Have two people working at a time staff. The woman that works there was super nice and hard working but was run ragged. She had to ask a customer to leave the office area to lock it up when doing the check over with our van. When we returned there was a sign saying back in 10 minutes so we waited which was fine but then found out she was attending to 400 unit storage facility that she runs in the back. Don't be so cheap. When can she even go to the bathroom or eat? You're lucky she's so nice and diligent. It's also a sketchy area with a lot of street people around and not safe to have a woman on her own. Again, don't be greedy. Put two staff people at this place. Otherwise is excellent and well run and clean and great equipment. Thanks for listening.

I ended up at the Queens location because of the deceit and lies at the Topaz street location where they rented me a room as being 3' x10' x8' when in honesty it was under 10' by a few inches but the 3' was only 27 inches. Beating as I was storing moving boxes that's the difference between one wide and two wide making it half the size they said. Then when I rented a truck to move to Mackenzie the truck was parked with the nose of the truck way up the embankment facing Blanchard St wit the front wheels way over a foot above the rear in elevation and causing an obvious deviation in the gas tank reading and once on the road to the ferries I noticed that within just a few miles on the truck it was now below 3/4 of a tank. For example when I gassed up in Hope after the almost level journey to get there the truck took $145 in fuel, my next fuel stop was in Williams lake after all the steep climbs up the Trans Canada was only $150.00. If you do the math seeing as gas in Williams lake was more expensive it's pretty easy to see the truck wasn't properly fueled before being rented.

After going to the Queens Ave location I was helped by the fantastic employee Coleen. She sorted me out with a van instead of a 10' truck and did her best to get me back on track after becoming about an hour off schedule. If it weren't for her and the very clean and functional van this would have been a 1 star review.

Margaret S.The woman who helped me was really great. Best part of the experience by far. The self-serve mobile pickup process was just awful. A lot of the information asked for could be had from the ODB2 port (gas, mileage). Required too many photos & steps, then you have to get the keys from a person anyway. The whole process takes a really long time. The web app crashed twice while I was trying to use it. Charging for mileage and not including fuel is just annoying. Maybe increase the per-km mileage by like $0,2 and include a gas card if the tank is low (zipcar does this).
Kieran H.I have used uHaul for many years, including this location, and completed after hours drop off with no problem many times. This time it looks like things have been updated to use an online web app to check in and check out. Background: I have a mobility disability in my hands that makes using a smartphone arduous or not possible for complex tasks. Many settings I use make other stuff break that would normally work for average users. Despite all this I'm still very tech saavy, holding multiple degrees in software and computer engineering. On the way to uhaul I tried my best to complete the new check-in procedure using the web app on my mobile device (note this was the web app accessed through my browser, not a smart phone app). It was not functioning: I couldn't upload my driver's license photos and as I got to the very last page I could not select the "accept terms and services" checkbox at the end. I presented this issue to the service manager. He said there was no problem and that he could check me in manually. As he talked us through the after hours return procedure, he mentioned using "the web app" to complete the checkout. I raised a concern about this as the check-in procedure had failed. I asked if there was another way to do the checkout, because what if the web app fails again? At this point he condescendingly informed me that "No it WILL work!" because, "It's a WEB APP! Not a PHONE app! You know, HTML? The REAL web?" He then started bragging about how he "used to own a software company," and continued talking down to me with his description of 90's web technologies. I protested, insisting that I understand the difference between a web app and a smart phone app, and tried to remind him that it was the web app that didn't work during check-in, but he just kept interrupting me. Finally I asked if there were written instructions for the checkout procedure, hoping there would be some helpful hints. He just laughed dismissively saying, "No it's dead simple. Why would there be instructions?" After returning the rental to the location, I tried to do the self checkout online using the web app as instructed. Shockingly, it DID NOT WORK. I couldn't upload photos as before which means I couldn't verify any of the odometer, fuel readings, etc. Also, the app REQUIRES location services to be functional. Again, for assistive technology reasons I can't use location services, so how am I supposed to complete this process? How do people without smart phones at all complete this process? How about older folks? Or people who are not tech saavy? So I'm sitting there trying to finish my check in on time so I don't get charged for extra time. I call uhaul to try to do it manually but the hold time is 45mins. I waited on hold the entire time while I tried to get the web app to work. Ended up giving up and had to find someone else with a smart phone that worked just to complete the check in. Which, as a woman returning a vehicle downtown late at night, is completely unacceptable. In summary: 1. UHAUL needs to provide an accessibility alternative to smart phone checkout for after hours returns. 2. Queens location manager: Do better. Listen when customers are asking questions about policy and request alternatives. Be kinder. Maybe you should smile more.

Linda L.I would not recommend it to a friend because it has basically been taken over by drug addicts and homeless people and I no longer feel like it a safe or clean facility and I do kot feel comfortable being there by myself or by myself with my kids. I am constantly worried about my car being broken into or damaged out front. I have also not felt co mfortable using the washroom in a long time. There is a huge homeless/addict population outside because of the proximity to a street church across the street and the shelter on the corner. The number of people using these places has increased exponentially due to covid. Neighboring businesses have hired security to try and maintain order. Uhaul has not. The staff there are too busy to manage the problems they are facing outside and inside the facility as a result. They cannot be every where all the time. They are also facing dangerous situations they have not had to before. Uhaul needs to hire more staff, pay for more staff to be on at same time or hire security. The problems they are facing here are very real, and serious. How irresponsible of Uhaul to ignore it! Rented lockers since 2015....multiple lockers....same location...able to adequately compare service and how things have changed.

I was forced to buy a UHaul lock, the sign up system is outdated, the elevator is too small, there is no parking, staff are up and down you never know their mood. The location made a huge mistake and id not reserve my locker when I booked and confirmed twice. Then I was given another locker very begrudgingly. I was then reminded incessantly that the locker they gave me was only temporary and I should move out. So I did . I will never use Uhaul storage again!

Monica R. | Expérience généraleColleen, Carmen and Neville each and all have been phenomenal to engage with. As for the UHaul app or IT systems, they need modernisation. Key parts of my fuller reservation (i.e iorder of truck insurance and dolly and the locker) became removed on various dsys in advance of the truck pick up, resulting in my having to make 5 separate phone calls to the storage site and one to UHaul traffic office to sort out the glitches. UHaul system glitches also resulted in 1-hour of time being expended upon arrival at the storage facility just to check in and complete paperwork. It is only the patience and professionalism of the staff that made the process bearable. Total good to the staff and bad to UHaul.
