The staff in Philadelphia who got the container dropped and picked up were great. There were road closures and more but they helped!! I did find that the online account info. was out of date which I would look at if I were you, but otherwise a great experience.

Every single time I rent a truck I take a picture of the gas. Every single time I return the truck I make sure the gas is exactly where it was when I took the truck and that the truck is spotless. I come here so much I even ask the guy who cleans the truck if it meets his standard. Yet, every single time I get smacked with $70 in gas charges, $20 in gas fees, $25 in cleaning charges. Reached out to corporate dozens of times. As of today I've been charged over $1790 in gas and cleaning fees across the board. The workers inside are great but who ever is everting the gas and cleaning fees has to get an evaluation.

I returned the vehicle on the same day that I rented it, but was charged an extra day and ripped off by the employees at this location. I will never be back, and I will let the world know not to rent from here. "You can sheer a sheep many times, but skin him only once." Never again.

Atrocious experience with UHaul in general, not the locations fault. I ordered a 15 ft. truck and amended the order to 20 ft. a month ago (which was confirmed) and arrived to be told no 20 ft.'s were available in the area. I ultimately attached a trailer to the 15 ft. (for an extra $150+ dollars) but returned the trailer as I did not feel comfortable driving it for the long haul. However, I was told I could not get a refund for it without contacting customer service. I did not do this, as I called customer service earlier regarding the size request and was on hold for ~30 minutes twice and it automatically hung up. When I eventually reached someone I was forwarded to another number and after 37 minutes, hung up. Terrible experience with the business, lack of able action by the franchise, and ultimately the end result - in which I will be contacting customer service over the coming days for a refund and to inform you of a breach of contract. I will not be using UHaul ever again and your error made my moving experience unnecessarily stressful.

I first went to the 12th st location (mistakenly). The desk person. Calling her rude would be an understatement. “Name!?” I respond. “You ain't here, number?!” I respond “phone or reservation?” She looks at me as if i must be the dumbest person on the planet. “Phone” I put up with difficult people all the time as I am a restaurant manager, so finding this attitude from a customer representative was appalling. I'd sooner inconvenience a friend or family member than rent a van or truck from uhaul ever again. Also- the review on the equipment is because there were 2 recurring check engine lights: for brake pads and tire psi sensor. Spending $100 on a rental that has check engine lights on isn't my idea of a leisurely Monday.

I would send someone in area but too far for me. Was not explained that this was my pick up spot. Not until two hours before pick up. Too complicated trying to use picture set up for drivers license. Return was not bad.

Really,had trouble with all the back and forth info with returning vehicle.and so called drop box, was a mail slot on roll up door.another person returning there rental told me about it are I would have taking key home till morning also I wish the guy who waited on me would have told they closed at 700pm I would have made it a point to be back by then also this was the second time coming back to return vehicle was there at710pm went back around 930pm to try again was not told about parking on lot if they were closed.it was a good nite for me returning vehicle with all stuff had to enter in phone and on top of that had to wait for rain to stop to take pictures.EtcEct

2990 s 20th st Philadelphia- The man at customer service desk was average at best and very slow so wait was long. Marquan (spelling) was EXCELLENT. He helped us find our unit and explained elevator use. He is an asset to uhaul.

Got charged for truck rental and couldn't use it because the AC wasn't working. Did find out until I drove about 3 miles. Usually get good service but not today. Shame on you uhaul

Constantly charging for gas upon returning vehicle with gas back to where it was when picked up. Noticed several months ago that if you turn the truck on look at the gas, turn it off and back on, look at the gas. The gas is never in the same location. I've been charged “gas fees” “after hour fees” and the best “cleaning fees”. I make sure the truck is always spotless and always has gas. I've been taking photos and videos everyday for the last few months I rent frequently. Even after the photos and videos I have provided to uhaul showing proof that the gas is where it should be or over in some cases they have yet to address the near $1000 in fees. I've called and emailed over a dozen times. Really ridiculous when you spend $500-$600 on renting trucks that you can't even get a call back on fraud charges.

I'm rating the customer service AT THIS LOCATION a 5/5. However, I had a terrible time in actually getting the equipment and it cost me significant time and money. When I booked online, I booked to pick up a Truck and Car Trailer at the same location. The week I have to pick it up, I get a call saying they're not available at the same location. So I get one address for the Truck, another address for the Trailer. A few days later, I get another call. I now have a different address to pick up my trailer. So now, I've been given three different addresses to pick up equipment. This was very confusing. So, finally, the day comes and I have to go pick up the Truck (in Philly), which was about 40min away from my home location (West Chester). The trailer was only about 15min away from my home location in West Chester. So, in order to make this all work, here was what I had to do: Uber to the Truck (furthest away; $60 Uber). Pick up the Truck. Drive the Truck to the Trailer location (closer to my home); Pick up the Trailer and attach it to the Truck; Drive back to my home to set up the car on the trailer by myself. Had I driven my car to the Truck first, I would have had to do an extra hour of driving to go get the Trailer, drive back to get my car from the Truck location, then drive BACK to my home to load the Truck. This was horribly inefficient, added extra time and cost to my day, and really put a bad taste in my mouth with UHaul. UHaul Credited me $50 but that is nowhere near enough to compensate for the $60 Uber and additional hour of driving. With the cost of gas these days and driving a UHaul Truck & Trailer... that's not a nothing amount of money spent.

Honestly I'm very disappointed with the condition of this location storage units. They were dirty, smelly , and unsafe; along my way to the storage I rented but didn't use because there's a rodent problem to point they have to put traps down I noticed an awful smell to which I asked the CSR (customer service representative) what it was and we were told that they believe someone put a animal of some sort ( probably a hamster ) in their unit and it died but they weren't really quite sure. Another thing as to why I'm giving this location the lowest rating possible is because I was having issue with my account; I cancelled my account with them prior to my next bill date( almost a month in advance for reference) and yet I was still getting emails stating how I was going to get charged a late fee. I ended having to call not one but two times because my account wasn't "closed" out and afterwards was still getting emails and letter stating how I'm late on the payment . Honestly I believe this location needs to be under a different supervision because whoever is the general manager right now is not doing their job correctly.

Our van really probably shouldn't have been rented. The passenger side mirror was cracked so bad that it was not useable, basically. The rear left blinker wasn't working either. Just kind of a mess. But it was fine and the staff were very friendly and helpful and understanding.

After reserving a van for 6am pickup it was not available. Trucks have option does not work at this location. When I had to return at 9am was told they don't do truckshare. I said then why can I reserve it 3 days ago online? If you don't have truckshare then why not block me from reserving it? They said that they were just informing me for next time. I said, there will not be a next time. Why do you offer truckshare and 24/7 pickup when they don't have it? This makes no sense! Thanks for the $50 comp, but you wasted my time with this bs. Please get your act together.

Why do you let me reserve a van at 6am and then it is not available at this location until 9am? Then they tell me they don't do before or after hours pickup. Thanks for wasting 3 hours of my time when I needed to get stuff delivered early in the morning. Why doesn't the website block me from reserving a van if I can't pick it up? Then when I call customer service and they tell me a van is available across town, I drive out there and find out someone else has the keys to the same van in their hands and it is blocked in anyways. What kind of organization sends people on a wild goose chase across Philadelphia trying to get a van they had reserved 3 days previously? You are horrible.

The drop off location was tricky to find - turn left just in front of the building and behind the row of trucks. You'll pull up under the overhang. The staff were great, the drop off was easy, and the location was convenient! It was also nice that we could also park a car in front of the neighboring store's lot.

It would have been a bit more helpful to have a more detailed explanation of how to get in and out of the storage area. The building is so big and the entrance isn't labeled. Even though we were told to "check in" we didn't know what that meant and had to stumble around trying to figure it out. Now that we know how to get it, it's pretty simple.

Multiple times I had to confirm closing of account. Always no matter what place on long hold to drop call I witnessed it in the store Sight was broken into multiple times Employees act like children doing a job . You can tell there is a major gap in training ownership and leadership. First bad review I've ever written hope it work placed needs to be revamped.

I reserved a 26footer a month before my move a day before my pick up I received a phone call stating I've been down sized to a 15 footer in which, cause me to make three trips and I went over my mileage and was charge almost $50 extra when I was the one who was inconvenience. No I wouldn't recommend Uhaul at least not the one I keep dealing with, and having the same bad experience! This location has a bunch of rude, lazy, and overbearing group of men I have had the displeasure of doing business with and I will convey that every chance I get. Unlike, the lady from NY that helped me after being dismissed by them she knows how to treat customers and I said as much to her supervisor! After speaking to her I unfortunately had to deal with one person in particular today at that location and he was even worse than our previous dealings hours earlier.

The personnel were great help. They told me exactly where the place was, where to go close by to get gas, helped me back up the trailer, & walked me through the drop off process. Went over the costs. I explained to the manager that I had some difficulties when picking up the truck & trailer. He took care of issues immediately.

Frank was a devoted Employee . He was top notch in ALL areas . You should be glad you have a person like him working for you . Now about your Reservation site . It sucks . I could never get in to change anything and when ordered at one location it changed it somewhere out of the way like 3 hours before pick up . . And I ordered a week in advance .

Manager is really stupid,does not listen to reason. Has me as renting a unit for 10 months, I have never been on or seen this property. Dont know anything about their location. This dummy got my name somehow and has been harassing me about a lock for ten months. Hangs up when I tell him he has the wrong person. Noone I know could have given him my information. Real problem this guy.

Some of the worst customer service we have experience in our lives. We moved across the country and picking up a truck and dropping it off was supposed to be the easy part and uhaul made it absolutely horrendous. I have never stood in front of a person for 5 minutes waiting for them to even acknowledge my existence while they sit at the desk and pretend like I am not there. Zero communication, zero information about our rental. Not a single person at the uhaul facility in quartermaster plaza in Philadelphia had any idea what was going on with our reservation drop off, payment info, refund info. They did not even seem to know anything about their own facility. Prices, storage unit locations, hours. How do you run a business like that? Serious question. We have paid uhaul close to $3000 for the worst moving experience of our lives. We returned the uhaul with hundreds less miles than estimated and with more gas in the vehicle then when we picked it up and we still have not heard anythinf about being refunded the difference in the cost we originally paid. We are not going to let this go because It is truly unacceptable and something needs to be done about it. At the bare minimum, we need to be refunded for the difference in mileage/gas from the original payment versus how many miles we actually drove. The guy working the desk spent more time on his iPhone than trying to attend to my needs. When I finally got a 10x10 until it was one with 3x3 of it taken up by a internal metal tube taking up a very large space of my alleged 10x10 rental area. There was also a large human feces in the unit itself, one I reported and asked to have removed. I've no idea if this has been done due to the employees disinterest in his job and fascination in his iPhone tiq toq or. Whatever kept his attention more important than me as a customer.

All of my belongings was ruined due to holes in the roof of the unit I was renting And when I spoke with Management they was no help. Out of a 1 to 10 I give uhaul a 3 and I will never use or recommend U-Haul to anyone again

Worked well for what I needed. I unloaded ink es for storage and then loaded them again for a move. U-Haul box location isn't convenient for the storage area, but I'm not sure how common it is to unload the crates into a regular storage unit. Seems like there should be a way to make this process more convenient for the customer. I realize it's a warehouse, and mice are common but my belongings had mouse feces and urine all over it. You might want to treat the area. Staff seems happy and very helpful, although always very busy and wait times were long.

A dead rodent and rodent droppings were found all over my storage unit. When i mentioned it, the staffperson swept up the dead rodent but refused to sweep the open space, then was rude and uncooperative. A claim nor an followup took place the day of the incident. Didnt get a call back. Had to call back multille times before claim was opened - amd still never received any feedback about the claim. I ended my strage contract sooner than I wanted to because of this.

The front desk officer was not helpful at making the process smoother. The storage unit was difficult to access. It took us a long time to get in the unit and then found out the unit we were assigned to was locked… so we had to wait to be reassigned another unit which was more expensive since it was the only one available left. The overall experience was inconvenient.

Shortly after I moved in 6years ago there was construction done on the building and my unit was a mess had to make an insurance claim to get my unit cleaned. Lighting was no and off in my area. Also when I moved out this weekend, the unit was all dusty again and climate control thermostat INSIDE the building was 80 degrees...outside temperature was in the 60's

Horrible experience. I reserved a 10x7 unit in June for a august move in. My reservation wasn't honored and the had no more 10 x7s available. After 90 minutes they gave me a 10x7 that was reserved by someone else. This unit had a uhaul lock on it for 3 weeks and they couldn't remove it. Don't know why. They don't keep bolt cutters around??? I said I shouldn't be charged rent for those 3 weeks the employee refunded my money and started over with rentinG a different unit The manager finally steps out of his office after hearing the employees struggling to fix the issues and reprimand him for refunding my money and spoke down to me as it was my problem that I didn't let him know there was a problem getting into the unit. It would have been different if they had a key to remove the lock but couldn't give access to the unit. It doesn't matter if I physically started moving stuff in 3 weeks after I rented it.. the employees didn't follow up at all to make sure it wasn't and issue. They forgot about me as soon as I walked out the door. And the manager/ owner was a jerk

Great staff. Very helpful on the first day. Only suggestion would be when cleaning possible spray or use small air fresheners for there was an odd smell, but other than that everything was good.

After leaving the customer service area, I forgot to inquire about moving the due date to the 21st of the month. So, when I called back after returning back to my house. I called U-thul, I was put on hold for a couple of minutes, and the customer service representative answered the phone. This young man had an accent voice. I said to him that I just left the customer service area with my son and I wanted to move the due date back to the 21st of the month. He said to me that I would have to pay another month's rent in order to change the due date. I told him never mind and I hung up the phone.
