I had an outstanding experience at U-Haul today thanks to Nathaniel and Steven.  Nathaniel took the lead in helping me and truly went above and beyond, while Steven provided excellent support every step of the way. The level of customer service they both delivered was absolutely amazing top-notch in every sense. I honestly haven't received service like this at a U-Haul before. They were professional, attentive, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Nathaniel and Steven are shining examples of what great customer service should look like, and they deserve to be recognized for the incredible work they do. Highly recommend this location because of these two!

Make sure that your on line cost are the same as in store costs. I made my reservation on line with a $30 insurance purchase, when I got into pick up truck they wanted to charge me $45. I gad to show proff and go back on line to show price instead of ut bring on my order.

I waited 30 mins to get helped

I arranged for a uhaul at one location. Then I received a notice that I would have to pick up at another location. Luckily, I drove by that location day before. There was no Uhaul signs or trucks. Not even any sort of store or business. I went to where I ordered the truck and the clerk didn't know how to change back to their store. . The owner of the site happened to walk in. I asked him and he arranged with, "traffic," doing this correctly. Apparently the other site depended on a truck being returned! The owner was very helpful in what I needed for packing the truck. I returned for more equipment and the clerk was surely and said he couldn't help with advising about size of box. Also, the two helpers I got through movinghelp through uhaul were very later and awful. They were careless about fragile boxes and said they didn't know how to secure with rope. The owner of the store sold me rope saying its easier that bands. I also, two days before was told that the moving helper company did not work in CA. I tried to call movinghelp. I tried all day, holding up to 11/2 hours. never answered. I had to scramble to find someone in another state- someone I didn't know. Overall experience was totally negative. They also tried to give me a drop off spot very far away. Its a good thing my daughter knew the area and was able to ask for a closer drop off.

This was an amazing location for storage and all the staff were amazing especially the manager. Very professional and accommodating and super sweet. Also Nate was amazing and his friend they even helped with some heavy furniture,they have an amazing staff here who truly cares about people and making sure your possessions are safe. The equipment I rented was not in stock. The gentleman who took in my vehicle was rude and snapped at me because I did not keep the rental in the return bay when I checked out my order. I politely said that is not what was instructed on the U-haul app, and he again snapped at me saying "yeah, it's supposed to stay in the return bay", and I again said - that is not what is said on the checkout process. When I first went inside I said I was here to return a truck and he said "okay go outside and get it started". I had not been to this location before and I will not be back. I'm treated with such disrespect every time I work with U-haul. He should not be in customer service.

I was told I had to go to this location instead of my original location drop off. I was told it was 2 miles away, that was a lie, it was over 20 miles away, took another $12 in gas to fill up and than I was charged an additional mileage fee. Horrible that I was charged, even though it was only $4 extra, but plus the gas and a really bad area

Not helpful at helping me get a ride back to my vehicle after I dropped off at a different location they told me it's not our problem I figured since I was doing uhaul a favor and taking it where they needed me to they could at least give me a ride back to my car

When I arrived ontime for the trailer I reserved, I was told "they" rented out the trailer I reserved. I asked what the point of me reserving a trailer was if it was first come first served. Tim only offered that I rent the trailer with no ramp. Then he told me it actually does have a small ramp. It does no; its tailgate. I was upset that I was not notified before I arrived so I could make other arrangements and Tim made no effort to get me the trailer I needed. I learned when I dropped off the trailer that Tim was the one infact that was responsible for the trailer I reserved not being there. He attached the ramp trailer (that I reserved) to a customers car who rented the non-ramp trailer. So did they get a free upgrade? Good for them. I chose this location because I felt my chances of getting what I reserved in good condition with the least amount of hassle. Tim could have called other locations and sent me there. He could have arranged to have the trailer I reserved to be delivered before my appointment time. Not lied to me that the trailer actually has a ramp. Taken some accountability and remedied the situation. Offered a discount? Nope. I am just left with the question of why make a reservation? Or why use this location? There are plenty of other places that rent Uhaul trailers.

Issue after issue. Went in for a hitch install, first hitch didn't come with hardware so had to reschedule. While the new hitch showed up a few days later it took multiple calls to the location and two weeks to figure out the hitch was there and ready for install. Once installed I reserved a 4x8 trailer from the location and later got a call saying it wasn't actually available so I had to make another reservation for a 5x8. When I showed up to pick up the trailer we discovered the electrical connection was not installed properly and I was unable to use the trailer. I ended up having to rent a regular u haul truck which the manager said would be half off due to all the issues. When I returned the truck they walked back on this and said I could have a $40 discount. I ended up paying 3x more than I should have for the trailer I rented. I will never be back at this u haul location.

The agent who checked out the truck was great. Very professional. The agent I returned the truck to seemed hungover, upset I was there during operating hours, and very rude.

First when I arrived I was greeted with "oh great another 9 AM" and then told to try not to hit anything backing out. I asked if he would move the truck if it is difficult to move out and he replied with a straight no. Coming back was a whole other experience as I was yelled at and disrespected. I've done online checkouts with Uhaul before and I need to park and take pictures to complete the reservation. As I was trying to park, the same man who checked me in came out and yelled at me"stop! No! Go over there now!" I was shocked but then moved the van where he asked and he came up to my window. Told me to "hand me the keys now" and as I was shocked I complied. I was unable to do any of my checkout process as the Van was turned off and I could not get any data for mileage or gas levels. Which it was one gas level below from where I picked up. A nice young man told me to headbinside for a receipt to check out. I waited for 10 minutes then the original worker came in, looked at me, and said "you can leave they will send you the receipt online" After this, I called uhaul support to make a complaint of this and make sure I wasn't charged extra. To describe the man who was rude. He was older with black hair and scruff. He was white and rude

I had an emergency and needed to rent a tow dolly about 30 minutes before closing time. While I understand it was near the end of the day, the employee assisting me repeatedly complained about how customers wait until the last minute on Fridays to make rentals. As a customer, I found this unprofessional and frustrating, especially since U-Haul corporate clearly recognizes that Fridays are busier, which is why this location stays open until 8 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. on other days. When I expressed that if it was too much of an inconvenience I could go elsewhere, he said no but continued to voice his frustration about last-minute rentals. I have rented from this location before without issue, but this experience was disappointing. I don't believe an employee who displays this type of attitude should be at the front counter-particularly on a busy day like Friday when professionalism and customer service are most important.

Agents were horrifically rude. Walked into four men behind the counter and wasn't greeted by a single one and waited two entire minutes while they argued about who had to help us. When we checked in the truck the agent was so rude and said we were cutting it close even though the location was open for 10 more minutes and we also had the truck reserved for another 3 hours and were happy to check it in using the app. It's incredibly discouraging when workers treat you like your paying business is a huge inconvenience and doesn't create repeat customers.

I'm pretty stressed about having to use a storage facility. U-haul has always been a name I know I could trust so I went with what I felt familiar with and the fact that the 24th St U-haul location has always been there, I felt confident that it won't go out of business and leave me hanging. Tim, the associate that assisted me with check in was extremely helpful, friendly, and courteous to my anxiousness about using a storage facility. He answered all my questions in a professional manner and was patient with me when I asked questions twice. I highly recommend this and all other U-haul services because it's a trustworthy and professional company and their employees give you the friendly professionalism thats many times needed when you gotta move or store all your stuff. Thank you, U-haul and Tim at the 24th St and Mcdowell location.

I had a terrible experience with this process. I reserved a unit while renting a trailer, all to be returned at the same location as the storage unit which is right by the house I will be moving to. I drove from 9am Friday morning to 5m Sunday from Atlanta to Phoenix. I tried multiple times to complete the reservation through the app and was not able to. I tried calling to store from a hour before open until 430,30 minutes before they closed and would get routed to the contact center. I finally received a call at 450 and was told that unit was not available and the rep rrird5to ulsale me the next biggest unit for the higher price until I had to tell him as a customer service rep why wouldn't you price match it to what I originally reserved. He tried to explain what could have caused the issue and why I couldnt finish the rental through the app. Then I get to the facility, I have two different unit numbers with different access points. Cars are parked in from of loading doors so it's hard to maneuver boxes and dolly's between the to get in the building. Just put your self in the position of a traveler or mover who's been packing and lifting, super tired, the ease of this process should have been seamless. If it wasn't it for the first month free I would have not gone this route.

The customer service rep (Serena) was really nice to work with, after that most other items ere frustrating. I booked the facility on-line a number of week ago. Upon arrival I was informed that the unit was not available and their policy was to only hold a unit for 24 hours. It was frustrating and does not make sense that I was never informed the unit I booked was no longer available. I appreciate Serena working with me to come up with a solution. I was able to move my daughter's items in prior to departing town early the next morning. U-haul needs to look at is rules related to online booking and informing customers if there are any changes. My customer experience was not a good one.

On the whole, I'm happy with the experiences, however there are a couple issues that can be improved. 1) I'm aware that I must check in and out each time I visit the facility, however the access gate seems to get easily confused as to whether I'm signed in or out. When I left on Sunday, I closed the door, got into my vehicle and started to the exit gate, but remembered I left something in the storage unit. I went back to the door, but it would not sign me in. I went to the access gate and tried my code there, and it did not respond. I went back and forth a couple times and it did not respond - I had to call the office to come open the gate. 2) I am in unit 1010 - the bathroom is out of order there. I assume that will be repaired and made available?

They never charged too much, but it was inconsistent and they could never get our two units on the same cycle or recognized in the account. Very messy. Sirrus was especially helpful first over the phone then in person especially underscoring the value U-Haul provides as a company. I have another storage in another city and will now be switching that storage to a U-Haul self storage. Came in to pick up my truck and was given the keys to leave and the truck was parked behind other trucks. Next day came in to load my storage and first, I wasn't explained correctly about the buildings & the letters not matching the building # - THEN once I got into the building there was still a lock on the unit. From getting my truck to leaving the storage unit i had to walk back inside over 3 times due to issues and not being ready for me.

I will commend your company for holding my storage as long as you did, but my biggest complaint is when I received a message stating I could get my items at no charge, then not giving me any way to access those items. The items in the storage were my deceased brother who died not long after Covid started. I received a message from Erica at 24th st and McDowell office stating I could come get my items at no charge. I was working at the time and did not get the message until after they had closed for the day. I went down on Sunday with the means to get the storage cleaned out and was told the lock on there was unable to be opened. So I had to leave and not get my stuff Sunday. I called immediately when they opened Monday morning as my storage was due to go to auction and was told there was nothing they could do. I felt that this was the worst thing you could do to somebody, make them think they can get their items and not give them anyway to get it. I still have not even been contacted about the personal items that should have not been included in the auction. I expect this from Public Storage, but not U-haul. I will not ever get a storage with your company nor will I ever use your trucks, ever again.

Very easy facility to get in and out. Storage was clean. It is a very busy office and the only down side was the long lines. So plan in advance and don't be in too much of a rush. The staff was friendly and helpful.

This storage unit was rented for my son who had to move out of his ASU apartment. When he went to check in he was told that he didn't have a reservation. After arguing with the desk person his reservation was found but it was pulling teeth to have him show my son the location of his storage unit. His card and code would not let him have access. The desk help used his card to open the gate and told him to call yesterday to get a new code. He called yesterday, got a new code, drove his car packed with all of his belongings to the storage unit and the CODE did not work. He has to be at work at 8:00am today with a car full of stuff. It is two days from the day we rented the storage unit and can not access it still. I would definitely never use this facility again.

The room that was recommended to me on the website turned out to be laughably insufficient for my needs. I'm still wondering how on earth renting a 10ft truck would equate to me only needing a 6x5x10 sized room.

Everything was great except for the account platform. I set up autopay for all 3 of my lockers day 1 & somehow 1 magically came off of autopay & I was charged an late fee… the same thing happened the following month but in the 2nd month, it was 2 of my lockers that dropped off of autopay causing me to pay 2 late charges. In total, I had to pay 3 late charges due to a faulty system & had to make sure to pay manually every month due my lack of confidence in the system. This was 100 % system error, not user error.

I had a different storage for a long time. I wasn't comfortable with drug addicts pretty much living in thier units, and always hanging around the outside. This place has great security, & no one asking for change when you try to access your unit. I'm satisfied already 

Having a 6ft ceiling is very inconvenient for getting king size mattresses and anything else of a large size in storage. We had to rent a second storage unit at a different facility to put our larger items in. :(

We moved from Denver to Phoenix using only your services and if the uboxes get delivered as expected then your company has done an excellent job. We rented a truck and trailers and boxes and movers and only think that wasn't great was having to drive from Denver to Salina to get the trailer we needed. About half the staff were not wearing masks even when leaving from behind the desk. The storage facility recommended for a 2 bed 2 bath was far too small for what we needed and had to change units. The door on our unit was very hard to close and seemed very flimsy. I would tell people about it but might recommend them to look elsewhere first.

incompetent staff for checking out as well as returning vehicles. Building code swipe didn't work for storage unit; vehicles being returned blocked entry into parking lot as well as to unload into storage. Totally unorganized and no one seemed to care about your issues. Worst U-Haul place I've ever been!!

There was no one available to help when I got there, had to wait 30 minutes for assistance. The storage unit the call center reserved was way too small even though I gave them info on what I needed. The facility was not very clean, units seem extremely old.

There were a few times that a few employees were standing around when I was waiting for assistance. I did appreciate that one of the employees offered the special for the storage unit i'm using.

Poor access to rear storage area. To many vehicles in the way blocking access area for loading and unloading. 6 foot ceilings on ground floor. No elevator to 2nd floor.

Lovely place especially Aaron, but way too expensive . U-Haul had me pay a month in advance and when I retrieved my furniture , no credit for days unused. That's not a good policy .
