The pictures of the rental unit on file was old from maybe in the winter so several months ago. There was damage not noted and the pictures were when the vehicle was dirty and covered in snow. The stereo system was set to loud when turning over the ignition and smelled like a urinal cake. The line up was to long waited an half hour and last time was almost an hour. Returned the vehicle at 8:30am and not after 11am the fuel amount recorded was different from the pictures I took of the fuel gauge when I returned it.ADEM K.

Didn't appreciate the drop off change by head office as it was requested to drop it off 400 km away from destination. We came to an amicable solution and everyone was happy.MARTEN K.
The truck was almost empty at pickup, we had to stop almost immediately to fill up. The truck was clean but there was an alarming noise coming from the front passenger side, especially during breaking. I was overcharged for mileage, even though I flagged the issue at pick up and upon return of the vehicle. I was able to resolved the issue, but I was on hold with U-haul for over an hour (the location I rented from didn't answer the phone multiple times). Overall, not the best experience...MICHAEL H.

we were told that the electrical outlet was a 4 pin and would need adapter for our 7 pin trailer. uhaul did not have the adapter as we were told and after an hour or more of running around from place to place looking for one we had to give up the idea of getting our trailer home. when we went to get the truck we did notice it had a 7 pin connection. we went inside to inform the staff and were told only that specific truck (from Arizona) had the 7 pin. we went out again to get the truck and notice every truck had 7 pin connectors. would have save us a lot of time and stress had the staff been educated properly on the inventory. otherwise our expeciences with uhaul have been great. thanksJOHN I.

Online booking provided no advantage whatsoever, still had to wait in a long line to pick up keys and was 30 mins late as a result. Online platform reserved the wrong vehicle too (right class of vehicle, just the wrong one that wasn't actually available), staff didn't know how to shift the vehicles. If you reserve and complete all the online check-in their needs to be some way to expedite the pick-up process. Especially when just getting a trailer vs renting a truck, etc. Took 45 min with 9 people in line and two people working the check-in.David R.

I tried to do the online book in, but it would not let me. I tried 4 different browsers. I then went in to the Uhaul depot in person and the person there would not register me and told me to come back on the day of the booking. Kelowna location understaffed at the front end so the process is rushed. In my situation, the after hours key drop was never mentioned so I locked it inside the truck fully expecting that they would have an extra one. They didn't but manager got it open. The online customer service takes far too long to get help and when I tried to verify my return, they were no help and referred me to the same number I just called. So I had to drive down to the store and do the paperwork as it would be faster than waiting all over again ( over 20 mins the first time). There is no one at the local branch to answer the phone although I heard it ringing. I gave my rating of â€œabove averageâ€ because front end people were doing their best but you need to start hiring more people!HAROLD P.

There was a huge lineup & 1 person serving customers inside. She was inexperienced & slow. People in front of us gave her their address 4 TIMES. We booked online before we came....but still It took FOREVER to p/up the van we rented. The van also had a terrible odour inside which made us nauseous & we pointed that out when we returned it. We only needed it for a couple of hours to move a bed & didn't want to wait yet again for a different one because of the smell. The van was also not washed on the outside. There was a fellow who could have been more helpful inside and outside wearing headphones & listening to music ignoring customers. He did not help the woman at the counter in spite of the long lineup nor help us outside when we returned the van but yelled rudely at us that we were dropping it off in the wrong area and yelled at us to move it. It was soo bad from start to finish UNTIL a young man who could see we were upset at the end....stopped to talk to us & scanned the van back in and apologized for the situation. He was the only saving grace. Your staff is inefficient. They need better training in getting the customers in & out of your facility. They also need some communication training. Our rental was a 26' truck used to move from Kelowna to North Vancouver. The truck provided was an older vehicle with a poor suspension, loose steering, loud exhaust and terrible emissions. This truck should only be used for short/in town moves and not allowed on the highway for long distance moves. The Uhaul location was aware of our pick up and drop off location and should have provided a newer vehicle. There were newer vehicles on the lot during our pickup from Kelowna. Lesson learned, don't assume the truck provided is the best suited vehicle for your move. If you are moving long distance check the mileage and condition of your rental before you leave the lot.STEPHEN Y.

I was delayed in getting the keys to my new place so in turn I was late returning the truck. I tried calling to let the store know but stayed on hold for 30 mins before hanging up. I later received a call stating I would be charged 100 $late fee and we agreed I would have the truck back by 5pm. I returned the ruck at 4pm and upon return was told the late fee would be waived. I now have 2 late charges when the one was supposed to be waived. Also my invoice days nothing about a late charge let alone 2 late charges... extremely horrible customer service and very shady business practice. Will never rent another uhaul in my life.NICHOLAS T.

Access hours are unreasonable. Elavator in bad need of programming, doesnt stay open long enough. And is not set properly Level on second floor. I would think Hydrolic leak which is not properly fixed. Alarm's are not programmed properly. ( I go and open my locker, Close it and open again and Alarm goes off. Not Very Good at all. Alarms Go off all the time making it redudant, and useless. Nobody cares about alarms. They should be turned on only at night-time and a Security Officer should come not staff. Air Conditioning was not on at the srcond level making it unbearable this last week. And some of my antique Collection was littered with debris from maintenece cutting holes in the ceilling from leakage repairs. I have photo's to prove. The manager was very helpfull though. Both driver and passenger door did not close properly that could of lead to a dangerous situation. The staff did not provide me with any discount for this issue. The GM was oblivious to this being a potential customer concernGREG C.
The vehicle I ordered was not available (6wks in advance) so I had to take a smaller unit and then had to wait 30 minutes for them to bring me the truck. My move was delayed and I tried for 40 minutes to call in and change my drop off time sat on hold the entire time. Directed to the website, no drop down for changes to my order. Total bull shit, but the flguy that checked my drop off was very good about it and did not charge me for the late charges (60 minutes) thank you, it's unfortunate that you have a monopoly and treat your customers like crap. Blamed for damage that I didn't do. The tire has damage after I returned it and if I had done it, the truck likely wouldn't be able to drive. AND We bought the extra insurance and we're told that it covers everything except roof damage. Lies. Now they want us to pay for something we didn't do and lied about the extra coverage. The truck was very clean . Only thing was the air-conditioning did not work and we had +43 . So it was really hot to be driving. When they do there inspections . Maybe try not to cut corners. Check list is there for a reason Its better to dot ur I and cross ur t's. Next time it could be something more serious. But I will comment on the gentleman that was at the return area. As I told him the air conditioning didn't work . He was so helpful and understanding . I'd recommend kelowna u haul for sure. ThanxDARLENE M.

Customer service was not good - I had ordered a vehicle rental along with moving supplies months prior to the pick-up date. When I went to pick up the vehicle I was told the supplies were in the back (they were not) and when I returned to the location to pick-up the supplies I was told that some items were not available. Apparently ordering moving supplies online ahead of time does NOT guarantee they will be available and does not ensure the store puts those items aside. In addition, when we tried to sell back the unused boxes the store was unable to pull up the records that I had purchased moving supplies (despite having a Uhaul account with a linked credit card) and therefore refused to buy back our unused boxes.STEPHANIE G.

Lengthy line up due to only one staff member "present" at the desks, entry drive in door for loading was inoperable due to circumstances - which is fine - however this was not explained while at the desk - had to find alternate route on my own which ate up quite a bit of time. On day two of move in the elevator was down - which again is fine - however there is only one set of stairs that lead to the upstairs...??? No secondary elevator?? No second set of stairs? No estimate on when the repairs were going to be performed or completed. Furthermore, lots of individuals disregarding face masks - no staff to enforce mandatory mask guidelines. Lastly, they've so far charged me for my pre-authorized amount for my van rental, however, I used significantly less kilometers than I had estimated. Renting a truck is easy and convenient but storage with uhaul is not. It's overpriced, the access hours are inaccurate, the elevator and bathroom were gross, and they double charged my boyfriends credit card for his storage unit and then locked him out of it anyways(for apparently not paying). It took an hour to get someone to come down to unlock it while we were trying to move. Staff were friendly but they're clearly understaffed. Every single time we've gone to get something from our units in the 3 months we rented for, either the gate was locked early or the floors were being polished so we were denied access to our specific units. I don't know why they need to polish the floors so often but don't clean the elevator or bathroom. We pay close to 200 $EACH for our units and to be locked out 2 hours early after driving half an hour to our belongings is disappointing and frustrating. We can't even call to see if we would have access because it takes an hour long hold to reach someone at the store. Access clearly says online 5am to 10pm but gate was locked at 8pm, sometimes even 7pm. Truly disappointing 3 months.Bailey T. | Expérience générale

Guy at the counter clearly didn't want to be there. A young guy said he hurt his back and the manager decided to ignore the line up for a half hour while he filled out an incident report. Instead of just telling the younger man to sit and wait for hit while he saw to a couple of the customers he decided to make the customers sit and wait instead, at least one of who left. After Andrew left the Kelowna Enterprise way location everything went down hill and fast. A middle aged bald man who does hitch installs seemed to run the show. He was late rude and just started taking things way. Like my access remote which i PAY FOR MONTHLY. He just walked up one morning a demanded it. No explanation. Just an absolute jerk. His hygiene was poor and he RARELY WAS SEEN WITH A MASK ON. You could see his facial herpes as he demanded my access remote control. I frequently saw him sneaking cigarette breaks everytime he would issue a trailer rental. Just and awful man. He was short with my fiancée. We were very loyal customers. Were is the key word and we and encouraging everyone to move out of uhaul before they are abused too. The younger staff were quite accommodating and helpful. They deserve good treatment and praise. I inquired and told I would get a free month because I wanted to stay with uhaul and move my belongings to port moody location. Port moody would not honor it and your location would not give me the free month instead. It was noted on my file and still no employee would honor it. I was told it was for a free truck rental and not the unit. I however know this to false as I have also had a conversation with them at the call center. A representative was supposed to.call me last week and did not. I was mislead and lied to about the free month. I decided to just move my stuff to a different company's storage. I feel I should get my free month reimbursed. Second on a more serious note. I have informed health canada about your employees disregard of the mandated mask rules. First time I entered, I stood in line for 5 minutes or so. 3 gentlemen had no mask on, an employee in a red shirt, just had his mouth covered and was talking to another person on the other side of the glass, that seemed like an employee off duty doing some inquiring of his own with his mask off. I politely mentioned the masks, they all gave me an excuses of different reasons then put them on. I mentioned it was mandated and they agreed to that statement and apologized. Not acceptable from a national company. I cleaned out my locker and entered again to inform them and one of the same guys had his mask off again. I am sure corporate will find this highly unacceptable. Please discuss and set mandated orders at your facility. This letter is meant to not only state my grievance, but also to serve a a respectable reminder to please ask and demand your employees follow mandated health guidelines. We had issues with this facility from the beginning. One member of the staff initially refused to honor the one free month with a truck rental because we were renting two units after renting two trucks. He finally relented. After a poor review the manager contacted us and offered us a free month to make up for the hassles. New management came in and we had to fight again for that free month. We were told the new manager would call us. Two days went by and no call. Called again and were told manager would call us. No call ever came so we had to go in to the facility to make sure the free month was actually in place. When we moved out the young man behind the desk looked like he wanted to be anywhere but where he was and he had his earphones in and was tuning into his phone/music before he finished the transaction (receipt was printing). No one said "thanks for being a customer/using our services" or "we appreciate your business." I would never recommend this facilty to anyone. Go to Rutland - 1606 Findlay Road - where the staff are friendly, helpful and make you feel good about using the services. Dealing with uhaul has been incredibly frustrating. Each time we went or called it was a disaster and stressful. Or we were hung up on, or in the lobby with no staff in the building. Our movers ended up having to haul all our belongings from the storage down the stairs yesterday because the floors were being waxed. Do that on off hours. How ridiculous. Motor home storage was promised with electricity for trickle battery chargers. Plugs pulled out and sockets blanked off with metal plates. No warnings sent to owners. The service is terrible and slow. The units are gross and smell. There were homeless people living out of a unit by mine and it smelled horrible. The line ups are long, the staff moves at a less than urgent pace. They rented me two rooms by accident. They were out of locks to buy. They didn't walk us through how to sign in and sign out. There's no instructions or map. It took us 30 minutes to figure out how to get in, and another 30 mins to find the unit. Should put a floor layout map on each level. This is a hard review to write because the facility is great and offers a drive in, drop off experience that is perfect no matter what the weather. For the most part the staff are wonderful. Management is another story. We found the managers to be rude, profit motivated and difficult to deal with. When we moved in the facility was out of padlocks and asked us to use our own. We did. We checked back in a few days to see if the locks were in and they weren't. A few days later we received notice that our lock had been cut off and a UHaul lock installed on our unit. They took the time to send an email but didn't take the time to call us and let us know, instead choosing to ruin our perfectly good lock taken from our storage shed. This is just one example of the issues we had with the facility. We also had to fight to get our free month that came with renting a truck. We rented a moving truck in our former city and received a free month for that. When we rented a second truck from this location to finish up our move they absolutely did not want to give us another free month on a second unit. The manager was rude about it and very begrudgingly gave it to us. That said the staff we have dealt with in our daily interactions have been friendly and helpful.LeAnn B. | Expérience générale

We had a very negative experience with trying to pick up a trailer in Sparwood, the trailer malfunctioned and we couldn't bring all of our items with us. The managemebt was rude and unapologetic. When we arrived at Uhaul in Kelowna on Enterprise Way we were greeted with great customer service and support by a very understanding young man, which made up for the negative experience the day before. Staff are less thank helpful, and also beyond incompetent ... Given misinformation multiple times. Also was charged for this unit AFTER it was emptied and we closed the contract (or the staff told us it was closed). One woman there is competent, but the manager and front staff don't know what they are doing and have no people skills. When asked a question they don't know they sit and stare at you blankly until you walk away. Less than impressed and will be telling friends NOT TO EVER USE THIS LOCATION FOR ANY REASON. had the same difficulties while renting trucks from this location in the past. Staff need some sort of training and knowledge about the locations services BEFORE being put on the desk with no manager around. The male manager of this location gets beligerant and downright rude when we are attempting to clear up disputes caused by his staff's previous misinformation given to us. Front staff fantastic :) When I was unloading close to 8;00 pm the closing South Asian informed us that you closed at 8:00. The warning of your closure started at 7:30 then 7:40 then every 5 minutes until you closed.I understand you have hours of operation but I don't need to be on the edge of harassed.He was slowing use down with his constant interference. Regarding having our stuff in storage, the experience was good, the only issue is the u-haul charging me 2 units for the whole month of December when I used them for just a few days. 1 unit I used for 1 week in December after payment and the second unit for 3 days after payment. I thought I would have a refund for the remind of the month but I didn't. I paid the units online for December's month even thou I knew that we were using just for a few days, but that's what honest people do, pay their bills, right? However, the units are sitting empty now, u-haul took the whole monthly payment and will rent the same units and will make more money! That's the only issue that I have! At one point last fall there was a man living in the unit across from mine. I told the staff, and they did respond, but as a result my unit was ransacked by mice... Front office staff are friendly and helpful, but elusive. Not uncommon to stand in the front for 10 minutes without seeing a staff member, or to wait 20 minutes in a line to speak to one of them. On the flip side, every time I spoke to the GM (Andrew) I had a bad experience. He's a horrible little man with the wrong attitude for dealing with people, be they staff or customers. For two years in a row now I have been told I had storage for my boat. As I go to bring my boat in they say that my reservation confirmation was no good as the manager had just given ours places away. The fact that I got it resolved after hours of working on it myself and pushing the staff to get something done. Shows a lack of management and organizational skills. I feel that head office or corporate or whoever may have given all our spots away dealt with the customers extremely inappropriately. I believe for all the inconveniences and the sheer lack of trust your company shows. That they would give some kind of gratification or credit to the customer like myself. I am happy to be in the storage unit with my boat but by far had to work very hard to get it. The staff that was on site and Kelowna worked very hard to try and help me out. There were people living in units beside mine. My stuff was ruined and destroyed from mice because of the people living in the units beside me. When I signed up I was not asked if I wanted the protection plan. Then I was called a liar for saying that I wasn't offered the protection plan. I will be going to the papers in Vancouver Kelowna I'm going to go write the city. I believe people were going into my locker and stealing stuff because I am missing a lot of stuff. My main concern is the difficult access to the storage parking spaces in the warehouse. Very inconvenient to have to go into the office, line up, then ask someone to open the back door. When I first rented the storage space over a year ago, I was told that they would be putting in some kind of key fob or card access system. This never happened. The monthly storage was fine but I left because they are renovating the place and both of my car covers are totally ruined because they are caked on with dust and dirt... They are ruined and I need new ones. Second of all, the day I'm checking out, no one notices my wife and I and are 2 year old daughter are still in the compound getting our vehicle to leave and they locked us in. There is no one around to let us out as they closed with us still in the place! And you can't call anyone because you end up getting people in the states as they are an American company. From the start it was a bad experience. Was told one door code, tried it multiple times, didn't work! Waited for over an hour to get in to the storage unit. Was told we could go anytime and drop stuff off, wasn't true. Trying to call, is a nightmare. Get put on hold forever, then get hung up on. The workers don't seem to have a clue what you're asking or talking about, 3 or 4 people to actually understand. On move out I noticed quite a bit of mouse droppings in my storage unit. This was quite alarming to me as we moved from out of province and used your storage facility to keep our house contained basically. All our precious items were there and to know that mice were all inside and around our belongings, really made us very uncomfortable. Being in the food industry I am quite aware of "hantavirus" and it's effects to humans through inhalation of the droppings. We had to clean and sanitize all items that we took from the storage unit after finding the traces of mouse droppings. This took up a lot of our time. We were more than unhappy with this and when I asked your staff about it, they responded with "did you have insurance?".Unfortunately we did not purchase the optional insurance when renting the unit. We did not realize this was a problem and if I had known your facility was infested with mice, I wouldn't have done buisness there let alone bought insurance. Your staff needs to be better trained and perhaps educated on hantavirus and it's effects. To me insurance is for things like , theft, fire, floods. Not mice!! My vehicle was parked in the storage facility on Oct 16/19 to Apr 14/20. The storage space couldn't have been dirtier when I picked up my van. It is the dirtiest it has ever been since owning it for the past 21 years. Everything in that facility was covered with thick construction dust. Every customer that used/using this place deserves a refund or rebate for the treatment their vehicles have suffered. The owner should be ashamed of how their customers have been treated. I would like to talk to anyone from head office regarding my experience this winter. Last fall I rented a 40' space for my boat to be parked in over the winter as I do every year. I was delayed by a month to move my boat in my spot as someone else was using the spot to park in even so I had already paid for the space. Every time I went to check if the unit was ready it wasn't and in turn I paid for a month of storage 326 $and wasn't able to use the space. I asked the manager to let the people know that were parked in my spot that I would like them to pay for that month, he said he would look into it but he never called me back. Over the winter there was significant construction in the building and extreme amounts of dirt and dust in the building. Between my boat and my car I had just over 500 000 $worth of stuff in the unit which was completely covered in an inch of dirt and dust. I have a huge cleaning bill now due to the construction that was done inside the building over the winter it would have been nice to have been advised this was happening so myself and everyone else storing stuff could've made other arrangements or at least cover our possessions up to avoid this mess.
