIM JTWO tire blow outs within ten minutes of each other while going the speed limit stated on the tow dolly (55 MPH) U-Haul was no help in the process of trying to get a new dolly because clearly the first one was not inspected before releasing it to us. Both roadside assistances were more than an hour wait. Never again!

CHAD DThe 1301 Monticello Ave location in Norfolk provided outstanding service and assistance for our recent UHaul trailer rental. We reserved our trailer for a different local location, but our confirmation call the day prior to our rental informed us that our preferred location wasn't available and that our pick-up would be handled at the Monticello Ave location. This is a large UHaul Center and was very clean, well organized and safe to navigate through with trucks and trailers. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable and responsive. I will definitely use them again in the future.
Robert LThe process was effortless and scheduling was convenient on line. Even received an email giving us a free day if we picked the truck up a day early. In the end, it worked out great and we started packing earlier than anticipated.

Stephen BI have been renting trucks from you guys for about 2 years now. I was pretty upset once I picked up my truck the gas tank was on E for empty. When I know as a renter you are supposed to return with gas in tank.

CHAD M | Expérience généraleThe entire storage facility needs to either be torn down or completely renovated. The ceilings are falling and the building is just old and crumbling. The floors that claim to be climate controlled are barely cool. The elevator was down for weeks(resulting in me paying more for moving help) and there's only one way to enter the upper floors. The manager tries to assist but the other office workers are very unpleasant. The workers that assist with the trucks are very nice and helpful. Overall, the storage spaces need to be renovated for there to be any future for this location.

The elevator, the only one, was inoperable, and staff said it would be weeks before it would be fixed. This made it ridiculously difficult to move items out. Ownership should be discounting fees during this time. The only access is a very steep and narrow set of steps to the 3rd floor, good luck if you have any large items. And, there is never any carts available. Just save yourself the trouble and go to another facility.

Once checked in, we got no instructions on how to access the unit, that we needed to generate a code, where the unit was, and that the unit was actually a 6X8 unit, not 8X8. We had to pay hundreds of dollars while movers waited around. We will be adding more items in a week or so, and may need the extra space we contracted for. I'd appreciate a call at 919-819-2786

I went more than 3 times to report the issue to employees who told me the situation was going to be reported but apparently nothing was done. Not until I went back and the manager was there and she was able to fix the problem and personally called me when it was fixed.

Norfolk did not realize that they even received our uboxes. This was an three week inconvenience and costly miscommunication on U-Haul behalf.

I asked staff member if he could note the account on 01/302023 was told yes and found out on 02/06/2023 that no note was left on the account and account wasn't closed until 02/06/2023.

I wish somebody would have taken note that I had bought a storage unit and a van, with a return time on the van being after access hours, and that they would've mentioned "hey, here are our access hours" so on and so forth. Instead, I was left confused pushing every help button (which didn't work) and calling every number (with no answers). I ended up having to take all my stuff back to the place I was leaving. Some of my stuff is still in the apartment, some was shoved into my car, some had to be left outside. It was an exhausting, frustrating, and disheartening experience. I want to be kind because I understand how difficult a job in this field can be but I'm upset about how poorly this went.

Yvonne L | Expérience généraleWhen arriving, a finger point was all the direction we received for finding the unit. Once arriving to my unit the lock was not present, like the reservation stated. On the first day of moving things into the storage, the lift was not working functionally. We asked an associate, who was very helpful, but she could not get it to work either. The general manager was agitated and dismissive in conversation, as if we were inconveniencing her day. Will not recommend nor will my husband and I be using u-haul again for our moving essentials.

PAT M | Expérience généraleThere was a foul odor in the unit and the entire building. The unit was poorly maintained and inconviently laid out with narrow dark hallways leading to the unit. They staff provide unclear direction to where you could find the unit. And when I raised concerns about the state of the unit I was told they were all like that. They also are indoor units that have mice. I just asked for a refund because the unit was so poorly Kept. I will stick to just using the trucks because the storage facilities are not up to par.
