The trailer came loose from my truck while driving on the highway. I am lucky the trailer did not flip my truck. I discovered that the ball was not properly fastened to my hitch. I called U-haul and was advised I did not need to have the trailer inspected and should keep on traveling. Very unsafe and disappointing.

People here have the WORST attitude. From the time I checked to when I tried turning it back in, nothing but attitude as if I had interrupted their cellphone time and test taking time. When checking in, no one came out to help. I went in and the guy at the desk wouldnt help me stating "Im taking a test. Check with someone outside. Go find someone out there." I went outside, the guy was on his cellphone. I greeted him and he asked if i had an email and credit card on file. I said yes, and he said, "Okay, thats it." And kept walking. I had to unhook my trailer, which wasnt a problem, I am capable, but no one would check it in. I had to call customer service to check it in. I returned a day early at 1030am. The trailer didnt get checked in until 430pm. What a bad location.

The gas was filled to only 1/8th of a tank so had to for gas for thst and it says it shouldn't be below 1/4 but besides that annoying part it was good

I arrived late evening and they wouldn't let me in the door. They finally did but then needed more payment and I had already prepaid online. Still no idea why I had to pay more but I had no choice. The guy at the counter didn't know the system and couldn't figure out what to do so he asked for help. The GM walked up and said he was off the clock so they would have to figure it out. Then, they couldn't find the key to the truck. The guy drove it around handed me the key, walked inside and locked the door. Never said a word to me. I noticed when I drove off that the truck had 3/4 of a tank so I noted it. Upon returning to the new location I made sure it had 3/4 tank when I dropped it off. The Alvin location called me thankfully and said my paperwork showed it was full when it was given to me which was untrue and that if I didn't fill it up the Beaumont location would charge me 100+ dollars. So I had to go pay more money to top it off. The Beaumont location also charged me for two days instead of one. I am owed a refund of one day, the additional 30 for over charge and the cost for a 1/4 tank of fuel. I am furious with the Beaumont locations service…

Well somebody needs to get on the phone with U-Haul ASAP and explain to them that when I got there they gave me a trailer that had a broken straps.So they had to replace both of them. So I pulled up to the bay door and waited while he put a new strap on then there was a broken bolt, and he had none with him so I had to travel 10 miles down to the road to m&D hardware while he went and picked another bolt up and fix the trailer. Something that should have took 10 minutes took me over an hour. That is an hour plus of my life I cannot get back. I have things to do why should I have to tag along to fix a trailer when it should have been fixed when I was there. Paid over 400 $to get the trailer to haul my truck to Florida. That's not including the 26-ft U-Haul we rented also to take to Florida. I'm very disappointed. My next move will not be with Uhaul. Even after that I didn't even get compensated. The very first rental agreement we had was so messed up they had to redo it to make sure it was right for the 26 ft U-Haul. On top of that I rented six of the blankets to wrap my TVs in. The very next day I got a call asking why I did not return them at 3:00 p.m. to the same place I just rented them from. I was like, if you look at the rental agreement we're going to Florida from Texas why would I rent the six blankets for a day. There needs to be some kind of serious change at the Beaumont location. I will be making a call to U-Haul tomorrow on my way to Florida to complain. We've already spent over 2 000 $renting from you guys and it's been a nightmare. The truck I reserved wasn't the one that they gave me because they couldn't find the keys and I was waiting for over an hour! Also the truck they gave me was smaller and no one brought my dolly out, I had to put it in the truck myself! Also when I returned the truck early and was supposed to have 50 miles free they charged me for the whole 81 miles used and I should have only been charged for 31 miles. 180 $for their mistake and no discount and overcharged!! This wasn't my first time renting from here and I've never had such a horrible experience. This will be my last time here!

Did not know I was gonna be charged an extra 20 $to drop off truck after hrs. All the staff did was point my to the key drop box. Never have had to pay to drop off rental after hrs. Very disappointed.

This process had minimal stress. Things that I want to note for improvement: 1. It would be nice when doing Mobile Pick Up if we could start the process of putting in our license and references into the system before arriving at location. The account would not let me, and it kept us waiting in the parking lot for over ten minutes waiting to be verified.

I do not like the fact they demand a phone number and then they CALL the phone number to make sure they know you. You already have my credit card and my driver's license. there is really no need to call and disturb a person's spouse or friend at work. I was once called at 930 in the morning to verify my husband after working a 12 hour overnight shift and just getting to sleep. I will start looking for a different place to rent from. I have rented in the past from Uhaul and this is the only location that makes me feel like im a thief before i have even rented.

I recommend notifying customers that an alternate contact needs to be available for a phone call when renting so arrangements can be made prior to standing at the counter at 8am on a Saturday.

When I arrived they only had one employee working. A second employee showed up after about 20 minutes. The paperwork mentioned an after hours return fee. I asked about it and the girl behind the counter said not to worry, they never charge that. She wasn't sure why it was on there. After I dropped the dolly off I got a call 2 days later asking where the dolly was. Turns out it was parked in front of the store where I left the same day after I was finished and they charged me the 20$ they said that they wouldn't... Overall not pleased

Check in and check out was slow and arduous. The employees did their job but the criteria and verification of two alternate contacts was slow after also waiting for 20 minutes in line. The truck was ok, not clean, not new and not very professional looking.

Truck had no ramp. Did not notice until I was at my destination. Called store and was on hold for 20 min. When they answered I began to tell them the issue and they hung up on me. When I returned it was a different crew and they said they were surprised the truck was even rented out. They still charged me full price. The reason I rent from uhaul is for the ramp. I could have borrowed a friend inclosed trailer for a case of beer. Will probably never use uhaul again.

Beware! My Uhaul box did not arrive at all, much less on time. This was a "guaranteed" delivery and they want to charge me twice what I originally paid because their fuel prices have changed. Some guarantee! The local site has not returned the three calls have made over the past 2 days. I cannot call them directly. This is the most egregious failure of customer service that I have ever experienced. Do not use them!

Went in to rent a storage space for my rv. I was assinged a spot and went to unload. A Uhaul trailer was in the spot. Walked back to the office and spoke to the desk clerk. He said he would be awhile because he had customers. He was the only person on duty. He should have told the customers he would be right back and moved the trailer. He didn't and said i could get a dolly and move it myself. When you wait on a customer prior to other customers you should take care of that customer. Period no excuse for his lack of service. Basically he let me know my problem was my own since he had already collected the money.

Although it was relatively minor damage, we did have one figurine break and one glass frame crack. It would have been better if the fragile items had been packed with bubble wrap and tape.

It was odd that I was not allowed to rent a box trailer without giving the number of a third party to call. Think about it. I'm a grown-ass man with ID and good credit. I can rent a car without involving a third party. I can get a loan without calling a third party. In fact, I cannot think of any other time since teenage when I ever needed a third party to do anything. Bizarre.

I was to pickup at 9. It took an hour of waiting. My truck size was not available. The smaller truck caused me to make more trips which cost more miles. They didn't have the furniture dolley either. Of course, the movers that I secured thru Uhaul had to wait 1,5 hours for me to checkout. It was not a good experience. The workers were pleasant.

The ONLY glitch was having to drive to another location to pickup our truck. With demand and shortages being what they are this summer, we were fortunate to have your employee take care of our needs. He is quite the asset in your Route 66 location. Was a true pleasure working with him.

None of the trailers had adapter for the lights. Me and another customer had to go buy our own. I did a night dope off so I left it there. I didn't want to hear any feed back the next day.

Rented a 26-foot truck. got it home to start loading and noticed that the tramp was missing. when I brought it back, the manager told me he knew it had no ramp. That's one of the points of getting a truck. UNACCEPTABLE.

This location on 3885 Milam street in Beaumont was great. All of the trailers were in top shape and the people working there were all very good. Originally, I was going to rent from the location on Eastex freeway in Beaumont. I reserved a car hauler and showed up the next day to pick it up. They told me 3 of the 4 car haulers had issues so they were going to give me the fourth one. That one had the front hold down straps ( that goes around the front tire of the car to hold it down) , they were so damaged that they were not usable. So I told them to cancel the contract. They did help me contact the other location to check on availability there .

I never ordered these containers and was charged for them for two months. I was told the first month that it was cancelled and I'd be refunded. I waited on hold for over an hour, talked to three people, emailed one person before getting a call back that now both months will hopefully be refunded. Completely unprofessional from every person I talked too with no accommodation or apologies. I can't afford these extra charges and yet here we are. I will be looking for alternatives the next time I need to move.

Make the process faster what is the purpose of online check in when it still takes over 45 minutes minutes to check in get the truck. The clerk did not check to see if there was a dolly available before finishing the checkout and I had to endure another 15 minute while she charge for another dolly then reverse the charges because I didn't want to pay for the more expensive one.

This was the worst experience ever. I had reserved a 6x12 trailer on July 3rd. for July 30th. Received confirmation that the trailer could be picked up at Milam location after 2. Got to the rental place at 3. They had no trailer for me. Told me there was not one within 50 miles. Had two poor girls there that told me they had been working there for less than 3 weeks. There were several customers there with multiple issues. People getting refunds ect. When the girl trying to help me reached out to her manager (Phillip Jarmon) he would not answer the phone. I called him from my cell phone and he answered. After explaining what was going on he said he was going to call the front desk (and he hung up on me). At this point I had been there for 2 hours trying to allow the girls to wait on other customers and in between try to resolve my problem. A customer came in while I was there and I saw that he was returning a 6x12 trailer. I told the employee that a customer was dropping off a trailer that I needed. After it was checked in she tried to release it to me but the system had kicked me out and was trying to book me for a 5x8 trailer the next morning. I told her that was not going to work of course. She understood and was doing what she could do to help me. After 2 1/2 hrs. I finally was able to get a trailer. It was after 9pm before I was finished loading it. I had reserved the trailer way in advance because I knew like myself, many parents would be moving there kids back to college that weekend. U-Haul should know this also. And U-haul and Phillip Jarmon should both know not to leave untrained employees to run a business without someone there that knows something. I will be posting this on Facebook, and any social media platform that I can find. And I will never deal with U-Haul again.

I was given a rental truck that was unacceptable by Phillip Jarmon, the General manager of the establishment. He said that he knew of the Lock of the drivers door was not functioning and he did not know that the door was damaged and was letting air and road noise into the cabin. I showed this to him and he told me to go inside. He ask me what I wanted to do. ( I could not believe what I was hearing!!!) I told him that I want another vehicle that would take care of my safety and my needs to complete my journey. So he set it up and let his personnel handle this situation. The gentleman was backing up the damaged vehicle to bring it to the new vehicle he had brought out. Darron SCREAMED at him thru his walkie talkie. Get OUT, Get OUT, GET OUT. He replied that the employee was not to get into the old vehicle because I had my (Quote) stuff. He said that he would not even transfer the utility dolly that was a Uhaul rented tool. I had filled the old truck up to above the full level 35,57gal. So he would not even transfer the Utility dolly. So it took me 45 minutes from the time I arrived to the time I departed. I asked him about the monies that I had just spent to fill the old truck. He said that it would be credited to my account when i returned the vehicle. I said that was needed to continue my trip for gas money. He said nothing he could do. The new vehicle was acceptable after going over it (the employee said that the black "X") were already addressed and I need not include in my inspections spending and extra 30 minutes for nothing. So, left distraught having to go to my daughters business to cool down collect my thoughts and cool down. Leaving and arriving 5 hours behind schedule. Finding out that there were only 5 blankets and I needed 6. Filling up three times in three different places made my debt card company to lock my account. Finding this out when I went to get a room to shower and rest so as to return to Beaumont. So, leaving at midnight traveling on, I stop at a roadside stop to sleep and be able to continue. 2 1/2 hrs. of sleep I needed to urinate badly and urinated on the outside of the vehicle and continued. Arriving home to unload. Having the movers back out and not have the time to take care of my unloading. A newly acquaintance passed by and help me. We unloaded the rest of the truck and I cleaned the interior of the cab and the rear compartment, put the blankets back in the case. Then the morning of Monday July, 26th returned to the Beaumont establishment where I picked it up at on Friday July 23rd. I entered the building to deliver the keys and he took the keys and walked outside. So I followed him to the vehicle and while he was taking pictures of the odometer I ask him, why he would do this to me on the first vehicle. He said he did nothing wrong and looked at me with a snobby grin and said and I quote "I didn't do anything wrong" he said that yes, he knew about the lock but that that particular truck was a rentable truck. I then told him "NO SIR IT WAS NOT" he said yes it was, I then I elevated my voice and told him that his demeanor and his attitude was not at all what a person of his ability's and stature of the company that he represented, should not be posturing himself in that manor. I walked away and proceeded to the checkout desk to receive my final bill. He returned and proceeded the checkout paperwork. I spoke to him directly apologizing about the confrontation that ensued outside. He said that that never happened. I handed him my credit card which was denied. I said that this bill is not something that I had calculated, so I told him that this bill would be address as soon as I could address the facts. So, he printed the document to send me down the road. Not saying thank you for your business, I would not tolerate and employee treating there client in this manor. So, doing research on Monday I proceed to calculate the charges and address the payment. Tuesday I contacted Uhaul and the original lady transferred me to Marsha, she had a hard time finding my account. I noticed that the receipt was in Arthur Halter address 115 Pecos st. Glen Rose Texas 76048. Arthur E. Halter Jr is my name and all my transactions address in this manor as my Name, Address PO Box 2226 Nederland Texas, 77627. So, I Paid the bill thru my bank card and all is complete. I have graved reservations about Uhaul Beaumont Texas. My dealings with Mr. Phillip Jarmon are reserved. As lifetime U-Haul customer I was shocked at the tone and condescending phone conversation Donald had with my wife. We had to extend our rental by two days as we were in Michigan's Upper Peninsula looking for a new home. When we extended our rental on July 22 there was no mention of the time the equipment needed to be returned, note this was a 19 day rental to look for our retirement home and what time said equipment "needed" to be returned was not a concern. I paid through Sunday July 25 and to us that means close of business on July 25 at 5:00pm. Donalds attitude and tone with my wife, whom he called on my phone and answered by the hands free of our SUV, almost caused me to wreck or pull over. He started the conversation with "your rental was due at 8:00 where are you"? That quickly moved on to when will you get here and we close at 5:00. This is where I jumped in and stated, " it's none of your business where we are, we are grown ass adults and do not talk to us like children. When I arrived, after starting our drive in Sikeston, MO at 5:00am to arrive before close of business. Donald first denied he was on the call but then admitted he was and became very aggressive stating it was his business and took what I feel is your core value of customer first and treated me like a third class citizen. I do not want to hear from the Mgr of that location, as I stopped using that location several years back for your other location, due to BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. If this is not important to the district or area mgr, there is no help for your company in Beaumont, Tx.

I have used Uhaul serveral tines before, i like climate control because it preserves my stuff better. When i moved the place was not dirty. My three main complaints are the storage thermostat said 85 degrees . The exit door at the end of the hall, emergency not the glass door there is a huge gap between the floor and the bottom of the door that air is escaping which contributes to the problem. Now on to the glass door it is broken falling off the hinges literally. The lock n key was in the storage when i arrived which was great! However the storage it self has insulation hanging down from the ceiling in my unit. So when we open the door the particles fly and guess where it's landing yes on the items I stored. I got locked in the gate because it was broken my code not an interning customers code was i for 15-20 minutes, i pressed the intercom and no on answered after several times I tried. . This was upsetting mostly because i couldn't get anyone on the local line or on the customer service . I'm just not use to no customer service like this. Additionally the young lady on the 1800 # was very apologetic and I did appreciate that. She said " I'm very sorry this is not the experience we want you to have with Uhaul" ( she made the difference for me, i was really frustrated) and proceeded to transfer me to another department to handle my complaint. I held on another 10 minutes and I just hung up because that was an extra 30 minutes taken from me moving. I had people helping me. I went back to storage on yesterday and my code didn't work again, so i had to sit in the line and wait till someone could look up my information, i understand that part bUt it really does negate the whole check in not having to wait issue. The young man did give me a card which worked and i did appreciate that . Never the less i am dissatisfied with my unit! I will be moving when my month is over, i don't pay to get insulation particles on me or my stuff nor do I pay for my belongings to be the same temperature as the none climate control. Oh n I never had to sign in at the building ( when entering) so safety is also an issue, just drive your car up and the glass door opens up no code needed. I'm really concerned about this!!

Units flooded- was given a brochure as Contact info for damages. It was not the correct brochure. Items were placed in a storage box and sent to Louisiana. Tried to retrieve box three months in a row. Each time they told me it would be there in two weeks. It was not. I paid 100s in extra storage fees. Customer service over all was rude and dishonest. This did improve the last 60 days.

The woman working Saturday around 1PM (i-10, Bmt TX) was very slow in processing the long line of customers because she was training another employee. She didn't acknowledge any of the 7 people waiting while she came and went checking in and out one customer at a time. More staffing would have been ideal on a busy Saturday. After checking in my rental thoroughly and explaining everything and adding personal experience stories to her trainee, she said I was done. I took that opportunity to tell her there was no toilet paper or paper towels in the climate controlled facility(that I just spent 3 hours moving into). She laughed it off while saying her housekeeper was off today. She then went back into the office. I walked past an overflowing trashcan in the parking lot to my ride only to hear how rude the woman had been to my friend waiting for me in the parking lot and to another potential customer. Everyone that I had encountered prior to the this woman did an outstanding job handling my account, from picking up in lake charles to the multiple phone calls I had to make to find storage an hour away from where I need to be due to the losses in our hometown area. I had to pay extra to move and store my items due to the hurricane decreasing availability. A wrong turn upon arrival put me short in gas and over in milage beside being late w the truck. I'd expect the facility to be properly staffed and maintained. I also had a lot of problems with app account...I wasn't able to use it hardly at all. Thank you for your time, Heather LeJune
