First of all, we rented a 10 foot truck and a tow dolly. We paid upfront for both pieces of equipment. We left loaded our truck, when we got back to the Kanis location three hours later to attach the tow dolly with my car they had rented our tow dolly to someone else. We spent the next four hours of our day trying to get them to help us. They rented out the tow dolly that we had already paid for. We wasted miles and gas going back-and-forth to the Kanis location. Worst experience I've ever had with UHaul. They complained their Internet did not work and they could not help us. The third time we went back. One of the workers was smoking a cigarette and hid around building when she saw us pull into the driveway. They complained their Internet did not work and they could not help us. The third time we went back one of the workers was smoking a cigarette and went and hid around the building. It was clear and apparent. They did not want to help us figure out a solution for the problem which they caused. On our third visit to the U-Haul on Kanis there was a note on the door that said the phone service was not working and the Internet was down. We finally got through to someone on the phone that was able to help us. Melissa Porten. She sent us to the Warden Road UHaul so we could get a tow dolly as we need to be in Florida by a certain time. Veronica at Warden Road informed as they were able to do anything they could to help us via their telephone. So again it was clear and apparent. They did not want to help us figure out a problem that they caused. We had a reservation for at least three weeks. The day started out with someone in reservations. Sending us to a store that was closed to pick up our truck. All-around terrible experience. This review is strictly for the Kanis UHaul Location

Opened dispute, but location's manager didn't even bother to double check the gauge to see their employee's mistake. Just rented it out again and told me tough luck.

I was charged for Safe Moving insurance although I clearly indicated on the information pad when picking up the truck that I did not want any additional insurance provided by UHaul. I even discussed this with the employee renting the truck to me. Also I reserved a 10' truck in advance but when I arrived I was told the last 10' truck had been rented and there were no more available on the lot. I had to go with a larger truck at additional cost.

Pariom J.I have worked as a District Manager for a major retail clothing store for almost 20 years. The customer service at the Kanis location in Little Rock, AR was the worst service I have ever encountered. The 3 employees who were working the counter attitude was deplorable. They talked to the customers very disrespectfully. It was an African-American young man, a young Caucasian man, and a middle age Caucasian woman. I stood in line for almost 30 minutes. Then I was told my truck was not available because I was late. I reminded him of how long I was in line as well as the other 5 people. When I first entered, there was only the African-American young man working alone. When I asked the other young man where the truck was located, he said around the building, very dismissive. When I arrived to the truck it was the wrong one. I had to go back in. He said I was wrong. Needless to say he was incorrect. He went around to the opposite side and found the truck. When I returned the truck there was another African-American young man who greeted me and took care of my check in that was around 5:00pm or 5:30ish. I will never use this location again. Those other employees need a lesson in customer service.

Andrew J.Unprofessional staff on day of pickup. Van had clearly not been cleaned with sand and dirt in the floors and seats. Warning lights saying the air bag and tire pressure systems need attention flashed the entire trip. The tires were uneven making it a rough ride. Really poor experience.

Kay S. | Online Move InI was assigned a unit that I did not have access to. There were extra trailers and U-Haul equipment in the way. We had to go inside and asked someone to move it even then there were cars parked in the area which made it almost impossible to reach my unit. If we cannot access the larger units, why even assign them to anyone? I am upset only with this location on Kanis, U-Haul in general has been good to me in the past especially the location on baseline in Southwest Little Rock. It has lots of space to unload, With nothing in the way. I needed something closer to home so I picked the Kanis location but I should have just driven the extra miles.

I paid for a controlled climate purposely to avoid this but ended ip with mold and mildew anyway. I am highly disappointed that this happened even though I paid for the controlled climate unit. These irems now myst be replaced.

hours or an hour from smoke break and they put out the cigarette to run in and you pull up into a handicap spot because my hang tag showed inside my truck but no one came to the back until I had asked a young African American to move the other truck to as well because we were trying to get as much as possible out my storage and that young man helped to move every piece carefully as possible so as not too make much movement because somehow things had shifted and I knew who used my code only me unless given access by me but I had to be there to physically put it in by night or day…which is why I chose your largest outside unit @management…Mr Chris…I was your client in the full size unit that held the most furniture because of CoVid I was immediately released to go home to NLR because I lived in town about 30 minutes from campus I packed what I could until Augustnand I moved completely with your biggest truck and a one way reservation to Little Rock but we got there late at night but I knew my instructions really well..and the lock I bought at the Uhaul @ pickup of truck somehow didn’t get put o one no more than the 2nd evening I was notified that there was no lock on my unit and truly there was a busted blue lock left open & hanging on barely to all my precious so I hoped everything was okay and carefully put a new lock on… and it’s still in my truck from that day to this and Mr Chris I know you read poor or good reviews this one is bitter sweet because I lived the 25 access when I learned immediately to follow the assigned path cause 24 clearance I support the payment and you keep the film footage and if you roll them back to the Wednesday before thanksgiving a young man by the lady name of “Chisholm” assisted me and the ladies sat inside never came out to see what was going on nor did they answer the phone as I drove all the way to my storage because my brother in law was frustrated because of a disability( veteran tags disabled due to back he couldn’t go back and forth because he waited for me and came to the truck and I stopped at the kiosk as they’d told him and I peered thru the glass quickly to see one person being assisted which was a white lady getting immediate assistance and one black guy who saw me looking in and felt uncomfortable 🥴 as he turned away his glance…so I bloated my horn because I knew it was a holiday and it was two young ladies at the desk who’d look or listen to the phone and not attend to anything or anyone outside those doors black or white make nor female….which one younger and very cute woman a little chunky but was very kind because she saw all of my broken pieces of antique furniture broken and busted laying on the ground and also I taped everything I didn’t submit it because my heat had gone out in my home and I was displaced so I was fighting my health because of a second major knee surgery torn meniscus…and as I lay in the bed I’m trying not to cry anymore over the loss of furniture that can’t be replaced be cause I so carefully moved and wrapped everything I could in Russellville as my younger brother 6’4 at least 309 prior to CoVid 29 status which he caught almost twice because he’s a very hard worker but suffered from undiagnosed sleep apnea , back log that killed so many as they waited in line with the VA to get their treatment for back that got thrown out because you’d fear nothing to jump out of a plane and hit the ground running if your bands of men by blood 🩸 or not and you took an oath as I do now as well every time I testify as a expert witness I mute the phone and let the courts no my status in advance because the knee pain started as I started to climb stairs slower in beautiful town home had to be locked up with the beautiful new furniture I hand picked with care and had it expertly delivered at one hundred dollars 💵 to get my 1st check because I couldn’t drive back and fourth physically at the time because my body could t take the one hour and 15 to thirty minutes as long as you’re flowing with the traffic toward ATU WITHOUT POLICE / and many other variables controlled by Mother Nature and not just the police and yes I’m African American woman and very proud of my full faculty status that I was asked to come to ATU for a meeting with the Rehabilitation board that I still sit on but the coordinator is much older and yet remains a very proud Air Force veteran that retired as full director at Ft roots and met me by addjunt status on line because my program is to help people like me fat tall small wheelchair or barely walking we all need a little help but don’t make wait to respond because the woman that helped me makes me cry because she has a pure heart but not complexion because I know the pain watching those with addictions and how they suffer and yet we still turn a blind eye ..not me
Stacey M. | Expérience généraleI held a storage unit with this facility for about four years. I paid on time. As time went on the facility began to go down hill. They removed the main gate to the storage units, thus providing less security. Many of the other tenants were delinquent on payments. Uhaul staff started loitering about the facility at odd hours appearing to be sketchy. Finally my unit was burglarized and the thieves covered their tracks by putting their own lock on my unit. It was methodical and planned, giving the appearance of being an inside job. Don't leave your stuff here. They didn't even sound surprised when I reported it because they didn't care.

I understand sometimes I was a couple weeks late and I understand the late fee in that instance, but when I was only a day late I was assessed a $30 late fee and that's hard when someone lives paycheck to paycheck.

I paid you all for about three years, and when i was hospitalized for emergency surgery, my daughter asked for a possible ext. Dhe even had a letter from my doctor. Your female GM said, I don't care if she is sick. She has to pay. My daughter never said she would pay, only asked for a few days after the 3rd. So, no I will not be telling anybody about how good you are. You all should be ashamed. She is a rude, racist who does nit have a heart of compassion. I paid, yes I did!

A lot of interior lights were burned out on multiple occasions when we visited, the gate to access the storage building area was always open when we visited, we noticed rat poison laying around, multiple units near my own had cards on the door that said they had mold growing inside and remained that way the entirety of the time I had my unit, and the insulation on the ceiling in my unit was falling apart so badly that all of my items had to be cleaned off upon removal. As I said, the staff was always kind and helpful, but the facilities could use some better upkeep.

James K. | Expérience généraleMy only complaint is that the outdoor access storage unit I reserved online was not actually available when I arrived. There were indoor and larger units available, just not what I asked for or what was confirmed online. The storage unit I ended up with was $30 more per month, which will add up over time. I was told that the U-Haul website confirmation doesn't necessarily mean anything for the local U-haul businesses. I've had this problem before where the right hand doesn't know (or care) what the left hand is doing. The local folks did try to accommodate my exist request, but it would have meant going to a different branch/facility, one further away from my residence. The average rating is for the complete (and final day of the) U-Haul experience.
