Took me over two hours to get a trailer
I wouldn't say the truck was well maintained. The door allowed rain water to fall inside the middle of the truck onto our furniture due to faulty weather stripping. The physical location of the building was fine. The truck was clean, but wet inside before we ever drove it.
Despite confirmation from Customer Service representative (Patricia) related to 10% discount, the Milam store indicated that they could not honor a discount because it was not indicated in the system. Manager (Philip) also refused to offer 10% discount on his end as well. Also, much more to my U-Haul experience from the day prior at 8161 Easter Frwy store also in Beaumont, TX where inexperienced staff were unable to install a hitch ordered from U-Haul website hitch on my vehicle and I never received a phone call from Regional Mangers (Alisa Bernard or Jerry Bowden) to discuss a realistic solution.

CSA was rude and misinformed me of other charges.
When reserving a auto transport online I put in all the correct info for the vehicle being towed after driving two hours to the rental location U-Haul did not have the trailer nor do they make a trailer that vehicle would fit on So instead I had to rent a tow dolly and pull a vehicle that has been sitting in a field for eight years for 2 1/2 hours

NOT QUOTE EXPECTED PRICE AS 20.00 + 2.00 PER MILE ( FOR IN TOWN TRUCK RENTAL , SMALL JOBS ) AND THEN AFTER 3 HOURS , A VERY MINIMAL DISTANCE ( WHICH TOTALLED LESS THAN 6 MILES ) , ADDING 20.00 WORTH OF GAS MORE THAN THE TRUCK HAD INITIALLY , AND BEING TOLD BY EMPLOYEES THAT THEY ARE OWED ABOUT A HUNDRED DOLLARS - I WAS APPALLED BY THOSE THINGS MUCH MORE THAN I WAS WAITING IN LINE IN THE ' MAIN 'ROOM TO RECIEVE SERVICE FOR NEARLY AN HOUR - DESPITE THERE BEING MULTIPLE EMPLOYEES WORKING THE FRONT AREA -
My original reservation was for pickup in Vidor, but the people who rented the tow dolly befor me didn't return it to Vidor. I was made to go to Beaumont to pick it up. I told them I would drop it in Vidor where my original reservation was scheduled and I got charged extra because NOW it was an one way rental! Not cool....

Customer service means everything to me and I was not disappointed
I had several issues with this location. First it was my understanding from the individual that checked me in that if I stayed under 100 miles that I would not have to pay any mileage, as it was included in the rental fee. Imagine my surprise when I checked in that evening with the truck and it was under 100 miles that the individual checking me in tell me it was going to be $110. Instead of the $2020.00 plus tax that I was expecting for just the rental of the vehicle because I stayed under 100 miles. My second issue came when I went to pick up my rental for today which is Sunday December 20th. First, they ask me for two additional contact numbers as opposed to the one that I gave on the previous rental on Friday they also took my picture and then told me that I could not use my debit card to rent the vehicle I had to use a major credit card. Mind you this is the same debit card that I used on rent the van on Friday. There is a breakdown in communication between your customer service representatives. Also, a lack of knowledge on the correct procedures and what is supposed to be collected from the customer when they check in. And the mileage needs to be explained a lot better than it was to me on Friday. Also, the lady that checked me in Friday night was extremely rude and the people there this morning All they could do was keep reiterating the fact that I have to have a major credit card and the other person should not have done that on Friday and allowed me to use my debit card. There was nothing like, well let me get a manager and see if there's something I can do. Because also they wanted to move me to a larger box truck and that is something one, I did not need that much room and also, I didn't want to incur additional charges. So, because of this I will not be recommending nor will I be renting from your U-Haul location again.

Phil need some help n some training
When I dropped of this rental around noon I was informed that it was not the location per the agreement. This lady informed me to call the phone # and request a change of drop off location. I called and the lady on that phone # told me that this was a local (Houston) rental. I don't know where the disconnect is or was but since she did not wave the $30 transfer of drop off location I will not be using U-Haul again. Sad to say that you lost a customer of over 25 years over miscommunication on both our parts.
This is my U-Haul truck twice in a month, but the air conditioner has problems both times. The first time there is no cold air conditioning , the second time, the heater and the cold air conditioner both have problems. Fortunately, the engine is strong enough to allow me to travel all the way from Texas back to California.
After being lied to about the availability of a truck here in Beaumont, I was lied to about a reservation for a truck two hours from here. It wasn't until after my son and I drove there and spent 1/2 an hour trying to get YOUR app to work, then spent another 45 minutes on the phone waiting for a human to get on the line, was I informed that no such reservation exsisted. I was looking at my confirmed reservation on my phone while I was being told that I did not have a reservation. That was lie #3. Then, while standing in a sea of trucks in the freezing weather, I was told that there was not a single truck there. Lie #4. Then all of a sudden, a small ten footer appeared. I needed a 26 footer. So I asked about a trailer. Again, I am standing in a sea of them and am told that there was not one there. Lie #5. I was told that I would be credited for all the extra miles I had to put on that truck due to the distance that I had to drive to get it. I'd like to see a breakdown of the charges AND the credit given me. That was the worst experience I have ever encountered with a rented truck. From now on I will seach other alternatives when I need a moving van. Please feel free to contact me.
Explain the charges.. it ended up being 40 bucks more than I anticipated in paying
Have the reserved equipment available, make sure the interior light works, and especially make sure there aren't two bald tires on the truck. We had a blow out on the highway due to bald tires. Luckily no one was hurt.
Looks as if he was a 1 man show there. There was 1 man working, and he had lots of things going on. I did have my pickup scheduled at noon, so maybe everyone was at lunch, but he was busy.
My issue isn't with the uhaul facility. It's with the Uhaul system. Process of advanced checking in due to covid to speed up the process is a joke. Because when you arrive they ask you everything you just put in online. Also the list of available drop off locations need to be updated.
The service was excellent I don't see anything that needs to be changed keep up the good work
