Problem checking out the truck due to trainee and a system that was messed up on the computer and when I returned the truck my bank account was charged twice for the rental. My bank account was charged on the day I rented it and the day I returned it. I've Used this site many times but I'll Probably be going to another site

Don't ever rent from Uhaul, use Budget, Penske, anyone but Uhaul

Javier V.I had reserved a 6x12 open trailer, however the jack stand was broken and wouldn't lower onto my hitch ball. This was inconvenient and something I felt should have been noticed when the equipment was returned by the previous customer. Customer service was excellent picking up and dropping off. Just disappointed the equipment I reserved wasn't functional.

Gordon G.Manager Sam was HORRIBLE. Sam seemed annoyed that I was there, and wasn't helpful at all. he seemed to be bothered that i was there to pick up. At California (drop off), they let me use an adapter to make the lights work on the trailer... Sam said "must be a california thing" and made me purchase a $16 adapter to use the trailer for 24 hours. When connecting the wires, he didn't check if the lights worked, simply connected it and said "you're all set" and walked away... NO SAFETY CHECK. Prior to that, Sam asked me if i wanted a cover on the box (the orange branded Vinyl cover with plastic top)... when i asked "do i need it?" Sam said "well, if it rains and your stuff is in it, it can get damaged"... if this is why there are covers, why would he even ask? isn't it policy to put covers on? After Sam Walked away (without performing the safety check) i walked around the trailer to do my own safety check, and the Vinyl cover was NOT attached or closed properly... it would have flapped in the wind had i not closed it properly. while driving home, the trailer made lots of BANGING noise... i assumed it was just the trailer bouncing on the hitch, but the Landing Gear was down on the back of the trailer, so it was dragging and banging every bump on the road when trying to open the box, it was bolted shut. i had to find tools to open it. i had them, but being informed that it was closed with more than the latch/lock that i had put on it... quite a surprise. when returning the empty box, Sam was equally as unhelpful. Sam was disconnecting the trailer, and walked away without saying anything... when questioned, he said he was going to get a Dolly to move the trailer... but the trailer was already 100 % disconnected. seemed annoyed that i was there dropping off. this location is full of LAZY AND CRANKY people.... nobody seemed interested in helping me... and seemed to resent the U-Box program... I would NEVER recommend this location. Everyone should AVOID this location if possible. Uhaul is usually a great company, but Sam pretty much ruined it for me.

Gordon G.I ordered a 20 foot truck 3 weeks ahead of time then on moving day no 20 footer available was upgraded to a 26 foot truck. The 26 foot truck was too big to fit in my driveway so I had to park across the street and carry a 3 bedroom house full of furniture across a busy rd to load my truck. Then they wanted to charge me an additional 20 dollars to put my car on a tow dolly. I will never use uhaul for my move again. Wen people order a truck 3 weeks in advance it should be ready to go on move day at the selected location. Major inconvenience.

I had to pay the movers a minimum of 2 hrs which cost me $600 and to add insult to injury when you provided the truck the next day. I get to the city I'm moving to only to find out you double booked my storage and it takes was given away because I was late. You are a joke. I will NEVER USE YOUR SERVICES AGAIN. So if you want to improve stop stressing your managers out putting them on the front line knowing what you are doin is wrong and unethical services. Seriously

The person checking me out also complained about the number of customers coming to rent when he wasn't talking to somebody standing beside the checkout area. I would not use them again.

Kim S.this location was ok, but we had scheduled to pickup at East Ridge and i only knew because i stopped at ER the day b4 and they told me i would have to pick up downtown, then as i was on the way downtown i got a text and a call to pickup at hixson!!! hixson location did not have dolly and the man that waited on me smelt strongly of alcohol from the night before and was busy sipping extra hot coffee as he slowly waited on me. they all seemed very unsympathetic to all the changes uhaul made us go thru after i had already scheduled over a month in advance and then i had to go back to the East ridge location again to get the appliance dolly! i was given some extra miles but i feel this was highly unacceptable and i should have been compensated by a discount off my bill. we were moving things out of state and all this delayed our packing till after lunchtime when we originally began by 8am! I am very disappointed and since verbally expressing my disappointment many have told me of similar issues....i hope uhaul can make a better name for itself in the future, because i am very hesitant to use them again or recommend them!!!

Also, there was a major miscommunication on how we were supposed to get our u boxes delivered to our home which was a huge inconvenience

Amanda G. | Expérience généraleMy experience was frustrating as I made a reservation a couple weeks prior to moving but then, on moving day, after driving 10,5 hours from D.C., when I called to confirm the reservation I was told there was no space available. I went to other U Haul locations around Chattanooga to try and find storage but all were full. I ended up going to this location to see if something could be worked out. Upon arrival, I spent 15 minutes waiting for someone to show up at the desk and when they did they had headphones on, spoke shortly to me, and gave an overall rude reception. I explained the situation and they repeated the same story I heard on the phone. I insisted that there must be some space because another U Haul location (Broad Street) had reported that this location (Hixon) was only at 90 % capacity. The individual then had us walk through the entire first floor of the storage facility where there were, indeed, available storage units. I guess they had just been unwilling to get up and look themselves before. Despite the situation being "technically" resolved, I was very disappointed in the lack of customer care and professionalism that was demonstrated and unfortunately, my perception of U Haul has diminished after this experience.

I said wow i didnt get any kinda notice or warning. And also, with the shortage of trucks on the weekend, i couldnt get a reservation until 5:15pm and i had to move a little the same day and the rest the next day. All of this occured because of the facility closing at 7th. When asked why the facility changed hours, they're only response was because people dont know how to act. Didnt really understand that but i dont feel i should've had to suffer because of someone's urge to break the law.

Not to big of a deal because the Chattanooga location is amazing and always helpful! The drop off for our truck was in Athens Ga and that was terrible. The curly headed girl behind the counter had no clue what was going on. She told us to park the truck under the green tent and give her the keys. I asked several time if that's all that needed to be done she said yes. We dropped of the truck on Sunday at 4:45. A day early. I was called literally 5 times since Monday people asking where the truck was. I explained that we dropped it off Sunday and everything, my husband also had a conversation with someone as well. I will never use the U-Haul in Athens again. They have no clue what they are doing.

Robert R. | Expérience généraleI rented an 8x8x8 on the second floor for $84,95/mo. When I arrived I was informed there was no elevator, only stairs and I had heavy items. Nothing in the rental process indicated a lack of elevator service at the facility. The staff found a storage unit on the first floor that was 12 x 8 x 8 and I was quoted a price of $104,95/month. I agreed and when accessing the location, the ceiling was barely 6' high, not the 8' advertised. Ok, and when I checked out, I noticed a sign advertising that size locker at a rate of 124,95 and when she rang it up, it came up as 129,95/mo. When I asked the question about the difference in what she quoted, the sign, and the computer she yelled at me for asking the question and threatened to cancel my reservation. I explained that, as a customer, there were three conflicting amounts and all I did was ask a question. She then said, "that's what the computer is printing out, I can't do anything about that. Overall a very negative experience.
